9.2.0.8 Client patch

Hi,
I'm looking for 9.2.0.8 Client patch for Windows 7.
I do not see it here :
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html
Where can I find it ?
Thank you.

I do not see it here :1) Patches and patchsets are available on MOS/metalink only
2) There will be never patchset 9.2.0.8 for Windows 7, because the first supported version is 10.2.0.5

  • 9.2.0.6 client patch on XP - services conflict

Just downloaded the 9.2.0.6 .zip from MetaLink and tried to run the setup.exe to patch a client machine. The installer (10.1.0.3.0) reports this error:
Certain files which need to be reinstalled by Oracle Universal Installer are being used by one or more running services.
It then lists 30 services! I had no problems with any previous 9i client patches.
I have seen a few suggested workarounds (renaming directories, renaming .dlls in /bin, etc.), but none has worked.
Any suggestions to get this patch applied?

Set all relevant services to "Manual" startup. Then
reboot and try installing the patch. This generally
works for me. Don't forget to set all services to
"Automatic" startup when you are done.
    Hope this helps.

  • SCCM/WSUS 2007 01-2015 Bulletin Patching issue. Some clients patch just fine, some will not download the content.

Bit new to the admin side, so please excuse some ignorance.
We have approx 6000 end points.  We setup this months patches and a couple out of cycle ones we noticed.  We are getting a TON of clients that will not patch.  They are getting the defintions but when we attempt to run the advertised
patches they fail approx 10 seconds later.  However, some servers on the same boundry will patch just fine.  We get the error message in the logs that when the client was told to download the content from the DP, it spits out error that content does
not exist.  The DPs we believe are having the issues are MPs as well sitting in DMZ.  We have 2 sites configured basically the same, both DP/MPs in DMZ are the ones having the issues.  We have confirmed clients are able to connect anon to the
DP/MP.  But again, some clients are patching just fine.
UpdatesDeployment.log has the following warning listed 7 times.
Not refreshing update presence state as error CI Info status received
But yet does see that it needs 7 patches.
EnumerateUpdates for action (UpdateActionInstall) - Total visible updates = 7
No other logs show any errors on the clients.  I have confirmed the content is avalible on the DP/MP it is reporting too. Obviously though since other clients sitting right next to them work still.
Any ideas?  Trying to avoid working all weekend.  Thank you!

We checked every single log on every MP, DP, SS and many clients.  For unknown reasons, deleteing and rebuilding the Jan update list did the trick.

  • Trying to identify why a client patched a day after it's scheduled time. WUA off by GPO, 2/3 patches not in sccm repository.

    Hi All,
I have one machine in a collection 33 that apparently patched and rebooted a day after it's scheduled patch window.  This client normally patches the 3rd Sunday of every month.  I have 2 reboot task sequences to make sure the client is ready to
receive patches and another later on after patches should have installed to insure the machine is compliant.  Both task sequences went off when they were supposed to, but yesterday the server (w2k8 r2 standard) patched 3 updates and rebooted.  Automatic
updates is disabled by GPO.  So I'm pretty sure it wasn't that.  What's vexing me is that two of the three patches are not in the sccm repository nor in the update list.  So I think I can safely say that those two didn't come from sccm
doing it's own thing.  Least I would think at least.  I see in the windows update log the three patches and their time stamps.  What I need to be able to determine is why would sccm patch this client the following day.  Is this a wmi issue?
Is there something in a particular log I should be looking for?
Any direction would be great.  Thanks!
    HS

    Hi Mark,
That crossed my mind as well.  One of the three patches was in the repository but I checked 3 times for the other two and they are not there, so it made me consider someone manually doing it.  I did check the security log, but I was finding tons
of system account logons or other processes we have said up to log in.  I didn't find a user login.  I'm assuming based on this small snippet from the windowsupdate.log that it is config agent doing the updates. The first update I have in the repository,
the last two are not there.  If someone can direct me to what I should be looking for that would be great.

  • Cannot find Oracle 10.2.0.4 client patch download for W2K3 32 bit.

    Hi All,
To fix a Oracle client bug I would like to upgrade the Oracle client software from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.4. The bug we are experiencing has been solved in 10.2.0.2. It has to do with Windows memory management. Normal users can only use the client if an administrator has logged on to the system and started the client in another session. Otherwise the client fails.
The Operating system is: Windows 2003 32bit Standard Edition.
The current Oracle client software is the full 10.2.0.1 Oracle client software, not the instant client.
I have spent about three hours and a colleague of mine has searching on Metalink, otn and using google for the 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.3 patch and came up with zero?
Could anyone provide me with a way to download this patch? I have found some patch numbers but when I search the patch numbers on Metalink they all turn out to be dead links. :-(
    Regards,
    Michael.

Once you apply the patch, the OUI automatically detects which specific components to upgrade. One of the differences when you apply the patchset against an RDBMS and a client installation is that the RDBMS requires all the databases to perform a post install phase where the data dictionary must be upgraded as well. On the client installation it is just enough to apply the patchset against the client oracle home.

  • Does MI client Patch work For meRepMeta.xml file.

    Hi All,
Every time I create a patch it works fine for JSP & Contollers but it dont replace Views, images & properties files.
Now a new change cameup it happened to make changes to lot of view files including meRepMeta.xml file as there are changes in Sync BO itself.
Can some body advice, does the patch work to replace this or not, else a feasable solution as we cannot reconfigure all the Devices on site.
    Your help is much appriciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sai Krishna. K

    Dear Sai Krishna,
It is normal, not an issue. It sometimes depends on different factors. Generally 2-3syncs are required to get the full data after client data reset.
    Regards,
    Veera
    Additional Non-Conslusive Info for understanding:
Though there is no official wording, and just general recommendation of 2-3 syncs, we can derive (though I cannot term for sure) the general way of working of the sync mechanism from the default value of the below parameter setting. This setting comes when you "Allowing the Creation of Setup Packages" in your server":
    Parameter: NO_OF_SYNC_TO_GET_MASTER_DATA
    Description:
    Optional. Number of synchronization
    processes required to download the
    initial master data.
    Determine the number required by
setting up a test device and checking
    the number of synchronizations
necessary for all the data to be
    visible following the two initial
    synchronization runs (see
    Synchronizing for the First Time
). As part of the two initial
synchronization runs, the device ID is
    assigned and the application is
    transferred. Do not include these
    initial synchronization runs in your
calculation. Only take those runs into
account that are used to transfer the
    data.
    Possible values: Positive integers
    Default: 3
Note: I have just copied the table values above from the configuration guide in help.sap.com.

  • Novell Client patch kills authentication to middle tier

    Hi,
There was a recent patch for the novell client which replaces the file nicm.sys due to a security vulnerability. When I install this patch onto servers which have the Zenworks Middle Tier software installed it prevents the client machines from authenticating to edirectory via the middle tier servers.
Once I put the old vulnerable nicm.sys file back then the authentication begins working again.
I've had dig around to see if any one else is experiencing this problem but I haven't found anything.
Any suggestions on how I might fix this. I would ideally like to resolve this as I don't like my servers being vulnerable.
    Thanks in advanced
    Liz

You can install a server that only has Middle-Tier.
The rest of the stuff requires the client IIRC.
If you have upgrade protection, you may be able to test with a ZDM7 SP1 IR3
    version of the middle-tier.
The problem is that Novell is no longer patching/testing against ZDM6.5, so
even if there was a code issue, its not likely you could get a fix.

  • SCCM 2012 CU1: client patching needed?

    Hi,
We installed SCCM 2012 R2 patch on the sccm server some time ago.
    Now I wonder:
-do we need to take specific actions to update existing clients? -probably yes -deploying the package sccm 2012 client that the upgrade installed?-
-new deployed clients take the CU1 update automatically in their deploy, correct (I noticed that somewhere in a log if I remember correct)
-what would be the impact if we do not take actions (as for now no issues).
    J.
    Jan Hoedt

Yes, you need to deploy CU1 to the clients -- it is in no way automatic (unfortunately).
Here's the official guidance for deploying updates: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj553405.aspx
There aren't any specific negative ramifications of not doing so, but anything added by CU1 -- like fixes -- won't affect the client if the client doesn't have the CU installed also.

  • HFM client patch installation

    Hi,
We have an HFM - FDM - Riporting system which consits 3 application servers and 1 terminal server.
The HFM application server were updated to the 11.1.2.1.600 version, but the terminal server which only have an HFM client remained on the 11.1.2.1.0 version.
As the .600 patch instruction says, we must stop the HFM processes and the IIS.
If I want to install this patch only to the terminal server, is it a must to stop these services?
I think the answer is not, because only a client will change, but please ensure me, if somebody has experience about a situation like this.
    Regards,
    Tamas

If there are no HFM related processes running on the machine you are applying the patch then you should be ok.
    Cheers

  • Microsoft client patching, deployment deadline

    Hi All,
Goal: patch clients (Windows, office) and after the installation a controlled reboot.
What I did: made a collection, software update group, deployment package and a deployment. In the deployment i configured a deadline.
Everything seams to be alright, but when I look into the log files I noticed that the installation process starts just before the deadline and the clients reboots close to the deadline. Is this the normal behavior?
    Grtz Andrew

    Hi Jason,
    thanks for your anwser.
what do you mean with "Automatic update installation (like all deployments) will not start until
    *after* the deadline"
Is it possible you explain this a little to me?

  • Best practise for installing patches for SCCM Client 2012 (Both x86 and x64)) - OSD and Client Push Installation

    Hi All,
What is best practice for automatic installing of SCCM 2012 client Patches
(using Patch switch) during installation of SCCM 2012 clients? The challenge is that now there are two versions of clients and updates (x86 and x64).
    I need information for:
    OSD
    Client Push Installation
    Thank you in advance.
    Regards,

Not everything that can be or is supported or not supported is documented (or ever can be):
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/jj643252.aspx
Your expectation here needs to be adjusted. No one recommended contacting support. William just mentioned that *if* you have an issue and needed to contact support, they may decline to help you because you've done something explicitly unsupported.
For clientpatch, here's the specific documentation noting it as unsupported:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrteam/archive/2009/04/08/automatically-applying-hotfixes-to-the-configuration-manager-2007-client-during-installation.aspx
Additionally, I've also been in contact with the sustained engineering folks responsible for the CUs and they've reinforced the statement.
What can happen? Who knows? Microsoft does not test against unsupported configurations and features -- that's the definition of unsupported. It's not tested so no one really knows. They did find a couple of explicit issues (outlined in that post above) so
know that at least those exist and probably more since it is, as mentioned, abandoned code.
Why does it matter what can happen though? If the folks who write and support the code tell you shouldn't do it, you are simply asking for problems by doing it. Ultimately, you're asking a question that has no defined answer (except "bad"/unsupported things)
that really doesn't matter if you follow the explicit guidance. If you don't, as William points out, that's a risk for you take and an answer for you to discover.

7.4.3.1 Enable a Platform for Your Mobile Client
Not all of the possible platforms are enabled on the Mobile client setup screen. To enable a platform for your client device, do the following:
On the Mobile Devices screen, click Platforms.
On the Platforms screen in the Search pulldowns, select the language and either Disabled or All and click Go.
Select the platform name that you want to enable.
Enable the device by selecting Yes in the Enable pulldown.
Click OK. The device is now enabled and will be visible in the client setup screen.
    =====================================================================
I was on the Platform screen before, but missed the "Enabled" setting under Search.  I looked at the screen and saw only the enabled list, and assumed this was 'all' of the platforms....
Once I switched the search setting from "Enabled" to "All" I saw my disabled SQLite options.
7.4.3.1 was under 7.4.3 Extend or Create a Custom Platform.  Wasn't trying to do either of these, so never looked under there before.  Only ran into it when I was going to attempt to create a custom SQLite platform.
I thought it was just a bad setting somewhere....  Just couldn't find where....
Thanks for all who looked at my question and userBDBDMS-Oracle for trying to help.
