9.2.2 upgrade to 10.4 via XPost Facto

Hello All,
I have been extremely frustrated with a recent upgrade from 9.1.1 to 10.4. I found that my model was the "ibook Dual USB" and bought an full install disk of 10.4 online. I tried to install the DVD and got this message:
"Startup Disk was unable to select the installl CD as the startup Disk(-2)"
After some research I tried to upgraded my firmware which I found was open, made sure my laptop was upgradable "which it was", and made sure my disk was the appropriate one... which it is. I am currently working with 9.2.2 and trying to upgrade to 10.4 and I am getting the same error.
I was reading a post in which a guy had the same problem as me and he mentioned XPostFacto4. I did some research and downloaded the application but I immediately ran into another problem....
When I start XPost Facto There are basically 2 boxes, this is what I see:
SELECT VOLUME: (Greyed Out)
ibook Harddrive
XPF 4 requires 10.2 or Later
SELECT CD: (not Greyed out)
Mac OS X 4 install DVD
Mac OS X 4 install CD
Now I was reading in the release notes that XPF 4 would update 9.2.2 to 10.4 "thats what its made for correct?" but I cant figure out for the life of me why the SELECT VOLUME selections are grey and 10.2 is required to run it??
Am i missing something..
Also on another note I am not to cheap to signup for XPF for help its just I don't want to sign up and find the product will not work at all. Ill register if I have a serious error during installation!

Hello Again Noncentz!
As I asked, in My Reply, to Your Previous Topic,
"Does the Full Retail Version, disc, look exactly like This one, and not say Upgrade, CPU Drop-in DVD, or "This software is part of a hardware bundle purchase - not to be sold seperately." on it?"
If not, it is an Upgrade or Model Specific disc, and probably is causing the problem."

You can set up more than one device on your computer, and iTunes will remember the settings for each of them:

But you'll have to use your Apple ID to sync bought media to her device. Disable all other things you don't want to sync like photos, contacts, etc.

  • How to auto upgrade to Cap 6 via subscription

    Good day!
I've been running Captivate 5.5 via the subscription model. I'd like to upgrade Captivate 6. I was on a customer service chat, and the support person said I'd be automatically upgraded and didn't have to do anything. Captivate 6 has been out a while, and I've been using 5.5 a lot. I've never been asked to upgrade. I asked the support person if I would be prompted to download the installer, and he said, "yes".
When I selecte Help > Updates ... I only get information for 5.5. What am I missing?
    Thanks a ton!

  • Upgrading the student edition via Online

    Hi.
I'm thinking of upgrading my student edition Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Master collection to a commercial edition. So I want to download the upgrade via online. Is this the correct way to do it? When I choose from what I want to upgrade, I don't find a student edition. Shall I choose 5.5 master collection? Is it gonna work well?
    I'll appreciate your help.
    Thanks

Yes, choosing CS5.5 as the version from which you are upgrading is the way to go.  There is no functional difference between a student version and what you call a commercial version.

  • Deleting upgrade registry during MUP via conntrans

We are just about to send out a MUP via conntrans but when we do, we get multiple messages about previous upgrades being successful.
I assume that this is because of the upgrade folder in the registry.
Is it possible to avoid this as it is confusing to the users? (We have tried deleting it as part of the MUP which works when run manually but not over conntrans)
Would the setting of the Clean Upgrade option when genearting the MUP stop this from happening?
    Many thanks
    James

    Hello james
You get multiple messages about previous upgrades being successful it is becuse When you execut e a MUP, Clent Upgrad Target scans the registry for the unsuccessful deployed MUPs and it will start deploying them as well, if they are not deployed properly during the first run.
It can be avoided using two ways.
    1. When creating the MUP from upgrade console, you can use the option clean upgrade.
    2. delete the all subkeys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\MSA\UPGRADES
so that when Client Upgrade Target runs, it will not find any enries in the registry hence it skips.
Solution 1 is the best .I would recommend you to go for clean upgrade option.
    Best Regards

  • Use of TFTP to upgrade CE XR router via mgmt vrf from PE XR router

I have a few CE routers that require an extra module loading.
These routers have no access to the default vrf on a core router, they can only be accessed for management via that vrf.
Is there any way to upload via TFTP (or any other protocol) an image file from one of the core routers to the CE?
I cannot find a way of instructing the client (CE) router to specify a VRF in the copy tftp command string. On the CE I have configured the tftp client to use the management vrf, but every copy attempt results in `no route to host' messages.
The routers are all ASR9000 running 4.3.0 code.
Initally these were configured using the default vrf and the copy process worked fine, but not when using another vrf.

    hi,
You would need to specify the management vrf. Example of copying a tar file to harddisk on the asr9k,
    then untarring it, and installing:
    a)copy ftp://user:[email protected];Mgmt_VRF/tftpboot/xr/423/ASR9K-iosxr-px-k9-4.2.3.tar harddisk:/sw/423
    b)cd harddisk:/sw/423 then type “run”
    c) tar –xvf ASR9K-iosxr-px-k9-4.2.3.tar   (to untar the tar image)
    d) admin install add source harddisk:/sw/423 asr9k-mini-px.pie-4.2.3 asr9k-mgbl-px.pie-4.2.3 asr9k-k9sec-px.pie-4.2.3 asr9k-mcast-px.pie-4.2.3 asr9k-mpls-px.pie-4.2.3 asr9k-fpd-px.pie-4.2.3 activate sync prompt-level none   (note the spaces!!)
Note: if you don’t have a management VRF, then the Mgmt_VRF CLI is not needed

Your upgrade commands look correct. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ips/6.0/configuration/guide/cli/cliImage.html#wp1243115
I've had some problems with Serv-U in the past year or so. I had to switch to FileZilla to perform my last upgrade.

  • Upgrade BB OS version via BB Mac Desktop Manager

I see a way to update the Desktop Manager and update the applications on board, but can I upgrade the OS?
    Thanks.

If you click on Applications, there should be a "Check For Updates" button at the bottom left. This will check if there are any newer versions of BlackBerry OS for your BlackBerry.

Did the upgrade go as you expected it to go? Yes. No Error messages. Model laptop is Toshiba Satellite C55-B (Stand-alone Laptop)

All software previously installed was retained and works properly. Some examples are GOM Playet, VMware Workstation 9, Skype, Teamviewer, MalwareBytes, Java, 7zip, CutePDF 2.8, and Toshiba Service Station.

It’s been one week since the free Windows 10 upgrade was released! In case you’re wondering what the termafter-action review (AAR) means, it’s a term from my days of being in theArmy and it’s used to review a training or event. One of the parts I liked most about doing anAAR was the ability to provide insights for leadership about the event. Here’s what Ipropose: respond to the...

  • I have to replace my Hard Drive and I upgraded to Mountain Lion via iTunes download. Am I going to face issues?

I'm planing on installing a Seagate Momentus LP 1TB internal drive. I've read that it is difficult to formatt the HD to macs on OS systems prior to Mountain Lion. I was running ML when I crashed but I don't have an instalation disk for Mountain Lion given that I downloaded it from iTunes. Any advice or words of wisdom. Thank you.

Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion on a New HDD/SDD
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
    1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    2. After DU loads select your external hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Failed TM backup after Mavericks upgrade via clean install. Nothing works incl. "tmutil" command. The time points appear but not clickable.

I upgraded to Mountain Lion via clean install. Restoring my data via migration assistant failed. Then I tried Time Machine. Altough I can see all backup time points no one is active. Then I tried to inherent and to associate the backups to the "new" disk, but it didn´t work.
    Thanks in advance

Hit the nail on the head Eric, I have quite a lot in there due to system age, so turned them all off and had a nice fast system returned with no hanging.
so definately something in the startup group and i will try each at a time and see where the problem comes from..
Looking at more logs my guess is the problem will be with one of -
    sabnzbd
    sickbeard
both of which starting on login, both using databases and im seeing sql errors on startup...
more info when i have enabled/disabled some more apps.
