  • Male 8 pin Mini Din Mac to USB adapter cable

I have an old Opcode Translator Pro Midi interface that I used with an old Mac. The CPU and Thru connections used an 8 pin Mini Din Mac cable via Printer or Modem input on the Mac. The unit is G8 as it has 2 In and 6 Out Midi sockets which I want to use with my keyboard controller (non USB) and a Roland MT-120 Synth. I now have a new iMac which uses USB 2 and Firewire. Is there such a cable which has USB on one end and Male 8 pin Mini Din Mac on the other? Or wouldnt this type of connection work?
Is it possible to convert the Opcode Translator Pro somehow to USB 2?

    allyshake,
Sounds like you have done a good job of thinking this through.  A new adapter box makes a lot of sense.  Have you considered finding a new home for the older equipment so that the complete set gets used?

  • 4 Pole mini plug to 9 pin Mini DIN Adpater cable in Australia?

I have been trying to contact Creative Labs Australia about this particular adpater cable but i am only getting a reply saying that, only the manager knows about it so i have been leaving messages for him to contact me for the last 4 days!!!!!!!!!!!
Does anybody know where i can buy this cable in Australia? Creative part number is CB2032000002.
This cable is used to connect the Audigy2 Platinum Ex I/O Module to either DTT2500 or DTT3500 speakers using the the DIN connector. As the I/O Module doesn't have the DIN output i will need to use the 4 pole 3.5mm miniplug to be converted into 9 pin mini DIN.
Desperetely seeking this product. Can anyone help me please

If it makes you feel any better theres no where to buy this cable in the States either. Theres only 2 places I've found so far that sells this cable. One is creative which currently lists it as "out of stock" and this place:
    http://www.globalsources.com/gsol/I/Mini-DIN-Plug/p/2000000003844/30000004968/bg/006604.htm
Only problem with that site is that it only sells the cable in lots of 3000, so you have to buy 3000 of them. If anyone knows of a place to get this cable please let me know as well.

Currently I'm using the RED version from FPS2000, but I get no sound for Center speakers and SubW. So I suspect both cables are different internally although the connectors are the same.
Anyone knows where to get it in Msia.. or can I buy it from Creative Spore?
    OR
Anyone using this set with analog mode, then can sell this DIN cable to me..

    IS THIS MAC COMPATIBLE

It should work, but the narrow viewing angle means it probably has a TN LCD panel, so there may be color banding, and it may be hard to calibrate.
You will need a mini-DVI to DVI adapter (and a DVI cable).

  • Have scanner with mini din port. convert to usb?

hate to toss old visioneer paperport B & W with mini din port.   Could probably be used with my macbook with a usb port.  guess there is no converter.  have searched online.

Is it a PaperPort Vx from approx. 1996? That model could be used over a serial connection (or SCSI, if a special SCSI adapter was added).
Even if it were possible to connect the scanner to a modern computer (for example, via a USB-to-serial adapter), I guess that compatible scanner software would be hard to find (two drivers for earlier Mac systems can be found through http://support.visioneer.com/products/Sheetfed/downloads.asp).
Do you still have an older Macintosh computer? If so, one could perhaps scan documents there, and then use a network to transfer files to a modern Mac (exact method depending on the type of computers involved). If not, you may even want to buy an old Macintosh computer just for the purpose (to be used as a "converter"). The minimum requirements appear to have been a 68020 processor Mac with System 7.

  • I CANT FIND A 4-PIN MINI MOLEX CONNECTOR

I installed a USB 3 interface. It requires a 4-pin mini molex connector. I have an available connector but it isnt long enough so I need an extension. I did and exhaustive internet search. Cant find it anywhere.
I would appreciate any help. Thank you.
    R

Look for a 4-pin molex to 4-pin mini molex converter.  That should fix the length issue (assuming you have an unused molex connector) since I do not believe an extension even exists for these types of power connectors in the first place.

  • Use of 15 pin external monitor socket query

I want to record my display to a VCR machine using a 3 RCA phone plug input which I currently use for my DVD player using Red/White and Yellow RCA lead - have tried using a VGA to RCA lead plugged into the ext. monitor skt. But the lead I have has Red/Green and Blue phone plugs which doesn't appear to work and when the VGA plug was connected caused the size/layout of the laptop display to change with no apparent connection to the vcr - is there a lead connector that will work?
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi maxstick1949,
I agree with Andrej. Your posting is a little bit confusing and I also dont know what you want to do now. Did you read your posting after writing?
I can only say that the VGA port on your notebook is an output port. That means you can use this port for an external monitor but you can record movies because its not an input port.

  • "mini DIN" to Standard Adapter - where did they g

Is there any way someone can get one of these adapters? Or is there another option for connecting standard MIDI cables to the (first) Soundblaster Audigy card? My card only came with one adapter and I need another one. Is it possible to get one in the USA?Message Edited by damagd on 04-7-200703:48 AM

Thanks for the link Joeywhat, but as I said in my original post, I li've in the US. I know that the cable is available from Dolphon Music, but this shipping charge to the US would be ?40, which would make the total cost nearly US$00.
Jupata, I know the cable is available in a couple of E-MU cable "bundles", but again, these are apparently not available for sale in the US.

  • Need help hooking up Maxent 42" Plasma to mac mini

i have a newly acquired maxent 42" plasma product number mx42xm11 i called their rep and he said it wouldnt work but i have read a couple forums where people have gotten other maxent monitors to work i was wondering if someone could help me set this one up.

    I searched and found this:
    Input/Output connections
    2 x Composite video input (RCA phono), 1 x DVI-HDCP (24 pin digital DVI), 2 x S-Video input (4 pin mini-DIN), 2 x HD component input (RCA phono x 3), 1 x VGA input (15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15)), 6 x Audio line-in (RCA phono x 2), 1 x Subwoofer output (RCA phono), 1 x Audio line-out (RCA phono x 2), 1 x VGA output (15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15)), 1 x Serial (9 pin D-Sub)
It looks as simple as connecting a standard VGA cable from the Mini to the VGA port. It also listed the resolution as 1024x768, which is a standard 4:3 resolution.
You could also try a DVI cable as long as your DVI input looked similar to tha back of your Mini.
    Where would you need help?

  • Quadro FX 3800 spdif pin identification

    Hi,
I have a Quadro FX 3800 graphics card. I am attempting to hook up the Spdif connection between the card and the Spdif-out on my motherboard. The motherboard pins are identified (GRND, etc) but the Spdif pins on the card are not.. I have checked the circuit, top and sides of the board; documentation, web search - including the Nvidia and PNY websites (PNY markets the same board). I was wondering if anyone could identify the Ground and Spdif pin orientation from their own setup? (For example.: Is the Ground pin or the Spdif pin closest to the 4 pin mini-din connection located adjacent to the Spdif pins.)
I know a simple solution might be to try the cable in either orientation and see what way provides sound through the display port, but here is why I would rather not: Motherboard Spif > Quadro > displayport > hdmi adapter > video processor > video processor pass-through > receiver. As you can see, I need to ensure proper pin placement first, as there are too many other variables that may be responsible for no audio being produced out of the speakers!
    Thanks in advance,
    Greg

the FX 3800 would somehow need an audio signal connected to the board for it to output audio.   as far as i know, the 3800 does not have an internal audio connector.   i have a 4800 and know for a fact that it cannot output audio over displayport.   i'm sure the rest of the workstation cards are the same.
some of nvidia's desktop cards have a two-pin audio connector on the side of the card that can connect with your sound card to output audio over HDMI.   if you need this feature, perhaps you should consider a desktop card rather than a workstation card.

i have a question... i have fx5200-t128 and when i connect with my TV the screen on tv is black and tight... TV producted in 1990 and maybe not serve NTSC format... but on the box there was a word NTSC/PAL... what should i do???

few weeks ago i have ELSA ERAZOR X2 and i did't have any problems
    HELP PLEASE;]]]

    Hi,
Sorry, I've got a bit lost in the descriptions of what cables you have, and how many pins are on the graphics card TV-Out connector. As I am not familiar with your graphics card, I can only offer general advice. I guess you have one of the following three options (please let me know if you have something different)
    1) 4-pin [Y/C, aka S-Video] socket (only) on gfx card, 4-pin male to RCA cable.
In this situation, you either need to find a way to tell the gfx card to output Composite video on the Y pin (3) of the Y/C connector, or else modify the cable by connecting a 470pF capacitor between pins 3 & 4 of the Y/C plug, with the inner wire of the coaxial cable also connected to pin 3.
    2) 9-pin (or anything > 4 pins) socket on gfx card, 9-pin plug to 4-pin socket (only) cable, and 4-pin plug to RCA plug cable.
The solutions to 1) also apply in this case. However, there should also be a composite video signal available on one of the other pins on the 9-pin socket. In this case, you could use a different adapter lead, which picks up the correct composite signal. Finding out which pin to pick up could be a challenge though. I have an adapter from a Jaton video card, from 9-pin male to 4-pin female [Y/C] and RCA female. If I orient the plug so that it has 2 pins on the bottom row, 4 pins on the middle row, and 3 on the top row, then the Y & C signals on the 4-pin socket connect to the outer 2 pins on the top row, with the commons connected to the pin on the middle row which is slightly seperated from the other 3 pins in that row. The inner of the RCA connector goes to the middle of those 3 pins in the middle row, with the outer connected to the outer of those 3 pins. (I hope this makes sense, I don't have a handy reference of pin numbering on a 9-pin Mini-DIN connector. However, your card may well use a different pin-out scheme.
    3) 9-pin socket on gfx card, 9-pin Male to 4-pin Female [Y/C] AND RCA socket (i.e. a Y-adapter cable). If this is the case, then just use a standard RCA-RCA cable (a proper Video cable is best, but an audio cable will work, especially for testing)
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

  • Recording Tv to Mac

    Hi All,
I have recently got into online gaming, and want to record videos on to my Apple Mac.
My TV has the following connections:
    1 x composite video/audio input ( RCA phono x 3 )
    1 x S-Video input ( 4 PIN mini-DIN )
    1 x SCART ( 21 PIN SCART )
    1 x audio line-out
Does any one have any suggestions of how I would go about this?
    Thanks
    Ben

You can't get a signal from your TV to the MacBook. You need a receiver to hook to your MacBook and have your antenna or cable system hooked to that. I use one of the elgato firewire systems and it works great. I have heard good things about miglia also.
