90W through OneLink Dock

Hi,
I was wondering if it is safe to use a 90W adapter through a OnelinkDock. The specified input is 3.25A at 20V, but my laptop powered through the dock still sees a 90W adapter connected.
Thanks

Hello,
go to Device Manager and remove the device there.
Then go to "Uninstall or change program" and uninstall the "ThinkPad OneLink Dock" by Lenovo.
Restart the computer and download the driver again from this link:

This has sorted out the issue on my S440

  • 5g nano no longer plays sound through (any) dock!?

I recently got a brand new dock, and it is, without a doubt compatible, with the 5G nano.
It played out loud through the dock with no problems for a few weeks, but it suddenly stopped transferring the sound through to the dock the other day, and instead, now, it just plays through the external speaker on the actual iPod. I tried it through my friend's dock too, and the same thing happened.
This is all to do with the internal connection, because when it first happened, I found that if i wiggled it around in the dock and held it at a certain angle, it played. However, that only lasted a few minutes and then it just stopped playing through the dock altogether.
It's strange because it connects to the computer fine through the exact same slot, and I can transfer music fine.
Saying that...on the day ot happened, the song I had just transferred from the comp onto the iPod magically disappeared from the device. That was weird. So I had to put it on again. And it definately went on the first time; I saw it in the playlist.
Anyway, all I can think of is that I have 'dislodged' something inside the iPod when connecting it into to the dock, or i've 'pushed something out of place internally' maybe...because I have not been using the dock adaptor (the iPod doesn't fit inside the adaptor because it has a plastic case over it). So maybe i've pushed it too far down into the dock slot or something?
Can anyone tell me if they've had this problem too?
Or if so, how much would this kind of thing cost to get repaired? Or have I mucked it up so bad I may as well give up now and get a new one (unless I never want to use a dock again)?

I just purchased my 30gb video iPod, and am running into almost the exact same situation. The only difference is that I don't have to reset it. It just won't play a movie at all. It starts the little "timer" thing that clicks around, but then goes back out of the movie. I know the movie is a good download, because I can watch it from start to finish within iTunes.
Anyone got any ideas? I really don't want to stay on hold for 1-2 hours waiting on a person to talk to with tech support!

  • My ipod touch wont play through my docking station

hiya i have an ipod touch. aout a week ago it stopped working with my docking station. it wont play through the docking station speakers. ive tried two other ipods on the station and they work fine so its clearly a problem with my ipod. the ipod registers that its plugged into a charging source and starts playing music when its plugged in but through its own speakers rather then the docking station. i've tried doing a full factory reset and that didnt work. does anybody have any suggestions?

    - Inspect the dock connector for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.

My 30-pin dock is connected to my lightning to 30-pin connector which is connected to my iPod touch 5g. But my iPod will only charge, and will not play music through my dock, only through the iPod's internal speaker. Help please!

Have you tried resetting both the iPod and dock? To reset the iPod, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
To reset the dock, unplug it and plug it back in.

  • T400 DVI Out through Mini Dock

The T400 has no DVI output plug. However with my old A31p which likewise has no DVI-out, I can get DVI from it through its docking station. Is it the same for the T400? When docked to the ThinkPad Advanced Mini Dock, will I be able to get DVI from it?

Unfortunately, according to the Specifications posted at
    http://shop.lenovo.com/ISS_Static/merchandising/US/PDFs/t400_and_t500_datasheet.pdf
the T500 has DisplayPort but the T400 does not. So no digital video output from the T400 unless through docking station.
I would strongly prefer the brighter WXGA+ LED-backlit screen which is only available on the T400 (T500 only has WXGA), AND the DisplayPort that is only available on the T500.
It seems you can't get both the higer resolution LED and the digital output on the same Txxx series notebook.

  • Lenovo OneLink Dock with Multiple Monitors

    Hi,
I ordered an S431 (which only has one HDMI port for display output). I currently use two monitors from my laptop, and was wondering if the OneLink dock would allow me to continue to do so. Would I be able to connect to one monitor using the HDMI output from the dock and another from the laptop, or will using the dock disable the HDMI output on the laptop?
    Thank you!

    Michael_Y wrote:
Yes, it allow to use HDMI from the dock and HDMI from laptop together. You can use your two monitors.
Actually you can also use your laptop LCD with two external together.
That means you have total 3 screen at the same time.
Try it, when you get it
That sort of defeats the purpose. That is why I stick with the "classic" Lenovo USB 3.0 dock. There at least you can connect two (DVI) monitors to the dock. The Onelink concept is ruined by having to connect a second monitor to your laptop. Ideally, the Onlink dock would have 2(!) HDMI connectors on the dock itself, as well as an option to swap the Onelink cable for a USB 3.0 cable. The "classic" Lenovo USB 3.0 dock has this and therefore can also be used on Macbooks, which allows me to alternate between my MacBook Air and my X1 Carbon

  • ThinkPad OneLink Dock USB Probleme

    Hallo Forum,

    Hallo zusammen,
will hier mal ein Update eintragen.

  • How to undock Thinkpad Yoga from Onelink Docking station?

I used the search but I couldn't find the answer to my problem, so here it is:
I've got a Thinkpad Yoga and a Onelink Docking station but I can't figure out how to safely hot undock.
I cannot find any option to undock and just ripping of the onelink cable doesn't feel to be quite safe ?!?
    Thanx for your help.

    Welcome to the forum!
Even if it were physically possible, you wouldn't be able to use both Ethernet ports at the same time, because the motherboard doesn't support more than one connection at the time.

  • Is There Any Way To Access Videos Except Through The Dock?

The section of screen where the dock is located does not respond to touch on my ipod, sending it to get repaired is too cost prohibitive from my location. Is there some alternate method for accessing the music, videos, podcasts etc apart from through the dock? or maybe some tip to make the dock work again?

Here is an article about troubleshooting touch screen response. It's written for the iPhone, but is equally applicable to the iPod Touch.

  • Listening to nano through ipod dock and external speakers

    Hi,
Need some help here. I've just upgraded from my old 10gb iPod to a nano, and everything is fine until I try to listen to it through my external JBL creature speakers. I've plugged the nano into an ipod dock, which is connected to the speakers, and no sound is coming out. I plugged in my old ipod, and it worked fine. Any help?
    Cheers

David, here's my interpretation of what you just posted:
iPod nano Dock enables quick connectivity if you have a desktop computer without an easily accessible USB 2.0 port. No more reaching behind the computer to plug it in — just place iPod nano in the dock and it’s ready to sync with iTunes and charge its battery. <<</div>
This means that the dock connection connects to the internal battery and allows you to transfer data (sync w/ iTunes).
And you can plug a stereo mini cable to its line-out port and enjoy a clean, direct connection to a stereo or powered speakers<<</div>
This means you can plug a stereo mini cable into the same port you use to plug in your headphones. The other end would go into your stereo or powered speakers. Which means no dock connection with line out audio!
I would not be able to use the nano with my Altec Lansing speakers or my Sik Imp (which is how I listen to my iPod mini in my Honda Element). So no nano for me!
Apple's marketing strategy is all too clear to me now. They didn't discontinue the mini, their best selling iPod, because that's what everyone is trying to copy. They discontinued it because they felt sales of the mini were cannibalizing sales of hte regular iPod. If you wanted something more compact than the iPod but wanted dock connectivity to all the various accessories, you bought a mini. Now you buy the nano for compactness AND the regular iPod to use with the accessories. So where one product satisfied two needs for the average user (not the afficianados that have iPod collections) Apple will now happily sell you two products.
To all those people who asked what the mini has that the nano doesn't, this looks like it: line out audio through the dock connection. A very important feature!

  • I can't make my ipod play through a docking station tge the music comes out tge ipod how do I solve this?

I can't seem to get my ipod to play music through a docking system the sound only comes from the ipod itself?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Audio through headphones, dock connector randomly replaced with weak buzzing

Just had my iPhone 3GS (32GB) replaced under AppleCare. This new one, upon connecting an audio outptut device, will fail to actually output audio during iPod App playback or phone calls. There will be a faint "pop" upon connection, followed by a low buzzing with a pattern following the expected audio output (the music, the caller's voice, etc.). Nothing clears it up except removing/reconnecting the connected audio device a number of times - and that number is completely random. Rebooting the iPhone doesn't necessarily fix this, either.
It seemed to be a headphone jack / headset issue at first, but now I've also discovered the exact same issue with audio output through the dock connector, e.g. the iPod connector in my car, my iHome speaker dock.
Neither the built-in speaker nor Bluetooth streaming exhibit this issue.
I hesitate to take this back to the Apple Store, because it is so intermittent and impossible to reproduce at will.
What's happening? How can I at least zero in on this issue to get help from AppleCare (again...)?

The site name and layout changed. The lack of helpfulness stayed the same.
