915G Neo2 won't boot win XP with onboard LAN enabled

Just wondering if anyone can solve my problem. Have got a 915G Neo2 board running with Windows XP. On enabling the onboard LAN in the BIOS it won't boot Windows....the following error is displayed on a windows blue screen
"0x0000007E   pci.sys - Address F75DE0BF base at F75D7000"
Anyone got any idea how i can get this to work?
Thanks.

  • Lion won't boot (difficult upgrade with relocated home folder)

i seem to be having a very difficult upgrade and am hoping for some more help.
i have a 2006 mac pro with LION on the drive in bay 1, a partition of windows 7 on drive 1 and my HOME FOLDER on the drive in bay 3. i also have a drive in disk 2 which contains a CLONE of the OS on drive disk 3 started reporting a need to Repair when running DU - and this Repair ran into complications - so i just decided to upgrade to a new 2012 computer and move along.
right now i have all my data and yosemite on the new 2012.
/however/ my TIME MACHINE drive will not mount on the new computer and even when i try to force it to mound (right click on the drive in DU) it will not mount and asks if i want to initialize it.
so i tried to boot into the 2006 computer with LION in order to see if i can get the TIME MACHINE drive to mount and no i enter my password and now this computer won't boot and i am getting a cannot boot error of some kind (this happens after i enter my password). i have /also/ tried this with my external CLONE of the OS drive in bay 1 and i also get this error.
    so here are my questions:
    1. i moved some data around on the HOME FOLDER disk in drive 3 and i am wondering if possibly this is the issue. also, this drive was reporting as needing repair and has still not been repaired. can i remove this disk, put it in the new computer, REFORMAT it and then CLONE my external backup of this drive back to this drive - and then place it back in the old machine and see if this works?
    2. can i take the drive in bay 2 that has the CLONE of my OS drive in bay 1 and put it in bay 1 and try and boot into LION off this drive?
i would like to keep LION running in part because i have a couple of boot camp installations (one i would like to migrate over to the new machine) but also because i want to see if i can still have access to the Time Machine backup.
thanks for any help as i'd like to get unstuck a bit here.

All the various boot key combinatiuons should be pressed immediately after your hear the boot chime.

  • K8t Neo2 won't run dual channel with Opteron 165

    Hi,
I have a K8t Neo 2, and was running a Newcastle 3500+ on it, with 2x1GB PC3200 memory sticks (Buffalo memory) in dual channel mode (ie DIMM 1 and DIMM 3 populated) without any problems.  I replaced the 3500+ with a new Opteron 165, and the system would not post.  One of the red lights on the D-bracket was red, the rest were out.
To troubleshoot, I removed one of the memory sticks, and the system booted fine.  I then put the 2nd memory stick in a non-dual channel setup (DIMM 1 and DIMM 2 populated), and it booted fine.  If I try booting the system with the RAM in any dual channel enabled configuration, it will not post.  I verified that it isn't a RAM issue, because I have 2 sticks of 512 MB ShikaXRam, which has always worked fine, and I got the same behavior as I got with the Buffalo RAM.  I have tried changing the RAM clocking in the BIOS, and that also doesn't help, because it seems it reads the speed automatically no matter what you set the DRAM clocking page to.
Does anyone have any suggestions?  Is this board not Opteron 165 compatible with dual channel memory?

Alright, I tried all of the steps mentioned, setting optimized defaults, even tried changing all memory timings to the most conservative available.  The only way the system will boot with 2 DIMMs installed is if they are in the two slots furthest from the CPU.  It will also post with 3 DIMMs installed in any configuration.
I also have a generic 500 w PSU that is rated 32a on the 12v rail that I tried quickly plugging in (just plugged the 2 PSU connectors to the motherboard without hooking any of the IDE devices to it)  It still exhibits the same behaviour.  With no hard drives, optical drives, etc plugged in, wouldn't that pretty much eliminate the PSU as an issue?
I don't want to just spend $100 on a new PSU if it's highly unlikely to be the issue.  Does this sound like something I'd need to replace the motherboard to fix?  Is the performance difference between dual channel and single channel enough to even warrant buying a new board?  The reason I want to avoid replacing the board right now is because I still have an AGP card, and don't want to replace it right now as well as the board, and getting another AGP based board seems to be stupid.  Also, AGP boards are really hard to find now, and most of them available locally run on the ULi chipset

  • P55-GD65 BSOD With onboard audio enabled

    Hello all,
I bought a new computer with a P55-GD65 motherboard 2 weeks ago and Im getting a random blue screen when the onboard audio is enabled in the BIOS.
Im using the latest BIOS version mainboard drivers. Im running a legal version of Windows 7 home premium and installed all updates.
The blue screen appears in all situations, browsing the internet, playing a game, even when the machine is just turned on and im not working on it.
Here parts of the latest dump files:
    1. string:SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
    bug check code: 0x0000003b
    caused by driver: win32k.sys
    2. string: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
    bug check code: 0x0000001e
    caused by driver: ntoskrnl.exe
II did search a lot for this errors and found no relationship with onboard audio, the weird thing is the BSOD are only happening when onboard audio is enabled on my system.
Any idea how to fix this, it would be great because the onboard audiocard is working alright with games and teamspeak. I have tried a X-FI Titanium card of Creative that was not working.
    Hope someione can help.
    Kind regards,
    Lex

I am not overclocking the system, the BIOS has default values with onboard audio disabled at the moment.
    Now once again the problem:
If I enable the onboard audio controller the systems crashed with a blue screen. Somethimes it takes an hour, somethimes it crashed within 2 minutes after booting.
It doesnt matter what Im doing, even when I just startup the machine and aint using it because Im making some cofee its stuck at a blue screen when I come back.
If I disable the onboard audio controller It does not crash, I can leave the system on all day without a problem.

  • Prob with onboard LAN!

It doesn't seem to want to work when I run my board in dual-channel mode!
I'm using my old generic 3com card in the meantime...but I might need that PCI slot.
I'm using the 6743, or the GM2LS, which is an mATX board with a p4 2.8c.  No OC'ing, stock voltage on the CPU and my 2x 512 Corsair matched memory.
Win XP Pro SP1, 400W Antec SmartPower PSU.
    Just updated all my drivers.
    Any ideas anyone?

You board has an onboard 10/100Mbps LAN right? Disable the onboard LAN so that you PCI Lan card can be use.

  • Problem with onboard LAN

    Hi,
I have the following problem: After playing around with overclocking and having to reset the CMOS a couple of times, my onboard LAN stops working even if I don't overclock anything. No ping, and the traffic LED is always on. And most interesting, when I shutdown my computer the traffic LED stays on. Is this a BIOS bug or what? Anyone experiencing the same problem?

Well as you know Overclocking Can sometimes Fry something, or Everything on the Board, This is why it is Dangerous....But Before we go there, I assume that you Have Tried Disabling and then Re-Enabling the LAN in the BIOS, And in the "Device-Manager"?......And do you have in the Device Manager (Under-Network Connections) the LAN Listed? And if Click on it, does it say "Device Enabled, and Working Properly"?....If yes, then You are going to have to try to Clear The NVRAM in the BIOS by Enabling this option, and this will Reset the PNP/PCI String, and Hopefully that will be it.....If not, Go into the Device-Manager, and Uninstall the Driver, then Reinstall it......Try that, and let us know, And if you already did all of these things, then You May have Bigger Issues................Sean REILLY875

  • Can't load Mandrake 9 with onBoard sound enabled.

    Any ideas as to why?
I can not boot into Mandrake 9 when I have onBoard sound enabled, it always freezes when it tries to load the i810 sound interface system. Yet when I disable it in the bios it loads perfectly.
I've already installed the nForce system drivers and that didn't help at all. Likely because it didn't know the sound card was there to install for.

I know your problem.Your not editing the modules.conf and adding these lines.Use vi command to edit. You may have one or more of these lines in your modules.conf and will only need to add the ones you don't have.I only had to add the audio line.
#vi /etc/modules.conf,press INSERT key, add the following lines,
    alias eth0 mcpeth
    alias sound-slot-1 i810_audio
    alias usb-interface usb-ohci
press ESC, (Shift) colon, wq and Enter.
This will save the changes you made.

  • Mid-2011 iMac won't boot Win 8.1 (BC) w/ ACD 30 attached

I have a 27" mid-2011 iMac Core i7 with two external displays, an ACD 30" and a 20" HP. I spent a great deal of time watching Win 8.1 in a reboot loop after install (Apple Drivers installed fine), sometimes with vertical lines down the ACD 30 (nothing on the HP). (I didnt expect Win to notice the more than one DisplayPort screen.) Finally I disconnected the displays and I booted into 8.1 fine.
IS this a thing? Others share this experience?
Thats not the end of my Boot Camp woes, but that's all tied to this issue.
    BP

Can you provide details on how each these displays are connected?
From iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011) - Technical Specifications, you have two TB ports, which can support DP connections.

  • Boot Camp won't boot Win 7 DVDs /Cloned disks - White cursor flashes once then Black Screen of Death.

    Hi Guys,
I am having a serious issue with my machines ability to use boot camp. Here's what happend: I had Win 7 installed on the BOOTCAMP partition for a long while, then one day my HD crashed. So naturally I got my HD replaced from Apple and got Lion reinstalled and wokring flawlessly. Then I planned to get my Boot Camp going again, but my computer has a will against it I swear.  So I run Boot Camp Assistant , create the parition and reboot. At this point I have my Win 7 disk burned using Disk utility in the drive, I am using a dvd disk image from Microsofts online store.  I reboot and the computer hangs at the "pick a harddrive" grey for a second. Then the DVD drive spins up and I get a black screen, then for ever so slight a moment there is a flash of a white _ a the top left, then flash , nothing, the screen remains illumniated. Now I tried this multiple times , let it run over night , and nothing. Its almost as if my laptop will no longer boot the style of dvd that win 7 is.
Being a diagnostics first type of a person I tested all the variables, the win 7 cd works fine in other macbook pros. My computer boots other mac os x DVDs without a problem.  I also tried using winclone to create a copy of another machines Boot Camp and flash it to my BOOT CAMP drive but this has the exact same result! Therefore it seems that the underlying system that runs my Macs ability to boot from Windows-style? partitions and dvd is broken. I also tried installing rEFIt, but that doesn't seem to help. I also tried booting off of an external USB drive with the same result. I tried zapping p-ram , scm and doing all software updates.
Has anyone expereinced anything like this? Anyone found resolution to a similar issue? Any other tricks related to Macs EFI and boot process that I could use to debug this? Anywhere that EFI stores logs possibly?
I went to the Apple's Genius Bar and they were stumped on my issue. I felt that they should be able to fix it considering it booted fine before I had Apple replace my HD.
Thanks to any responders, I'm really hitting my head on the table now and would love some help.

Have you reset the PRAM? It should usually be done when replacing any hardware. Have you got the latest EFI firmware for your Mac?
Not knowing what model /YEAR your MBP is (not that it would help me too much but the other fellas probably would) it's hard to guess as there are issue's for different models. The only thing I could find was it's usually caused by a non-conforming video driver. Microsoft had a page on it I found by accident and now I can't find it!
WinClone hasn't been updated by the original author in over a year, others have tweeked it a little to work with W7 but seems to be semi reliable, so the be aware.
Unless the other MBP's are identical in Model AND year your putting older or incompatible drivers on your MBP. Boot Camp, (especially if your using the drivers on the original install disks, like 10.6 and earlier) will only install for that specific computer. Just like the OS installer.
    EDIT:
Oh yeah, are you sure you have the partition formatted the right way, thats another black screen problem.

  • Why won't Boot Camp work with 17" MBP??

Hey guys, I saw a thread earlier yesterday about this and didn't think much of it, however now that I'm trying to install the boot camp driver disk once windows is installed I keep getting that "this software is not compatible with this hardware" message and the drivers won't install!! Does anyone know a workaround on this yet? I hope apple addresses this soon because I need to get at some windows files soon. Has anyone found a solution to why the driver disk that boot camp makes won't install when you're on windows? Thanks.

I would assume because those drivers are made specifically for the 15'' MBP.
I believe it uses drivers for the trackpad, etc....which are probably different on the 17''.
Lastly, I would assume that while boot camp is awesome, it might not be on the top of apple's priority list. Problems with "new released 17'' MBP's" are probably higher on the totem pole.

  • Macbook Pro won't boot AT ALL with USB HD plugged in

This is a recent problem and I don't know if it's an issue with my external HD or the macbook. I have a Western Digital 500GB MyBook HD that I use for Time Machine. When I reboot my computer with the hard drive plugged in, it hangs endlessly when booting up before the apple even appears. The startup chime comes on, and the screen turns color, but it does not get farther than that with the hard drive plugged in.
Additionally, if I unplug the HD, let the computer boot, and plug it back in when it's booted, the HD won't mount and I get the error in the console that a USB device has not responded for 5 seconds and is timing out. This repeats over and over again. To get the drive to mount again, I have to unplug the USB, unplug the power to the drive, and then plug the power back in, and then plug the USB back in.
Doing this, the drive will work normally again until my next reboot. I have tried Disk Utility's verify disk and it has found no problems.
    Any suggestions?

I've recently been having the same problems, maybe within the last week or so... My Macbook pro will chime, get to the blue screen and sit there... until I either unplug or plug in a usb cable. My external drive is a Hitachi Deskstar 500GB. I've repaired permissions and such... I have noticed that I can boot into Safe Mode with ease.. so, there is something happening here, I just don't know what.
Any ideas would be wonderful, thanks in advance.
    update
Also, question for Mikooster... did your problem start after installing Office 2008 ? I'm curious, that's the only recent thing I've installed that I can remember.

  • Laptop won't boot in windows with lan enabled in BIOS

    Hi,
    Toshiba A200-AH3. Windows 7.
So at one point it stopped loading windows 7, it would load until this point (loading screen for windows 7). So, I reinstalled Windows 7 (once format). Twice. It still didn't work. So, somebody gave me the idea to disable everything in bios, which I did. And then it worked. So I went back and just enabled the 2nd CPU in bios and that's about it. A few days ago I needed to connect the lan and I went to bios and enabled lan. Guess what, it would stop at the loading screen just like before.
Safe mode does not work either.
With lan turned off in bios, I went to Toshiba.ca and installed the Realtek-Network-Driver6.189.1213.2006 for Windows Vista (as they say this should work on win7 too). Enabled lan and it still didn't boot windows.
    What are my options?

I would need to make the Lan work.
You can obtain an ExpressCard for the LAN. Here are a few at NewEgg.
how do I flash the bios.
I'm assuming you have 32-bit Windows. This should work in Windows 7 as well.

  • My early '06 iMac won't boot, just clicks with question mark on screen. SMC reset, Pram reset can bring it up, works OK for a day or two, then back to no boot. disk utility finds no problem with disk

anytime I get it to boot, it works for a day or two then goes back to the Question mark screen.

Hi! It could be HD issue. You should back up your data in the computer first when you can boot to normal desktop. boot to install disk to run disk utility - if it got error over there, you should bring the computer to repair centre to fix it. You also could try to erase with zero out and install again And see will that be fix the issue!

  • T410: How to dual boot Win 7 with Ubuntu?

I would like to keep my original win 7 config, but to add the option to dual boot into ubuntu 10.10 as my primary OS. Anyone had experience on how to go about doing this?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Ok, if this is what your asking; I have Win7 and I use the fingerprint reader to log into windows. I installed ubuntu using those steps listed above and it does the partition itself safely. And the fingerprint reader still works for windows. No issues. Just make sure (looking at picture 3 and 4) that you select install alongside others OS's, on picture 4 you can see a slider bar. The first section will show you your windows partition, the 2nd part is what you can move to choose how much space you want ubuntu to partition for itself. So no need to partition it your self.
