is there is any thing i can do ??
thanks alot
Try increasing your DDR Voltage by 0.1v and see if it helps with system stability.
You can also check if the speed of the RAMs are properly detected in BIOS and if the latencies are reported correctly.

Hi There,
i have here two PQI DDR400 PC3200 512MB dual-sided, one crusial DDR400 PC3200 512MB one-sided and one crusial DDR400 PC3200 1024MB dual-sided.
Here's the problem:
When i install all the four modules my computer wont bootup it will only give one long beep inducating that there is a memory problem. All four modules where tested separetly with no problems. I have now only the two crusial modules on my Neo 2 Platinum running with no problems.
Can some one help me so i can use all four modules please???????Assuming they will all work together, it sounds like the BIOS isn't set up properly, or the board isn't detecting the speed correctly. When installing more than 2 dimms, most boards, due to the memory controller on the CPU, will set the RAM to the 166 divider, or DDR333. Generally it will also set them to the 2T command rate.
If you have a Winchester core you will more than likely need to run DDR333 with the 2T setting. On a Venice you may be able to get away with DDR400...I know on an Opteron you can do DDR400 with the 2T command rate easy enough...I will assume it is probably the same with the newer cores as well.
Again, IF they all work together (mixing and matching dimms may not always work), you may just need to set the BIOS up properly. Pop in the sticks that work, go into the BIOS and set the RAM to the 166 divider, and then make sure the command rate is on 2T. Be sure all the RAM can run the timings that are set in the BIOS. Save and exit. Then power down and unplug the PC, pop in the other stick and see what happens.
If that doesn't work, you can try different slots, or an even a lower RAM divider (probably won't make a difference). IMO, if all the settings are correct and it still won't work, I would guess that mixing the RAM is the problem. I have seen it happen - I have also had weird RAM configs work perfectly, so it is kind of hit or miss...I hope some of that helps, good luck. -
K8N Neo Platinum - Reboot problems
This is very strange.......
Just bare with me as I try to explain.
I just orderd a new system to build from scratch and all seemed to go ok.
I have:
Motherboard: K8N Neo Platinum
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 - 2800+
VIDEO: ATI Radeon 9600XT - 128 MB
RAM: 1GB DDR PC2700 CL2.5 - SAMSUNG - 1 Stick
SOUND: I also have an old PCI sound card in there.
HD: none connected currently
CASE: XG Viper Gaming Case
On my first boot everything seemed to go ok. I saw the post screen. The CPU, the Memory were all recognized the only thing is I don't have a HD in it right now so there was no OS to boot. I went into BIOS and double checked the settings. I noticed the RT clock was off slightly so I changed it. Looked around and made sure the AGP port was selected as my primary video adapter. Besides that I didn't change any other settings.
When I saved the BIOS settings and the computer did an automatic reboot I got nothing except a repeating "BEEP" and a black screen.
I waited a few seconds (around 20) then turned the computer on and it started up fine again. This time I didn't go into BIOS just let it boot up to the point where it said INVALID system disk. I did a reboot with the same problem - a repeating "BEEP" and a black screen.
A warm reboot doesn't do anything - It only comes back up with a black screen and the repeating beeps. Also If I power down and up too quick I also get no other effect than the black screen and repeating beeps.
The only way to get the post screen is to let it sit around 20 seconds and boot up.
Even If I let it sit over night, boot it up, see the post, and reboot 2 seconds after I get the post screen, the black screen and the beeping occurs (so I am not too sure its a CPU heat issue).
also on a side note the DBracket has some strange lights on it. - IF I am looking at the Dbracket from the right orientation - I think it is giving a "Initalizing Keyboard Controller" error when I get the black screen. It is either that or the Video Interface error. - 3 RED LIGHTS and 1 GREEN LIGHT.
Any sugestions or help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED !!!
Thank you !!!!!!OK - I pulled out the 9600XT and put in a 9000 saphire radeon card with the same effects.....
when I pull out the Video card and the memory I get the same black screen and error code of course...
second - I put the memory in and left the video card out only and got a signle long beep.. then no additional beeps after that but of course no video...
third - I put in the video card (the 9600 XT) and left the memory out and got the identical black screen and repeating long beeps.
last - I put the memory back in.. booted up fine... then tried to reboot and I was back to the black screen with multiple long beeps..
one interesting thing that I learned from this was - when there was no memory in I got the same "beeps" as I do when I try to reboot with the memory in... could it be something to do with the memory?.... or is it still leaning toward a PSU problem..
(Unfortunatly I don't have access to another stick of memory right now,... nor a sufficient PSU for the system...)

MSI k8n neo platinum post problem
I just bought a 2nd hand K8N neo platinum and I can't get it to post, I have reduced down to 1 stick of ram(tried all slots) vga and cpu running out of case. I have an ultra 600 psu that certainly should be doing the buisness as everything was fine on an NF7S-V2 up until 1/2 hour prior.
On the led device it's starting 4 red then after a couple of seconds it goes 1 red 2 red 3 green 4 red which I found relates to keyboard controller. I've tried with various keyboards but no joy. I get nothing on the screen at all but that's the next stage in post.
My memory is Twinmos 3200 twin x 2 x 512 double sided, which I saw in the sticky can be troublesome.
Any body got any ideas?i am having an almost identical problem.
First the system wont go past post, then i realised it would but only boot if i had the USB mouse unplugged (i noticed the d-brackets lights changed after i unplugged the mouse)
then i was able to get to windows, however i couldn't do much (mouse wouldnt detect if replugged, keyboard not detected - all lights off)
So i tried clearing the CMOS
now i am having the same problem, except this time i get CMOS checksum error - defaults loaded
then it tells me to press f1 to continue to del to enter setup, which i cant do since the keyboard wont work. so now im totally bamboozled
I've tried changing the PSU as well with no luck (both were 500watts)
Funny thing is, the pc having the problem is identical to the pc im writing on now, presonally i think the motherboard is not v good, since alot of people have this problem or similar to it. (and yes im using the keyboard and mouse now, that i tested on the other pc)
SPECS:
MSI k8N Neo Platinum
Powercolor Radeon 9800 Pro
AMD 64 3000+
1GB Geil Memory
Maxtor 160GB
500watt Magna Dual Fans
Will check what the D-bracket says and will report back.
ok here goes:
(with usb mouse plugged in)
1= green
2= red
3=red
4=green
(without usb mouse plugged in) - but bare in mind i cant press f1 (no keyboard) to continue else i would probably be able to get to windows.
1= green
2= green
3=green
4=red -
K8N Neo Platinum reboot problem
ok, spec:
MSI K8N Neo Platinum mobo
A64 - 3000+
2 corsair 2700 256Mb in slots 1 and 2 - 1 unbranded 2700 in slot 3 (all memory double sided)
Powercolor ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
SATA WD Raptor 74Gb
EIDE 8x Hitachi DVD-ROM drive
550W PSU - "Channel Well technology" - 24a@12v 40a@5v [email protected]
that's it. it posts ok, has frozen there once tho. but every time since then post is ok. Installed WinXP fine - until the install process tried to reboot into WinXP proper - where it continually reset itself until eventually it got in - and reported it had rescued itself from a serious error - I can sit in windows seemingly indefinitely - using the hard-drive to browse through the windows installation. now the problem is when I instert a disc into the dvd drive the computer tries to read it - little disc icon on the arrow etc. then it hangs and the computer resets.... any ideas?? the computer shop I got the PSU from says my configuration is "categorically" not using 550W of power - what do you guys think?
thanks for any help, cheers

Dx9 needs to be installed prior to the mobo drivers.
This applies to the Gart (Agp Controller)
If you haven't done so downloadWindows XP - Unified Driver Version: 5.10 & install.

Another thing you could do is Take everything out and place it on a cardboard or something appropriate for the mobo.... I think your motherboard is shorting?.. if it's touching your case.. I had somewhat the same issue long time ago.. give it a try..if you want hope it helps..

I have a K8N Neo Platinum and as of the past week my computer has been acting really strange. I has had random lockups that at first made me think it was the video card. That wasn't the case. I tried a different power supply and that didnt help. So I decided to take everything out of my computer. I had everything unplugged from the motherboard power, ide cables, etc. I noticed as I was taking everything out that I felt like I was getting shocked by my case but I don't know how because I had no power supply in my computer and all the cards, processor, memory were taken out. When I took the mb out i didn't feel the shock anymore, but when I put the mb back in the case and hooked the power supply back up to it I did. I even vacuumed out the case totally removing all dust and dirt. Am I missing something here? HELP lol
thanks for replying glenn after 2 days of hunting i can now say
90% sure the whining is from the powersupply
using my advanced hearing device i found a flaw in its design. before i would put it near psu but not hear the whine from there. well it occured to me to tilt it ever so slightly (tip from radio broacasting in college) to let the noise in but block any wind from crossing the end of my tube. and ch ching finally from the rear of the psu is where it is loudest.
ive owned 3 enermax and theyve been the best psu ive ever owned. but this weekend im swap it with my other and see if it still happens. it will probably take 2 hours total do it which is why ive put it off this long. ive tried bumping the wires around even though its a full size chieftech with all my watercooling gear its almost impossible to not have the wires overlap each other at least a few times. but with the moving around i did do it didnt help. -
hi all

cyas
EDIT: DBRACKET led 1, 2, 4 in red // led 3 in greenSounds like bad/not levered pressure from the new heatsink to the cpu HS .
Make sure it correct aligned and the right way and has the correct pressure
to the cpus heatspreader . Also make sure motherboard can read the fans rpm .
[edit:]
btw i agree with bas , your current psu is weak .
The polo fan also is a very watt hungry fan compared to boxed . -

K8N Neo Platinum Weird Problem
Hi.I just got the motherboard yesterday. The spec is:
Athlon 64 3200+
K8N Neo Platinum
512MB Crucial DDR 266
Enermax 350Watt PSU
Now my problem is an odd one. I start up my PC, and everything is fine, XP boots etc. However. when I turn the computer off, the power light will have a flash at the front, the light stays solid for a few seconds, disappears, and comes back on. In this state, when the power switch is pressed, the computer does not come on and the light continutes to blink. The only option is to turn off the PSU, wait a minute, then turn the PSU back on and the PC will be fine. When I restart from windows (Start--> Restart), everything works fine.
I am using the latest BIOS, I was thinking that it maybe something to do with Power Saving, is there a way to totally disable it?
Thanks for your help, it's REALLY annoying me.
P.S. Are USB keyboards meant to work with the latest BIOS? Mine doesnt seem to want to.hi edjam,
welcome to forum.
1) Quote
that it maybe something to do with Power Saving
your right it does
1-1)1st look at control panel - Power Options - Advanced tab - Power buttons at bottom. check what set there.
1-2) When your computer does this try keeping the powerr switch pressed in for a time 4-5 seconds see if this makes any difference.
1-3) Check in bios - Power Management - Power button - that it is set to power off
2)Quote
USB keyboards meant to work with the latest BIOS?
I believe so
Enter Bios & check in onboard Device USB Mouse Support is enabled -
Neo platinum having problems RAIDing
I just built a PC the other day
athlon 64 3400+ (retail heatsink/fan)
msi neo platinum
2x512 corsair XMS pc3200
2x250gb WD IDE
2x250gb WD SATA
2x37gb WD SATA Raptors
radeon 9800 pro
antec 550w true control power supply
lian li silver pc60
no OC'ing yet, just making sure everything works
i tried for hours to raid my raptors but couldn't get it to work
i enabled SATA RAID in the bios, then went into the raid array menu...
but when i f6 my windows XP install and load the drivers on the floppy, i get a weird error:
"File nvraid.sys caused an unexpected error (512) at line 2108 in d\xpclient\base\boot\setup\oemdisk.c
Press any key to continue"
the RAID wouldn't work, so i installed XP (pro) without RAIDing, and it seems to work fine...do i need a BIOS update, is this faulty hardware? familiar territory for anyone?OEM is manufacturer. disk is your XP cd. c??? is cab where file is suppose to be located.
Start with basics. Reboot, del to bios. Enable sata 1 and 2 channels (providing this is where your drvies are on). Then go the third bios setup page and make sure you have sata enabled there as well. Save and exit. Reboot! Then go to your raid utility (F10) and then do your striping, mirror, etc. Then reboot. Put you cd in and run setup.
BTW, If you have your cd roms(s) and DVD(s) on any ide cable, put them on cable select and eneable them as raid drives also. It would be considered IDE raid. -
[925 Series] 925 x platinum sound problem
hello
i have win 2003 server
i installed the sound when i installed the operatin system few months ago
today the sound stoped playing
in the control panel there is aproblem with microsoft uaa bus for high defenition audio
i tried to update the driver => didnt help
i installed again the windows and i still have the same problem
i can install the "bus driver patch" but when i try to install the ac97 driver it says that device is missing or removed
i installed after that xp sp2 and its worked fine
i whant to install the 2003 server again
any ideas about the sound?
thanks alot
thaerI can't help with your problem because I have exactly the same thing with my 915P.
Everything has worked fine for two months until yesterday when booted up no sound. Microsoft UAA bus for HDA now has a problem initialising (Code 37). If I try reinstalling the azalia driver it tells me the device is not there. The bus driver patch will not install as Win XP Pro x64 says it is not compatible. I have even tried reinstalling Windows but no joy.
As an aside i am really teed off with Win XP Pro x64 as no-one seems to have drivers for it and major players like Norton do not have versions of their sofware for it until October. -

K8N Neo 2 platinum memory problems
Ok to start off I'm trying to run 4 512's corsair xms 3200 on the mother board MS-7025 but problem is if I try and run at 2 gig my PC will not boot up the monitor light stays on amber or in a sleep mode.
But if I run just 1 gig it boots up fine the ram is fine and tested also tried swapping the ram into diffrent slots and it works just not with 2 gig.
I have used the manual and unplugged the ATX power cable and jp1 power before i put the ram in but still no luck
could it be a bios problem or hardware I'm not sure any help would be greatly appreciatedQuote from: jimbojim on 01-December-06, 07:03:26
I have tried setting the memory voltage at 2.7 and still no luck thanks for ur time
it is not good solution to use 4 sticks at all. read here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=103090.0
is all mem. sticks are identical? can they works separately by 2 sets (2 mem. sticks per set) with same settings?
setup memory limit to 333Mhz, apply command rate to 2T too, bump mem. vcore to 2.75V. apply basic memory timings manually and ensure its acceptable for all four memory sticks.(cas, trcd, trp, tras) other memory settings leave it to auto.
re-test and post back results.
