925 video - no sound

Hi, taking video using the camera app has no sound. The speaker & mic work in all other cases such as calls and youtube.
the volume is 30/30 and set to "ring & vibrate".
anyone got any ideas how to fix?

hi mate, have you checked you are up to date with the latest firmware, and the latest Nokia system app updates from the Store also? also try performing a soft reset, and if you using the Nokia Camera app, check that you are up to date with that too.

The batterys the ipods come with are very sensetive somtimes they dont react right to the first couple of charges. Try fully charging it and then leaving it on until its completely drained a few times. If that doesnt work it might be a lemon.

No video or sound from iSight

I have a frustrating problem ! My external iSight camera has stopped working, ever since I moved from a PPC G5 to an Intel Mac Mini. I did actually have it working for a while, but I must have changed something and now nothing I do will get it to work again.
I have tried isolating the problem by removing other Firewire devices - the camera is always correctly recognised no matter where I plug it in; System Profiler shows it as present, and it is shown as available as a video or sound source. The problem is that when I actually try to use it, I just get blank (black) and no sound input.
If I plug the camera into another machine, it is recognised and works OK !
I'm sure this must be a software conflict, but I don't know what with. Console logs just show similar messages from any application that tries to use the camera, saying that it's unable to open the source for input. I'm suspecting that some 3rd party plugin or driver is being loaded and crashing out - perhaps because I migrated over from a non-Intel machine (I did a clean install, and ran the migration assistant).
Any suggestions how to find the culprit ?

Phew - got it working, but don't ask me how !!
I did a fresh install onto the internal HD (I already boot from an external one, see below). No dice. So I unplugged everything, and plugged in just the iSight.
I have a LaCie external HD which also works as a Firewire and USB hub. With this unplugged, the camera worked on the fresh install. I then re-plugged in the firewire leads for the hub, and connected the camera to the hub. Rebooted (****, OS X boots fast on a fresh install on the Intel machines !). Still working. Then I plugged in the USB leads for the hub, still working. Which is strange, because that's exactly the configuration in which is WASN'T working a few moments before ! I then rebooted into my original system (on the external FW disk), and it's STILL working.
Now this is really strange, because this is the config in which it really wasn't working before. All I can figure is that somehow connecting via Firewire first, rebooting, and then USB somehow tells the hub to work correctly as a FW hub. But this doesn't make too much sense, because other external HDs I have still worked fine before - it was only the iSight that wasn't working.
The only other thing I can think of is that in the process of doing this, I moved a small plastic photo frame that I have that was sat ontop of the mini. The thing with this frame is that it's 2 bits of perspex held together by magnets. They are only small, but I wonder if there was some interference caused by the tiny magnets that somehow effected the Firewire connection (but only for the iSight ?). Anyway, that's staying off the top of the mini for now !
I'm not sure if this explanation will ever help anyone else, but it does give you an idea how to isolate a problem. What I did was isolate the OS (by doing a fresh install), isolate the hardware (by unplugging it all, and selectively re-plugging it), and isolate apparently unrelated external influences (by removing the picture frame). If you're having strange problems with your computer, be methodical, and you will probably isolate the cause and fix it !

How can I import video and sound from my sony camcorder?

I have just bought the mac. I'm struggling to import video AND sound from my Sony DCR-SR87 hard disk handycam camcorder. From what I've read already, I ended up purchasing and downloading Quicktime MPEG2, and used the Utility MPEG Component Lion from downloaded MPEG Streaming 1.9.3b6 to enable video and sound to play on the computer directly from the camcorder. The problem is that when I import these clips using iphoto (it pops up when I connect the camcorder), the sound does not accompany the video onto the computer. I've hit something of a brick wall and would really appreciate any help.

Had an Iphone 4 for about 3 months now. This happened to the first one I had and they ended up having to replace it at the apple store just a couple weeks ago 6/2. It happened again last night to my new one. This time i was able to correct it by going to itunes, backing up the phone to icloud, and then restoring the software. Mine did not work with voice memo, but did work with headphones plugged in, and would also work on speaker. I could hear callers but they couldn't hear me. I had purchased a new case (lifeproof case at $79.99) because it comes with plugs that cover the headphone jack, and the charging port, and is also waterproof. I heard that the root cause is due to lint, dirt, etc getting inside the headphone jack. Well, must be something else. It's a 10 days old phone, and has been in this overpriced case the whole time, and I have not used the headphones. I hope this doesn't keep happening.

Video clip sound after burning

I use Adobe Premiere Elements 10, and I recently made a music video. I put a soundtrack to it. I turned the video clip sound all the way off and just let the soundtrack play over it, like a music video. I then burned it to a disk and played it on my DVD player. When it was playing, I noticed that the video clip sound and the soundtrack were both playingand over lapping each other. I burned several disks after turning every other sound off but the soundtrack, and still the video clip was playing over it. Please give me advice on how to fix it, as it would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
First, I would play the Timeline with the Audio Mixer Panel open, and watch for the Levels of the other Video Tracks. You can also use that to Mute other Audio Tracks.
One can also Alt-click on the Audio portion of the Clip, and just Delete that.
Now, did you place your music onto the Fixed Soundtrack Audio Track? Some users have experienced problems with the two Fixed Tracks, Soundtrack and Narration, and the normal "fix" is to just drag the music (or narration) to an empty, "regular" Audio Track.

Converted videos without sound

i have added and converted 5 videos to ipod format, and added to my ipod.
even though the videos had sound before they are not playing with sound on my ipod or on my itunes

I would suggest searching the internet or going to the [iPod Lounge|http://www.ipodlounge.com] to find what you're looking for, because I'm sure you're talking about converting your home movie DVDs to iPod format and not breaking the Copywrite protection of Commercial DVDs and U.S. Federal Law in the process.
P.S. Breaking Copywrite Protection is also against the law in most other countries as well.

Videos without sound

I have the latest itunes on my pc and videos in an endless list of formats avi mpeg flv wma
I've imported the files into the itunes library and through the advanced option I click the 'convert to ipod/iphone version'
it takes AGES for the conversion only to find out the video lacks sound. There is no audio signal at all.
Any suggestions?

Trimmed Video has sound but no picture

I need to split a large video file in two. When I use the trim function and select the first half of the video, it works great. I get a file with just the first half of the video - great sound and picture. However, when I try and create a file containing just the second half of the video, I get sound put a scrambled picture. I've tried trimming as well as deleting the first half of the video and the end result is the same.
Any ideas of how to fix this?

Are the videos that still have sound those in the Videos app, or a different app ? If Videos app then have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound. Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon; press home again to exit the taskbar. You can use Quicktime to record streaming video +with it's audio+ by using a very simple trick. Using the same cable you connect your iPod/iPhone to your car's stereo system, connect your Mac's Audio OUT to its MIKE IN jack. I used FILE / OPEN URL to select the video stream source, then selected FILE / NEW SCREEN RECORDING. In the resulting 'Screen Recording' dialog box, I set the AUDIO slider all the way to the right, and under the arrow to the right, selected "Built-in Input Line In" for the microphone. I then used the appropriate controls to play the stream and record it. The resultant file was very acceptable. Good luck.

911. VIDEO=NO SOUND.

so i just got my ipod brand new yesterday.
i came home and put songs on it and what not.
but when i tried to put a video
i guess it was uploaded/converted
but when i went to watch it on my iPod.
it played but no sound.
anyone know how to resolve this situation.

I used my iPad video for the first time and had the same problem. After reading the replies, I went to Settings>Privacy>Microphone, and there is nothing there!
Then I went to the Video app and swiped up to get to the Control Center. I saw that the Volume setting was turned very low. I set it as high as it would go and did a test video. It worked! But there still is nothing in Settings>Privacy>Microphone.
That doesn't work for Siri, though. And probably Facetime doesn't work. I can't try calling anyone now, it's too late.
I'm not a techie, so I don't always understand the comments about how to fix things.
