9300 Curve with 3G

Hello All
I've read on various sites about the Blackberry Curve 9300 being a Curve with 3G.
Is anyone able to say when this device is likely to be released?? Will it be 2009 ??
My contract is due for renewal in December and I really want a Blackberry :-)
Cheers
J

  • 9300 Curve wifi problem - cannot connect to internet using only wifi once data turned off

I've got a 9300 Curve with a data plan from Rogers. I want to use my wifi in hotspots when I go overseas without using my data. I have no problems connecting to wifi networks. Once I turn off my data services, my connections to the wifi network show that the signal is still just as strong, but I can't use my browser, facebook, bbm, etc. - message is "unable to connect to internet" when I try and access my browser. This problem occurs whether I'm using a public hotspot or my home router. I used to be able to access wifi without using data from Rogers on my older Curve (can't remember the model), so I don't think it has anything to do with my plan.
Any suggestions/advice would be much appreciated!

    Thanks for the reply!
Did you mean "leave data ON and turn off data roaming"? But that would just turn off my data while I'm roaming, and while I'm not roaming, it'll still access through data and not through wifi like I would prefer. That's what I understand, but pls correct me if I'm wrong! I guess I meant to also mention that whether I'm in my home zone or overseas, I still can't use my browser, bbm, etc through wifi only, with data turned off...it just says there's no connection to the server/internet, even though it shows that I'm connected to a wifi network.

  • My 9300 Curve (v5) keeps shutting down!

My 9300 Curve (v5) shuts down every time I send an email with a picture attached, anyone have a suggestion?  It actually did it one other random time while I was writing a long email, but every time when sending a picture it definitely shuts off.  I assumed it was a memory issue, but cannot seem to figure out how to fix it or find an answer anywhere.
    Thanks

    Hi rowinchrist,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
To rule out any possible software issue that may be causing your BlackBerry® Curve™ 8530 smartphone to shut down, please try to back up your data using the BlackBerry® Desktop Software and perform a clean reload of your BlackBerry® Device Software.

Can I talk to someone in Blackberry who can solve my email problem? Blackberry premium email team have been unable to help me for the last 5 weeks despite many attempts. Blackberry forums and BIS do not address why I cannot access the Advanced Setting screen to set POP/IMAP details for my primary email address from my phone. I have 3 other email address's working fine. I have had a 9300 Curve for the past year and this problem only occurred when updating the Blackberry software to 6.0 Bundle 2647 (V6.0.0.00 - Platform 6.6.0.223) 5 weeks ago.I am desperate for help....Jeff Dakin -

  • 9300 curve acting crazy

I am having a problem with typing messages on my 9300 curve in any application. Example: trying to type message in bbm and cursor bounces all over screen, and when you are finally able to type a letter, sometimes wierd accent marks appear above the letter. also when trying to use gsp, the page flips on you. Any advice? these problems happen sometimes, then other times it works perfectly fine. Thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Best!

    Hi mkskumar20,
    Try this steps below.

The 9300 model does have built-in GPS.
On all model BlackBerrys, first make certain that you in an area of good signal coverage AND outside with a clear view of the sky in an open area of no tall buildings.
For GSM network devices, do this:
Click Options > Advanced > GPS > Menu > Refresh GPS.
Give it up to 10 minutes to refresh, and try 2-3 times in a row.
    For the 9800 model:
    1. On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
    2. Click Device > Location Settings.
    3. Press the Menu key > Refresh GPS.
Please thank those who help you by clicking the button.

  • Wifi issue in blackberry 9300 curve

    Respected sir,
i am vinod and i have blackberry 9300 curve.. whenever i turn on wifi able to connect to the wireless network but am not able to use internet. its giving the error message ie
'' unable to coonect to the internet, please try again later. if the problem persists please contact your service provider'' and i am sure that wifi is nothing to do with service provider. please help to resolve this issue.. and i hope for positve response from you.

You're running OS 5 on your BB 9300, right?
So go into your Browser -> Browser Option -> General Setting -> Default Browser Configuration -> You choose: "Hotspot Browser"
(If necessary, you should check at Browser Option -> Browser Configuration, it should be "Hotspot Browser" too).
Then it will enable to use wifi in browser.
Hope it works for you, buddy
P/S: In case, your device's running OS 6 or the above solution can't solve your problem, let me know

  • 9300 curve memory

I had an offer I couldn't refuse from virgin for a 9300 curve. It was my intention to use it mainly for calls and texts. However I now want to use it for web browsing as well. I am finding that on some sites the memory is not large enough to open the files. I know I could get another version with a larger memory, but is there any way I can upgrade/increase the memory on my current phone? I would appreciate any replies in non technical language as I am not experienced in mobile phone technology
Thanks, hope to hear from someone soon

If you want to delete apps, scroll to in on the menu and hit the BB menu button (you know, the one that looks like the Blackberry logo). Delete should be in there. You might need to reboot your phone after deleting some apps though, it'll warn you if you do.
That usually works if you select other stuff - like photos - that you want to delete too.

  • 9300 Curve GPS & Maps

Just bought a 9300 Curve and can't find the maps/gps on it, i looked in Options/Applications and then Add Ons and found maps but can't find it on the phone itself, How do you switch on the GPS ?? I'm currenly roaming as i bought this phone in Qatar but using a Spanish MoviStar sim card, do you think this could be the problem ??? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi
Given that we are just a bunch of ordinary users, it is not usual for a question to go unanswered. My 8520 has no GPS cabability and so I didn't respond when I saw your original post due to lack of being able to locate the items on my device. But, hey, we'll have a stab at it.
First of all, Location Settings can be found in Options > Advanced. Ensure that settings are on. I can't tell you which one's as I dont have them.
Have a look in the media folder, the download folder and indeed any folder and ensure that Menu > Show All is checked. Do this for each folder until you locate Maps.
Back to Options, then > Date/Time and ensure that the correct time zone etc is selected.
No look with any of that then
The Blackberry is designed to be reset by removing the battery whilst the device is powered-on. Leave the battery out for a minute or 2.
See if that resolves the problem.
    Still no luck?
In the guides it says to do a backup. Do this if you haven't already done so saving the file to a place and in a name that you can easily locate on computer.
I then uninstalled DTM and then deleted all other references to BB/Rim in Windows Explorer thus removing the OS for the BB from the computer in order to ensure that the version I would reinstall would be a brand new downloaded version.
Get the latest Desk Top Software
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?CPID=OTC-DSKTPSW&cp=OTC-DSKTPSW
and install it on the computer.
Get the correct latest version of the OS
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    and save it to computer.
To erase all the data on your BlackBerry device, complete the following steps. This option is available with
BlackBerry Device Software 3.8 and later.
    1. In the device Options, click Security.
If you are using BlackBerry Device Software 4.1, click Security Options > General Security.
    2. Click the trackwheel and select Wipe Handheld.
    3. Click Continue.
    4. Type “blackberry”. All the data on the BlackBerry device is erased.
On some new versions of BlackBerry software, the menu navigation is slightly different.
    1. Go to Options.
    2. Select Security Options.
    3. Select General Settings.
    4. Click the Menu key.
    5. Select Wipe Handheld.
    6. Click Continue.
    7. Type “blackberry”. All the data on the BlackBerry device is erased.
Launch the new Desk Top Software on the computer
    1. Connect your device to your computer.
    2. On the home screen of the BlackBerry® Desktop Software, click Update my device.
    3. Do one of the following:
    * To download an update, click Get update.
    * To view other available versions of the BlackBerry Device Software, click View other versions. If applicable, click another version. Click Install.
Ensure the new OS is the one you prevously downloaded.
Do not disconnect the device until the whole process is completed and the device has rebooted.
After 10 minutes reboot again by removing the battery whilst powered-on and leave it out for a couple of minutes.
Leave it again for 10 minutes. You should now have a fully functioning BB!

  • How can I add a curve with a different sample rate behind another curve to show it like one in the report

I saved two curves with different sample rates with signal express in waveform.
Now I want to add the curves behind and show them in a report.

    Hello MReizner,
Both the DIAdem VIEW and REPORT panel use the time information from your Waveform channels (make sure they actually have the waveform symbol, not the numeric data channel symbol in the Data Portal) to plot the data in the same axis system.
In the example below I have two waveforms, one sampled at 5 Hz and one sampled at 1 Hz, both in the same axis with the same time channel. All I did was drag the data from the Data Portal onto the axis. DIAdem automatically takes care of creating the correct time channel and plotting the data with the correct points if the data is stored as a waveform.
I hope this answers your question, please let us know if further clarification is required ...

  • Several curves with several scales on the same graph

    Hello,
I am currently working on a project which include a data acquisition VI. I would like to display two curves with two different scales (0 to 1 and 0 to 200) on the same graph.
I have been trying nearly all the options in the properties menu, I can not find anything that corresponds to what I want.
Do you know how to do such a thing?
    Thanks in advance,
    Gabriel.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Right click on the existing scale and click Duplicate Scale.
EDIT:  I should add that you'll need to set ActYScl through a property node to switch between the difference scales if you want to run operations on them.

  • Sycing a Blackberry Curve with Outlook Calender 2007

Hi I have been trying to sync my BB curve with Outlook, have read all the forums, reinstalled my operating system, downloaded Desktop manager 4.2 and then back to 4.7, upgraded my operating system and I have tried all the applications inside desktop manager including one way, two way, one way from device, one way from computer.
I suspect that there may be a calender entry dialogue box open, so I tried to close and clean everything from the calander on the desk top.  The memo, tasks and contacts all syc fine -- when in gets to calender it say "one moment please" and then it does not syc. It does not show up in the sync report as well -- any thoughts

If you are having errors in your Calendar or Address Book on your BlackBerry, and you wish to delete the entire Calendar (or Address Book) database on your BlackBerry, follow the directions below. Make certain you have a good copy of your Calendar or Contacts elsewhere, as this procedure will complete delete ALL Calendar entries and/or Address Book entries on your BlackBerry.
    1. Open Desktop Manager on your PC.
    2. Open up Backup/Restore > Advanced.
    3. From Advanced you'll see a split pane screen. The left pane is what is going to be backed up from your device and the right is a list of the currently existing databases.
    3. Highlight on the right side your Address Book database (or your Calendar database) and click the arrow in the middle pointing to the left. This will copy the information over and prepare it for back-up.
    4. Once the back-up has completed, hit the Clear button at the bottom to erase and clean out the entire address book database (or Calendar database).
    5. After it's finished, it will ask you if you want to save the back-up you've created, say yes and check the device to make sure the address book (or calendar) has been properly cleared out. Now, resync the necessary contact information and you should be set to go.

  • Strange situation when trying to sync Curve with Outlook, time to admit defeat now.

    Hi.
I have given up as a bad job on my main PC now trying to sync our two Curves with Outlook, get the 'Desktop Manger has encountered a problem an needs to close' message each time and have tried all of the Forum solutions with no success ~ even un-installed Outlook 2003 and reinstalled.
It did work for the first month.
I have loaded Desktop Manager (4.7) to both my Laptop and second PC and the sync process works faultlessly on both of these with both Curves.
    Weird.
Message Edited by Griffmaster on 05-11-2009 01:09 AM

    Un-installed DM 4.7 and re-installed ~ CD ~ as original and updated.
Ditto DM v4.7 downloaded from BlackBerry site.
    Ditto DM v4.6.
Un-installed Outlook 2003 and re-installed using Contact/Calendar databases as on my Laptop & other PC.
Have tried these Synchronisation error message solutions (and some I can’t remember) from the BlackBerry site and most times when I load DM & connect our Curves ‘Checking for device application updates please wait’ runs and then the previously described error message shows even before Sync button is pressed before I can even get to Configuration.
All 3 PC’s are XP SP2 and are loaded with identical Outlook databases.
As I mentioned also, problem is only with the first machine.
