9300 : the official OS releases

Dear all,
I am opening this discussion in order to reference all the OS versions that have been released by mobile phone carriers for the BlackBerry Curve 9300 (GSM). The 9300 is the successor of the BlackBerry Curve 8520 : a 320x240 definition screen, a trackpad, and features OS6 and 3G.
As a courtesy, I shall ask you to refrain from posting questions in this discussion.
RIM publishes OS versions to carriers, and after training & Q&A, carriers publish the OS. All those OS versions are available here:
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
To this day, 47 downloads are available: 11 OS versions have been released by 24 carriers for the 9300. Those OS versions are not compatible with the 9330 (CDMA).
You can find a step-by-step procedure on how to install an OS here :

There's no general answer, it depends on the platform. On Metalink this information can be found under Certification & Availability.

  • Has the official Photoshop CS6 release changed from the beta version?

That's it really. Are there any substantial differences  or changes in the official release?

It should look the same to the users. No big new features were added, just some bug fixes.

  • The Official 1.1 update now released

I'm trusting this isn't another testing mistake, but there is now a direct link to download the updates from:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshoplightroom/
    "NEW! Lightroom 1.1 now available
The update includes flexible image management for multi-computer workflows, improved noise reduction and sharpening technology, Windows Vista compatibility, and more.
Download the update: Mac | Win"
Also, when I go Help, Check for Updates it comes up with a window saying "A new version (1.1) of Lightoom is now available! ...." and it talks about some of the key changes and has a Download button which takes you to the main Lightroom page (as per the URL above).

Can anyone point me to the "what's new" or "readme" file for the V1.1
release? It looks great so far, even though I have just used it a little
bit, but it would be nice to be able to see what 'official' changes were
    incorporated.

  • The Official Unofficial 'Arch is Best' Thread

(Arch is the best distro ever...)
...at least for me. i know that one should not make claims that this or that distro is the best os.  my past 2,5 years have been a constant distro hopping. i've tried tons of distros, the only one that comes close to arch is gentoo, but my thinkpad is not that powerful (866mhz/256 mb ram) to wait for software to compile.
if there wasn't arch, i'd probably buy a mac. this is my third time with arch, but i don't think i'm going anywhere.
so please keep up the good work, i wish that the archlinux project goes on as long as possible (forever?  )
probably irrelevant, just wanted to get this off my heart. thanks for reading[/b]

Arch needs a little more polishing(pacman errors on upgrading) and stop its "let's put things in thousands of  different repos(AUR unsupported/community, TURs, current, extra, testing, unstable and never integrate OFFICIALLY things waited for months". (Yes I'm exaggerating)
For example, azureus is waiting to be in the official repos, at least in community...
What I also do not understand, is why devs have not yet built a structure so that devs can massively join the distro...
Apart from that, sure it is one of the most impressive distro I've seen so far, next only to Ubuntu.
I'm now trying(and really like) Sarge and I'm waiting for a Arch 1.0 release !!!

  • Put Razor-Qt in the official repository.

    Hi,
Razor-Qt has well released the 0.4 version which(I think!) is quite stable. To keep up this razor-edge, I think, razor-qt should be pushed into the official repositories. Its' much cooler and lighter window manager all in Qt.
    Thanks.

ssri wrote:Does it really need to go into the official repos?  I mean, overall it is a pretty short compile time.
while this is true, for you, in my underpowered laptop it took a while, plus most of this suggested apps:
    https://github.com/Razor-qt/razor-qt/wi … plications
must be compiled also (since most are in AUR), in the end it does take some time to make it work with the same functionality as lxde for example, but lxde is now in a package group, it makes it a lot faster! It is a shame no TU wants to take care of this, as of today it works great on my old laptop, but I'm still compiling apps to make it fully functional, I've spent two days and not finished yet (got other things to do also), but I'm pretty happy with my setup so far, and I'm running it from a 4GB usb! (installed no usb-live) And in my experience (I'm no expert here lol!) using AUR is not always reliable, one may get errors and while I like to learn, I'd like packages so popular could be included in the official repos more easily, If any of you know of a community repo for razor-qt please let us know, I've found none.
I also tryied installing trinity 3.5.12 with no succes but that is another story, I can't imagine how long it would take for me to compile the whole latest version 3.5.14.

<SPAN>Hi Cat and other admins, top day to you!
<SPAN>I have a suggestion, or rather proposition that Im sure allot of folks here will agree with. <IMG height=6 src="http://forums.creative.com/i/smilies/6x6_smiley-happy.gif" width=6 border=0>
<SPAN>How about instead of the preview site http://preview.creativelabs.com being used exclusi'vely for releasing beta <SPAN>64Bit drivers for public testing (which next to nobody uses). How about you (Creative) extend public beta testing to <SPAN>32Bit drivers and applications for release on the http://preview.creativelabs.com website ?.
<SPAN>Imho it will make the official drivers much more stable and worthwhile for the average user. It is just a thought and suggestion

    <SPAN>Hi Cat
<SPAN>Thanks for looking into this. :smileyvery-happy:
    <SPAN>Hi rco0
Yes, but unfortunately that BETA driver is 4 months old and I know that there has been at least 3 updates (unreleased) to that driver since. It would be helpful providing BETA drivers on the preview site I mentioned so we could submit feedback directly to the Driver team and get regular updates. and feedback from them.

  • ABAP Objects: The Official Reference??

    Hello all,
Is anyone aware of any place where this book can be purchased.  It seems that it is out of print.
    Thanks

Actually, now that I'm taking a closer look, I believe that that book has been renamed and re-released as "The official ABAP reference"   I believe that these books are one in the same.  With this other book you get a WebAs 6.40 instead of the 6.10 or 6.20.

  • Where are the official microsoft ISO's for windows 10 preview?

    Hi All,
Where are the official Microsoft ISO's for Windows 10,  10051 and 10056 preview?   They are all over the web, but I don't trust them unless they comes from Microsoft itself.
    Many thanks,

    To ToddAndMargo,
RE : Is there a way to manually go to Windows Updates and manually download a particular file
No. All updates will be downloaded and installed automatically. You don't get to choose which to install and which to decline.
RE : And I can't find 10049's ISO either (from Microsoft).
As of now, the only most current ISO available is for build 10041. Build 10049 ISO is not yet available.
When build 10049 is released from Slow ring, usually it is also the time its ISO will be released.
    RE: ESD file. How?
One cannot download an esd file of build 10049 from Windows Update.
You download and install the entire build 10049 via Windows Update. When it is done, you can then find its Installed.esd file from RecoveryImage folder and use it to manually create an ISO fie. You will need a specific program to create an ISO from Esd.
You might ask " why do I need an ISO fie if the operating system is already installed ?"
Some users are advocates of "clean install". They prefer clean install over upgrade install. Clean install can be done by burning the ISO file into a bootable DVD or an USB with at least 4 GB capacity and use it to install.
You can also use the same media and install in another compatible computer.
It can also serve as an emergency backup incase you need to reinstall.
