9310i PC Suite Synch fails - apparently lack of ph...

My kit is: 9310i, PS Suite 6.82.22.0 (did they really need to go to 82 versions to get it not to work?) and Windows XP
See my other post for opinion on the "quality" of this and general experience in trying to get it to do what it should.
Problem: - I have now managed to get synch working reasonably reliably on the contacts only although I did have this same problem for two days with the contacts synch (don't know what changed to suddenly make that start working). What happens now when I try to synch onyl the calendar is .....
Time zero: - start synch "Connecting to Nokia 93100i"
Zero +3 minutes: "Reading Microsoft Outlook"
Zero +6 minutes: "Reading Nokia 9310i" alternating with "Waiting on Nokia 9310i" with record count grtaduating up to "229 of 1905" whereupon...... at
Zero +10: "Beep" sound from 9310i and PC Synch stating "Synchrinisation completed" (even thouigh only 229 of 1905 read from the 9310i) and "2 warning reported"
The two warnings are "PC Sync coould not update the data to the mobile phone" - with no further explanation than that! AND "PC Sync has encountered a problem and has terminated the synchronisation" - even though earlier the sam eprogramme said it had completed the snych.
If anyone can suggest anything I'd be more than grateful. And you'll have succeeded where Nokia support failed !

I encountered the same problem after it worked for a while, Windows 7, Office 2010, Nokia Suite and a Nokia E7 and a N900. While my Android tablet synched fine. It appears that with all the Windows, Office and Nokia Suite updates it runs out of sync. Result is that in Nokia Suite the calendar option is grayed out and won't sync. After many uninstalls and installs with and without the cleaner, Nokia Suite still did not work. UNTIL I ran a repair on my Office 2010 installation. After a reboot the Nokia Suite recognizes that Outlook is installed and it is synching fine. Good luck!

Ovi suite installation fails: "Something's gone wrong. Nokia Ovi Suite Installation requires that PC Connectivity Solution 7.0.0.0 or later is installed before you can continue." I tried all possible options; removing all related items, drivers, registry entries. Nothing helps. No decent logging. Where can I find this PC Connectivity Solution? No decent help. Complete lack of information. After failure, lots of items are still installed and remain. No decent rollback. Windows installer cleanup is no longer available from Microsoft due to issues. So I'm stuck with an invalid piece of installed software. Just tried the third time I'm giving up. Spent the whole day on this. Has this been tested properly anyway on Windows 7 32 bits? The message in itself "something's gone wrong" does not really give me any hope on this. Please provide a solution.

  • TS4062 I get an error message- synching failed to start. What do I do now?

I get an error message about synching failed to start. How can this be fixed?

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
    - Next try the manual install method of:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.
    - Then try on another computer

  • PC Suite versions fail to install & PC Suite Clean...

    Hello,
I had been enjoying the full functioning use Nokia E51 phone and of PC Suite, from v7.1.18.0 to v7.1.26.0  on my home PC and business laptop without any issues.
On my home PC running XP SP3 I upgraded from  PC Suite v7.1.26.0 to v7.1.26.0 successfully - no problems
My problem is with my corp business laptop.
This is running XP Pro SP2. On this laptop PC Suite v7.1.26.0 was working perfectly [and I have really appreciated it].
However, on attempting to upgrade to the latest v7.1.26.1 after starting the installer, which opens, no progress is made and error .txt produce. I went to Add/Remove programs and successfully uninstalled the v7.1.26.0, and all other Nokia software to attempt to make a fresh install.
Unfortunately even a fresh d/l of PC Suite v7.1.26.1 and new attempt to install fails with the same message about 1 second into the install process.
I tried installing the PC Suite v7.1.26.0 but this too now errors with the same message.
I downloaded PC Suite Cleaner 7.1.1 but I cannot get this to complete...the progress bar stops almost as quick as it appeared... 0% complete.
I have tried rebooting... I have used jv16 to search for 'Nokia' re entries and deleted these in an attempt to clean install [I am experienced and competant in pc tech]
However, the exact same issue is present....no progress for either the PC Suite installer or the PC Suite Cleaner.
The Corporate McAfee Security Suite has no logs that would indicate that it is blocking either of these software.
I have attached  the Temp dumptext files that are generate.
Your assistance time and energy trying to solve this issue greatly appreciated.

    Hello Miksu,
Yes, I know the folders in my XP laptop that you are talking about.I had removed them and saved them in another place in my attempts to make a clean install.
Unfortunately no new logs are created during the failed install attempts.
Yes, there is the .exe installer for v7.1.26.0 in the Installations folder but this fails to run.
However, I did find the .msi installers [v7.1.26.0] for both PC Connectivity Solution and PC Suite - these are:
    PCCS.msi
    Nokia_PC_Suite.msi
I was able to run them in the order they are above and the install was successful and software fully functioning.
So, what I would now like to try is installing v7.1.26.1 using the .msi installers.
Where would I get clean copies of these for PCCS.msi and Nokia_PC_Suite.msi ?
miksu...thank you very much for the focus you gave me on the Installations folder
    Thanks
    farfes.

  • Ovi Suite update fails

Hi, Ovi Suite started to prompt me to update to the latest version recently.
The installation runs, but fails with the error:
"Installer: The older version of Ovi Desktop Sync Engine cannot be removed. Contact your rechnical support group."
I've since uninstall all the Nokia/Ovi apps via Windows Add/Remove and tried installing again but get the same error.
After uninstalling everything from Add/Remove, All entries in the Start Menu are removed, but I can see in Program Files there is still a "Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite\NokiaOviSuite.exe" which I can run. The Help-->About info shows me this version info:
    PC Connectivity Solution 9.45.0.0
    Connectivity Cable Driver 7.1.23.0
    Maps Service API 3.0.38.0
    Nokia mPlatform 2.6.40

    Detected Bluetooth stacks:
    - Microsoft (Version: 5.1.2600, Build: 5512)
    - Broadcomm (Version: 5.1.0, Build: 3000)
When I try to install the new version, I can see new versions of "Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver" and "PC Connectivity Solution" are listed in Windows Add/Remove Programs list.
Any suggestions on how to cleanly remove the existing version so i can install the newest version will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have heard this problem before. Can you try following instructions:
You can try to run repair and then uninstall Ovi Suite. If it
uninstalls then installing new Ovi Suite should also be possible.
If this doesn't help you have to download Windows Installer CleanUp
    Utility. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
    Direct link: http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983...
First clean Ovi Desktop Sync Engine with this utility and then try to
install Ovi Suite again. You may need to clean some other msi entries
    too. Hopefully this helps.
    Cheers, Samuli

During the installation I get an error that Presenter failed to install because PPT 32 bit is not present. Additionally, Captivate cannot create swf files. Please help resolve these issues.

Alisha in Adobe support was able to resolve the problem:
Browse to the following location and open the file mentioned : C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6\AdobeCaptivate.ini
Add the following tag to the file : Use32BitJVMForPublish = 1 (as shown in the image below)
Also, do the same to the file in the following location : C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6 x64\AdobeCaptivate.ini.
    This seems to have worked.

  • WSUS 3.2.7600.226 Synch fails with "invalid certificate"

Hello! I'm posting to the forum today because I have a Server 2008 R2 machine with WSUS and SCCM 2012 R2 installed. I've noticed that WSUS synchronizations have been failing for quite some time, and when i view the synch report, i see this error:
"System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Access to module dbo.InsertTRGLocalPubl is blocked because the signature is not valid."
A google search leads me to posts like
this one, but i dont know if that is the issue i am having, or if that one is really similar. Can anyone provide any insight as to what i should to do resolve this issue? I can say i havent removed and reinstalled WSUS as described in the article. I am
afraid if i do that i will break SCCM in some way. Can anyone give me some direction?
    -Brent Blades

    Hello,
Is your WSUS integrated with SCCM? If so, any operation or configuration should be done via SUP.
If this is a standalone from SCCM, then which database you are using? WID or SQL server? In this situation, it won’t impact SCCM since it is separate from SCCM.

  • Can PC Suite synch with ACT pim

Is it possible to synch a 9500 directly with ACT pim from Sage software? or does data have to go from ACT to Outlook then synch to 9500?

I'm afraid PC Suite synchronization supports only various versions of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, Lotus Notes or Lotus Organizer.
If the ACT! data can be accessed via SyncML/Remote Sync (if not directly, but through a separate, intermediate SyncML server such as Sync4J or others) then you could do it without PC Suite.Message Edited by petrib on 14-Nov-2005

  • PC Suite continuously fails to update

I have PC Suite 7.1.18.0. The PC is running XP Pro SP3 with all the latest updates. Each time I start the PS Suite pops up a message in the notification area saying update available - click here to install. I do that, it shows v. 7.1.26 is available and I click the  download and install button. All seems to go well until the progress bar gets to 99% then it stops. Then I get the message that it failed to download from the server. It does this every single time.
I'm getting rather browned off by this, not least because the version I already have works fine and there seems no way of suppressing the pop-up when the PC starts.
Trying to get to Nokia Support itself is literally impossible. When you eventually find the form to contact them it wants the question and product. The fields to fill these in don't exist!
    Can anyone help?

    Hi,
Its recommended that you always uninstall the existing PC suite and follow the instructions and check
Do have backup of your phone data & PC registries then Uninstall Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Connectivity cable driver, PC Connectivity solution, Nokia flashing cable driver(if any on your PC), Run PC Suite cleaner. Install latest Nokia PC Suite from europe.nokia.com/pcsuite, reboot your pc. Once pc started, connect your phone with USB in different ports of your PC and check

  • Latest PC Suite version fails after 1-2 system reb...

I've been using PC Suite successfully under XP SP3 with my 6102 phone connected via Nokia USB cable. When I updated PC SUite recently to v7.1.18.0 the suite worked fine, but after a couple of reboots of my computer it no longer registers the phone when I plug the cable in. When I tell PC Suite to "repair" itself, it knows that a Nokia phone is connected, even though it shows it as disconnected in the system tray area. I have unistalled and reinstalled PC Suite twice with repeateable results -- sees the phone initially, then refuses to connect fully after system reboots. Any ideas?

PC Suite Cleaner is no longer available on the Nokia web site. I found a copy (v3.6) on another site but when I tried to run it, I got a message that it would not work with the version of PC Suite that was "installed" (the fact that PC Suite Cleaner detected anyting at all proves that PC Suite uninstall left residual stuff on the hard drive). Tried reinstallng newest PC Suite (now for the fourth time), with the same result: Worked flawlessly, but icons did not appear in system tray area after reboot; when trying to uninstall or repair, it detects that a Nokia phone is connected, but PC Suite won't display icons or sync with phone with it unless I completely uninstall and reinstall it.

  • PC-Suite sync fails after Firmware upgrade of E65

After firmware upgrade of E65 PC-Suite stops syncing Calendar & Contacts from outlook. No error messages, just "0 entries has been updated".
    - PC-Suite updated to 7.0.9.2
    - Outlook 2003
    - XP Prof.
    Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The funny thing is - the notes are synced???? If I restore some old contacts they'll double up in outlook, so I think the problem is, that the sync app doesn't see the outlook contact & calendar folder.
    Does somebody has an idea?

  • PC Suite Backup failed to backup contacts

Went to update my firmware today, and it said that it would delete all contents on my phone. So, I updated PC Suite, and then clicked the backup button. It appeared to be successful.
I then had it install the firmware update. After that successfully happened, I went to backup, and clicked Restore. It updated my saved profiles, applications, files, and images.
My contacts, however, are now all gone.
The log shows it backed up Contacts, but there is nothing in that heading. If you compare it to how the log formats files, there were items under it as a heading, like so:
    Content restored:
    - User files
    Images\Backgrounds\underdark1_176x208.otb
    Others\ClientLoginTest.swf
    Others\FlickrMobile.swf
    Others\show_keycodes.swf
    Others\testing_login.swf
    etc...
    - Contacts
    - Calendar
    - Settings
    - Messages
    - Bookmarks
    - Full backup
So, following that logic I'm lead to believe that my Contacts didn't actually back up. Um... darn?
I have some contacts backed up on my SIM card, but they are 2 years old, and don't have the 2 years worth of contacts I've added since then.
Just thought Nokia might want to know their Backup program doesn't work with Contacts on a Nokia 6680.
BTW, just so today wasn't a total failure, what DID my firmware update actually give me? An "up to date Symbian OS" doesn't count; that has no tangible user value.
Finally, here is my system info, hope it helps the engineers to prevent this problem for other users in the future:
    Operating system:
    Microsoft Windows XP
    Build 2600
    Service Pack 2
    Language: English
    Language for non-Unicode programs: English
    Locale: English
    Input language: English
    Nokia PC Suite:
    Version 6.82.21.0
    Language: English
    Connectivity Cable Drivers:
Not installed [this is bs, they are installed]
    PC Connectivity Solution:
    Version 6.43.8.0
    Microsoft Outlook:
    Version 11.0
    Build 5510
    Bluetooth stack:
    Microsoft Bluetooth stack
    Version 5.1.2600
    Build 2180

I had the same problem today when trying to restore a full phone memory backup of my Nokia 6680.
All data was restored except contacts data.
The phone went through a repair and the motherboard was changed (=> new IMEI) in a authorized Nokia Service Center.
So the Contacts in Phone Browser were empty.
    BUT I FOUND A SOLUTION!
It only works if you have backed up only your contacts (so you have a .nfc file in "C:\Documents and Settings\*YOUR-USER-NAME*\Application Data\Nokia\ContentCopier\".
(Before taking the phone to the repair shop, I made the backup twice - one full backup, and one backup selecting only contacts)
So, if you have the .nfc file, copy it to a separate folder. (If i leaved the .nfc in the same folder with the .nfb, pc-suite-content-copier only sees the .nfb file(s) and the Contacts/images checkboxes are grayed).
After copying the file, in ContentCopier select Browse and select the folder with the .nfc file in it.
Now the checkboxes are not grayed anymore (what a stupidity!), contentcopier says it found a backup file, and you can restore it succesfully.
For precaution, now i will manually copy the c:\system\data\contacts.cdb file, instead of using the **bleep**py content-copier.
