9320 BBM and Email not working on wifi with valid data subscrition

Hi!
Please I need your help.
My phone is a blackberry curve 9320. I have a valid data plan back home in my country that expires 7th July 2013. While abroad I intended to wifi for BBM. However, this has not been possible for though connected to wifi BBM and my email do not work. Other applications namely facebook and whatsapp work very well. I am also able to get on the internet. Please urgent help needed.

I believe there is a problem at  RIM at the BIS data level I have reported it to my network operator and they tell me they are dealing with Blackberry with the issue. Suggest you report it to your operator as well the more report the problem hopefully the quicked it will get fied.

Hi kaydee92 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums!
Have you contacted your wireless provider to ensure there are no problems with your data plan?  From the home screen, what does your network indicator show in the upper right corner? Is it in UPPER CASE or lower case?
    Thanks.

  • BBM and FB not working on wifi

I dont get particularly good network coverage in my room at home (which I've come to terms with now), but I do get wifi. BBM and FB have always worked due to the wifi, but recently, neither has worked unless i've managed to get network coverage.
I've tried battery pulls, and i've tried deleting and re-installing software.
Oh, and its a Curve 8520.
    Anyone have any ideas?

  • BBM 7 and emails not working

Hi, a few days ago my bbm stopped sending and receiving messages so I upgrade it to the new, BBM 7 version.  However after is ask for your id password etc it says ' Cannot set up bbm.  Insufficient wireless coverage or your connection to the wireless network is turned off.'.  My wifi however is connected, I have uninstalled and reinstalled it many times, I have wiped my phone and rebooted it but nothing seems to work.  Along with this I am no longer receiving emails however whatsapp and facebook it still working so I doubt it has anything to do with the connection.  If anyone knows any solution or advice I would appreciate it immensely.

Call whoever you pay your cell phone bill to. I'm assuming that's Vodafone. I don't know what happened to your plan. Give them a call and they can make sure your plan is still provisioned properly. If it is they can help you troubleshoot the problem.

I have been onto O2 and they say evertyhing looks fine at their end, and nothing has accidentally been switched off. My wifes phone (BB Storm with T-Mobile) is still working with BBM ok. Please help

  • Internet and email not working. PLEASE help.

So I've had my blackberry for a couple of moths and everything's been fine.
Yesterday I stopped receiving emails on my blackberry and I also noticed that my internet wasn't working anymore. It came up with the message 'unable to connec to the internet, please try again later' even though I'm at home and my phone is connected to my WiFi.
I've looked around the internet for help and tried a hard reset a couple of times, which didn't help anything. I then tried deleting my service book and did the whole Host Routing Table registration again, and I got the blackberry registration email, however I'm still not getting emails.
Alot of the help online suggests going to Email Settings and Setting up my email account again, but seeing as my internet isn't working it comes up with an error message 'your device had a problem connecting to the server' when I try to launch the Email setup.
I saw that you could set up your email from your computer but when I tried to do this it didn't have my wireless service provider, BT, listed as an option.
This is really really urgent as I really don't know what the problem is and why it's suddenly occurred and what I'm meant to do! Any help would be MASSIVELY appreciated! thank you

after loading new a new operating system, you may need to self install BBM and Appworld.
Using your BlackBerry browser, navigate to these URLs to install either.

  • Push notifications and GPS not working on wifi - please help

    Hi,
I have an iPhone 4 with at&t (US) and latest iOS. but I am outside the US for a month and I have put the phone in airplane mode so that I don't receive phone calls or texts (I can choose not to answer phone calls but apparently I will receive the texts no matter what unless I put it in airplane mode)
But I still use the iphone for everything else. I have the wi-fi on and I have my own wi-fi network where I'm staying.
    but i'm having problems:
    1. I do not get any push notifications on my iphone. I have not modified much from the default wifi router settings. all i have done is set a WPA TKIP password. all the other settings are the default. no port filter or firewalls on the router as far as i can see.
    2. google maps is not able to pinpoint my location. I can see the maps fine. but when i hit the button to locate my position, it tries for a while and then says "cannot determine location".
    3. after a while with the iphone in 'sleep mode' (i.e. the screen is off - the phone is not off), when I turn the screen back on and try the use the iphone with the wifi, the internet no longer works although it shows that it is connected to the wifi network. then I have to go to the settings on my iphone for the wifi network and hit 'renew lease' for the internet to work again on my iphone. this is really annoying....
.. and *I do not have any of these problems when I'm on anyone else's wifi network*. so, I'm guessing this has something to do with my personal wifi connection at home.
can someone help me figure this out?
the wi-fi router is an Aztech HW550-3G. and the broadband connection is from a WiMax internet modem.
here are some of the screens from the wifi config page

    thanks!
    Julian.

Your problem is there is no record of where your base station is. Since you have airplane mode on your phone cannot use the gps receiver or the mobile network to pinpoint the location. For the location of the base station to be known it needs to be recorded in a database on the internet.
Instead of turning on airplane mode, remove the SIM from the iPhone. With airplane off and no SIM you will be able to use GPS but not make or receive phone calls and text. It may also update the location database with your base station location, but I cannot confirm it.

Try registering your device to the network to see if any registration message comes to your message box. KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network. If any message  comes let us know.
As you are not connected I doubt it will work , I think you should contact Orange to know about the issue as you are unable to access even  internet.

I recently upgraded my bbm about 3 days ago and ever since i rebooted my blackberry my bbm messages aren't sending they just come up with a red X! my bbm is also messed up it looks as if it has some glitches! I rebooted my blackberry took the battery out put it back in deleted and reinstalled bbm and every time i went back to reinstall it again the same thing happens! also my internet isnt working so im wondering if the bbm upgrade has something to do with that too? I've asked my friends who have blackberrys if this happend to them but the majority of them said their blackberrys were fine! Im just wondering if its my own devices problem or maybe blackberry itself?

On your Manage Connections screen, click on the Services Status.
What is the status of the BlackBerry Internet Service?

  • BBM and PIN not working for one contact!

For one BBM contact I cannot send BBMs or PIN anymore. It is driving me crazy.
When I send a PIN i get the message "service blocked" and a red cross.  BBMs will send, I get the tick but no D or R.  This is only happening with one contact.  He is having problems only with me as well.  We can send each other text messages etc. We are both in the UK and with o2.   Previously i've had no problems with BBM.
    Does anyone know what's wrong?
It's so frustratng because this contact is the reason I bought a blackberry and he bought one, so we could use bbm as he works in an area with bad reception.

    Hello katie_d,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
The following article should help regarding the issue you are experiencing with sending BBM™ and PIN messages:
A BlackBerry smartphone is unable to send and receive PIN messages and the error "Service Blocked" is shown - http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB19244
    We hope this helps.

  • Why applications do not work under wifi with proxy?

    Hello:
In my village there is a wifi installed that runs under a proxy with autentication: every user has his router at home and connects to the "general" wifi through a proxy with an username and password. I configure the wifi as follows: Wi-Fi --> Select the wifi --> I select Manual Proxy HTTP --> I type the server and port, enable authentication and type the username and password. Now, when I open Safari, I can navigate without problem. However, Safari is the only application that works: I cannot read my mail through the generic Mail application, nor enter in Facebook application, Twitter, Skype and so on. However, I can enter, for example, into Facebook through Safari.
We are some friends with the same problem, some of use have iPhone 3, others have iPhone 4 and I have iPod 2nd generation.
I guess that not all the applications of the device run using the proxy enabled in the Wi-Fi options but the should, shouldn't them? Does anybody know if there is any solution to this problem?
I hope I have explained clearly enough.
    Thanks,
    Maria

Ah, a wee bit of google later and it seems that iOS 5 has an issue with Http proxes,
in so far as it does not allow https (secure connections) which Facebook app appears to use.

Some say that iOS5.1 fixes this, or at least prompts for your password when it needs it.

  • BBM and facebook not working

I have just bought a Blackberry Curve 9300 and cannot get the BBM to work or activate, I received an email asking me to validate which I tried but a message came up saying this email address not waiting for activation. I also cannot get facebook to work on phone I have looked at so many options but nothing works is there an easy ABC way of getting my phone to work please!!

Thank you for replying so promptly. I am not very good at these techical things. The Model is Blackberry Curve 9300, is the carrier name my contract provider if so it is SFR (I live in France but I am Englisg so using an English system on my phone)
Not sure what a data plan unless that is the type of contract in which case it is monthly contract where I pay a set amount and receive an hour of calls, unlimited text messages and I thought BBM as well
I believe the operating system is 5.0
I'm afraid I don't know what the memory is or where to find it
I haven't received any error messages as I can't get connected to BBM or Facebook on my phone. I gave my PIN number to my daughters and I received a message saying Pending ( waiting for authorisation) - how do I do this? as I can't use BBM
I have had this problem since I bought the phone a week ago and I don't have any Apps as when I click onto Blackberry Apps it says Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server. Verify your network connections and try again. Please can you explain how I do this
When I go into Manage connections then into service status
    The list reads as follows
    Phone Number : Unknown number
    Status available
    Connection - Mobile network
    Blackberry Interent Service
    Connection : Not connected
    Blackberry Enterprise Server
    Connection : Not connected
    Mobile Coverage - 3G
    Provider SFR
    Wi-Fi Network
    Active Profile - Not connected
    SSID - Not connected
    Type - Not connected
    Status - Off
When I go inot Set Up Wi-Fi connections and select a network it then shows my open Wi-Fi network so I know that worksOK
I hope this is of some help in trying to sort out my problems. At the moment I feel as though I have bought a phone that doesn't work as it should

  • IPhone 3Gs & OS4: internet and email not working

    Hi all,
I upgraded my 3Gs to OS4 without hassle, and everything is still working, besides some of the apps (which I assume are awaiting updates).
However, my wife had a 3G which she broke and was given a new 3Gs as an insurance replacement. I restored her file from backup I made of her 3G. I then updated firmware to OS4.
Now for some reason it's not accepting the details for the outlook exchange she had setup (work email) and yahoo mail is playing up too. Safari doesn't seem to work with either wifi or 3G.
Is anything I can do to sort this out? I've tried the restore to factory settings, but that doesn't seem to reset the OS on the handset just all the user details.
    Any suggestinons appreciated.

called AT&T to check if they have any issue on the 3G data network, then they suggested me to backup the phone and restore as new, it worked for me although it's a long process

  • Bbm and internet not working because of the signal, what can i do?!?!

my dad phoned vodafone and they said they had cancelled something for some sort of reason which ii was not told. but they told me to register to http://www.mobileemail.vodafone.net/ ive done this, will that solve the problem or what else do i need to do?

  • Blackberry Curve 9320 keypad and trackpad not working

So I have a Blackberry Curve 9320 and I accidently dropped it down the toilet. Both the water damage stickers (on my battery and on the actual phone underneath the battery) are red. So I put my phone in a bowl of rice in my airing cupboard for around a day and a half to dry it out (I also tried drying it a little with my hair dryer). Anyway, I charged it overnight and when I took the battery out then put it back in, it started up and the screen was working! Of course I was really exited, thinking it would work, only to realise the trackpad and and all keys/buttons are unresponsive. Is there anything I could try to get them to work again? Or if I took it to a phone shop would they be able to do anything? :/

HorizonWireless is no longer in business as a cellular repair facility.
You might contact any local Vodafone dealer first for repair options.
