Hi crikle1992,
To rule out any possible software issue that may be causing this, I would suggest backing up and doing a clean reload of your BlackBerry® Device Software.
The following KB articles provide more instructions.
For Windows®: "How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows" http://bbry.lv/GI9beY
For Mac: "Perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer" http://bbry.lv/J0UN1U
Hope this helps.

  • HP Pavilion a6000 desktop with Vista black screen - need help please!

I have an HP Pavilion a6000 desktop with Vista.  Yesterday it was working fine and today we have the black screen that reads:
    Award BootBlock BIOS v1.0
Copyright (c) 2000, Award Software, Inc.
    BIOS ROM checksum error
    Detecting IDE ATAPI device...
Found CDROM, try to boot from it...Fail
    Detecting IDE ATAPI device...
    Detecting IDE ATAPI device...
    Detecting floppy drive A media...
    Drive A error.  System halt
I am not a techie, but looked at online forums and have tried f10 at startup with no change to the screen other than it stops after the first four lines and does not try the floppy drive.  I also pulled out the round battery, waited and then reintstalled.  Same problem.
Also, computer emits a single, repeating beep after startup.
    HELP!

I saw your post and wanted to comment. I'm not an expert on these types of situations but did some digging around and found the following at Tips4PC.com.... read below
"There are two types of computer black screens that can appear in Windows. One where the computer will not boot up but you have a beep sequence sounding to let you know what the problem could be, and the other has nothing at all. No beeps, no cursor, no logo screen, and no choice to boot to safe mode or access the bios.
If your computer will not boot up and you get a beep sequence, I am not saying it is good news, however it is a step in the right direction towards solving this problem. This is a message from your computer that can be understood by looking up your bios (the brand) beep code. For example you may have an Award Bios, Ami Bios, Phoenix BIOS, Compaq, Dell, or Acer Bios. This list goes on and on.  You can search for Bios beep codes in Google. Here is an example of results in Google search"

Also  I went into the Troubleshooting Guide for the A6000  and found the following information.  You need to use F11 for recovery. See below
Starting System Recovery from system startup
    1
Turn off the computer. If necessary, press and hold the On button until the computer
    turns off.
    2
Remove the HP Personal Media Drive if your computer includes one. Disconnect all
peripheral devices from the computer except the monitor, the keyboard, and the
    mouse.
    3
Press the On button to turn on the computer.
    4
During the startup, do the following to enter the Recovery Manager program:
When the blue screen with the HP Invent logo appears, press the F11 key on the
keyboard. (You have only a few seconds to press the F11 key before the normal
    startup process continues.)
    5
The computer starts the Recovery Manager program; wait for the onscreen instructions
to display, and then follow those instructions.
    6
Complete the computer startup, finish the registration process, and wait until you see
the desktop. Then, turn off the computer, reconnect all peripheral devices, and turn on
    the computer.

Yes, that is your only option.Yes.  You have to restore.
Try the following if you have difficulty restoring.
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • TS1538 iPad not turning on. Vertical colored lines followed by a black screen. Help!

My iPad is a little less than a year old. While playing a game on my iPad, multicolored vertical lines appeared across left side of iPad followed by a black screen. After a few seconds the screen flicked back on....then a few more vertical colored lines and completely black screen again.  Initially when pushing home button I heard Siri but after attempting several times to restart iPad, soon I no longer heard Siri and screen was just completely black and iPad seems to be dead. Battery was at 60%. I attempted to plug into wall and charge anyway, but that did nothing. I also attempted to plug into iTunes but iPad screen remains black and isn't recognized by computer or iTunes. (No apple logo shows up...nothing) Resetting by holding home button and reset switch for 10 seconds isn't working...I tried over and over holding both buttons for way over 10 seconds. Please help....is it dead? Anything else I can try on my own?

I have the same issue on my iMac 27" i7 late 2009 with ATI Radeon HD 4850.
Booting in safe mode is the only way to use it but the system can't do much and it's really slow.
From my findings it's for sure a GPU or VRAM issue so I've just bought a spare GPU board to replace the fault one.
Reballing could also solve this issue but usually you need also a new ATI GPU as well.
I'm not sure about nVidia GPU but it seems that you can replace it with a more powerful ATI Radeon HD 6970M card (if you use games to take advantage of it).
Your post is one year old and probably you already solved the issue so would be nice if you could share your solution for it.
    best regards,

  • My iPhone 3gs is stuck on a dim black screen. Help!

My iPhone 3gs is stuck on a dim black screen that I can't get out of. I tried doing a hard reset and even restoring to factory setting to fix it. When I press the on/off button it switches from a solid black screen to a dim lit black screen. The fuctions seem to be working. The vibration works when I flip the switch on and off. The voice comand comes up when I hold down the home button. It even plays the iPod when I use the voice comand. When the dim lit black screen is up, the touch screen is non responsive. I just need a way to fix this phone. I know their must be a way. Please help!

  • Black Screen - Please help

I purchased a A305-S6916 laptop and it was running great...no issues, until now.
I closed my laptop, came back in a couple hours and saw that the screen was still on
I flipped open my laptop and saw that windows wasnt shutting down properly, tryed opening and closing it, but it was inevitable, i had to hold the power button to shut it off.
When it restarted i got the toshiba splash screen and then a black screen with a blicking underscore.
I power cycled a few times and realized i could get into the BIOS. However the next time i power cycled, i didnt get anything, no splash screen, no underscore, the screen doesnt even look like its getting energized. The fan and lights come on fine, but there isnt even hard drive activity.
Has anyone had this problem before? What could of gone wrong from the 1st time I power cycled the laptop to the 3rd, which was within 10 minutes? Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

Turn off your laptop, unplug all wires, remove the battery, and hold the power button for thirty seconds. Afterwards, reattach the battery and connections.
If it still won't start, remove the battery and start with just the AC power. Next try without the AC power and just the battery. Also, check that the RAM is inserted securely. Instructions can be found in your user's guide if you need.
If none of this helps, you may want to consider getting it serviced. You can contact customer support at (800) 457-7777.

i can't sign in to game center in the mac i type i the password and it takes me to a black green screen i need help?

I have the same problem on my Mac OS X V 10.9.5. and its just 1 month old.

  • I flashed the BIOS on my dv4 2045dx with the F17 BIOS, NOW Black screen, PLEASE HELP

I flashed the BIOS on my dv4 2045dx with the F17 BIOS, NOW Black screen. Now even when pressing the windows  and the B key when powering, the screen stay black. Lights, fan, HD, USB drive with HP_TOOLS partition and bios backup flashes goes on for some time with some beeping every 15 sec.
I try to plug it on to a external monitor without luck.
What's next? Can I reload a BIOS from a CD? Anyone have an idea?
    Thanks

    Hello KenyaKitten
I understand after flashing your bios the PC will not boot.  I will do all I can to help with this issue.
First thing let’s do a hard reset, remove all devices from the PC including battery and power cable. Once all is removed press and hold power button for 15-20 seconds. Once that is done insert only battery and charging cable.  Try to boot now, if getting same response move to next line below.
Next, I want you to try is to boot into the bios menu. Turn the PC off and as you turn it on tap the F10 key repeatedly. Hopefully this boots you into the bios menu. Screen will look a little bluish grey and have setup utility across the top.
Also if the PC starts beeping at you while you’re tapping you can stop. Now if you reach that screen you may get a box that say save changes and exit choose no. (Note your mouse doesn't work on this screen so you would need to use the arrow keys)
After that press F9 another box will up come about reset defaults, accept that. Then press F10 to save and exit. The notebook will attempt to boot.
Also please inform me if you notice the number lock or caps lock keys blinking off and on. Also please let me know if the PC beeps at you while tapping F10 regardless if the bios comes up or not.
Please respond at your earliest convenience when you get further information.
    Thank you.

  • HELP!!! Black screen, nothing helps

PLease help. My ibook g4 started having black screen: i can hear the chime but the screen remains black. Sometimes it does turn on, but almost immediately the message asking to restart appears. I have tried all the regular fixes: setting changing, os re-installed etc. Support told me that it is probably hardware issue. What do I do now? Do I go to the store and pay them to fix it? Does anyone know how much? Please help.

Andosia, did you call Apple?  What did they say?
I've had a dead iBook G4 since last November-ish.  There are a few suggested fixes, one of which is taking your iBook apart and putting a shim in the case to put pressure on the chip.
A couple of months ago I put a wood clamp on the left palm rest of my iBook and it booted up without a problem.  I had it running (with the clamp attached) for nearly six hours without a single problem, and during that time I was able to get all my personal information off of it.
Now, in the past I was quite adamant about not taking apart my iBook when it's the responsibility of Apple to fix this issue, but today I finally broke down and took it apart.  I figured I may as well, it was just a $1100 paperweight as it was.  But as I type this on my wife's MacBook (which we bought to replace her iBook), I have her previously dead iBook up and running with a shim placed on top of the graphics chip.  I'm currently loading Panther from the Restore Disk because I wanted to give it a clean re-install, but it hasn't given me a single problem yet.
I still very much feel it's Apple's responsibility to fix this problem, but I'm not holding my breath, and at least now I have a working (for how long?) iBook.
