945 neo5-f forced 2.1v memory voltage

Hi,
I have a msi 945 neo5-f board with intel e7300 and 2*2gb crucial 800mhz 1.8v memory. Whenever I overclock the fsb to 295mhz or above, the bios sets the memory voltage to 2.1volts with no options to go below that value. At 1:1, these memories can run much above 295mhz at the rated 1.8v. Is there a way to keep the memory voltages to 1.8v when the fsb is above 294mhz? With dualcore from windows xp I can go upto 320mhz at 1.8vram without any stability issues but I want to do this from the system bios. Thanks.

Anyways I'm looking inside BIOS v12.3 with AMIBCP v3.13 at the moment trying to find a way to unlock the lower memory voltage settings at 295+ FSB.
That won't work.  First of all, you cannot simply unlock voltage settings with AMIBCP that are handled by rules like "if FSB = x, set VRAM to y".  Furthermore, if you save a BIOS File with AMIBCP, it will become corrupted.  If you flash the corrupted file, it will render your board useless.

I contacted MSI customer service over this issue a couple of weeks ago. Their response: do not overclock!
Ask them again and request a custom BIOS that turns off the Auto-Voltage-Increase.

Have you clicked on the settings button in the lower right corner to unlock voltage control and whatever else you might need to do there?
    Yep, I think so anyway:

  • Can anyone monitor their memory voltage?

Can anyone out their measure their memory voltage with software? I tried the winbond monitor but the vdimm is all messed up.

Well if you have an MSI motherboard Try there CoreCenter Software.. I think it moniters CPU Voltage and Mem Voltage.. Not completey sure but give it a try hope it helps

  • Problem changing memory voltage

i was wondering how i can change the memory voltage in the bios of my k7n2-l.  Right now my memory is maxing at 185 fsb and i want to chagne the voltage a little, but no matter how much i change it to 2.7(thats the highest my mobo will go) it always goes back to 2.6 automatically no matter if its on high performance, manual, or spd settings.  If anyone knows how to solve this problem your comments would be greatly appreciated.

You can't.  Wait for the next bios update.

  • P45 Platinum Memory Voltage

I am currently using 2 X 2Gb Corsair Dominator 1066 memory at default settings 1:1.2 with BIOS 1.22
All the programs I have available (OCCT, Speedfan, Everest and SIW) show the voltage as 2.5v.
I have also tried to set the voltage manually to 2.2v prior to overclocking but the voltage actually went UP to 2.7v.
    Has anyone else noticed this?

Use the Green Power Center to see your actual memory voltage.  None of the tools you mentioned is able to show it correctly.

  • Nf980 g65 memory voltage

Sitting on hold with msi waiting for some info on this motherboard. Before I order it I wanted to see the specs at which point I notice on their website that the memory voltage supported is 1.5.. 1.5? that cant be right. Anyway I had to goto work before some1 came on the line. Has anyone got this board? If so what ram are you running? I was hoping to get 8 gigs of 1333 running on it. Even if that means going down to 1066 due to memory controller limitations. Not very clear on the am3 memory controller as Im still using am2. No QVL on website or in manual either.

Take it easy, okay? I'm only trying to help you out. Your questions aren't that hard to answer.
Again: the voltage can be adjusted, of course it can. The numbers, no, I don't know them, but it will most certainly go over 2V. 2.1, 2.2 maybe. But most DDR3 RAM runs under 2.0V. For example, Ballistix (Crucial) runs on 1.8V and on 1.9 if overclocked. The bios can be set to 1.9, be sure of that.
Then QVL: What do you need that for? QVL's are for reference only. Just go for some simple value ram if you are not going to overclock the system. If you are going to overclock, go for some good quality, matched pairs. OCZ has some very good dimms with AMD-timings, so no Intel based timings. Check their website to find what you need.
Speed: you can make the dimms run on pretty high speeds. Most of the time, you can run 4 dimms, but it will make speeds drop a bit. So, from 1333 to 1066 or something like that. However, it is highly dependent on the memory controller inside the CPU. And since no cpu is 100% the same as the other, it is impossible to know in advance how the memory will work with the cpu you are going to get. But, AM3-cpu's are very stable and tolerant when it comes to timings and memory slot population.
Now, I do hope that this is some answer that you can use. If not, just say so but try to keep the nasty tone out. Thanks.

  • K9N NEo-F V3 Memory voltages

Hey all, just have a really quick question...
Looking at buying this board soon, but I'm not seeing where you can increase DIMM voltage at all.  The memory I'm wanting to get runs at 1.9, but eveyrthing I've read shows that this board runs at 1.8.  Is there a way I'm just not seeing to increase VDIMM to 1.9 so my RAM will work at stated speeds?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for the input folks.  I haven't dealt with an AMI bios in a longwhile and wasn't sure what kind of options it would have.
I noticed in the manual a memory voltage adjustment, but wasn't sure what kind of range it gave as the manual didn't say.
But it looks like I'll probably be getting this board pretty soon as long as some outrageous deal doesn't come along.
    Thanks again!

  • MSI 990FXA-GD80 how to see memory voltage?

I would like to see the memory voltage set by motherboard, however neither MSI control center tool nor BIOS itself shows the selected default voltage. (the old non-graphical bios was much better in that sense in my old msi 890fx board). I just want to see what bios sets as default out of curisity, because I am using 1.25v ddr3 modules and I want to know if everything is fine.

There are programs like Si-Software Sandra, CPU-Z and a few others that show voltages....
If you are concerned that the 'Auto' SPD reading by your Bios might be setting incorrectly.. you can set you voltages manually in Bios. The Firmware reads the SPD of the memory.

  • Memory Voltage X58 Platinum

    Hi,
I recently bought 2 GTX 460's to SLI with my X58 Platinum. I have been having lock ups while gaming that sometimes include white blocks all over the screen. EVGA tech support has told me to ensure my ram timings and voltages are set correctly for the RAM I use to ensure stability. The memory model I use is OCZ3G1333LV6GK. I changed the timings to 9-9-9-20, but I was unable to change the voltage from 1.5 to the recommended 1.65. The option was greyed out and the BIOS stated that changing the voltage to 1.65 could potentially damage the cpu.
Can I/Should I find a way to force the voltage up? Is this the incorrect RAM/Mobo Combination? What do you all think?

1.65V is the absolute maximum Intel has defined for DRAM voltage.  Ignore the warning.

  • KA92 plat - kingston hyper X pc8500 - memory voltage and freq

    I just installed a pair of kingston hyper X 2 x 2GB pc 8500 (1066Mhz) memory sicks into my KA9A plat mobo.
Kingston's voltage recommendation is 2V, I left  the board on auto.
HWmonitor reads 2.18V yet it is runing at 400Mhz each bank,  400x2 =800
Can I assume that it is at 800MHZ because CPU's cool& quiet slowed it to 800, or I have some bios setup problems?
Bios DRam is set to auto.

  • K9N2 Diamond and Memory voltage ?

The default voltage on my  DIMMS  seems to be  1.9 volts.
This from info from the MSI  overclocking utlity.
Presently the machine is stable  at 800 Mhz  Dimm Clock.
But it is unstable  at 1066 Mhz Dimm Clock.
Corsair , the memory vendor,   says  that  the  TwinX4096-8500CD  DIMMS
needs 2.1 Volts   to run at  1066 Mhz .

     Thanks,
Well it seems to much better at 1066 Mhz with 2.1 volts on the dimms.  ,  used to crash  within minutes,  but does'nt do that now.

  • Can't set memory or northbridge voltage

Hello, i have a MSI P35 Neo-F, and if i try to increase the memory or northbridge voltage just 0.1v, the board wont boot. I think the default vdimm voltage is 1.8 or 1.9, but my memory sticks require 2.2v. But my pc starts up fine and is stable when its 1ghz overclocked. Its weird because i looked in Dual Core Center and the memory voltage was @ 1.9v and the northbridge @ 1.25v at load, which is pretty low for a 1ghz stable overclocked system. Tried 2 different sticks but the board wouldnt boot with higher voltage with none of them. Is there a new bios or something to fix this? I havent flashed yet. It's not really a big problem, but i think i can get a higher overclock with more juice to the sticks and northbridge.

    Hello Impetus,
please provide FULL system specs.  Read the >>Posting Guide<< to get an idea of what we need to know.

If your system is stable, the voltages are fine.  Why increase voltages if there is no need to do so?

but my memory sticks require 2.2v
With JEDEC Standard Timings/Frequency no memory module should require more than 1.8-1.9V.  2.2V should only be necessary when timings are tightened to CL4.  In any case, include the brand/model/typ of you modules in your system specs, otherwise it is hard to comment on that.

  • Memory core voltage on a ti4800se

unusual memory voltage: 2.52.... is it realy unusual. what can i do?

    SillySider03,
Don't have that issue any windows utility shows total vcore as core voltage + (VId % x core Voltage)
Not often i quote core centre as being correct but on mine CPU voltage is shown exactly as bios. Vcore @top left shows total vcore
whilst opening the left wing vcore shows the core voltage.
Agreed thereis always an issue with the accuracy of the sensor readings.
