95% of text is missing in the print out, but logos print fine

Hello,
I have a printing problem with my DeskJet F4184 Series All-in-One printer and I am hoping someone can help me resolve this issue.
When I print out a page, it will print out any pictures or logos, but not the majority of the text. I thought it might be a black ink issue, so I converted the whole text into blue, and printed it again. But to no avail. Any ideas what could be going on?

OK, have you installed any fonts lately?
Open Mail>Preferences>Fonts & Colors, what is the message font & fixed width font sent to, try changing them & see what shows up.
Also, I can't delete an email.

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.

Changing is necessary because the Apache FOP 1.0 reports the following error (for the transmitted default XSL-FO):
"fo:simple-page-master", "fo:region-body" must be declared before "fo:region-before"

I've found two workaround for getting Apache FOP 1.0 to work with Oracle Apex 4.0 for PDF printing of interactive reports:
1, Use an application process to set your custom layout for interactive reports:
[ ] grant all on APEX_040000.WWV_RENDER_REPORT3 to {YOUR_SCHEMA_NAME};
[ ] Create an Application Process e.g. "Custom Report Layout" with constraint for request 'PDF' and Process Text:

I have this same problem, i though it was my internet (super slow) it would take 3 HOURS!! to download the update and then after all the waiting, it would say "network connection timed out" Ive restarted it and checked my settings over and over but it still says "timed out" wat should I do?!?

I have been researching the exchange message loss problem on other forums, but not seen a link to browser as yet. The message loss problem we have here is in a 32bit PB.

Text element missing in the script

We have standard print program, calling a zform and z subroutine. The values are flowing in the outtab itcsy structure. but when flowing thru the form, it gives the error message, text element 625-TX is missing in the Z window.
What could be the problem?

In the Print & Scan system preferences, does it indicate it is using a generic printer driver or a Gutenprint driver?
Also, if you click on Options & Supplies, you might want to check and see if has to be enabled. That kind of sounds odd though.
Another thing is it might not be showing. If the bottom of the print dialog has a button that says "Show Details," click it. Then, you can change settings in the popup menu.

Some text goes missing in the PDF output after I convert FM8 book

I am using Framemaker 8.0, Acrobat 8.0 Professional, Acrobat Distiller 8.0.
When I convert my Framemaker books to PDFs, some text (especially Table Heading tags) go missing in the PDF output. I have tried to change the font colour, change the cell shading, and many other options. But, the problem persists.
I saw some similar links on the forums with this kind of problems. For example,

After going through these links from the forums, I realized that this is a known issue. But, the above links direct me to Microsoft patches and these patches are available only for Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, and Windwos Vista operating systems. My operating system is Windows 7 Professional, 32-bit version.
One more thing I want to say is we have never faced this problem earlier. It started appearing now.
While I know that the world (many of us) moved on to Framemaker 9 and 10, I also know that there is someone out there to help me to overcome this issue.

Thanks for your response.
We tried this option also. In fact, the Distiller shows this option by default. Secondly, we have recently updated our old template to reflect the new corporate styles and we suspect something went wrong there. We once again took the old template and updated with the new colour definitions and fonts, this time very carefully and it started working. Now, the text is not missing.
So, the result is something is wrong with our template. Quite surprising is it is inconsistent and some places the text appears and some places it does not.
Where do you work? Are you in India?

Output Option menu is missing from the print dialogue box

I have just upgraded to the latest G5 PPC and installed OS 10.4.6 and in all applications in the Print dialogue box I cannot find the Output Options menu so I can output a postscript file, is there another patch that can be installed to add this option back into the printer settings. I didn't have this issue with 10.3.9 only in 10.4.X

I have looked the PDF menu but I am not happy that it states "Save PDF as Postscript", this option was available before and we had issues with some of the files it created. I cannot guarantee that it is using my postscript printer descrition which I need as we need full High Res files with NO downsampling at any stage and I'm not confident this is the solution, there has the be a better way to create a postscript file.

I cannot get my ePrint to work with Adobe Acrobat (ReaderX) and pdf files. I get a "Failed to send" message. I have NO problems printing text or MS-WORD files so I know my Internet, printer, and local intranet are working. Help?

When you say the bottom right of you screen, are you talking about your computer screen? If you are then, you are not using ePrint, which is fine. You may just be having some wireless network issues. Try this. When it asks for the DNS information on step six, enter Google's public DNS (Preferred = 8.8.8.8 | Alt = 8.8.4.4). If that does not help, let me know and I will see what I can do.
By the way, if you are emailing the documents to your printer, which is ePrint, you are right about the file size limit, however, the limit is 5 MB. Most likely you are not Creating PDF or Docx documents that are anywhere near that size, so that should not be the issue if you are using ePrint. If you are using ePrint, try turning the router and printer off. Turn the router on and let it become stable. Turn the printer back on. Turn off and on any other devices that are connected to your wireless network as well, so they can re-establish network connection. Now retry the ePrint job. If that does not work, let me know.

My Photoshop CS5 is missing from the App. directory but the folder to reinstall has vanished. How can I reinstall???

I do not have a disc & believe I got it when I bought this desktop in 2011. All other software in the Creative Suite works fine but Photoshop says: "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory. Please reinstall the application." Can anyone help me???

If you registered your Adobe applications, you can retrieve the s/n by accessing your Adobe account at the Adobe corporate web site.
You can do a search for the trial version.

How can I get iTunes to recognize the apps that are missing from the library screen but still on the machine??

My apps are not showing-up in the iTunes library but they are present in the apps folder. How can I get iTunes to recognize their presence?

Ran Disk Utility, Techtool, Disk Warrior and then reinstalled Mountain Lion, updated it and repaired permissions. No change.
There is a file that says 'iTunes Library (damaged), which is the iTunes Database file. How can that file be re-created?
Any technical help on replacing that file with a new, fresh one would be appreciated!

It has always been very basic to maintain a backup of media and other important files. If you chose to reinstall the OS without having a backup, well that just is not smart.
If you are in the US and running iTunes 10.3 or later, iTunes purchases can be redownloaded via iCloud. Simply log into the iTunes store, select purchases, purchase history and redownload the content.
If you are not in the US.... well, seems you just learned and important and possibly expensive lesson.

Why in the levels box, "OK" is missing in the layers side, but not in the other?

I have used several past versions of Elements. The past Levels control had an OK Button to use when I was done with the adjustment. Elements 9 does not have the OK button on the layers side, but does have it using the Enhanse drop down menu or Ctrl L. How can I finish setting the levels control with no OK button on the layers side on the right?. It was much easier before when they both had OK buttons to use when I was finished. Does anyone know why it was left out. I can't find an answer in any tutorial.

Thanks, You are correct. It was much more user friendly before when both LEVELS dialoge boxes were the same. The only button on the adjustment layer side now is AUTO, where we used to have OK, Cancel, Reset, and Auto. These were all nice one click functions before where now it is two or more. What is the advantage to me to have to go to a drop menu now to reset or close. To cancel an adjustment, it appears I have to go to the reset tab and then the close tab or scroll through my adjustment layers and then right click on that layer and releae on Delete Layer. IMO, not better
For some reason the programmers have to keep earning there pay by moving things to different locations from revision to revision and we have to hunt for them. I have never found a section of a new release saying, "We have moved this and this action item to a new location or drop menu to keep you on your toes. Good luck in getting used to where it is now." By the way, Elements 2.0 is the first one I started with and I have taken five different Elements courses in the local school. The teachers don't like the confusion each revision makes either.

IPhone 4s won't access my email from the home screen, but it's fine in settings

This has only started recently. When I go to check my e-mail, a screen comes up with a bunch of different e-mail providers for me to choose from - as if I have never set up the email. But when I go to settings, my account is fine. Then after a while (10-15 min) I get the little red circle and I can get into my email with no trouble. I have been using the same e-mail address since I got the 3G or whatever way back when. Any ideas? Since I don't have to do anything to make it start working again, I'm afraid it's a glitch that I can't do anything about. I love the iPhone and wouldn't trade it for another smartphone, but it's really been trying my patience recently with the crashing and the freezing and this stuff.

Do you have an Restrictions set that would hide the apps? Settings>General>Restrictions
Have you used the Spotlight search? Maybe you just can't find them.

I'm brand new to Macs and Air. How do you make the onscreen text bigger overall. The print is super small?

I am going blind trying to see the tiny text on this laptop. I'm sure there is a way to make it bigger overall. Also need bigger text (to see as I type) on e-mails? What do I do?

For Mail. With Mail open, from the menu bar, click Mail > Preferences then select Fonts & Colors tab.
Click Select to change the font and font size.

My Google search bar is completely missing, not the toolbar search but the one on the main google page

Whenever I type in Google and get to their main page my search box is completely gone all I see is the cursor blinking, then when I go to start typing something in it, it goes to another page like it usually does where the search results start appearing but on that page the search box is missing too! All I see is a cursor blinking and I can't even see what I'm typing anymore, the magnifying button next to where the search box is still there but it looks as if it got moved to the way left side, can someone please help me out! This is really frustrating me.
