9672 error when adding canon CP720 printer

Hi,
I'm just trying to add a printer using the airport extreme. The system finds the CANON Selphy CP720 printer and locates a driver but i get an error message "Error 9672" when I click the "add" button. Any clue?
Thanks in advance

The CP720 driver included with Snow Leopard is the Gutenprint version. You could look at using the Canon provided driver via the following link.
http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0100226102.html
If the Canon driver has the same issue, try connecting the printer directly to the Mac via USB to see if this works okay. With it connected to the USB port of the Airport Extreme, it should work fine with either driver so I am not sure why you are getting this error (usually related to communication errors). So I am curious to see if the direct USB connection works for you...

  • Get 9672 error when adding an Epson 7800 connected to an aiport express

    I get a 9672 error when I try to add our epson 7800. It is a rendevous printer connected to an airport express. The aiport express is an extension of our aiport network base which is an airport extream. I am trying to add it to a G5 with osx 10.3.9.
    I can add it to our mac minis that run 10.4 with no problem.
    I tried deleting the driver and reinstalling the latest driver from epson and deleting the printer preferences.
    It shows up as a rendevous printer but when I try and add it I get a 9672 error.

    The problem seemed to be that we were printing to two epson Printers, a cx5400 and a 7800.
    I repaired permissions.
    Then I deleted the epson print drivers by putting the epson folder which is in the Library folder in the trash. Next I deleted the printer preferences by putting all the apple.print files in the users, home folder, library, preferenced folder in the trash and rebooted.
    I had to reinstall the printer driver for the 5400 first, It requires a reboot, then reinstall the 7800 print driver. Then I connected the 7800 from my g5 via usb, added the printer and printed. Next I put the put the 7800 on the Airport Express, added the printer and printed. I then printed to the 5400 and deleted the printer I defined to print via usb from the G5.
    Now it works. I tried to install the drivers and add the printers in many different orders and it seemed to be very important that the order above be followed. If I didn't I would get the 9672 error when I tried to add the 7800 or a communications error when I tried to print to the 7800.
    Support at epson let me know how to deleted the printer driver.

  • Error when adding Essbase server...

    Hi,
    I installed Hyperion System 9.3.1 in my development machine and encounter the following error when adding a Essbase server in AAS for the first time.
    Error: 1042017: Network error: The client or server timed out waiting to receive data using TCP/IP. Check network connections. Increase the NetRetryCount and/or NetDelay values in the ESSBASE.CFG file. Update this file on both client and server. Restart the client and try again.
    I used the default user "admin" and password "password". I used my servername:10080 as the server name. I hope I am right.
    Why is this happening? I tried changing netdelay settings but still get the same. Is this something else? Does this have anything to do with my TCP/IP settings? I am installing this on a virtual PC.
    I couldn't find an answer in previous posts.
    regards
    h

    The things that come to mind:
    The server name you use should be the name of the virtual PC, not the machine it's running on. Also, depending on the settings for the Virtual PC environment, you may have to change the network options to allow it to be visible to the network, be in the right domain, etc...
    The above may or may not get you any closer, the error message itself is just saying it can't receive a response from the server, which means the server never got the request or can't send a response back.
    Good Luck,

  • Library error when adding contact or when logging in

    The messenger server has a replica of the partition holding the users.
    It's an OES 2 sp2 server, and the GW Messenger is 2.04.
    Sometimes we see an error that says 'Library error' when adding a contact, or it doesn't show all users that exists with the search parameter given.
    We also sporadically see a 'Library error' when some users log in to it.
    Looking in the log I see an error that says 0xAE16 when users log in fails.
    I can find the 0xAE11 error in the TID's but not the 0xAE16, I did find an article on the forums, mentioning this problem http://forums.novell.com/novell-prod...or-server.html, they mention memory problems, so it seems to me there is a bug that needs fixing.

    I've disabled the '/diruseralias-"Internet EMail Address"' setting that was set up in the strtup.ma and strtup.aa scripts.
    I've also, for now at least, chosen another replica.
    I haven't seen the errors yet, so here's hoping...

  • Successful-ok-conflicting-attributes error message when adding Canon mp510

    *successful-ok-conflicting-attributes* is the error message i get when i try to add my Canon mp510 to IMAC G4 FLAT PANEL running os x 10.4.11. System worked before an upgrade attempt using canon driver off canon website. Scanner wasnt working, first time attempt, and I downloaded drivers off canon site. Never worked, tried to go back to the good old ways and I cant get computer to add printer...
    thoughts?

    Hi there,
    I have never seen or read about this error appearing so I don't why this is occurring. My guess would be that you may have a conflict between old and new drivers. So the following is a procedure that has worked previously for repairing faulty installations of the Canon PIXMA/MP/MX drivers.
    1. Open Printer Setup Utility, click on Printer Setup Utility and select Reset Printing System.
    2. Close the Printer Setup Utility.
    3. Go to Library > Printers > Canon and delete the contents of the BJPrinters folder.
    4. Go to Library > Receipts and delete the file Canon MP510 xxx.pkg
    5. Empty the Trash
    6. Unplug the Canon USB cable and restart the Mac
    7. Install the latest version of the Canon driver. Check the Canon web site to ensure you have the latest version.
    8. Once the driver installation is complete, go to Applications > Utilities and open Disk Utility. Run the Repair Disk Permissions option.
    9. Plug the MP510 USB cable back into the Mac
    10. Open Printer Setup Utility and wait. Somtimes the printer will automatically add. If nothing happens after a minute, click Add, select the Default Browser view and select the Canon printer connected via the USB port. The Print Using menu should automatically change to Canon IJ Printer.
    11. Click Add to complete the creation of the printer queue.

  • Error when trying to add printer on USB Print Server

    I'm attempting to connect to a Canon MP530 printer via a Netcomm NP3680 USB Print Server.
    When attempting to add the printer via the Print & Scan process, the USB port is seen by the MacBook and listed - ie: mini_me-3-usb2, and the driver is selected automatically without any problem after gathering printer information, however the macbook is unable to connect and returns the error: "An error occurred while trying to add the selected printer."
    If a manual configuration is attempted the message returned is: "An error occurred while trying to add the selected printer. Unable to communicate with the printer at this time." Further manual config via the IP address will allow the printer to be entered, however the printer is non-responsive.
    I have setup this printer via the same Print Server on the same Macbook prior to this and it setup and worked correctly - the same setup is working correctly on my wife's macbook. However I had to remove the setup on my Macbook and can't get the printer functioning again on this particular Macbook, or my son's.
    The direct connection setup via USB directly works without any problem at all.
    I'm currently running OSX 10.8.1, however my son is running 10.7.x and has the same problem. My wife's macbook is also running 10.7.x and is working fine.
    Can anyone throw any light on this issue - it is truely frustrating, especially when I know it has worked in the past.
    thanks very much in advance

    After 55 views and 0 replies, and a number of calls to Applecare (without success) , I decided to once again troubleshoot the problem.
    Fixed!
    Bearing in mind, I had no other printers already set up in the Print and Scan window....
    I removed the following items from the /library/preferences directory:
    "com.apple.print.makequeues.plist",
    "jp.co.canon.ij.print.filter.raster2canonij.plist",
    "jp.co.canon.ij.print.utility.command2canonij.plist",
    "org.cups.printers.plist"
    I also removed all items from the /library/printers directory (including Canon, PPDs, plist files and icons)
    Then I retried to install the printer..... (holidng my breath) and the Console showed:
    Repairing access permissions of "/Library/Printers/InstalledPrinters.plist"
    All is fine now

  • Office jet 6700 printer jam error when there is no printer jam

    I get a continuous printer jam error when there is no jam present.  I have tried connecting and reconnecting.  Same error.

    Hi @lbrockhurst
    Although you are not experiencing a true paper jam, the solutions presented in the following document might help to resolve the issue; A 'Paper Jam' Error Displays on the HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One and 6700 Premium e-All-in-One Pri...
    As you will see in the document above, paper jam messages are not only a result of physical paper jams;
    The following factors can cause paper jams:
    Paper loaded incorrectly in the paper tray.
    Damaged or dirty paper rollers.
    Torn, wrinkled, or damp paper loaded in the paper tray.
    The rear access door or two-sided printing accessory (duplexer) might not be closed or is not locked into place.
    Paper was added to a stack already in the tray while the HP product was printing.
    The tray contains more than one type of paper.
    The paper is jammed inside the HP product where you cannot see it.
    An obstruction is blocking the paper path.
    Torn pieces of paper from a previous jam are stuck in the product.
    The tray is too full.
    If printing on an envelope, the edges of the envelope are bent.
    I have also seen communication hiccups cause such error messages. This may sound silly, but if the issue persists, after completing the steps in the document I provided, let's leave the router on and unplug the power cable (NOTE: Do not reset the router.),  then do the same with the printer, and shut down the computer. After a full minute, plug the router back in, wait for it to fully power up, then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light to become solid. Once both the router and printer are on, go ahead and turn the computer back on. Doing this will refresh the network connection.
    I hope this heps.

  • Illegal start of type error when adding for loop to applet

    I have typed the following applet to print a horizontal row of stars with the length entered by the user (i.e. user enters 4 and applet prints out 4 stars in a row). Here is my code:
    import java.awt.Graphics;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class Histograms extends JApplet
           String input = "";
            int number;
         public void init()
              input = JOptionPane.showInputDialog ( null,
              "Enter a number\nbetween 1 and 30:" );
              number = Integer.parseInt( input );
         public void paint ( Graphics g )
              for ( int counter = 1; counter <= number; counter++ )
                                    System.out.print( "*" );
               System.out.println();
    };Now I am trying to make it do this 5 times, so it seems like just surrounding the init and paint methods in a for loop (i.e. for ( int i=1; i <= 5; i++ ) ) would do the trick but when I do that I get an illegal start of type error when trying to compile. Does anyone know why this error would show up. The most common reply to questions of this sort seems to be to check the closing braces but I have checked very carefully after adding the for loop and don't see any problems with mismatched braces. Could you please help me get on the right track as to how I can make this applet print a horizontal row of stars five times? All help is appreciated.

    Hello JTMOBOP:
    You were correct in figuring that I was trying to get the applet to print five rows of stars of different length according to five different inputs from the user. I tried your suggestions, and the code now does compile and run, but it still does not run properly (i.e. only asks user once for input and displays row of stars but does not show an input dialog again). Here is the code I have retyped:
    import java.awt.Graphics;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class Histograms extends JApplet
       String input = "";
       int[] number = new int[5];
       public void init()
          for ( int i = 0; i < 5; i++ )
             input = JOptionPane.showInputDialog ( null,
                "Enter a number\nbetween 1 and 30:" );
             number[i] = Integer.parseInt( input );
       public void paint ( Graphics g )
          for ( int i = 0; i < 5; i++ )
             for ( int myNumber = 0; myNumber <= number; myNumber++ )
    System.out.print( "*" );
    System.out.println();
    Any ideas what's going on here?
    Also, your comments about not being able to loop a method make sense. Thank you for the input so far.

    * TableSorter is a decorator for TableModels; adding sorting
    * functionality to a supplied TableModel. TableSorter does
    * not store or copy the data in its TableModel; instead it maintains
    * a map from the row indexes of the view to the row indexes of the
    * model. As requests are made of the sorter (like getValueAt(row, col))
    * they are passed to the underlying model after the row numbers
    * have been translated via the internal mapping array. This way,
    * the TableSorter appears to hold another copy of the table
    * with the rows in a different order.
    * <p/>
    * TableSorter registers itself as a listener to the underlying model,
    * just as the JTable itself would. Events recieved from the model
    * are examined, sometimes manipulated (typically widened), and then
    * passed on to the TableSorter's listeners (typically the JTable).
    * If a change to the model has invalidated the order of TableSorter's
    * rows, a note of this is made and the sorter will resort the
    * rows the next time a value is requested.
    * <p/>
    * When the tableHeader property is set, either by using the
    * setTableHeader() method or the two argument constructor, the
    * table header may be used as a complete UI for TableSorter.
    * The default renderer of the tableHeader is decorated with a renderer
    * that indicates the sorting status of each column. In addition,
    * a mouse listener is installed with the following behavior:
    * <ul>
    * <li>
    * Mouse-click: Clears the sorting status of all other columns
    * and advances the sorting status of that column through three
    * values: {NOT_SORTED, ASCENDING, DESCENDING} (then back to
    * NOT_SORTED again).
    * <li>
    * SHIFT-mouse-click: Clears the sorting status of all other columns
    * and cycles the sorting status of the column through the same
    * three values, in the opposite order: {NOT_SORTED, DESCENDING, ASCENDING}.
    * <li>
    * CONTROL-mouse-click and CONTROL-SHIFT-mouse-click: as above except
    * that the changes to the column do not cancel the statuses of columns
    * that are already sorting - giving a way to initiate a compound
    * sort.
    * </ul>

    The code you posted doesn't help us at all. Its just a duplicate of the code from the tutorial. The custom code is what you have written. For example do you update the TableModel from the Event Thread? Do you update the SortModel or the DefaultTableModel? If you actually provide your test code and somebody has already downloaded the sort classes, then maybe they will test your code against the classes. But I doubt if people will download the sort classes and create a test program just to see if they can duplicate your results (at least I know I'm not about to).

  • While IE 8 prints FF 3.6.16 runs into a "unknown error" when I attemp to print from a website; how to fix it?

    I call up a web page, I click on File and the click on Print. The print process begins but at about 50% progress an error message pops up saying that "An unknown error has occurred in the printing process..." and the process comes to a halt.
    IE 8 simply prints the same page without difficulty. HP support was not able to help.

    So far,it seems to work.Funny,I have described this problem to someone at [email protected],and they couldn't help me,and never suggested the "reset" option.The problem has been intermittent,which leaves me holding my breath-hopefully,my problem is permanently solved.Thanks!
    Update:
    Not sure if this helps,but something bizarre is happening in my Preferences. The "print.print_printer" entry has disappeared (which I had reset earlier),and when I close and restart FF,the settings in Preferences change,seemingly at random.Sometimes Print works,sometimes it doesn't. Attached are screen shots of both Preference states which seem to cycle back and forth. It doesn't seem to affect the ability/inability to print when in either state.

    The "database vendor error 556" indicates that the query to the database returned with error 556.  It's vendor specific.  Look up your database vendor's documented error codes, to see what 556 indicates.
    Doing a bit of googling looks like the issue is that the ODBNC datasource does not exist. Remember that there are 32 bit and 64 bit ODBC datasources. If your app is 32 bit, the DSN must be 32 bit, if it is compiled as 64 bit the DSN must be 64 bit.

  • TableAdapter Configuration Wizard gives error when adding new TableAdapter

    Hi,
    I recently downloaded and installed the ODT for visual studio on my computer. I am running VS2008 on Windows 7 64-bit. I am able to create an ODP.NET connection to the Oracle XE 10.2g instance that is running on my computer with no problems and use that connection to browse the database. When I add a DataSet to my project, and start adding TableAdapters to the DataSet, I am getting errors. In an attempt to figure out what the problem is, I have followed various scenarios. I will describe each scenario, and what the end result is, and then after I have described them all, I will explain what I think the problem might be. Here are the different scenarios I have used:
    Scenario 1:
    From the Server Explorer, highlight ALL of the tables in my schema and drag them to the designer (all table adapters are added with no issues). I can add additional queries to each of the TableAdapters and then change the additional queries by right clicking and choosing "Configure". This all works with no issues. However, on certain TableAdapters, if I try to modify the primary query (Fill,GetData()), I can open the query editor just fine, change various settings, etc, but when I click on "Finish" I get the following error:
    Configure TableAdapter TABLENAME failed.
    Index was outside the bounds of the array.
    Scenario 2:
    From the Server Explorer, drag tables from my schema onto the designer one at a time. Some tables get added just fine, but for the rest of them, I get the following error:
    Failed to merge object(s).
    Index was outside the bounds of the array.
    Scenario 3:
    On the Dataset Designer, add tables one at a time by right clicking and choosing "Add -> TableAdapter" and then using SQL to define the query for each table. Some tables get added just fine, but for the rest of them, I get the following error:
    Failed to add TableAdapter.
    Index was outside the bounds of the array.
    Ok... now that I have described all of the different scenarios, I will explain what I think the problem is, and why. Based on my research, I believe the underlying problem has to do with Foreign Key Constraints on the various tables. While working on Scenarios 2 & 3, the same exact tables worked just fine in both scenarios. When I started looking at the definitions for the tables in my schema, it turns out that all of the tables that failed had foreign key constraints defined. When I remove the FK constraints from a table, I am then able to add it to my dataset and change the default query with no problems. My original application used the System.Data.OracleClient provided by Microsoft. When adding my tableadapters using the microsoft data provider, the FK relations are automatically generated for me in the designer, but not with the Oracle Data Provider
    I would be happy to provide you with the DDL that I used for creating my schema (it is not very big) if needed.
    Thanks,
    Jim
