975x POST freezes. D-bracket reads Init HD Controller

I have just finished assembling my system and upon boot the d-bracket cycles through all the startup steps until it gets to "Initializing Hard Drive Controller". At that point the boot process stops. I have tried eliminating all hardware down to the CPU+fan, Memory, and Video Card. I tried using just one strip of memory in slot1. All boot configurations result in the same halt on the same step. Is there anything else I should try or am overlooking?
All the troubleshooting I have seen so far requires that I get to the BIOS to make changes. As is, I don't get to a point where there is a video signal being sent to the display.

I tried resetting the CMOS by powering down and holding the switch for 10 seconds. When it starts it performs the extra cycling for the reset and then goes through the same boot process as before and still halts at with the same indicator lights on the D-Bracket. Again, I tested it with nothing connected but the CPU+fan, memory, and video card.
I pulled the motherboard and checked to see that there aren't any extra mounting posts touching the board. There are only 9... all of them where the screws mount the board to the tray.

Cannot Login to Read Only Domain Controller

One of my Read Only Domain Controller Servers shut down unexpectedly due to a power outage and now I cannot login to it anymore. When the server powered on again, it came up with an error regarding on of the hard drives failing (RAID1)
I get a message Access is Denied when I try to login with one of my domain admin accounts. As it is a RODC, there are no local accounts for me to use. The RODC is running on Windows Server 2008 R2. The server is also running as a DHCP/Print/File server for
the office so these are not working as well.
I checked my PDC and it is coming up with the following error in the event viewer

I have tried to reset the computer password with netdom but I get the following error
netdom resetpwd /server:rodc01 /userd:administrator /passwordd:*
The machine account password for the local machine could not be reset.
Logon Failure: The target account name is incorrect.
The command failed to complete successfully.
If I try to reset the password using the IP address instead, I get the following error
netdom resetpwd /server:192.168.10.1 /userd:administrator /passwordd:*
The machine account password for the local machine could not be reset.
Access is denied.
The command failed to complete successfully.
I checked my AD and DNS and the rodc object is present
If I run repadmin /replsum on the PDC I get the message for the faulty RODC server
Experienced the following operational errors trying to retrieve replication information:

Logon to the server in Directory Services Restore Mode (DSRM) using the password you supplied during DCPROMO and verify that the Active Directory database isn't corrupted on the RODC - You will most likely see indications on this in the Directory

P7N SLI FI post freeze

ok so once i turn on my computer and it starts to post it freezes. It will get to the ram test and it shows correct amount of 4 gigs but after that nothing, any help would be a appreciated

BIOS v2.0 does not officially support your processor. You need to install a CPU supported by BIOS v2.0 and update your BIOS to be able to use the Q9400.

NF750-g55 post freeze

This is my first MSI board and i luv it. It works studly. Everything seems perfect, and functional, but it freezes on post when it detects the PCI card. It sees it, but can't seem to boot past it. Post screen reports the card twice: Once as PCI 1 firewire cntrl, then again as PCI 1 unknown devise. That's right; its a sound card with external firewire enabled base station for pre amping and plugging in musical instruments to record. So it sees it fine.
System specs:
Amd Phenom II x4 965 black edition (unclocked)
4gigs A-DATA 1600+ memory runs 1333 stock, overclocked to 1600 using 1:4 setting in bios.
MSI NF750-G55 motherboard
600 watt PSU LS Ultra ULT-ls6000p
Plextor DVD SATA
Maxtor 250gig HD SATA
O/S winxp pro
The card the system is freezing on is a sound card. A Creative Audigy II Platinum Pro. I have been using this board and the creative forums for the last 3 days to try to fix it, but this is a new motherboard and there is not a lot posted on it yet. The card works great, already double checked it in the ol ladys P4 XP computer. Detects it no problem, and loads it right up.
It will boot if I enable fast booting, but this setting allows the bios to skip a few checks, Like detecting the PCI card,and the result is it is not passing a signal to windows that the PCI card is Present. So, Windows does not detect it. Duh...
I found a related post here on a different msi motherboard where the user was having the same problem with the same sound card. Froze in post when it detected the card, just like mine. He disabled USB devises in the BIOS and his msi board then booted to the o/s and reported his creative Audigy II Platinum Pro. Tried it out of desperation, no go on this board. Post still froze. That's o.k. though, i don't have any plans to trade off my USB functionality to enable a sound card.
Also checked the tension on the mounting screws, but i don't think i'm getting any shorts. Works perfect, long as i enable fast booting. I have tried it in both Win7 32bit, and WinXP pro 32 bit. Same result.
PSU, hadn't thought of that. O.k. I grab a 550 watt PSU out of the ol' ladys computer. Specs: Its in chinese. Label lists a lot of power info but i dont see a model no# to reference that i recognize. Same results, system works great, but freezes when I slow boot. Still freezes when it detects the sound card. When i enable fast booting it shoots me right into windows, no probs, but windows never sees the card that way.
Changed PCI latency in bios from 64, to 32, no difference. Still won't boot.
There is only 1 PCI slot on this board so changing slots is not an option.
Loaded F6 optimal setting,(disabled onboard sound) then fresh installed winxp pro. Same thing. Card still doesent show up in devise manager.
I have no progs installed to create any conflicts. Loaded the motherboard drivers, nothing. Dl all microsoft updates, still nothing. I mean everything works great, but the card is not showing up in devise mangager.
Now, if i can't get this thing to boot without enabling fast booting, it won't detect the sound card, and therefore will not pass that info to windows. Windows will never detect it like this.
Oh yeah, i let creative dance me around for a while too and tried all their solutions, total uninstall all creative, then reboot and extract their exe file with winrar and try to install drivers. That works, but windows still doesent see anything to install the drivers in, lol. Good thinking there creative. Clean boot troubleshooting, tried that. I am sure these solutions work for some, but in this case it is putting the cart before the horse. The bios is not passing the sound card info to windows to detect to begin with, there is nothing showing up in devise manager, so thier solutions are useless for me.
The prob is this motherboard. I have to successfully slow boot to get it to pass the card info to windows before it shows up in devise manager. If i can do that, or even figure a way to do it just once, windows will detect it, and i'll be able to load the drivers. If i have to rig the bios a certain way to accomplish this, I figure you guys will know how.

Well, you'll be pleased to know that i haven't been idle, and though i don't know the solution, i do believe i know the question now.
And oh yeah, onboard sound is always disabled on my machine. I bought this to create like a dream home studio for me, i'm not a gamer. Realtek can't do digital audio, they don't even have an Asio driver. I did try it in cubase on an earlier XP installation. All i can say is, thank gawd my ears can't hurl, so don't worry. Onboard sound is always disabled.
Let me be a little clearer on the freeze. It is not a freeze at all, its a pause. The moment post detects the Platinum Pro sound card, it stops dead in its tracks. Originally i thought this was a freeze because none of the f-keys or the esc key will work. Those are the keys we normally use to manipulate post. I discovered later that if i waited about 20 seconds then hit pause followed by the "M" key, it would snap out of its coma and continue the post. Also noted is the fact that i can hit cntrl+alt+delete at any time to reboot the system, so not all the keys on the keyboard are nonfunctional when it pauses. It will not continue post without my interference, it will just sit there till hell freezes over, or i reboot, or invoke the pause and m key routine.
It identifys my card as:
PCI Slot-1 Firewire cntlr
PCI Slot-1 Multimedia Devise
PCI Slot-1 Unknown Devise
These three listings are the key to this i believe. Notice that none of them have been assigned an IRQ by the system. This is odd to me as the system seems to assign everything else with IRQ numbers with np. The post screen is full of them.
I've done some further testing. The ol ladys P4 is running an Audigy 2 value sound card. Out it goes, and into mine.
Post lists nothing at all for the card, but it does not pause and continues without issue into windows. Wow. I didn't expect that. I thought sure it would see it. But no. I repeat the boot...nothing. Post doesn't see it at all.
All right, now i'm thinking something is up with this PCI slot. I'm wondering if it works at all, and suspecting not.
So to check it i pull out the Audigy 2 value, and install the D-link DFE-530TX+ Ethernet adapter card.
Boot. Post detects it at once as:
PCI Slot-1 Ethernet Adapter IRQ10
Completes post without issue and into windows. Devise manager loads automatically and loads the cards drivers for me, i don't need to lift a finger. Damn, that was impressive. I luv this thing again.
But this proves the PCI slot works. Arrrrrggghhhhhhh!!!
Now, since hope springs eternal, and i'm wondering if its working now...out goes the network card, and back in goes the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro.
Boot. Post pauses again the moment it detects the card, damn. And this is a bad one, it is a couple of minutes before the pause and m key routine have any effect on it. Once i coax it out of its coma it shows the same detection for the card it did before:
PCI Slot-1 Firewire cntlr
PCI Slot-1 Multimedia Devise
PCI Slot-1 Unknown Devise
Again I point out, they have not been assigned any IRQ's by the system.
Seems like a simple fix, but i cannot find anything in the bios that i recognize as being able to effect the changes. I can't find anything for plug and play. The manual that came in the box isn't giving anything up either, with only the vaugest mentions on the Bios. I'm not one who likes to pull switches and turn knobs just to see what will happen, so i'm stuck.
Bas, is there a way to override the system and force it to assign the missing IRQ's? Can't do it in windows because its not showing up there. I have to do it in the bios.

Neo Platinum system [init keyboard controller] on D-bracket

Hi guys,
I put together my new doom 3 system tonight, and now I can't get anywhere with it. It's an Athlon 3000+ with a Neo platinum Nforce3 board.
I had the system all hooked up in the case, but as soon as I hit the power, the d-bracket jumped to the "initialize keyboard controller" state. Right now, I've got the system on my desk with only the 20-pin power connector + the 4-pin 12V connector going into the mobo, along with the d-bracket. I'm still getting the same thing. Would replacing the keyboard solve this problem? It does it even when the keyboard isn't connected :/
I really hope it isn't some broken hardware... But if it is, can I rule out the processor being fried, since I can make it to the init keyboard state? This is driving me nuts! I want to try doom out... Any help would be VERY MUCH appreciated. Thanks guys,

I got this problem whe i didnt plug a fan into the cpu heatsink fan slot thingy (got a vapo so didnt need it). I plugged my spare psu fan into it and after that worked without a problem.

Adobe form-Able to post data using Adobe Reader 9 but not with Adobe Proff

Now when user are posting the purchase requistion using the form,they are able to post the data using
Adobe Reader 9 but not with Adobe Reader professional.

Emails stored in many folders, but unable to open one folder - freezes unable to read contents. Other folders ok. Have removed .msg files but no difference.e

Hi, I'm new here and having a problem with my Thunderbird, so wondered if you could please help me?
Within Thunderbird I have many folders created in my left pane for the storage of business mail relevant to my work, which I need to keep for my customer records on a long term basis, so that i have all the info of what has been discussed. The total file of Thunderbird is - 819,717kb in size when backed up.
This has been fine until recently, when after trying to open one folder it is mostly frozen, on one occassion the folder opened but showed the lines of mail but no subjects, writing or dates to identify each line.
I have tried going into properties to repair the file, but that freezes too. I have also looked into users/'relevant folder'/AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles/'relevant file' and removed the .msf files - but this has made no difference at all.
If someone has any ideas this would be appreciated.

Create a new folder and select it.
Point the import export tools as the file through import of an MBOX file (that is it's file type) and see if it can import from the file. There is more than one type of MBOX file and the import tools appear to read through some issues Thunderbird can not.
The Import Export tools appear on the Tools menu (alt+T) once installed

FIX : Elements 11 photodownloader freezes Win7SP1 when reading from SD card

I found a problem with Elements 11 and the photodownloader. (complete freeze, no blue screen, no possibility to shut down the application because the keyboard, mouse and screen are completely frozen, only shutdown the hard way possible)
My machine is running Win7SP1 64 Bit
SInce a couple of days my computer froze completely when I tried downloading photo's from an SD card.
After an extensive diagnostic, reinstalling elements, testing via an USB key, I found the problem was when photodownloader reads from an SD card.
With this I checked all Microsoft updates which had been installed and which might affect the SD card reader, when I found the MS update KB2800095.
When I removed this update, and rebooted, the photodownloader worked fine again, even when reading from SD cards.
Something in the patch from Microsoft makes photodownloader and Win7 to completely freeze up.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. The autoplay box automatically comes up with the Elements 12 box to select, but when I click on it, it gives that hateful noise and says "that there is no file associated with it and to go to default programs and associate it with one. When I go to the Default programs, it gives this list of stupid stuff like "Paint" whatever that is, and stuff I never use and there is no way to add Elements 12 or any other thing. Have right clicked, left clicked and everything else but nothing works.
How could I uninstall the entire program and not lose my organizer that has 40,000 photos and videos on there? I don't understand it.
And, also, I have to admit that I have no understanding whatsoever to understand the link that you so kindly gave me. Sorry to be such an idiot, but I'm a nurse, not a computer expert and guess it is pretty clear that I just don't understand it. My husband is an IT person but has no idea what to tell me because he has never worked with stuff like Elements or Photoshop, etc.
Any other suggestions that I could understand would be really appreciated. Am just so frustrated.

ANOTHER blue screen post - yes I've read the others

Please don't post any links to the Apple support docs. I've read them all, tried it, and their solutions do nothing. My system does not have the "ApplicationEnhancer.bundle" file present, and these are BRAND NEW 10.5 installs (not upgrades), which are going to blue screen within minutes or hours after install, so doing an "archive and install" is just pointless as doing a fresh install is the same thing.
So, now I have tried THREE different completely fresh (reformatted disk) installs of Leopard on my Dual 2.5 G5, and every single time I end up with a blue screen after I restart once or twice. This has happened right after a 10.5.0 install from the DVD on the first restart (before even entering account info), and it has happened after getting all the way to 10.5.3 with other system software up-to-date, then next morning, blue screen, no startup. In 2 of the 3 instances, I never installed ANY other software other than what popped up in software update, and in the 3rd instance I got as far as Photoshop and setting up my eMail before back to blue screen fun.
What's the deal? Leopard is just unusable on a Dual G5? I got it installed on a much older eMac and 12" Powerbook G4 with no issues using the same install DVD, and the G5 always appears to be fine, until a restart and then nada. I'm very careful to repair disk permissions before and after any software updates, and as I said, I've barely installed any software on the computer, and actually installed no extra software in a couple of cases, yet the problem continues.
Other interesting facts: I would normally hold down 'option' and choose my backup cloned Tiger firewire volume to boot up off of since I can't boot up off the internal, but holding option also results in an infinite spinning watch icon - the internal Leopard volume is visible, but it never shows my external 10.4 volume and never stops spinning the watch so I can't actually choose an option anyway.
At this point, I'm going to clone my backup Tiger OS back to my internal and give up on 10.5, but would love to know why this is happening, and why when there are seemingly dozens of other threads about the same issue that there is no solution.

That IS interesting, because at that stage you are not running Leopard. OS X has not yet loaded, and you are only running Startup Manager, which is in the Mac's firmware. Since you are experiencing problems even before OS X has booted, I wonder if you have a hardware problem - either a bad or loose internal component or a flaky external cable, hub, or device. Try disconnecting any external devices or hubs. I would also try resetting PRAM and running Apple Hardware Test if you haven't already done so.

P6N Diamond - No Post, Incomplete D-Bracket info

Hi, my computer just stopped working recently, I haven't changed anything in months. The power comes on, fans start, but no video. The D-Bracket LEDs are the following:
First
1. Red
2. Red
3. Red
4. dark
Then after one second:
1. Green
2. Red
3. Red
4. dark
Then no change after that. Could some tell me that means? Is the motherboard dead entirely?

Unplug the PSU from A/C power and >>Clear CMOS<<. If that does not change anything, test the board outside the case on a non-conducting surface in barebone configuration (CPU, video card, one stick of RAM, power connectors, keyboard, nothing else).

Make sure you have view hidden and system files turned on in windows explorer (tools> folder options)
Delete the file: New Doc Sizes.psp from folder: C:\Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\8.0\Adobe Photoshop CS Settings
Don't edit it with notepad or externally. In cs, you create the custom doc sizes and save from right on the File> New dialog.

Photoshop CS 8.0 freezing up on "Reading Text Global Resources"

For some reason my Photoshop CS 8.0 that I have had for years started freezing up and I have uninstalled and reinstalled, looked on C drive for prefs (no file found), tried to delete any new fonts that were uploaded recently (unsure how to locate all of them) and still not able to open and view my files/designs that were save as PSD. I downloaded the CS6 for a free 30 day trial to see if it would opne, and yes it opened. My question is: if I purchase the CS6 will it freeze up as well? I was unsure if I purchased another version of Photoshop if it would be a waste of money and not open. I don't understand how one program would not open but the other one would? Any advice would be appreciated.

Ask in the PS forum. You're actually on the right track by suspecting font issues, I think. Could of course also be an issue with a PostScript printer driver and its font substitution or something with your language. In any case, just ask over there.
