Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please describe in detail (with punctuation, please) the exact steps you are attempting and the exact results you are getting from each step. Please include the source of these "media files". From what you posted, I can't tell if you are trying to get media files from an internet website, from your PC, or from some other source.
Thanks!

Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Also check on conflicting software...it has been reported that the software package NTI Shadow&Ninja can cause a conflict; removing them and reinstalling the BB desktop software allows it to install correctly.
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these. Also apologies if any are not presently available...RIM takes them up and down at will as they revise things.

  • BB 9800 TORCH Unable to Connect to JVM in Loader - Boot Looping

    Hello Everyone,

Can anyone help with my problem im having with my BB 9800 Torch? Pls
    1. Doesnt Turn On (I Get red light for approx 1 min with charged plugged in ONLY / then changes to charging sign on screen.
    2. If chargers unplugged nothing happens no lights nothing (tried all battery pull far from this now)
    3. Install all the software needed to do a full re-install BBSAK + JL_Cmder + Loader "to no avail"
    4. When using the above said software i get an error on the COMPUTER saying "Cannot connect to JVM" Click either retry or cancel. the phone then seems to be going into a LOOP again, the windows device notification sounds every so many seconds.
Phone also never changes from a black screen with battery sign with lighting strike through it!
Prior to the above the phone was fine, does anyone know what this could be as it seems that most other threads and posts about JVM Errors seem to have a specific code and this one doesn't. I have also come accross others with my issue and no-one seems to know.
    Kind Regards
    Craig

    Hello ukmgdrool,
Sounds like your BlackBerry® Torch™ 9800 smartphone is restarting and losing connection with the BlackBerry® Desktop Software during the BlackBerry® Device Software reload.
You may want to try reloading the BlackBerry Device Software without the battery inserted in your BlackBerry smartphone. After clicking "Install Update" or "Finish" and the reload starts, reinsert the battery only once it has reached the "Connecting to JVM" stage.
For more detail, please see: How to force the detection of the BlackBerry smartphone using Application Loader. www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB10144
Please note: This process will remove all data from your BlackBerry smartphone.
    Thanks.

  • Unable to synch BB 9800 Torch with Outlook Calendar

I used to be able to synch my BB 9800 Torch calendar with the calendar in Outlook.  This now seems to be not possible.  Is there a solution or just a failure on the part of BB to inform
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Sadly, from such a brief report, it's rather difficult to determine anything..."seems to be not possible" is rather a sparse amount of detail. What changed between the last time it worked and the first time it didn't? How exactly does the problem manifest? Are there any error messages? Details always enhance understanding, and understanding is a key prerequisite to providing useful guidance.
In any event, I may suggest this thread:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Cleanly-quot-Starting-Over-quot-with-...
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
    Good luck!

  • 9800 torch and vista syncing issues

    Hi all
I have read this forum forwards and backwards. I have a 9800 Torch purchased 2 weeks ago. My computer is Windows Vista 32bit Home Premium Edition. I installed the desktop manager 6.0 as soon as i purchased it. I began with out being able to ever sync my organizer to my phone. I have tried EVERYTHING i have read in the forum. I couldn't get Facebook to stop sdding to the calander, so I deleted the application. after deleting and restarting my torch, my torch is still reading the calander from FACEBOOK. I wiped all applications I installed. still no luch with sync. I apparently do not have the ability to turn off wireless sync, due to the fact I cannot locate that option anywhere in the settings for contacts, calander, or in the  main settings. I love this phone other than this one issue. I have tried to get my calander to load onto the phone via yahoo and gmail and google calander, no luck there either. I called AT&T and they can't help, say they don't have a tech support dept for this phone yet. Blackberry wants me to pay for support that I think should be available for the first 30 days and I think this is BS. If someone has any clue how to help me with this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance
    Stacy

Which email program on the computer are you trying to sync the calendar with?
You can disable wireless synchronization in your device calendar in Calendar->Menu->Options. Click on the calendar you have selected as default calendar (Options->Advanced Options->Default Services) and uncheck the wireless sync check box.  Then try setting up synchronization again.

  • Desktop Manager won't back up 9800 Torch

I can not get Desktop Manager to back up my 9800 Torch. ALthough it  "sees" the device ( in that it identifies it as 9800 and the PIN number), when I try to back up the phone the option is grayed out. When I try to connect it gives me a message like " Can not connect to device. If battery is dead or it is rebooting, try to connect later"

    Hey SRinger1,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Are you able to setup a synchronization in BlackBerry Desktop Software, or is that greyed out as well?
Also I would suggest to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02206
And then re-download BlackBerry Desktop Software at www.blackberry.com/desktop

  • Severely Underwhelmed 9800 Torch

I have now spent over 3 hours scouring the web.  All because of 9800 torch.  It will not connect to an iMac and it will not connect to windows 7 pro.  I even made it so my osX computer booted to 32 bit mode and know that it is in 32-bit mode only for this crappy substandard software to not work correctly.  He is a better question @blackberry really why do you make software that does not support a 32-bit computer in this day and age?  Really #FAIL.  I have tried different usb connectors works on my android phone works on iphone does not work for balckberry well I guess we all know by now why your market share is dwendling..  Thanks guys can I reverse bill you for my time lost on your device?

    Hey berryhaterforlife,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the post.
Are you using a BlackBerry USB data cable when connecting the BlackBerry Torch 9800 to the Mac or PC?  Also does it show it is charging when you plug the USB in?  Does the wall charger charge the BlackBerry Torch as well?
When was the last time it could connect to the computer as well?  What version of BlackBerry Desktop Software is installed as well?
I look forward to your reply.
    Cheers.

  • SatNav application for BlackBerry 9800 Torch

    Hi,
I hope you will be able to help me.
I have a BlackBerry 9800 Torch and I would like to install a SatNav.
I have seen many navigation applications via the BlackBerry App World website but none off them seem to be very good!
My network provider is Vodafone UK and when I had my Storm 9500 I had the Vodafone Find & Go application (Find & Go is a branded Telmap Navigator application) installed which was a fantastic SatNav. I then bought the Storm2 9520, however, the Find & Go application was not compatible with the Storm2 which was very disappointing.
I have now purchased the BlackBerry 9800 Torch and would like a SatNav application. I have spoken to Vodafone and they have informed me that the Find & Go application is not compatible with the 9800 and as far as they know there are no plans to make the Find & Go application available for the 9800. Vodafone suggested downloading the Telmap Navigator from Telmap which is what BlackBerry use.
I have been on the Telmap website but the Telmap navigator is not available for the BB 9800...which again is very disappointing.
I am a little disappointed and I would have thought that with a SatNav application as good as Telmap Navigator, that has been available to pretty much ever other BlackBerry device, would be available for the BB 9800 Torch as it is the BlackBerry benchmark device.
Could anyone please tell me if Telmap Navigator UK & Ireland is available and compatible for the BlackBerry 9800 Torch?
If not, is it likely to be available for the BlackBerry 9800 Torch and when?
Or, because the other SatNav applications on BB App World are not very good...can BlackBerry suggest a alternative SatNav that is as good as Telmap that is available for the BlackBerry 9800 Torch?
    Thank you
    Pete

    Hi Pete
I couldn't agree with you more.
No sat nav on the torch is a definite turn off.  I had a 9700 previously and had telenav running on it (£5.00 per month on your phone bill) but they tell me that they aren't building a version that will support the torch because their main contact in the UK is T-mobile and (they say) T-mobile aren't supporting the torch.  Telenav are the company that produce ATT navigator for the states which is basically just a branded version of Telenav.  AT&T navigator is available in the states...
I'm not too fussy, tomtom, copilot, navigon, garmin...someone take my money and supply me with a sat nav app please!
    Andrew

  • Blackberry 9800 Torch not starting up or entering Safe mode

    Hi all,
I am owner of a Blackberry 9800 Torch for about a year and now it does not startup. I turned the phone off last night and this morning it does not start up. I didn't make any changes to the phone so very strange.
The behaviour is that when I take the battery out and it turns on, the load screen start but the little white line only starts a little(2mm line) and then it restarts and does the same thing and loop over and over again in this till battery runs out.
I have tired to enter Safe mode by holding in the Escape bottom when the load screen starts or when the red light turn off but it does not enter Safe mode.
Please can anybody advise how I can fix this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Stefan

Are you able to restart your device in safe mode as shown in KB17877?
I assume, since it's caught in a reboot cycle, when you connect to the Desktop Software it doesn't take a stable connection to reinstall your software?
If that is case, remove your battery and keep it out when you connect to the Desktop Software. You will get a pop up that the device can't connect and there should be Retry, Update and Cancel buttons. Select Update and you will then be able to reinstall the current device software version.
When the load is progressing, you will see a step that says "Wait for device initialization". At this point, insert the battery and the reload should complete.

  • Apps issue after OS upgrade BB 9800 Torch

    Hi,
I upgraded today OS of my Blackberry Torch 9800 to v. 6.0 subv. 9249. Unfortunately right now two apps disappeared from MyWorld - Fuel Economy Calculator and Quick Slide. Both were purchased by me in 2011. Could you explain why were these apps removed from my account? Fuel Economy Calc is still available on your website but I'm really not willing to pay again for soft I have already purchased.
When it comes to Quick Slide, it is no linger available and it even stopped working on the device. Please advise.
    Regards,
    Greg

    Hello,
First off, please refer to this information posted at the top of every page of this site:
Next, please use a PC/Browser to view the AppWorld catalog page (while NOT logged into you BB ID on your PC) for each of your desired apps:
    Fuel Economy Calculator:
    http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/19314/
I don't receive any results when I search on "Quick Slide"...perhaps it has a different name? You may have better results searching.
Review carefully the requirements for Carrier, Country, Device Model, and (likely most important in your situation) OS level. It is also possible that, when the developer released the app, it was compatible with the OS levels available at that time (e.g., something that says "Operating System: 4.6.0 or higher", if it was released pre-OS6, then it may well not be compatible with OS6). You may need to contact the developer to find out specifics.
The items should still be visible in your account, but may show as uninstalled or unavailable if they are no longer compatible with the OS level that you upgraded to.
If you still feel you need formal help with your AppWorld account, then you need to obtain formal support from BlackBerry. Formal BlackBerry support for anything at all is obtained by first contacting your mobile service provider and convincing them to escalate your case up to BlackBerry...that is the only way to receive free formal support from BlackBerry for anything, including AppWorld issues.
    Good luck!

  • 9800 Torch - Rapid Battery Drain

I've searched a bunch of forums and found that this is an old problem, but this has just started happening on my device within the last 2-3 weeks.  I have a Torch 9800 with 6.0.0 Bundle 2647.  When i look for an upgrade, the desktop software tells me that i have the latest version (ie..no upgrade available).
My Blackberry 6.0.0 System Software is pulling 100% of the CPU time.  I have deleted a few of the apps that i thought might be the culprit, and the problem goes away for a day or two, then boom, BSS 6.0.0 is pulling 100% again, and my battery drains quickly, and the phone acts sluggish, to the point it is almost useless.  I am at wits end, and although this appears to have been resolved in an older version of the OS, my OS seems to be up to date.
    Any ideas out there?
    txs
    .g.

What OS are you on? On your device, type in a new message MYVER and a space after to see and report back please.
Try a Battery pull please, with the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery 15 seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot device. This will clear all cache like rebooting a PC. Then try again and see if your problem persists.

  • Solved: SYNC address book on mac with my blackberry 9800 Torch

ok the issue is that brand new out of the box the 9800 will (at least did not with me) not work with my mac at home for sync to address book.
Issue #1, the CD that comes witht he phone is the small one, so don't bother trying to use that cd in your mac, it will get stuck and you'll have to find a mechanical way to remove that cd out of your mac.
Solution to this issue is to download the BB Desktop Manager from the BB website.
ok so now you are running the BB desktop manager. looks simple and cool... Ical syncs up fine but the address book doesn't
A work around is to sync up with GMAIL and then add the GMAIL contacts to your BB phone. its a bandaid fix. not the solution.
Ok so on to solving this :
Step 1, if you are like me you enabled the WiFi on your BB phone. don't get me wrong WiFi works good, not great but good. Temporarily turn it off... yes RIM you have a bug with your WiFi tool on your BB phone that causes apps from your BB apps store to not download correctly. (COD Timeouts) ok so now that you turned off the WiFi, go to your browser on your BB phone and head on over to : www.blackberry.com/messenger
download that app update. with WiFi, it times out after a few minutes. when WiFi is turned off, it downloads rather fast.  Once it downloads your phone will reboot, wait a few seconds/minutes then connect your phone back to the BB Desktop Manager. In my case it SYNC'd up fine on my Calendar and Address Book.
Please post your BB model and issue you had/ if this solution helped you.  Thanks.

quick question before i give this a shot -
when you say that your address book is synced with your Torch, does that include more than 2 phone numbers per contact, all addresses and email addresses?
my boss can sync with address book, but only two phone numbers. some contacts have up to 7 numbers saved on her mac's address book.
    thanks!

  • Torch 9800 & Torch 9810

    good day
    i am BB torch 9800 user ... OS 6
there is no update for the 9800 to OS 7
and i see that 9810 use OS 7
am i able to put OS 7 of 9810 for torch 9800 ?
maybe my question will be idiotic for u but nothing wrong for asking ...
                      thanx 4 advanced

    Hello,
No...each OS package is specific to each model number. You cannot use a package for a 9810 on a 9800.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please see this helpful thread to start:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/General-BlackBerry-Functions-and/Unlocking-your-BlackBerry-Gu...
If you have used up all of your chances to enter the correct unlock code, there is nothing further you can do. Even if you happen to have now the correct code, it is useless. Only the factory can now (legally) unlock your BB. Typically, I've heard that the cost of having BlackBerry do this for you will be greater than the cost of just buying a new one. But, you are able to ask them...see here:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/programs/technical/incident.jsp
Note, however, that this process will start with a fee...
If you obtained your unlock code from somewhere but it was incorrect, your recourse could be with them -- however, they may well question why you exhausted all 10 attempts before contacting them.
If your BB was already MEP locked and you obtained it from a source that represented it as being able to be unlocked, then your recourse would be with the seller you obtained it from.
    Good luck!
