9i database standard edition can use Enterprise Managament Server?
Enterprise Management Server can send a alert e-mail then some tablespace have large than the setting size.
Questions like this should be addressed to your Oracle sales representative. No one here can give you a reliable answer,which passes into law. In general Management Packs require Enterprise Edition.

I couldn't login to the Enterprise Manager Server by EMC
Dear all:
couldn't login to the Enterprise Manager Server by Enterprise Manager Console.
EMC is in Start Menu->Programs->OWB_ORACLE_HOME->Warehouse Builder->Enterprise Manager Console.
After clicking EMC, then the screen is represent by Login window at my database when I selected my database.
But, when I put user name/password in this window, there is no response.
How can I login to EMC? When I checked manual, I found that I have to start Oracle Management Server but I don't know how I can start OMS. Also, how can I create OEM repository?
Please let me know what it is problem.

Enterprise Manager Server is a service, you can start it in the control panel/administrative tools/services.
To create a repository run the enterprise manager configuration assistant.
To login to EMC se the help for the default username/pwd.

Enterprise Manager Host Credentials Problem on Windows Vista
I have similar problem as discribed here before, but the difference is, that I am using Windows Vista and I have tried "Log as a batch job" and "Log as a service" privilleges. It does not help. I have Oracle Personal Edition 10.2.0.3 on Windows Vista. May there be some other security issues on Vista? The error message is not "Wrong password for user" but simply "Error" with no explanation. In addition to that, windows displayes error window which says "Oracle Enterprise Manager executable has stopped working" and there comes another window with detiled information like that:

Enterprise Manager 10g & trigger problem
Hi.
Trying to create a trigger using Enterprise manager 10g WEB Console and trigger creating "wizard" without success.
Example: I've added a simple trigger using SQL+ (this works ockey):
CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER "SRECKO".TESTNA_TRIG BEFORE
INSERT ON "SRECKO"."TESTNA" REFERENCING OLD AS OLD NEW AS NEW FOR EACH ROW begin

If I use Enterprise's Manager feature and I construct this trigger with (General/Event/Advanced) tabs it just doesn't work. I allways get the same SQL Error (missing IN or OUT parameters -> PreparedStatement bug ???).
Has anybody had any similar experiences ?

It looks to me that your stores are incorrectly configured, targetted or or just simply messed up. First thing I would do here is check the configuration and targetting of the JDBC Stores and make sure that each JMS server is using it own store and database tables. You may find that it's a really simple thing like creating two sets of tables on the same database, but making sure that they have different prefixes ... -
How to start Enterprise Manager Server on SUN Solaris 2.8

From the Unix prompt enter oemapp console(for v9.x). If you are using earlier versions it is oemapp console (for starting the console) and oemapp dbastudio(for starting dba studio)
For starting OMS enter: oemctrl start oms.

Weblogic 8.1 managed server shuttdown problem
Hi Friends,
When we log in to Admin console and selecting servers in the left pane and right clicking a server instance and selecting start/stop server, it shows
start this server
resume this server
graceful shutdown of this server
force shutdown of this server
The problem is graceful shutdown of this server and force shutdown of this server links are not highliting for a perticular managed server and they are highlighting all remaining servers.
that means we are unable to shutdown the server from console. we are doing from command line.
can please respond where the problem is?

I have been watching responses on this issue (that I have encountered too). I use IE6.0 and this does not happen always. I have seen it happen twice where the Graceful Shutdown and Forced Shutdown links are not highlighted for one managed server whereas for others it is highlighted. The only option then to shutdown/restart this is via the CLI. Please note that other times, these links are high-lighted for the same managed server that did not have these options high-lighted.
So I would like to know when and why this would happen?

Terminal Server Licensing Problems with GPO Security Group License Server
Hello,
I have two fresh installs of W2K12R2.
One is RD Session Host and the other one is the License Server. Everything is fine until I active the GPO Security Group License Server. After that the License Server gives no licenses
to die clients (we have User und Device CALs). TS Licensing Diagnostic’s shows no errors, the number of available licenses is displayed correctly, even the state of GPO Security Group License Server is correctly shown as "active" and die
Membership in the Group "RDS-Endpointserver" is "Yes". Eventlog shows no Errors. Log in on the session host is even possible, maybe because the RDS-Service is in evaluation time.
If the GPO Security Group License Server is disabled again, the server starts to serve licenses as expected.
I don’t know what I can do anymore, never had problems with exact the same setup under W2K8, but with W2K12 is the second time I notice this issue.

Sorry to inform but there is no official document for server 2012 related to this event, you can go through below article for reference.
You cannot use a security group to add computer accounts to the Terminal Server Computers group. You must add each computer account explicitly. To verify whether an RD Session Host server is allowed to request RDS CALs from the Remote Desktop license server,
you can use the IsSecureAccessAllowed method of Win32_TSLicenseServer class. For more details about this method, click here.
1. License Diagnosis tool returns error "License server <computer name> cannot issue RDS CALs to the Remote Desktop Session Host Server because the 'License server security group' Group
Policy setting is enabled."
2.Control the Issuance of RDS CALs
Note: You should only enable this policy setting when the license server is a member of a domain. You can only add computer accounts for RD Session Host servers to the RDS Endpoint Servers group when the license server is a member of a domain.

SOA managed server startup problem
Hi All,
I am facing an issue while starting the SOA Managed Server (soa_server1) using NodeManager.
Backgound:
I have setup a soa domain, started up NM and admin server using NM in solaris environemnt. All runs fine but when I start MS using NM for the first time it throws error. If I start the MS from the admin console it starts fine. The execution steps I have performed-
1. Started NodeManager - using script
2. Shutdown the NodeManager , changed the nodemanager.properties file to update parameter [startScriptEnabled=true] and start it again.
3. Started AS using NM [nmConnect(..) and nmStart('AdminServer')]
4. Enrolled the NM with the current machine [connect(..), nmEnroll(domain_dir, nodemanager_home)]
5. Copied the boot.properties to security/ dir of soa_server1
6. Started MS using NM - Throws error
Does it really mean I have to start the MS through admin console everytime I start MS first time in the machine? (I am working on automation on SOA env where everynight env wipes off and installs the SOA stack from scratch)

I have implemented the above mentioned suggestions. But seems to have no luck. I had
1. Copied startup.properties to ${DOMAIN_HOME}/servers/soa_server1/data/nodemanager
2. Copied the boot.properties to ${DOMAIN_HOME}/servers/soa_server1/security
These did not added any value, so I though of passing the parameters at nmStart() as WLST object;
arg="Arguments=\" -Dweblogic.management.server=localhost:8001\"" (My AS and MS runs on same machine)
prps=makePropertiesObject(arg)
nmStart('soa_server1',props=prps)
This started throwing Boot Identity file not valid.
I changed my way.
1. Connected to Admin Server using WLST
connect (username, password)
2. Start MS
start('soa_server1')
Its working fine now and under NM control. Not sure what more NM demands when starting without AS.

Managed server discovery problem
I'm running WL 6.0 sp1 on Solaris 2.7.
I have my admin server discover=true. I start this up, with all my other servers in the domain
down, and get a bunch of can't-find-server warnings, which is fine. But then I get a null ptr
exception and the server shuts down!
If I manually cleaned up running-managed-servers.xml, then my admin server runs again, but obviously
I do not want to manually maintain this file!

After adding "<native-io-enabled>false</native-io-enabled>" in cofig.xml as shown below , i am able to start the admin server.

my managed server heap size properties are
-XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -Xms256M -Xmx512M
But the error with Admin server also and we are not providing any heap size properties to admin server. Becuase while creating the domain, i haven't got any
option to set the heap size for Admin server. Am i required to set heap size properties in Admin server by following this path "Summary of Servers >AdminServer->Server start->"Arguements"?
Sorry, i am not able to find activity.log. Can you please tell me the location where i can find acivity.log. If i am not wrong, are you taling about serverOut.log? If that is serverOut.log, please tell me which log you require? is it admin server or managed server? -
Could Not start Enterprise Management Server Service

I have installed Oracle 8i Personal Edition 8.1.6.00 on a Win2000
machine at home.
I can connect to the database that i have created (oracleDB)
When i try and run Enterprise Manager and connect to the
database, i get

"ORA- 12541: TNS: no listener"
Im guessing this is because i do not have the
'OracleOraHome81ManagementServer' service running (???)
When i try and start it from the Services MMC, i recieve the
error
"Could not start the OracleOraHome81ManagementServer servic on
Local
Computer
Error 997: Overlapped I/O operation in progress"
Can anyone help me out with this?
All other Oracle related services run fine.
I have admin privelages for the PC.
Have PATH for oracle set up correctly i think.

Cisco Security Manager (CSM) License Problem
Hi All,
We have CSM V3.2 with Professional license edition and support 50 devices. It's installed properly in the Cisco Security Manager client as appeared in the attachement but the problem is in the server administration- license management which doesn't include any records for license (see attachment).
I tried to upload the .lic file by clicking the Update button in server administration but an error message appeared stated that the license file is corrupted although it's installed properly in CSM client!!!
Could you please advise what's the problem and what should I do?

DI Server license problem after upgrading to SP01 PL4

After I've upgraded to SP01 PL4 my Web Services that use the DI Server API do not work anymore. The SBO Client is working correctly and the DI Server and License Manager are running, too.
When I try to login with License Server DEVELOPERCOMP (my computer), I'm getting the Message 'Connection with License Server failed'.
Then I've read that you have to add the port number of the license server. So, I entered DEVELOPERCOMP:30000, but I'm getting the error 'License does not exist'. I'm using the manager account and it has the licenses Professional User, SAP AddOns and SDK Tools.
I've also turned the firewall off, but it this doesn't work.

If I enter no vendor name, so that I get the keys for all orders, it works. But If I enter a vendor name, I'm getting an empty response.
The funny thing is that all other requests I'm doing are working. I can get a list of all vendors, I can search for an item by its item code, I can add an unscheduled receipt and so on. Before I upgraded to SP01 it has worked fine for several weeks.
Does someone has a clue?
