9i install on XP pro hangs at 48% mark

Oracle 9i personal edition installation on win xp pro hangs while extracting 'webserverhelpid.class' during installation of 'enterprise manager web site 9.2.0.1.0'.
Attempts to reinstall fail with an error msg that Oracle MTS Recorvery Svc needs to be shutdowm.
How do I shut down the Recovery Svc?
How do prevent the hang during the webserverhelpid.class extraction?
Thanks in advance for any HELP.

  • K8N Neo2-F hangs when installing Windows XP Pro

Hello, I've recently been trying to put together my first build, and I haven't had too much luck thus far.
My problem occurs when trying to clean install Windows XP Pro on my hard drives. Using either of my HDDs results in the Windows setup screen coming up, loading all the drivers, and then crapping out right before it lets me add/delete partitions. It hangs right before there, and provides me with a STOP 0x000007 BSOD error. I've tried with both my SATA and my IDE drives, and nothing seems to work. The IDE drive works fine on my old motherboard (Non SATA compatible, so I can't even test the SATA drive on it), and lets me partition the drive, so it's not the HD, and it's not the CD. The processor, mobo, SATA HD and the RAM are all new.
I've followed the guide that fafner and syar2003 have provided here, and have come up with nothing. (I only tried the first method, not the second one further down the thread).
Is there a BIOS setting that I'm missing, or what?
    Thanks in advance.

Amps on the power supply are:
    +3.3: 32A
    +5: 40A
    +12: 24A
I've tried installing windows with just the SATA drive, just the IDE, and both. I've now tried installing Windows using syar2003's advice in aforementioned thread, saw this link and tried setting the max memclock to 166Mhz, with 1 stick, or 2. Had the timings set to auto though. No dice.
No matter what, after it says "Setup is now starting Windows", it hangs, and after about 5 minutes, this BSOD comes up.

As a debugging step, try printing to the Adobe PDF printer. If that fails, repeat with print-to-file selected. Assuming the print succeeds, open the file in Distiller to complete the creation of the PDF. If you get the PDF, then check to see if AcroTray is properly working as a background task.

  • Installing Safari on windows XP Pro Hangs at trying to Registering  Modules

Tried both versions of Safari 303 Beta.
The install with Safari with iTunes
and install with just Satari hangs with the

After killing the install process misexec.exe is left running.
The brower never gets installed according to "Add/Remove Software"

  • Can't install Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows XP Home Ed V2002 SP3

Newbie hozer can't install Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows XP Home Ed V2002 SP4.  At end of install via CD it hangs restarting Print Spooler (spooler) and Windows Image Acquisition (stisvc) services, err 1920, and all I can do is click Cancel and it uninstalls the whole dad gum thing.  I tried kb.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403613.html.  Not fixing it.
If I could change the permissions on those services maybe that would help but I can't do it, I don't have a login with enough permissions, I guess...
So after the third time I just hard-crashed the hard drive when it got to the last ("can't start Windows Image Acquisition", cancel/retry) window and I did end up with the files on the HDD but... they won't install or delete now.  I'm infested.  Try to install in Normal or Vega mode, it now pops up a filled in userid/serial number box, and when you click ok or retype it, it says the s/n is invalid.  I keep having to reboot to get Windows Installer to let me start it (another permissions problem).  So I'm stuck. UpToDateTrendMicro doesn't find any evil doers...  the kb403613 sent me to this forum,
    with hopes,
M3/   [that's MEL, or as close as the ScreenNameBouncer would let me get]

Not sure it will help, but try it when logged in as the administrator and with anti-virus turned off. As far as error numbers, must of us have no clue (there seems to be a list at Adobe, but we don't work there.

As old as your iMac is, have you cleaned out the dust? Dust buildup can lead to over heating issues. Remove any and all things plugged into it including the power cord, Remove the RAM access grille. Vacuum all openings starting with the RAM access area (air intake). Vacuum all ports and plugs, DVD slot and the opening across the top of the rear of the body. Blow compressed air through all your openings and vacuum again to remove any dust you loosend. Reinstall the RAM grille. Plug in the keyboard and mouse if not blue tooth. Insert power cord...
You are now in a perfect position to do a
    SMC RESET
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
    Wait 15 seconds.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
It is the 5 second timing that initiates the reset.

  • Install (Adobe 8 Pro) stalls at "ukr.ytr"

I'm trying to install Acrobat 8 Pro on a laptop that was just upgraded to Win 7 x64.  The install begins, but the then hangs when the ukr.ytr file is partially through being copied from the CD-ROM.  Is there an issue I'm unaware of?  The disk looks OK,and worked fine when I installed Acrobat on the same machine while Vista was installed as the OS,  Any suggestions would be appreciated, as would a link to a download.
    Thanks in advance.

It may not load. If you are successful, you will at least have to be sure you install updates afterwards. Only AA9 is certified for Win7 X64 (or even Win7). Some folks have gotten AA8 to work on Win7, but I don't remember about X64. With prior versions of X64, something like at least AA8.1 was needed.

  • Unable to install Win 8 Pro on GPT 3TB disk

I am unable, with all the willpower in the world, to install Windows 8 Pro on a 3TB harddisk.
I have tried about everything, I'm an IT professional and I just can't get it to work. The pinned topic from xmad does not work for me at all.
I'm using a Z77A-G45 motherboard with the latest official UEFI BIOS (2.9). I boot from the UEFI DVD Drive with an official Windows 8 DVD, check my disk is in GPT mode (it is) and continue the installer.
When I arrive at the disk partitioning screen, I select create new partition and Windows creates a 100 mbyte partition, a 2 TB partition and leaves about 750GB as unusable.
I check the disk and windows has moved it back to a normal non GPT disk.
I tried manually creating the partition with diskpart: an EFI partition with 30 megabyte for the bootloader, and MSR partition of 300 megabyte and a primary partition of 2.7 TB. After refreshing the partitioning screen I see the correct partitions and Windows simply says "can not install on a disk that is in EFI mode".
I've searched and read and tried every thing but I just can not get this to work. I'm getting pretty desperate here and would like any and all input you can give me.

Enable win 8 mode in Bios, but disable msi fast boot and fast boot for now.
It is easier if you install from a usb, re-format and clean the drive using diskpart and follow the guide then.
If any trouble, update to the latest bios here:

  • Can't install Windows 7 Pro x64 - device driver missing - can't eject DVD

    Hello,
I am trying to install Windows 7 Pro x64 - I create the partition in boot camp and start windows install process. **During the Windows install process**, it says "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note: if the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step".
Apparently the drivers are on the OSX install DVD. But, there is no way to eject the windows DVD! Why on earth is there no manual eject on Macs? Is there another way to eject? I tried to put a paperclick in the slot next to where a CD is inserted but it didn't do anything. Is there another way to get Windows to see the correct device drivers?
I am all for clean slick designs, but when it does not have all required functionality, it is kind of useless.
I am talking to Mac Support and they can't help.
Looks like I will have to return this Mac, I also need to boot into full Windows (without Parallels or VMWare) to do my work.

You don't mention what Mac you have, so I'd have to say there is almost no way to help.
IF the 7 Pro x64 came download ISO thru EDU, you have to burn it, and if you use Disk Utility, at 2X reduced burn speed... otherwise it won't work.
A VM isn't fussy and can use ISOs.
If you want both native and VM, to have Windows installed on its own hard drive and use it under OS X, then you have to install it and use Boot Camp Assistant.
I'd say it is all about your DVD media.

If you are using a Mac, simply hit Command-Spacebar to bring up Spotlight Search.  Begin typing the name of the application and when you see what you are looking for, press enter.  You should get a hit by the second or third letter you type.  Great way to launch apps on computers that you are not familiar with.
Windows 7 and 8 should have something similar.  I think you simply press the Windows key and begin typing.  Press enter when you see a match.
Both Mac and Windows search tools can be customized to search for applications, files, emails and so forth.  For Windows, look for Taskbar and Start Menu Properties.  For Mac, go to Preferences Spotlight.  Turn off items you know you won't need to speed up searches.

  • Installing Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 on a new laptop, but it doesn't accept my serial number

    Hello,
On my old laptop I had installed and licensed Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. I retired my old laptop and bought a new one. I want to install Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 now on the new one. But seemingly my serial number is not accepted any more. That's what I did so far
    1. Downloaded Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 from http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-8-9-product-downloads.html
    2. Retrieved my serial number from Adobe ID (it matched what I have found out locally on my old computer)
    2. Started the installation
    3. Entered my serial number when asked for. Then I get a message "Invalid Serial Number"
    Who can help please?
    Best regards,
    Dr. Rolf Schlagenhaft (Freescale Semiconductor)

Moving this discussion to the Acrobat installation & Update Issues forum.
RolfSchlagenhaft there are no registered Adobe software titles under the account you are posting to the Adobe forums with.  You will want to attempt to locate the account which has your registered serial number.  You can find more details at Find your serial number quickly - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html.  If you need assistance locating the account which contains your serial number then please contact our support team at Contact Customer Care.
Finally if you have a volume license for Acrobat 9 Professional then the installation files are only available at https://licensing.adobe.com/.  The installation files you downloaded are for the retail version of Acrobat 9 Professional.  This may be another cause of you receiving the message that your serial number is invalid.

  • Install Windows 7 Pro 64bit on MacBook Pro 15" Mid 2014

Trying to install Window 7 Pro on my new MacBook Pro 15" Mid 2014. I went through the following:
Attempt 1: Downloading the latest bootcamp support drivers, copied on flash drive and used BCA for partitioning. Booting from Ext. DVD with USB pin drive containing the drivers inserted
Attempt 2: Using ISO to create a bootable USB pin drive with bootcamp support drivers on the same..
Both attempts ended being unable to pass Windows 7 language selection screen. Mouse/Trackpad/Keyboard are not working.
Windows 8.1 pro works fine, but I'm not very happy with it..
    Any advice?

The primary challenge is due to absence of proper drivers on the W7 installer to support the USB ports. One thing to check is if the USB is a USB2 or USB3. USB3 pen drives will not work.
You should also try Attempt 2 using all available USB ports available, one at a time. Disconnect any other peripherals other than KM and USB before you start installation. BT devices are not very stable when used.
If you can see any files in the Bootcamp volume from the OSX side, look for installer logs for details.
    find . -name setupact.log -print
    ./Windows/Logs/DPX/setupact.log
    ./Windows/Panther/setupact.log
    ./Windows/Panther/UnattendGC/setupact.log
    ./Windows/setupact.log

  • Is there a way to do an install of Adobe Pro XI without entering key until after the install?

Is it possible to set up an install of Adobe Pro XI that doesnt require the licence key to be entered at the time of the install, but instead upon the first time the application is run? We have various users with different license keys but want to automate one installation and just have them enter the key after the install has complete, when they go to use the software the first time. We are looking to set this up in SCCM 2012 R2. Thanks in advance for any insight!
