Cannot login to the Management Server from OEM. I can login in Standlone mode. Everything is running on one NT machine.
I noticed that the Service was not started and I was unable to start it from XP Services. It seems to start and then stop immediately with the following message to the oms log.

Hi, All
I try to installed Oracle 10g Personal Version on my Windows XP (3.0 GHz, 512 MBytes RAM, 4 GBytes HDD). I got the error:

  • Running Weblogic managed server as Windows service

    Hi,
    i'm using Weblogic 6.0 SP2 and i'm trying to run Managed Server as windows
    service (i'm using Win2k). I use a pretty long CLASSPATH in order to run my
    WebApplication and it looks like beasvc.exe truncates my CLASSPATH - that
    way my application wouldn't work.
    Is there any workaround to my problem ?
    Thanks alot for any help,
    Bybye.

    Windows has a command line limitation of 2K.
    Since you invoke beasvc.exe from command line, it will obviously get's
    truncated
    1)
    One work around will be to set the registry manually after invoking
    the beasvc.exe
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\
    <service-name>\Parameters
    Alter cmdLine parameter to include everything. After this if you start
    the service, it should work.
    2)
    Put all the classpath in a file called C:/temp/foo.tmp (since classpath is
    long)
    Invoke beasvc.exe with cmdLine set as
    -cmdLine:... -classpath "@C:/temp/foo.tmp ...
    Since jvm pulls the classpath from the file, this should also solve your
    problem.
    Sun VM's support this feature as of 1.2 and above.

  • 10.3 registering Admin and Managed server as windows service.

    I have not found anything in the new documentation on how to do this which left me wondering if there is a reason it was omitted? I found procedures from the 8.1 docs but would rather have something more up to date. I'm installing on win 2003 server. Thank you.
    Edit: I found the installSvc.cmd script in the %wlshome%\server\bin directory and tried it. According to instructions you set SERVER_NAME and then call the script. It seems to install the services ok but when I start them they stop immediately with no specific errors in event viewer.

    Dear,
    I assume you now have at least 3 windows services:
    -node manager service
    -adminserver service
    -1 or more service for your managed servers (which start after adminserver service)
    All of them start on system startup.
    My question: If let's say one managed server crashes, is it then automatically restarted by the nodemanager? Since the managed server is not started by node manager itself, I guess the answer is no. If so, what is the usage of having nodemanager running as a service?
    Thanks.

  • Manage server from Windows

    Is there a way to manage server in the same way the Server.app does from Windows 8?  Preferably in a portable option, but will take an installable option.

    Hi
    AFAIK you can't legally use the Server.app from Windows8 so I'm not sure what you mean exactly? What you can do is remote via VNC to the mac server and launch the application from there. It can be slightly flakey sometimes but TightVNC, UltraVNC and RealVNC can all be used fairly reliably.
    If you're comfortable with the command line you could install putty or similar instead. You could then 'manage' the server via SSH rather than VNC. Much of Server.app's GUI has a command line equivalent with serveradmin being the main one. You should also be aware that some features are only going to be available via the command line anyway.
    HTH?

    Why is it looking for demotrust.jks file to start the Managed Server. We don't use the demo trust and cannot copy to the location it is referring to. I followed the solution provided at the below link:
    http://serverfault.com/questions/106499/custom-trust-and-custom-identity-keystore-in-weblogic-10-3
    There are 2 options given in the link. To update the boot.properties of the Admin Server and appending JAVA_OPTIONS to DomainEnv file. Both of these caused the failure of Admin Server. I couldn't bring up the server after these changes.I also came across posts talking about boot.properties for Managed Server. I don't see the security folder that has boot.properties for my Managed Server (verified it on both windows and linux boxes).
    Thanks in advance.

  • Admin Server console not showing Managed Server is running

    I am using WLS 7.0.1.0 SP1 runing on Windows 2000. I have setup a node manager, Admin server and Managed Server as Windows Services. Admin Server has -delaySeconds as 2min. Manager Server(MS) has been made to depend on Admin Server start. When I boot my machine, all the three services come up properly. I can access my application which is running on MS properly. But for some reason the Admin Console doesn't show the MS as running. If I use the Admin Console now to start up MS all it does it "Reconnects to the admin server" since the MS is in started state. What is the reason for this

    It could be the ordering dependency and the rediscovery of the MS by the AS.
    An AS has a notion of where MS's live on disk and it could be an issue with
    AS bouncing in between MS's constant state of upness.
    Cheers

  • Troubling Managed server (unable to start)

    Hi
    I use WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.5.0,
    I want to setup both my ADMINISTRATION SERVER and MANAGED SERVER as windows service so as to start automatically when the system is switched on.... After configuring the scripts and installing them, only the Admin server works and functions well... but the Managed server doesnt work or startup. I have tried all solutions i could find in the OTN FORUM but the problem still persists.....Below are the contents of the script for the two servers. Please any one with any suggestion should help me out.
    ADMIN SERVER
    SETLOCAL
    set DOMAIN_NAME=OBYYSDOMAIN
    set USERDOMAIN_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\OBYYSDOMAIN
    set SERVER_NAME=OBYYSADMIN
    set WL_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3
    set PRODUCTION_MODE=true
    set –Dweblogic.client.socket.ConnectTimeout=500
    set MEM_ARGS=-Xms512m –Xmx512m
    call "C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\bin\installSvc1.cmd"
    ENDLOCAL
    MANAGED SERVER
    echo off
    SETLOCAL
    set DOMAIN_NAME=OBYYSDOMAIN
    set USERDOMAIN_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\OBYYSDOMAIN
    set SERVER_NAME=OBYYSMAN
    set PRODUCTION_MODE=true
    set –Dweblogic.client.socket.ConnectTimeout=500
    set WL_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3
    set ADMIN_URL=http://OBI-PC:7001
    set MEM_ARGS=-Xms40m -Xmx250m
    call "C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\bin\installSvc2.cmd"
    ENDLOCAL
    I created two backup copies of the WL_HOME\server\bin\installSvc.cmd master script, of which installSvc1.cmd (for Admin server) i included -delay:120000,
    while installSvc2.cmd (for Managed server) i included -depend:"beasvc OBYYS_DOMAIN_OBYYSADMIN" -delay:120000

    Hi,
    I have done evrything the webpage u directed me says perfectly alright.. i can now access the console automatically after system booting (The Admin server is started as windows service)… but in the console the Node Manager/Machine configured for it remains inactive… I don’t really knw the reason for this…. I viewed the log from Node Manager directory and this is what I get

    21400. I googled and in the Administration tab for Notification Pool and AD Assignment Pool change the member ship form Automatic to Manual and remove SCOM2 from those, finally Error 21400 is resolved. But every hours in the active alerts shows
    Resource Pool Heartbeat Failure from All Management Server Resource Pool Watcher.
    Another problem is :
    in the active alerts select a critical or warning or information in the Alert Details shows in just SCOM2:
    This Page can’t be displayed
    Make sure the web address is correct.
    Look for the page with your search engine.
    Refresh the page in a few minutes.
    thanks

    Hi,
    Based on my research, when management
    server running windows server 2008 operating system, we may experience Random
    Resource Pool
    Heartbeat Failures.
    Did you add a new management server with windows
    server 2012 O.S?
    Please also try to restart operation manager services related and check the result.
    Regards,
    Yan Li

    Lets us try to start your environment by using a WLST script.
    Before you try starting the servers by using the script, could you first check your weblogic console,
    to see if the server soa_server1 is running or not (click on environment, servers) maybe the enterprise manager is out of sync.
    The following steps are necessary the run the script:
    First edit the nodemanager.properties (which is located in the directory <middleware-home>/wlserver_10.3/common/nodemanager).
    Find the entry StartScriptEnabled and set this property to true.
    Open a command shell and navigate to the directory <middleware-home>/wlserver_10.3/server/bin and run the file setWLSEnv.cmd
    (this sets your environment variables, so that we can run a WLST script).
    Copy the following script into a file named for example StartScript.py and adjust variables as needed
    beahome = '<middleware-home>';
    linux = false;
    adminusername = 'weblogic';
    adminpassword = 'transfer-solutions';
    domainname = 'base_domain';
    pathseparator = '/';
    if not linux:
         print 'SETTING WINDOWS PATH SEPARATOR';
         pathseparator = '\\';
    domainlocation = beahome + pathseparator + 'user_projects' + pathseparator + 'domains' + pathseparator + domainname;
    nodemanagerhomelocation = beahome + pathseparator + 'wlserver_10.3' + pathseparator + 'common' + pathseparator + 'nodemanager';
    print 'START NODE MANAGER';
    startNodeManager(verbose='true', NodeManagerHome=nodemanagerhomelocation, ListenPort='5556', ListenAddress='localhost');
    print 'CONNECT TO NODE MANAGER';
    nmConnect(adminusername, adminpassword, 'localhost', '5556', domainname, domainlocation, 'ssl');
    print 'START ADMIN SERVER';
    nmStart('AdminServer');
    nmServerStatus('AdminServer');
    print 'CONNECT TO ADMIN SERVER';
    connect(adminusername, adminpassword);
    print 'START SOA SERVER';
    start('soa_server1','Server');
    nmServerStatus('soa_server1');Run this script as follows, but first stop the servers already running
    java weblogic.WLST <directory>/StartScript.py
