9i won't install oo4o components

I'm trying to install 9i on a Win98 machine and it won't install the oo4o dll's. There's no oo4e folder in the oracle directory tree. I've installed three times now.
I need them for a VB database application. I keep getting Runtime Error 429 ActiveX component can't create object.
Can anyone explain what might be wrong?
Thaknks

I have 9i on multiple Win98 machines here. But on this one, it just won't install some of the client files. ODBC, oo4e, and ole are missing.
Is there something in the pc's configuration that could prevent these files from being loaded?

I have an ASUS laptop and about 3 months ago it got some updates that it won't install. It downloads and says it installs them, and when I go to restart the computer it gets halfway done and says "failure to configure updates, reverting changes."
I have literally tried everything. My computer has found corrupted files and it cannot fix them. Maybe I should start there? Not sure what to do though! HELP!

  • ITunes won't install on my computer, Windows 7 64 bit.

The computer is current on Windows update. I originally had iTunes installed and it worked fine, but would absolutely NOT update-- it would download the first 25.50 MB, then never finish downloading the rest of it, time out, and give me an error message. I just got an iPhone 5, so I can't connect my iPhone to my computer anyway, because it requires iTunes 10.7 to work.
After restarting and trying a variety of fixes to see if I could get it to work, I decided to uninstall iTunes AND ALL OTHER APPLE PRODUCTS, just to be safe, ran a complete hard drive check on both my main and secondary hard drives to make sure there were no errors, and try installing it again from scratch.
But now, the installer will download, but it won't install anything. If I double-click, or right click and hit Run as Administrator, it pulls up a dialog box briefly, then closes out. It will not run. It does not give an error, it just pops up a dialog box then closes without telling me anything. At all. I've deleted it, redownloaded it, restarted, verified that my computer is up to date at least 5 times, and it never, ever, works.
I just ran across another suggested fix that suggested I extract the files and try installing the individual components separately. When I tried doing that, I got this error message:
!   C:\Users\Chloe\Downloads\iTunes64Setup.exe: The archive is corrupt
So. What the **** is going on? I am downloading directly from Apple. If I could download the entire ~300+ MB file directly to see if it would work, I would, but I can't find it anywhere. I am really frustrated with how much time this has taken. Otherwise, my computer runs fine.
I've downloaded iTunes on Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, I also tried deleting all cookies and temporary internet files in between installations. I've tried a lot of stuff. This is driving me absolutely bonkers.
Thanks for any help you've got.
I'd be happy to share any other computer information that might be pertinent, just ask.

    Hi sahgin,
The issue eventually resolved itself, I still don't really know why. I kept up with Windows update, and attempted downloading iTunes again from the Apple website, and it just... worked. It now works fine. I don't know why it took approximately 4 months to work, though.
I'm sorry I don't have any more helpful information. Posting here was my last resort, and clearly Apple never bothered to reply.

  • Need configure wifi, but adobe air cd won't install, why?

Am trying to configure wifi after installing new motorola wireless modem sbg901 and am trying to run the cd wifi instrux.
It asks to install Adobe Air, but it won't install. Why can't I install Adobe Air?

Thanks for that link.  Got it downloaded.
It appears that something is wrong with my laptop... because the downloaded file stalls at the same point as the disc.  While it still says "Installing Shared components".  This is when the green progress bars stop(about 10% of the way) and the HDD activiity light on the laptop stops as well.
Back when I reinstalled windows, I had some issues updating.  Once I got to a certain point, one of the updates would render my laptop screen completely blank.... so after reinstalling a few times, I stopped installing updates at a certain point... though I did make it to Service Pack 2.
That's the only reason I can think of, as to why the program won't install. It's really odd.
BTW:  I did shut down the antivirus while attemptinng Premiere install.

  • CS3 InDesign won't install, Mac  OS 10.5

I've just received CS3 Design premium, and InDesign won't install. There is no reason given, just that it won't install. Shared components and Version Cue Server won't install either. I just upgraded to Leopard on a g5 Intel system. Any ideas on what to do next?
    Thanks,

    CS3 InDesign won't install, Mac OS 10.5
    Hi Darlene,
I think I just got lucky - it hesitated a few times then finally clicked.
One of the previous posters suggested to not install Version Cue, so I
clicked that one off. Did you repair the permissions and restart before
installing? Spin around 3 times clicking your heels saying, there's no
    program like InDesign?
If you can stay in InD 2 I would suggest that, expecially if you use a lot
of clipping paths. InD3 has a bug there that won't see interior paths, so
you have to go back into Photoshop to rework the image. If I had only know
    that before.....
    Good luck!

  • INDesign CS3 won't install

I've been searching threads for days now and nothing i try works
I am trying to install CS3 on a G5 Mac, OSX 10.4.11. I have CS on this computer, tried the CS4 trial, decided to stay with CS3 which I am had on a deceased computer that din't have any Adobe on it except things like reader, and whatever comes with the Mac OS. When I try to load, I get everything but INDesign won't install. Tried multiple time, tried it on another computer (a G4) with similar history and the same result. I've done an uninstall on INDD4, I've cleaned preference files, tossed Colorsync profiles. At first, when I tried to install i would get an message asking for theINDD4 disk. I got rid of that when I dumped the color sync files. and now it installs everything except INDD. I'm afraid to try the clean script.
    What do you suggest?

    Hi Mylenium
After updating the adobe license didn´t work any longer for the
second time, since I bought. First time CS3 cleaning tool was the
solution. But this time it is not possible just to open the
CS3cleaning tool document(PDF)- not with adobe reader, also not with
foxit for example. I removed all adobe stuff to install again, but
installation doesn´t work for  the important components- photoshop
etc. At first also adobe reader didn´t work (System told me, to
install photoshop before:-) But after some deinstallation and
reinstallation now just the new downloaded adobe reader X happily
works again. Only solution to reinstall the whole system?? (medion

  • Premiere CS3 Won't Install

I'm finishing the build from Hades. I followed the Matrox system recommendations, apparently they had an easier time than I did. I finally resolved my issues with my video card, now Premiere and Encore won't install!
System Info: Tyan Tempest 5400 (socket 771) motherboard, two Xeon Quad core E5450 CPUs, one ATI Radeon Sapphire HD 3870 1 gig on-board ram, two 2 gig FB DIMM 667 RAM sticks. Software version Premiere Pro CS3.
I'm fairly certain I've met the minimum system requirements - I followed one of Matrox's highest system builds (at the time). The version of XP I bought already had Service Pack 2. As far as I can tell, I've loaded all my drivers. I have two separate 1 TB drives (7200 RPM). My DirectX version is 9.
The install process for both Premeire and Encore appear to proceed normally. The summary screen simply notes:
    "Successfully installed 2 component(s):
Adobe Preiere Pro CS3 Third Party Content
    Shared components
    Errors: 2 component(s):
    Adobe Premiere Pro CS3
    Component install failed
    Shared components
    Component install failed"
I bought my RTX2 last summer, but building my house, technical diffulties with my system and my mother's death delayed getting this unit assembled.
I tried uninstalling using add/remove programs, with the same results.  I also tried using two different DVD drives.
I started a post on the Matrox forum site.  It looks like I have them stumped...
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

OK, you've got a "clean system," and I assume that you have not had a "trial" version of CS3 installed on it, right?
I'm going to throw out some ideas on Adobe program installation. These are distilled from various Adobe fora. Some might NOT apply to PrPro, but many might.
1.) download and install the lastet Adobe Flash Player (some Adobe programs need it to install properly)
2.) download and install the latest Apple QT Player (some PC users get by just fine without it, but a few Adobe programs want to see it.
3.) download and install the latest video and audio drivers. Update any firmware.
4.) turn OFF ALL anti-virus, spyware and pop-up blockers (including any in IE, if you have it, or any other browser). Also turn off
         Windows Messenger and Windows Indexing.
5.) make sure that you are logged-in as an Administrator
6.) as you got an installation error, I would Remove both Adobe programs (Add/Remove Programs) and also run Adobe's CleanScript. I think that
this might be better than doing a Repair Install, though you can certainly try it first.
7.) if it still fails, try an installation from a Safe Mode boot. I *think* that this will only work for PS and Illustrator, and NOT for PrPro.
8.) if it still fails, and I hate to even suggest this - remove the Matrox card and all drivers, and try again. Given your efforts to get the box up and
running WITH the Matrox, I'd use this as a total "last resort."
Good luck, and I hope that something, prior to #8 works for you,
    Hunt

  • QuickTime Won't Install, Can't Find Newer Version OSX 10.4.11

When QuickTime 7.6 released, the update caused problems on my Mac PPC G5 (OSX Tiger 10.4.11). I deleted it. I attempted to reinstall an older version of QT that I knew functioned. This was over a year ago. It didn't work. As it was not urgent, I forgot about it.
Now, there is software I want to use that relies on QT being installed.
Running into the same problem with the installation. It's a Catch-22 situation.
*The QT 7.5.5 Installer won't install because "a newer version is already installed".*
*However, attempts to run ANY software or movie or whatnot that uses QT tells me the opposite, that QT is NOT installed.*
I have searched the computer's furthest corners trying to dig out components and packages and it STILL insists QT is installed. I've searched on every possible variation of QuickTime, Quicktime, quicktime, qt, you name it. NOTHING.
What am I missing? How do I get this to work? I've no intention of upgrading to Leopard just yet.
    Thanks in advance.

    What am I missing?
As far as I know, the installing software still checks the "Library > Receipts" folder to read a history of which package updates have been installed rather than searching to see if the actual app is installed. Have you deleted the receipt ".pkg" files equal to or newer than the one you currently wish to install. However, remember this approach assumes that any "patches" applied in the ordinary upgrade process will not create a conflict within the embedded QT structure when reinstalling an older version--which may or may not be true here. (I.e., QT is no longer an independent application or software package but rather an integrated part of the operating system.) The safest approach is to re-install an older version of the entire OS and upgrade the system as it was meant to be updated to the level at which you wish to operate.

  • FFMPEG won't install

    Hi folks.
Just grabbed the May 2 snapshot of ffmpeg, and she won't install.
    *make(6189) malloc: * vm_allocate(size=4272951296) failed (error code=3)*
    *make(6189) malloc: * error: can't allocate region*
*make(6189) malloc: * set a breakpoint in szone_error to debug*
*make: * virtual memory exhausted. Stop.*
Thing is, my startup/scratch dirve has 167 GB free.
Anyway, I want to go back and get previous versions, but they don't have any previous versions posted, from what I gather. I don't use any of the Linux type of YUMs, so perhaps that's an option? Anybody have any notes on how to do that?
    Thanks

No, the product you're troubleshooting is ffmpeg, and since you're apparently trying to compile the product from the source code, you really need to be addressing it on their web site. In any case, the iPhone forum isn't really the place for this question since it's not an iPhone issue per se. The Mac OS X forums would be a better place if for some reason you feel that you need to post in the Discussions.
But why are you bothering trying to build ffmpeg from the source code? Why not just use MPEG StreamClip which already contains all the necessary components? Or one of the many other pre-built video conversion utilities, many of which (as is StreamClip) free?

  • OS X Lion won't install on my MacBook Pro

My hard drive crashed so I replaced it with a Western Digital 500 gb drive. I formatted the disk through disk utility and then began the process of downloading OS X Lion in internet recovery. I have my laptop on an ethernet cable. The estimated time remaining will say anything from 12-15 hours remaining despite any progress shown on the bar. I left my computer alone for over 40 hours, it was slowly downloading all this time. It had but a half centimeter left of the progress bar when a window popped up saying the additional components could not be downloaded. Why is this happening and what can I do?

I was able to make a bootable installer on a flashdrive for mavericks and it won't install that way either. It says my new hard drive needs to be repaired but disk utility can't repair it so I keep recreating a partition and nothing is working. Please help me

  • Explore Music won't install

After installing the latest version of Nokia PC Suite, the explore Music part won't install on my PC. I successfully click through get the various dialogue boxes, and then get to the install part and all three application components fail to install.
I am running Windows XP SP3. All other parts to PC Suite seem to work fine and I previously used Nokia music to manage the music file transfers onto my E51. Any suggestions as to a fix would be appreciated.

    Hi,
As of now not all Nokia phones are compatible with Nokia Music(PC application).... Hence my workaround for you guys at the moment will be check in google for Nokia PC Suite 7.1.26.1 version, which will have Nokia Music Manager which is supported for most of the Nokia Phones, similar to your issues you may find posts in

RUM won't install the updates to the main applications (i.e. photoshop, premierepro, after effects, etc). I've tried both with and without the "--channelIds" flag and tried specifiying the update version as best as I can (although the documentation on these is horrendous).
Am I missing something? How can I get RUM to perform the update on the main applications?

We are experiencing the exact same issue, though not on all of the machines in our environment. There appears to be no rhyme or reason to it - some of the computers installs all recent updates, some only install the ones you noted above. We are using the Adobe update servers but cannot for the life of us determine why some computers (same make, same model, same build) can see newer updates and some cannot. Did you ever find a resolution to this issue or did it eventually fix itself?

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
