9iAS Interconnect Issue

Hi Everyone,
As part of 9iAs integration scenarios for one of our customer(sending the messages from Oracle CRM to WebMethod(WM) through 9iAs and getting back response from WM to do some DML operations at Oracle CRM side through 9iAs) we are facing message creation problem in Request & Reply within same session. We are able to execute this scenario with single message. When we have parent with multiple child elements we are unable to send message from CRM to 9iAS. Could you pls help us to resolve this problem? Also if you have any 9iAS related white papers /documents that can help us in resolving this pls send -> [email protected]
Thanks in advance and waiting for your reply.
Suman

Karen, I would not believe that anything in the application server would cause the downloading of JRE 1.2.2. This behavior sounds like a bug in the application. Since this is a web-based application, can you identify the html source that triggers the downloading and post it here?

What is the message saturation point for Oracle 9iAS Interconnect? In other words, is there a known upper limit for the number of messages per second/minute/hour/day or whatever that you can safely push through Oracle 9iAS Interconnect? In the absense of hard data, has anybody out there reached a point beyond which it does not make sense to push more messages through the system?

  • Oracle10g RAC Cluster Interconnect issues

    Hello Everybody,
Just a brief overview as to what i am currently doing. I have installed Oracle10g RAC database on a cluster of two Windows 2000 AS nodes. These two nodes are accessing an external SCSI hard disk.I have used Oracle cluster file system.
Currently i am facing some performance issues when it comes to balancing workload on both the nodes.(Single instance database load is faster than a parallel load using two database instances).
I feel the performance issues could be due to IPC using public Ethernet IP instead of private interconnect.
(During a parallel load large amount of packets of data are sent over the Public IP and not Private interconnect).
How can i be sure that the Private interconnect is used for transferring cluster traffic and not the Public IP? (Oracle mentions that for a Oracle10g RAC database, private IP should be used for heart beat as well as transferring cluster traffic).
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Salil

  • Fabric Interconnect ISSU support

I was asked by many cutomers about ISSU support for the UCS Fabric Interconnect ? They all know, that N5K (without L3 module) supports ISSU. Is it on the roadmap ?

    Hello wdey,
This is a different concept, the nexus control plane need keep relationships during the upgrade process.
In the UCS Fabric Interconnect, you have others tecnologies to provide high avability to the system overall. (fabric failover, UCSM cluster, FC multipath).
Although the N5K and the FI is almost the same box, the systems running are completly different. The ISSU in the FI is not necessary, as all functions can be transfered to the pair FI that remained running.

  • Oracle 9iAS Installation Issues, Win 2000

    Hi Folks,
    I'm trying to Install 9IAS on a WIN2000 PE.
I already have Oracle NT Personal Edition (download nt817personal), up and running.
My Question is do I need to use Oracle nt817ee (Enterprise Edition)
    Any suggestions ?
    Thanks

I agree with your 5 P's, but Oracle is killing themselves by not improving the installation issues. Oracle is in a fight to the death with Microsoft, and there are a lot of people who give up on Oracle products because the learning curve is too steep just to be able to login as Scott. I have a lot of experience with Windows and Oracle, and have installed the RDBMS on probably 50 separate machines in the last several years, yet I still cringe when I double click setup.exe since I never know if universal installer is going to abort. I'm not a Unix or Linux guru, and I tried and tried to get Oracle RDBMS 8i to install on several flavors of Red Hat, but I gave up. DB2 and Interbase both installed without the hassles. Take a look at the Linux forum on Technet, and look at the effort that some people are doing to try to get it to work. It should not be this hard. I would like to use Linux/Oracle on some of our servers, but frankly it is too hard currently. You shouldn't need a metal link account to install software on a clean install of Windows, or be a guru at writing device drivers for Linux to install Oracle on that platform.

  • 9iAS Interconnect repositories

Is it possible to have multiple interconnect repositories up and running and be able to connect to them through iStudio at the same time, for the one install of 9iAS?
We have installed multiple reposities, but can only seem to connect to one at a time.
    Regards
    Karen Gadsby

I don't think that is possible. You connect to the repository through the repository process (under oai/9.0.2). AFAIK it is not possible to run it multiple times.
But why would you even want to do such a thing ? You are able to create as much connections as you want in 1 installation.

  • RAC 11R2 Private Interconnect Issue

    Friends
We had setup our Oracle Clusterware on Solaris Sparc with a version 11.2.0.3 PSU 2 patch sets. Some changes happen at the OS level and the private Interconnect IPs were picked wrong by our Oracle Clusterware registry.
The clusterware is down. We are not able to bring up the clusterware. There will be a need to change the private IP configuration at the Oracle Clusterware level and now the clusterware is down.
Is there any way we can change the configuration in private Interconnect ?

  • EBS 11i Adaptor certification with 9iAS/ 10g AS Interconnect and FMW 11g

I'm trying to get three compatibility questions answered regarding the 9iAS / 10g Interconnect product to assist with upgrade planning:
    1. Is the EBS 11i Adaptor with 9iAS Interconnect certified when the underyling EBS database is Oracle 10g? (the certification page is not specific in this regards, it doesn't mention the underlying database release)
    2. Is the EBS 11i Adaptor with 10gAS Interconnect certified when the underyling EBS database is Oracle 10g?
    3. Does the EBS 11i adaptor for Fusion Middleware 11g work against an Oracle EBS 11i that is running on a 10g database?
    Thanks.

    Hi Pritesh,
    With Pleasure brother
Is the  oracle application server 10g is required to install in my case.
No, You don't need to worry about this, as you are not working with Portal.
    But just to clarify:
When you upgrade from 11i to R12 application, then 10g Application Server will be automatically configured as R12 Application uses 10g Application Server by default.

  • Interconnect Repository and Adapters going down frequently

    Hi,
We are using 9iAs interconnect as messaging middleware between Oracle applications CRM and Main frames systems.
The 9iAs repository and adapters (DB and http) are going down frequently in Production environment.
Every time we had an issue of servers going down, we used to restart them.
Sometimes they are working fine after the first bounce; otherwise we are bouncing them again.
    The behavior is very intermittent.
We need some suggestions on the following:
Is there any potential risk involved if we bounce the 9iAs interconnect repository and adapters daily?
Will there be any impact in the performance if we enable the log level to verbose for all the adapters? (As of now, the log level is set to log only errors)
Any help in this regard is much appreciated
    Thanks,
    Lahari

  • First patch for the non-released 9iAS 9.0.4

Today I mentioned the first patch is released for 9ias 9.0.4 (patch 3089193). Strange that Oracle already releases patches for a product that itself has not been released yet. Is it that difficult to implement that patch into the base version? I heard that we may expect 9iAS 9.0.4 around september/october so there should be time enough.

Well -- to respond to the patches...
9.0.2.1 core patchset breaks my Jdev/BC4J application with an error indicating the BC4J tables couldn't be updated
So, I try 9.0.2.2 patch. Can't get past installation instructions (posted message yesterday about this -- no response yet).
javax.naming.CommunicationException: webdev1.softmatic.esoftmatic.com:4031. Root exception is java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: object is not an instance of declaring class
Patches have definitely not helped here.
    To be constructive:
    1) Looking for 9.0.4 release to allow clustering of OC4J processes even if installed with reports/forms (i.e. allow me to use EM to cluster, even if EM can't cluster the reports servers). It would be nicer to have EM cluster reports services too, but probably need smart way of updating CGICMD.DAT, for example. I could deal with just clustering the OC4J portions, but to prevent me from doing it because I've installed the "business intelligence" is frustrating because I know the capability is there -- I just can't get there because we use the reports too.
    2) Looking for text/xml/configuration files on NT to use Windows CRLF (cgicmd.dat, opmn.xml, etc). Annoying, especially since I have to document the installation procedures for disaster recovery and need to include unix to dos type utilities, etc. Getting a real editor isn't my problem, it's the disaster recovery plan where you can't count on people knowing how to deal with it themselves.
    3) Looking for way to deploy 9.0.3 JDeveloper BC4J to 9.0.2 safely (docs say you can't)...As a generalization, allow deployment of newer jdev/bc4j libraries with the applications. The "tightness" of BC4J within 9iAS causes issues. Development environments are updated more regularly than production -- hence the ability to fully deploy newer applications to the older app servers is key.
There are probably others... but those topics seem to not come up in the forums.

I'm having some problems to receive files from ftp adapter of oai.

With the next patchset for 9iAS InterConnect 9.0.2, which is expect to be released within the next week or so,
we'll provide aditional functionality for the FTP adapter. That will include features that allow users to specify custom

  • The headphone jack on my Mac Mini is putting our distorted audio

Currently, I'm running the audio from my Mac Mini to our brand new digital sound board but we are getting a lot of distorted signal.
It's not a constant distortion and it seems to develop after a few minutes of use.
We run the computer volume no higher than half....so that's not the issue.
We also have changed out the cables several times...so that's not it.
Like I said, the sound board is brand new and so are the powered speakers it's running to.....that's not it.
We also run the signal to a set of wireless speakers from an aux output on the board and get the same issue....
So, it seems that the issue is the audio jack (headphone jack) on the Mac Mini.
    Anyone else had this issue?
    Any solutions?
    Can it be replace?
Should I try an USB interface?

Something you haven't mentioned, have you plugged just
a set of headphones directly into the Mini and get the same
    result?
I ask this as it could be some interconnect issue between the
Mini and other devices (ground loops, loading, etc.).  It still
may not mean that the Mini is not the issue, just trying to
isolate what the issue is.  The fact that the issue is not
immediate, kind of sounds like it may be one of these issues.
As a side note, I have found that ground loops can cause all
manor of strange issues, especially with audio.

  • Integration of Application - Very Urgent

    Hi,
we are developed the application in Web throu CGI - 9ias,oracle81 with NT
Now we are at final stage of the project .we have lot of applications like payroll, marketing, finance, production & etc .
How to integrate all those application in CGI
    Thanks,

One option is to use 9iAS InterConnect. InterConnect provides a database adapter for integrating database applications. You would have one database adapter per application and use the iStudio GUI tool to create mappings between the objects in the various applications. You can find info on InterConnect here: http://otn.oracle.com/tech/integration/pdf/intg_twp.pdf

  • DB Adapter

I am trying out the integration between 2 applcations using db adapter at each side (following the sample scenario from the DB adapter documentation). What I want to accomplish is:
DBUSER (publish message) -> interconnect -> DEMOSUB (subscribe to message and create a record in DEMOSUB's table: RESULTS)
    Questions:
    1. What is OAI schema for? this is created in the post-installation step. I don't understand the relationship between this schema and my hub schema (I have a hub schema called OAIHUB which was created when I installed AQ Adapter for another purpose).
    2. When I publish a message (as DBUSER), the message is posted into OAI.AOTABLE and OAI.MESSAGEOBJECTTABLE, but the subscribing application does not seemed to see the message; hence no record created in the table RESULTS. (btw: DEMOSUB subscribes to OAIHUB.OAI_HUB_QUEUE) Do I need to create a queue in OAI's schema? or is it correct to subscribe to my hub schema's queue?
I am very confused! Appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.

installed AQ Adapter for another purpose).
Some confusion here. The hub schema (usually called OAIHUB when using iAS 1.0.2.2 or OAIHUB902 when
    using iAS 9.0.2) is created
as part of the 9iAS InterConnect hub. The hub schema has all metadata repository tables, the
    OAI_HUB_QUEUE
Advanced Queue (AQ) which is the message forward/storage of the 9iAS InterConnect hub and some other
    objects. However, it's not
    created with the AQ adapter.
The OAI schema is the DB adapter's bridge schema. It's a spoke component that the DB adapter needs in order
    to receive messages
from a spoke database. When modeling a Publishing Event for a database application, iStudio will generate a
    PL/SQL
Package that must be deployed to the spoke database. This PL/SQL Package contains Procedures and Function
    that must be used to
create, populate and publish the message object to the DB adapter during runtime. Here's an example of generated
    PL/SQL code:
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE Customer AS
    PROCEDURE crMsg_create_OAI_V1 (
    messageObjectID OUT NUMBER,
    aoID OUT NUMBER,
    CUSTOMERID IN NUMBER,
    FIRSTNAME IN LONG,
    LASTNAME IN LONG,
    TITLE IN LONG,
    BUSINESSNAME IN LONG,
    CUSTOMERTYPE IN LONG,
    EMAILADDRESS IN LONG,
    ADDRESS IN LONG,
    CITY IN LONG,
    STATE IN LONG,
    ZIP IN NUMBER
    PROCEDURE pub_create_OAI_V1(
    messageObject IN NUMBER,
    srcAppName IN VARCHAR2
    END Customer ;
The way this works during runtime is simple. When calling the publishing procedure and passing your message
    object, the message
object will be inserted into the OAI.MESSAGEOBJECTTABLE in the OAI bridge schema, which the DB adapter
    polls every 500msec.
    2. When I publish a message (as DBUSER), the message is posted into OAI.AOTABLE and OAI.MESSAGEOBJECTTABLE, but the subscribing application does not seemed to see the message; hence no
record created in the table RESULTS. (btw: DEMOSUB subscribes to OAIHUB.OAI_HUB_QUEUE) Do I
need to create a queue in OAI's schema? or is it correct to subscribe to my hub schema's queue?
I am very confused! Appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance. No extra queues or anything else needed here. You just need to call the iStudio generated PL/SQL procedures
    from the database
in order to create, populate and publish the message object. Your problem is most likely that you didn't provide the
    right value for the
'srcAppName' parameter in the publish procedure. You'd need to pass the application name that you used in
    iStudio and that you
specified in the DB adapter's adapter.ini file application_name parameter. That should be 'DBUSER' in your case.
