9iasR2 install infra on Windows and rest on Lixux

I would like to install the infrastructure into pre-existing Windows database, and the app server itself onto Linux. My quetions are...
1. Can I install infrastructure into a pre-existing database rather than create a new one?
2. I have the Linux 9iasR2 software. Must I order the Windows release too in order to have the infrastrucure on Windows?? Or can that be done remotely as part of the Linux install?

Cameron,
No, infrastructure cannot be installed into an existing database. This is a feature we are considering for a future release, but for now it won't work.
Also, you will need different CDs for different platforms.

  • Can install "Skype for Windows" and "Skype for Bus...

    Hi! All,
"Skype for Business" has been installed into my office PC.
I would like to know that I can install "Skype for Windows" into this same PC or not?
Is there any conflict in using between these two editions on same PC?
    Thanks!

I have had both installed for months.  I have not run into any problems with them both being present.  I could see there being an issue if you plan to accept a call if you are on another call with the opposite client (since the mic/playback hardware would already be in use).

  • [S] Firefox hangs on KDE install after all windows and tabs are closed

When I launch Firefox from KDE, the process hangs around consuming ~70-100% CPU of at least one core after closing all windows and tabs. We have to kill the process manually or say File->Quit and issue the real exit command instead of just closing all tabs. I ran strace and found that Firefox is poll()ing something as fast as it can after all windows are destroyed, causing the CPU increase. Anyone know how I can fix this? I've already tried a different profile and pacman -Rnd to no effect.

I've solved this by removing gtk-qt-engine; without gtk-qt-engine, firefox behaves as expected.

By subscribing to Creative Cloud(Photoshop and Lightroom), does it come with more than one license, and if it does, is it possible to install on both Windows and Apple's OX? Thanks.

A Cloud subscription provides for installing working installations on two machines.  You can have mixed operating systems (both Windows and Apple's OX).

  • Install Arch Before Windows?

My profession requires that I triple boot Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows.  I have purchased a Macbook Pro and know this is possible.  I want to do anything possible to avoid Vista and have decided to download the Windows 7 RC this coming Tuesday.  I would like to start making my Arch system right now, however.  I know it is more than advised you install Windows first, but does anyone know how I could install Arch, then Windows, and not have a big mess on my hands?

If you want to dual/triple boot on a mac you need to boot from the EFI bootloader first, and most people install rEFIt. From there you can boot into your OS's. Remember your partition table will be a dual gpt/mbr, so you can only have four primary partitions.
Also, I don't see how the order of installing the OS's would matter at all.

  • Windows XP Clean Install – What I discovered and the help I need

Windows XP Clean Install – What I discovered and the help I need
I previously had a problem with my Laptop dying randomly you can read about it in the thread entitled Computer dies Randomly (Battery also dead) click to view
Before I realised the solutions, I thought that maybe my Laptop had become infected with a Virus and decided it would be prudent to do a clean install of the Windows XP operating system.
Everything went perfectly and thought a clean install was a good opportunity to download the “XP Service Pack 3” SP3 and did so, it seemed very quiet though and that’s when I realised I had no sound…
I downloaded all of the sound drivers I could find on the Lenovo site for 3000 N100 (I knew from previous experience that the “SOUNDMAX” driver is the only one that actually works with this 3000 N100) in order to install this you have to install the Realtek HD audio driver, but in order to install that you have to install some other Driver/Soft that only works with SP1 or SP2 if you try to install it with SP3 it will say that you don’t need the file as your Service pack is newer than the file you want to install, this is understandable as SP3 is not final as of yet (but it’s good to know).
My next problem was that my extra RAM was not detected, this was fixed by updating the BIOS, after installing all of the System updates, PC Doctor, everything I could find for 3000 N100 I decided to rest, I pushed the Lenovo care button and it did not work, I found a hot key driver and installed it but still the Lenovo care button does not work, previously when I pushed this button it would bring up the Lenovo menu but now it’s just a dead button, Does anyone know how to get this button working again?
I am pretty sure that everything else is working fine now, just that button not working is very annoying, is there a set routing of installs you must do to get everything working, i.e. bios 1st audio 2nd system update 3rd etc...
Please help, I hope I have helped you...

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Ok first everything works now... except the Lenovo Care button, I just posted the other stuff cause it might help other members,  I have searched the forum for an anwser to this problem but there was only one anwser (suggesting to uninstall the driver restart and re-install it) and it did not result in a working Lenovo Care button...
I don't beleive the Lenovo keyboad drivers are in any way related to the Service pack 3 as they do not use the Service pack files, to back this up I also had the same problem when Service Pack 2 was installed...
The Lenovo Care button works fine on Boot up screen to access the rescue and recovery software (So the mechanics of the button are fine) but once Windows XP loads it is just a dead button, I remember it used to open up the Lenovo Care Start bar, I got it working once in the past but I can't remember what I did, I thought someone here might know the anwser...

  • How to de-install Infra and Middle-tier properly?

    Dear All,
I want to clear the proper de-install concept of Infra & Middle-tier so please guide me for this.
    Thanks,
    Waheed

    Hi Waheed,
On the Windows operating system, you can run the Oracle Universal Installer (look in your Start menu) and de-install both an infrastructure and middle-tier at the same time (if they're on the same machine).
When the Oracle Universal Installer is done, you will have to delete the Oracle homes from your hard drive.
Not sure if it works the same way on Unix/Linux installations. . .

    Jim

  • I am on Windows XP. Updated to latest iTunes but it would not install. Tried again and the system hung. I did a restart and iTunes had completely vanished from my system. Tried to do a new install but it won't finalise. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

I am on Windows XP. Updated to latest iTunes but it would not install. Tried again and the system hung. I did a restart and iTunes had completely vanished from my system. Tried to do a new install but it won't finalise. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

OK, lets do a complete overhaul to make sure it's working ok.
First to check your Windows system file for any corruption:
Go to command prompt (START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES right mouse click "command prompt" and choose "Run as Administrator"
    type in
    sfc /scannow
let Windows fix any system files that need to be repaired.
    Restart the computer.
Start iTunes and see if it is ok.
If it doesn't, will have to go through the whole process of uninstalling and installing acccording to the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
(Referenceinstructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components)
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • Can I install both Snow Leopard and Windows 7 on the same version of VMWare 5?

Even though I am running Apple OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.3 on my new 2013 iMac, I have just installed VMWare's "Fusion 5" so I can have Windows 7 installed on the "Fusion 5, for limited usage needs.
I also would like to have a running version of Snow Leopard available to run my large collection of original Lynda.com training DVD's and CD's ... which unfortunately, now only allow the Lynda.com GUI player to operate in (and up to) Snow Leopard (at least this is what the Tech folks at Lynda.com have told me).
Since Lynda.com is no longer producing any or their training programs on CD or DVD any longer, and because they have stopped supporting their training programs to run on Lion and above, I will have to have a version of Snow Leopard installed to run these training programs, and still be able to run them using the Lynda.com GUI player.
    So here's my dilemma:
    1.  Can I install both a version of Snow Leopard OS on my "VMWare "Fusion 5" .... along with a running version of Windows 7 on       the same "Fusion 5"?
    2.  Do I install only the Windows 7 on the VMWare, and find some other "device" to run a version of Snow Leopard off of?
    3.  Do I consider using "BootCamp", in conjunction with "Fusion 5", to get access to both Snow Leopard and Windows 7?
Has anyone had any experience installing BOTH a previous (older) version of Apple OSX  ... AND ... a Windows OS version on one installed version of VMWare "Fusion"?
    OR
Any suggestions on how to set up having access to both Snow Leopard and Windows 7 .... while keeping OS Mountain Lion as my main OS?

    mende1
Thanks ... the "You have to purchase Snow Leopard Server" I knew about, and a few days ago I just ordered a copy from the Apple Store:
    Snow Leopard Server - Ordered at: 1-800-692-7753 ... OR ... 1-866-254-8313
I asked for Apple Snow Leopard Server (Model MC588Z/A (SLSVR)
    "Unlimited Client License"
It was around $25.50 (USD) with sales tax and shipping (NYS).
One thing though ... when you mention:  "you should make two virtual machines".
Not being too familiar with "Fusion 5" yet, Is setting up "two machine" all done under one installed version of "Fusion 5"?
Would you have "links" to any "Fusion 5" installation instructions/info for setting up the
"two machines" (one for Snow Leopard and one for Windows 7)?

You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:

Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from

    Hello Jess2321,
I recommend this article named iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717. The name says Windows 7 but the troubleshooting will be relevant for Windows 8, although some of the locations in the OS may be a bit different.
