9iDS Forms - Cannot Run Forms In Forms Builder

Attempting to run and test a form using 9iDS Forms Builder, only get a blank screen. Any suggestions ???

please check if the Jinitiator version that you have installed on your machine matches with the classid setting in the formsweb.cfg file (forms90/server/formsweb.cfg). Internet Explorer has zero tolerance.

You are asking this question quite often...Why not just follow up one of your threads as they obviously are about running forms with firefox?
Anyway; to sum it all up, in order to get firefox running you need to configure the sun java plugin which you already did: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/documentation/forms-jre-131772.pdf
Then you need to set the jpi_mimetype in your formsweb.cfg accordingly to the version of the jpi you installed. If you want to start forms with any java plugin just change it to
jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-appletcheers

The kinda answer I like: download, copy, mesh, hack. Looks very nice, must work in most cases, but not this time for me. Behavior was exactly the same, running the nightly build.
Just for the records:
Safari prefs in my Windows live happy in:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Apple Computer\Safari
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer\Safari
These days I installed an Safari in a brand new 2003 and worked nice. Bug 4 x 1 Safari. Bug still winning.
So, it must be some stuff, some little tricky service or software I install in my usual Windows.

Upgraded Win2000 to SP4: Now cannot run in 9i Forms Builder

I upgraded to SP4 for Win2000 professional. Now when I attempt to run a form through 9i Forms Builder I get "FRM-92160: Web client version too old".
Do I need a new OC4J? If so, where is is within OTN?

Sounds like maybe you need to clear out the cache for jinitiator or you are pointing to an different version of the JAR file. Did you apply a Forms patch as well?
I would suggest getting on metalink.oracle.com since there are a few notes which talk you through this.

Why Forms 11g 32bit forms cannot run on 64bit without recompiling?

Hi gang
Hopefully one of the Forms gurus on this forum can give me a quick and succinct answer to the following question.
We're just setup a Windows XP 32bit install of Forms 11g on our developer machines, and a WLS install of Forms 11g and relating services on Windows 2008 64bit.
Question is, why do Forms compiled on the 32bit architecture not work on the 64bit architecture? Why do they need to be recompiled? I'm aware of the difference between 32bit/64bit OS environments, but what's that got to do with the FMX, PLX (etc) files? What are those files doing internally that's specific to the 32bit/64bit platform?
None the wiser. Your thoughts appreciated.

--A form is compiled against a 32-bit platform, Ex(Linux 32-bit)
-- Move the .fmx to a 64-bit Platform, Ex (Linux 64-bit) and try to run it and you will receive the following error message:
"FRM-40010 : Cannot read form xxxxx"
Solution
+ Re-compile the form against the same platform where it will be launched .
For example, if the production machine is 64-bit, all forms must be compiled against the production Server (64-bit).

There is no need for this. The fmb files are the same on all platforms.
Only the fmx files have to be compiled/generated for each platform.
For reports it even easier: you do not need to generate/compile the rdf, jsp files etc before running them.
C- Does it matter if the development platform for Forms and Reports developer is Windows or Linux if one is going to migrate the Forms or Reports to a 64 bit Linux platform and recompile?
No this does not matter, you are able to migrate from Windows to Unix - you must use the frmcmp_batch utility to generate the executables files.
Builders (Forms/Reports) will not be supported on 64bit operating systems.
Therefore, one can develop on the available 32bit Builders and then recompile/deploy to the 64 bit environment.

can it possible i select column name in parameter as a list and report
show data only these column
if any solution plz help me

I think you can achieve this as follows:
set up a new parameter, say P_FIELD, with initial value of empname
in your data model have an sql something like
Select
P_FIELD as field1 from EMP
pass the column name to P_FIELD and the report will return that column

Just installed 10g: Main form cannot find subforms or menus

I just added 10g FOrms Builder to my PC. I was running 9i and it still exists on the machine.
Problem: My main form, when run locally from Forms Builder cannot find any of its menus or subforms unless the FULL PATHs are defined in the properties or CALL_FORMs.
This was not a problem when running from 9i FOrms Builder.
I am assuming its a parameter somewhere in the FORMSWEB.CFG file which sets the default path to whatever path the main form uses.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Well, I assume that if 9i was installed, you also had FORMS90_PATH set in the registry.
Perhaps what is happening is Forms is running your main form, and then when you are calling other forms, it is using the 9i versions, and then failing because they are not 10g versions.
For example:
d:\app\9i\form1.fmx
d:\app\10g\form1.fmx
When trying to call form1.fmx, Forms follows the FORMS90_PATH first and uses the form in d:\app\9i\. Change your FORMS90_PATH and see what happens.
This is just a theory, I am new to 9i and 10g myself.

Which form is running

Is there a way to determine which form is running on the application server?
Enterprise Manager will tell the user id, pid ... but it does not show which form is running.

Yes the form module that is currently executing. In our system there over 100 fmx's that could be executing.
Duncan, Thanks for the idea to use the DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO package, however that would require me to modify and compile all of my forms. I will probably implement this solution on the heavy use forms.
Now that all forms are running on the application server, wouldn't it be great if Oracle built something into EM the could track which form is running and perhaps even determine which one are performing poorly.
We can wish can't we.

Oracle report runs correctly via report builder but call report via form with parameters skips one of the plsql formula

I created a oracle report i.e Bank Book having banks transactions receipts and payments and opening balance w.e.f 01-jul-2014. parameters are bank code, from_date and to_date. opening balance calculates (return ope from table bankinfo +total receipts-total payments). reports runs correctly via report builder. balances are ok. but the problem is when i run this report via oracle form opening balance return only ope from table bankinfo and skips total receipts-total payments.....
i dont think so why this happend at all. some body help me...

Cannot run Forms

I just installed Oracle 9i Developer Suite and 9i database rel 2...I am able to connect to the database from form builder and develop forms and compile them...However, I am not able to run the form module...I get the following error "The http listener is not running..Please start the listener or check your runtime preferences." How do i solve this?

Hi,
Webforms always run through the forms server on your OC4J web container. So you have to start it before you can run your forms, even if you run them via Forms Builder.
How to start working with webforms is all documented, but I'll very briefly summarize it here, so you can embark your webforms adventure.
First you have to configure the forms server. 2 files are involved (both located in $devsuite_home\forms90\server):
1. default.env, the 'registry' for the forms server. Add your FORMS90_PATH in here, so the server can find your modules.
2. formsweb.cfg, the configuration for the forms server. In here you can enter your starting form module, connection to the database, etc, etc.
- Assuming you're on Windows, start your OC4J from the Start menu -> Programs -> Oracle Developer Suite - 9i/10g -> Forms Developer -> Start OC4J instance.
- A DOS-box will appear (don't close it!) stating that the OC4J is running.
- Check that's the forms server is working by browsing to http://localhost:8889/forms90/f90servet. A welcome screen appears if all is well. If nothing happens your port is different. Verify this in file $devsuite_home\j2ee\DevSuite\config\default-web-site.xml
- In Forms Builder, save your modules to a location that's on the FORMS90_PATH.
- Run the module. If nothing happens go to Preferences in the forms menu and on the runtime tab, enter the URL of the forms server.
Success.

I have this main-menu.. and when i click on one of the submenus which should call the form....i get this error.

Same issue here... Been trying to get this working since a week now. I tried all the solutions like memory heap and all but no luck.
One thing that I would like to know is that, in some threads the resolution was to recompile the INS_FORMS.MK file under /forms/lib32 but with my installation I don't have that "lib32" folder under /forms/ and I can not even find that file anywhere in my entire installation.
I am using 12.1.1 on Windows Server 2008.
Any help or guidelines is greatly appreciated.

then only application ruuning at port 9000 is isfrv60 i stardetd.
Not only..i can note, that if i start ifrsv60 port=9000 for first
and then i modify then listener number port of OAS to 9000, the
listener applet say me something like..i cannot able to fork...
So, i MUST to set AOS listener port to 9000,and AFTER start
ifsrv60 on port 9000.
Only in this way there are'nt errors..but nothing happens..
Same story if the number port isn't 9000 ..
However..i ask to myself, why the release note and guide on OAS
web pages are fills of all examples to how to do buldin
cartridges and application, but there aren't any examples about
web-forms!!

Forms 9iDs could not run sample form

I downloaded the windows version of 9IDs release 2 and tried to run a sample form. The applet get initialized. the login window pops up. once the user and database information is passed the applet tries to connect but this message pops up finally:
"FRM-92100:Your connection to the server was interrupted.

are you trying to run the demos on Oracle9iAS ? I thought the readme is saying that you can only run this from Oracle9iDS. Please make sure that you run this in 9iDS and not 9iAS.

Problem in running a sample form in form builder

Recently,I started using oracle9i DS, and for creating form in it,i use form builder.
it has some samples incorporated,but i can't run them in internet browser.
At first it gave me an error that there was no listener on port 8889,but i create a listener and a service name for that port and solved the problem.
now after connecting to the database and compiling module successfully ,i click to run a form ,it open the browser with this Address but nothing happened.

From the url I can see your file name like Customer%20F.fmx.
