9iDS Release 2 - what and when
I read all this marketing hype with Forms/Reports 9 but the
inference is that they are in a 9iDS Release 2. When will this
be available and what exactly will it give me over ver 1.0.2.4
(May-01).
I have the same problem with 9iAS Release 2 - what components
does it actually have. Trying to get an answer to that also.

Safari Reset and Empty Cache - What and When?

What do Reset Safari and Empty Cache actually do and when should I consider doing it?

Fragglerockyou really only need to reset safari if you are having issues with it.
Clearing the caches is something you should do every once in a while though, the caches folder will hold some temporary files that will build up and can just take up space on your computer. -

For writer/painter reports you can view stats via SE16 in table T803J. For all reports and transactions execution info is stored in table MONI. This is the same info available via ST03 and to some extent STAT. Info for MONI is collected from the UNIX servers and totalled on MONI by day, week, month, year. Retention periods are set by the Basis group. We have a custom table where this information is stored by period for historical and licensing purposes. Be sure to use the SAP function modules to retrieve data from MONI.

That data is stored in a statistics file. To get to it, try using function module SAPWL_STATREC_READ_FILE. Before calling the function, you will need to get the path of the statistics file, and to do that try this:
CALL 'C_SAPGPARAM' ID 'NAME' FIELD 'stat/file'
ID 'VALUE' FIELD WS_PATH.
You will need to use WS_PATH on the STATISTIC_FILE exporting parameter on the call to SAPWL_STATREC_READ_FILE. You should get the data back in the V2 records (releases over 4.0) and in V1 (releases < 4.0).

Upon sending mail I always get a pop up box saying unable to contact server so I have to click okay.
Often I think an email has gone - only to find it stuck in drafts days later. This is extremely annoying ... mostly I have to wait around and after maybe 5 minutes check my sent box just to be sure it actually went. Even though I heard the whoosh ... doesn't seem to mean it really did go.
Some of my photos in Iphoto just have a big exclamation mark when I try to open them up - any ideas how to fix this one.etresoft a long time contributer to Apple Support Communities wrote a very useful app he called etrecheck which helps in diagnosing many problems caused by third party installs etc.. I did this but it did not work. I notice that SoftwareUpdate.plist when I have dragged it to the desktop is still in Preferences.
Also, I am doubtful that I am really in safe mode as it does not say so and when I press shift on start up tone i get rapid non-stop flashing of smaller grey symbols: do not enter, question mark, apple logo; so, in order to get the flashing to stop I momentarily release the shift and the larger grey apple logo comes up and then I press shift as quickly as I can then I release it as the gears start spinning.

My FaceTime won't connect. Every time I try to call my friend it says connecting. Then unable to connect. Or lost connection. And when I go to our FaceTime history it said "FaceTime answered on another device." What can I do to fix this problem? We always used to FaceTime. And now all of the suddenly we can't.

Probably wasn't a good idea to install beta software on a device when you're not a developer.
Apple clearly states that beta software is not to be installed on production devices.
Not really much you can do except wait for iOS 6.1 to be officially released and then install it. -

I don't think this is an iCloud issue- it is the latest release of Safari. Firefox attachments are still correctly downloaded.
This needs some interest from Apple techs. -
How and when the database release a row lock?
Dear experts,
We are using the following statement to obtain a row lock in a table in the database(ORACLE of course),
SELECT * FROM {TABLE_NAME} WHERE ID = 1 for update
and if we succeed grabbing the row lock we will continue to issue a update statement every 30 seconds to preserve the lock as far as possible.
here is the update statement to preserve the lock,
UPDATE {TABLE_NAME} SET time = ? WHERE ID = 1.
As you see more longer we keep holding the row lock , more update statements are submitted in the pending transaction.
In normal case our application can grab the exclusive row lock and works for a long time,however sometimes a connection reset exception is thrown
and our application will close the connection(I assume the pending transaction will be rolled back by the database) and exit the JVM.
Since other applications will keep trying to grab the same row lock to become the master role,
we expect one of them can succeed but they are all failed because the database has not released the row lock as expected.
Can someone explain more details about how and when the row lock can get released in our use case?

I know that Oracle maintains separate bookkeeping for such transactions which can cause rows to stay 'locked' even when the regular DBA views will indicate there is no user currently locking the record at all. I have no idea about the actual details and what you need to do to clean up such a situation, that is something a DBA should know and do.
If not... well this is more of a question for people who know the DBMS, which makes it a target for the Oracle DBMS forums. Java developers don't tend to have DBA-level knowledge of the database, you should ask the question where you have more chance of people with expertise answering stuff:

It is possible your sequence settings do not match your source material. In the Project Pane, drag one of your source clips to the New Item icon at the bottom right, and release the mouse. That will create a new sequence that matches the properties of the source clip. See if that helps. If so, edit in the new sequence.

I have Adobe Reader X loaded on my computer. Adobe sends me automatic updates periodically. I have been told that some hackers have been sending what appears to be an Adobe update and when I select run it will load malicious software or spyware onto my computer. How would I recognize this attempt and how can I prevent it? I also have Norton protection loaded on my computer (via Comcast). I am not sure if Norton can protect me if I select run. Do you have any suggestions?

By default, Reader updates occur automatically via the Reader app itself, and this is the most secure way to receive updates. While you can choose to update manually (by choosing Help > Check for Updates), you may not always get critical updates as they're released. See Automatic updates | Acrobat, Reader. If you receive an email about needing to update Reader, you should ignore it, as that is where the malicious updates can come from. Just make sure you're letting the updates happen from within Reader, either automatically or manually.
