9iForms demo does not work !!!!

Hi all,
I have installed 9iAS Infrastructure and BI & Forms on one machine in two different and distinct homes.
Its OEM Website is working fine.
I just tried the demos for components installed.
I started 9iAS Infrastructures all components.
Then I started all components of BI & Forms, including the OC4J_BI_Forms and OC4J_DEMOS.
Finally I tried to run the Forms demo, but it states the error, "Form: 92050, Failed to connect to the server: /forms90/I90servlet:-1"
Secondly, when I ask to start all components services through OEM Website, sometimes it does, n sometimes it does not. Can anybody help me ???Thanx

I see that you are using 8.1.7, but the WebStore demo was built and tested using 8.1.6. This is just a guess, but maybe you should use a different JDBC driver. Here are some things to try:
- Edit setbxbenv.bat to configure the sample app environment. Down near the bottom of this file are some lines you can uncomment to use classes111.zip and xsu111.jar. Then comment out the lines that use classes12.zip and xsu12.jar.
- Edit jserv.properties to configure Apache JServ as described in the XSQL Servlet Release Notes (by default, it is installed in c:\xsql\doc\relnotes.html). The Release Notes explain how to configure JServ to use the Oracle JDBC 1.x drivers instead of the Oracle JDBC 2.0 drivers.

Since today I and my collegues are having the exact same problem: running a simple webform from Forms Builder in MIE6+ results in the webpage you describe. We just upgraded our PC to windows XP SP2 only a few day ago, so I suspect Service Pack 2 to be guilty. Everything worked just fine withut SP2. The problem is not due to webutil.
I also noticed that I can run webforms from a stand-alone IE. I also noticed that firefox is able to run webforms from within Forms Builder and stand-alone.
We are further investigating the problem, but any help from you all is desired.

Help! Demo does not work

I met a problem while I tried to run the XML sample 'WebStore B2B Exchange'.
I am using Oracle8.1.7, Apache WebServer 1.3.12 and Apache JServ 1.1. Most of things are OK now, except that when the XSQL servlet wants to creat an AQ connection with oracle database, the application terminates errorly.
The following sentence is what I found in the JServ.log file:
Servlet Error:
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: oracle.jdbc.driver.oracleConnection: method getTypeMap()Ljava/util/Dictionary; not found
at org.apache.jserv.JServConnection.processRequest(JServConnection.java)
at org.apache.jserv.JServConnection.run(JServConnection.java)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:479)
I think the problem is still how to configure the Apache JServ or some other parts.
Sincerely hope that some friends could help me to solve this problem.

Serial number does not work

i purchased CS2 online from amazon ... the serial number did not work... I then went to live chat and they guided me to a new number..
it does not work either... what can i do?????

Is it possible you had a previous install or demo on your disk?
In that case, try deleting these files:
/Library/Receipts/Shake4.1.pkg
/Library/Application Support/ProApps/Shake System ID
Then repair disk permissions using this:
/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility
and try again.

Hyperlink to a music file does not work, Am I doing it incorrectly?

Hello there. I am a composer, trying to add all my music samples to the website. I created a title of one of the music samples, then hyperlinked it to that corresponding music file (mp3), so, when you click on that title, it links it to THAT music file. But, it does not work when I click on the link. If I assign the link to another page for example, the link works. What am I doing wrong here. Or is this not possible? I would hate to have a whole list of music files on one page, especially with that "add image here" box on every one of them.

The file has to be uploaded to your server and then linked to as an external page using the Inspector/Link/Hyperlink pane with the option to open in a new window.
You'll get the same effect as with the music example in this demo page but with a full sized window instead of a smaller one: Opening Item in a New, Precisely Sized Window.
This method would let you add the links to all of your songs to one page. Or you could use a music jutebox for those songs like Roddy has on his iWeb for Musicians site:

This would reduce your site size considerably. But all these methods require you to upload the audio files to the server and link to them there.

Spry Tabbed Panels does not work as I want

Sorry, but this is an utter NOOB question.
I tried to use a Gooey ment on my page, but it does not work as intended.

I assume it is related to the menu already on this page. Anyway, since this did not work, I tried to replace the Gooey menu with Spry Tabbed panels, but being an utter noob in this area, I have made some mistakes that the experts here can probably help solve easily. What happens:
It looks OK in DW:
Go to Live View and it still looks OK:
but then go to the actual page and it looks like this:
Why do the tabbed panels not display at the top of the page next to the vertical menu, like it does in DW?
Second question: How can I add text to each page/ tabbed panel, like here http://ppbm6.com/Planning.html

Turn off CSS. View > Style Rendering > un-tick Display Styles. You'll see an unstyled HTML page in Design View. But this won't effect styles in Live View or Preview.

Importing element definition from an EDD into a template - does not work

FM 10.0.1 German on Windows XP SP3.
When importing the element definitions from an existing EDD into an existing template, FrameMaker converts the template into a new EDD.
So the element definitions which are correctly defined do not appear in the template.
The highest level element is than ElementCatalog in the template and not the higherst lvel element defined in the EDD.
In FM9 this was no issue.
Any help is appreciated, I have a deadline and must do some changes in the EDD.

EDD is english (Version FM7.0), Interface language is German.
Maybe it´s a localization issue.

No question the behavior you describe is a bug. However, I am unable to
duplicate it. I created an EDD with two element definitions:
Element (Container): doc
Valid as the highest-level element.
General rule: (
When I imported element definitions from this EDD into a new portrait
document, FM reports that element a is referenced but not defined and that
b is defined but not referenced. However, with all elements listed, the
element catalog shows a, b, and doc. The metatemplate elements are not
available.
I wonder if this is a language-dependent problem. Is your EDD German or
English? What about your user interface?
Can you send me a short EDD that fails as you've described?

Moved 8.1 - Nodemanager starts but does not work... SSL problem..

We moved our weblogic 8.1 installation to a new production machine (which used to be very easy with weblogic 5.1) but of course, it didn't work because of the SSL demo certificates which were tied to the old server name. It dumped the following line on the log and refused to work:
...Certificate chain received from localhost - 127.0.0.1 failed hostname verification check
We changed our demo certificates as stated in the documentation (certgen, keytool...) and now it starts ok but does not work either. Now we are seeing the following expection on the logs:

I have seen this myself moving domains to a different server. The way I got around it was to set the Hostname Verification for the admin and managed servers to None. This is done via the admin console, SSL tab, Advanced.

URGENT: xml:dml commit="yes" does not work

Im using XDK 9.0.1.1.0A with Tomcat 4.0 and Oracle 9.0.1.1.1 on
NT. I have a problem with commiting an xsql:dml action. I tried
to set the commit-attribute like

The only way is to use

10g JSpell PJC does not work with latest JSpell version

Looks like latest (10g) forms demo - Spell check with JSpell does not work with the latest version of the JSpell software (does not look like this demo been changed from the previous version).
Does anybody has a success running this or have any suggestions how to integrate it together?

Widget Browser Does Not Work

I have the Adobe CC Suite and Dreamweaver CS5.5 and everything is included, however whenever I'm making a webpage and I'm trying to use the widget browser it does not work. I have tried re-installing Dreamweaver and the wideget browser and it does not work, I am signed into Adobe Exchange and everything. I looked at all the other forums about this and none of thos solutions worked out for me. I also could not find the Widget Browser forum so I posted it here because they are intergrated!
And help would be great!

You don't need a widget for this. HTML5 <video> is a web standard supported by all modern browsers/devices. Simply copy & paste the following code into a new, blank document. Change sample videos to your own.

F1 Help does not work

I followed the simple instructions to include F1 help key. The right click "Help" popup works but the F1 key does not work.

The F1 key events are delivered to the component that has the focus, and unlike some other AWT events they don't bubble up to any parent components. Is it possible that the component you mentioned did not have the focus at the time you pressed F1?
There is a "Context Sensitive Help" demo that we distribute with Oracle Help for Java. The source for that demo is contained in the help4-demo.jar if you'd like to look at it. Does the context sensitive help work when you run that demo in your environment?

Rollover image does not work

I created a rollover image on dreamweaver but it seems it does not work well because it work on some broswer and some not, also in some browser after I click it starts working. So I do not know what is wrong?

If you are talking about the single rollover on that page you linked, it's a bog-standard rollover that will work in every browser. Can't imagine why you are having problems with it.
By the way, the values for the name and the id attributes must not contain spaces....

Erlang: wx graphical user interface does not work in R16B-1

After upgrading erlang to R16B-1, the wx GUI subsystem does not work anymore.
