A & B Cluster Difference
Hi All,
What is the major difference between A Cluster and B Cluster?
If I implement SAP Business One 2005 B in Europe or if I implement 2005 A in China, India, Singapore etc, what are the issues that I can foresee?
Alternatively, is it possible to generate 2005B License File if I purchase 2005A and vice versa?
Thanks in advance
B Ravi Shankar
Each of the versions contains localisations for particular countries. For example, we are running one database in the USA localisation, and one in the Canadian localisation. The USA database / company has the applicable states and taxes. The Canadian database / company, contains the taxation required for Canada, plus the state bank information.
When a transaction occurs, each localisation creates a legally correct document.
Just from what I have seen, the language is probably the least of the issues. The taxation methods would be the reason to not install the wrong version and an incorrect localisation.
Why not contact your SAP rep and ask about the licensing keys?

Difference between scalable and failover cluster
Difference between scalable and fail over cluster
A scalable cluster is usually associated with HPC clusters but some might argue that Oracle RAC is this type of cluster. Where the workload can be divided up and sent to many compute nodes. Usually used for a vectored workload.
A failover cluster is where a standby system or systems are available to take the workload when needed. Usually used for scalar workloads. -
Calculation of difference of wages types master data and accounting cluster
Hi, I am developing a ABAP HR report for calculating the difference of wage types master data and accounting data and in the output i need to display the fields like
Officer in-charge of payroll accounting
Officer in-charge of Support
Officer in-charge of time recording
also from where I could get the accounting cluster data for the wage types
I want to know from where I can get these fields and how ther are related with wage types.Check through PA30,there are different infotypes by which these data are maintained in the Employee Master.

A CONFUSION:The difference between cluster and multi-IP--DNS mapping??
I have a test about simplest cluster, admin and managed server all told me "start
cluster service"!the two IP address use ONE DomainName,If one down, when I send
request with dn,It first look up admin server,no found and then go dns to search
another server, about one minute then the server send response to me!
But when I do not config a cluster, only start two admin server and give them the
same dns,the same appearance as cluster!
I don't understand the difference between cluster and multi-IP--DNS mapping??

It is totally different. regarding the last failover example you've given,
of course the 2 servers can have identical files maintained under
public_html. DNS will failover requests to "foo.html" to the other one if
the first server is down, but if you have something saved in a session, say
shopping cart example, it's totally lost, but with WLS clustering, the
session is replicated to the other server in the cluster, you may just
check-out, don't have to order again.
This is just a simple example of WLS cluster session-replication. WLS
supports EJB, RMI Objects, JMS (6.0) clustering.. check the doc at

What is the difference between cluster patch and bundle patch
hi every one
can any one please tell me the difference between cluster patch and bundle patch ... for what purpose we apply cluster patch and bundled patchThere is no inherent difference between a patch cluster and a patch bundle that I am aware of.
Its just a name for collections of patches.
For whatever reason, the regular collections of recommended patches that sun puts out happen to be referred to as the recommended patch cluster.
The "all patches to bring you up to 5/08" that sun is putting out happens to be being called the 5/08 patch bundle.
I don't think they meant anything by the distinction. But thats the first time the term "patch bundle" has been used that I'm aware of.
So maybe there is some new patch delivery/installation technology implied. But I doubt it. -
What is the difference between Grid computing and Cluster ?
Heh Friends
What is the difference between Grid computing and Cluster ?
/sumitYou
can't easily switch a server from being a database
server into an application server when the load on
your system changes.
That's only because you didn't architect your grid that way. :P
(Mine doesn't do that either)
>
I guess people use the bits of the definitions that
support their marketing claims :)
Isn't that the truth!
Oracle marketing speaks of grid as a concept with their technologies enabling the grid. Other companys offer products that turn computers into (their defintion of) a grid - Sun's Grid Engine, Avaki's Grid, and Platform's LSF come to mind.
Gotta love the marketing folks; especially at Oracle. It seems to me that when a product doesn't succeed, they tend to rebrand and reintroduce.

Hi
As I will be planning to setup Lync on a virtual environment regardless if it is going to be the Standard or Enterprise edition.
I am thinking if we use 1 Lync Standard Edition for the FE Server with Fault Tolerance enabled, would it be as good as having 2 Lync Enterprise Edition in a cluster?
ThanksHi there,
the main difference between using Lync enterprise and lync standard is the High availability and scalability feature,
you will get fault tolrance setup with one lync standard edition running on whatever hyper-v and vmware platform, however this will not be an optimum highly available solution for the simple reason that upon a host server failure the image will move
to another available host server and users will lose their active session durin the move process.
on the other hand what you will gain if you the Enterprise edition is that you will have a unique identity to which all lync clients will be connecting and this identity is the lync pool identity which is in the background handled with multiple Front-End
servers and AV conferencing pools, mediation pools and so on.
In additioin when you have multiple front-ends in place, those front-ends will not work in active/passive mode as in a regular cluster, in contrairy all the servers will be active and handeling the work load.
hope i make it a bit clear, if yiu need more info i am ready

Thanks for the response, being a small environment of 300 users, standard edition would be more than enough for me but the fact for HA is very critical for me at this stage. That is why I am exploring the option of using VMware FT.
I don't quick get what you mean on the users having to move to another image as my understanding of FT is in the event of a host failure (not VM failure like bluescreen etc), the VM will fail over to another host with no lost in any ping etc.
So, in theory, the Lync Server VM would never know that the parent ESX host had failed and it needed to failover to another host. Hope my understanding is correct.

What is the differences between Transparent,Pooled and Cluster tables?
Hello all,
What is Pool table? What is the differences between Transparent,Pooled and Cluster tables?
Regards!
PurnaTransparent table:
Tables can be defined independently of the database in the ABAP Dictionary. The fields of the table are defined together with their (database-independent) data types and lengths.
A table definition in the ABAP Dictionary has the following components:
Table fields: The field names and the data types of the fields contained in the table are defined here.
Foreign keys: The foreign keys define the relationships between this table and other tables.
Technical settings: The technical settings define how the table is created on the database.
Indexes: Indexes can be defined for the table to speed up data selection from the table.
There are three categories of database tables in the ABAP Dictionary.
A physical table definition is created in the database for the table definition stored in the ABAP Dictionary for transparent tables when the table is activated. The table definition is translated from the ABAP Dictionary to a definition of the particular database.
On the other hand, pooled tables and cluster tables are not created in the database. The data of these tables is stored in the corresponding table pool or table cluster. It is not necessary to create indexes and technical settings for pooled and cluster tables.
Pooled table
Pooled tables can be used to store control data (e.g. screen sequences, program parameters or temporary data). Several pooled tables can be combined to form a table pool. The table pool corresponds to a physical table on the database in which all the records of the allocated pooled tables are stored.
Cluster table
Cluster tables contain continuous text, for example, documentation. Several cluster tables can be combined to form a table cluster. Several logical lines of different tables are combined to form a physical record in this table type. This permits object-by-object storage or object-by-object access. In order to combine tables in clusters, at least parts of the keys must agree. Several cluster tables are stored in one corresponding table on the database.

Is there any difference between these cluster images when creating a user event?
I'm sure you experts will know instantly what I'm doing wrong.
I am trying to create a user message for TestStand communication in the LabVIEW UI (based on the simple example OI that comes with TestStand)
Perhaps it's just cosmetic but the trouble is I can't get the image of my cluster constant to look the same as the one in the example.
I'm right clicking on the 'Create User Event' icon on the User Event Data Type connection and selecting Cluster - Cluster Constant, then adding a numeric constant to it.
You can see the result here. The top one is the good one from the example, and the bottom one is my attempt - but I just can't get it.
I'd appreciate your thoughts (I know the event number can't be the same - but I made it the same for the comparison). I have LabView 8.6.1.
Thanks,
Ronnie
TestStand 4.2.1, LabVIEW 2009, LabWindows/CVI 2009
Solved!
Go to Solution.Use the color tool and right click on the lable of the numeric. I guess you will see that the Background Color of the one is black, of the other is white.
But this is really just cosmetic's of the code.

BI publishing report issue on HP-UX cluster
Dear All,
I have a problem about BW publish report .
Our customer has three BI systems (PRD, QAS, DEV) and three BOE system (XIR3.1).
Those systems are installed on HP-UX.
BOE QAS and DEV system used Tomcat, BOE PRD system deployed on SAP WAS.
SAP QAS and DEV system can publish crystal report to each BOE system.
But SAP PRD can not publish with error

I test RFC connection with SM59 and test RFC destinations in /crystal/rptadm successfully.
I also compared the RFC settings and User role between SAP DEV system and PRD system. But I did not any find difference.
This role had been imported in to BOE system and the SAP user has administrator rights .
Is there anyone can give me some advice for next step?
Thanks in advance!
WayneHi Ingo,
- are you using the BW publishing service or the SAP gateway ?
Customer used BW publishing service.
- does SM59 work properly ?
Yes, SM59 works well.
- did you create a trace file for the publishing already ? If not - create it and attach it do the forum.
I am not sure which trace do I need. Could you tell me the details?
Thanks a lot!
