A/B tests are great - but what aspect is more important?

What aspects of a MKL you test most? Or, in other words, what is the most questioned question?
Is it the Subject line? Or maybe appearance? Sending time, your signature, addressing or something else?
I am asking mainly because the question of what we "could have done bettre" is always asked.
I read in https://blog.mailchimp.com/ab-testing-in-mailchimp-7-years-of-successful-experiments/ that the author tested the subject lines mostly, but I don't know if a good subject line is the selling trigger in a MKL.
What do you say? What do you think is the most important and what do test the most?

A PPC G5 cannot run any version of OS X beyond Leopard 10.5.8.
You should be able to find a Leopard retail (black) install disk on eBay. A grey update disk is machine specific and won't work.

Newbie: Datagrid = great, but what about textual presentations?

I am a php hack, now learning Flex. I can create datagrid presentations of my SQL data in a snap... fast and wonderful CRUD interface in an instant. Datagrid = great.
But what is the proper way of presenting and formatting data in a more textual context? Imagine a list of book titles presented with brief text story abstracts, generated from the database (and available to the MXML app as a php-generated XML file, of course). Each would be shown one after another with links to more content...
So what is the proper data container to use for text-intensive presentations... maybe even including images and CDATA?

Any particular DataGrid column can have its own itemRenderer, and if you use something like TextArea you could populate the htmlText property.
htmlText property is not without its problems, such as data in a CDATA block might not render perfectly and might need to be massaged.

Apple TV is great but what about the content?

So I went to the Apple Store today ready with cash in hand from my tax refund to buy an Apple TV. However, I was sadly surprised by the content loaded on the Apple TV. Both the movies clips and tv shows clips were grainy and poor quality. So much so that I was really debating buying it.
When speaking with one store rep, he stated that the clips were representative of the content available on iTunes yet de didn't know how to navigate thru Apple TV's menu nor did he know what the difference between 480P and 720P were.
Anyways, after speaking with another rep, I did buy it and I think it is great. Some on my stuff in 720P looks unbelieveable as does the movie trailers available thru Apple TV. Some of the free episodes I have downloaded from iTunes look good as well.
Can somebody tell me how shows like BattleStar Galactica look when purchased from iTunes?

I agree that picture quality of iTunes content is not quite there yet imho. I have a 61" DLP, and bought an episode of remastered Start Trek as a test, and it looked pretty good. But for now, holding off on movies and HD shows until they are available in HD (I record current HD shows on an HD Tivo anyway.)
I will say that I am VERY impressed with the picture quality of the interface, photos and the album covers. The type is much cleaner/easier to read than even my Tivo Series 3 HD menu. And i love being able to control iTunes from the family room (I have an Airport Express and could stream iTunes music to my family room - but no way to see what was playing. And on my Tivo, I could stream music and see what was playing - but couldn't play content from iTunes store. So Apple TV is a great addition to my family room.)
I figure this is just the first step, and as early adapters we just have to be patient 'til all iTunes movies and tv shows are available in HD.
One feature I DO wish we had now was the ability to use album covers from streaming music (not just synced music) as a screensaver. I'm not syncing music - only video, since streaming works so nicely.

Airtunes - great, but what about other sound output?

We have 5 different Macs in the house, and I love being able to broadcast iTunes to our main speakers from each machine, BUT, is there a way to send ALL audio through the AE? My son uses QT a lot, plus web browsing sound, etc. I've checked system prefs, but haven't seen anything. Can anyone help? Thanks!

It will send all your audio but the syncing between audio and video needs work. Something about a buffer in the AE. It does let you send what ever audio you want though.

Macbooks are great but

these macbooks are real nice, i just bought an ibook 2 weeks ago and all i use it for is internet surfing email instant messanger and some other apps such as word and what not. so im pretty happy with it. i wonder what will be the macbook upgrade i cant even imagine how amazing they will be. just a little thing to think about

It's not quite that simple. If you customized anything when you ordered from the online Apple store, like adding RAM or a bigger hard drive, you cannot return the computer at all. So, you shouldn't tell someone they can still return it without asking about that first. Also, if they didn't buy it directly from Apple the place they purchased it may have different policies...

For example, would it be so difficult to allow us to turn off the wallpaper?
Or per my other thread, how about making it so it doesn't show us every email account twice? Once is enough, no?
Seriously, do Apple development teams not think about these things before pushing them out? I know Apple is used to it's sycophants, but not everyone likes the same things or works in the same way.

I love my iPad. The whole family uses it.
I would love to be able to pin protect any app I choose on my iPad. My nine year old daughter uses my iPad regularly and I would love to be able to prevent her from using any app I choose. HBO Go is awesome, but I don't want her to be able to use it. Same with mail and netflix and many others.
Please, please please let us pin protect apps on the iPad!
It would be awesome if they implement this.

Notifications are great, but it needs an optional delete

I like the notificatification option in OS 10.8, but I would love the option to delete the email when the alert posts. Is this available?

Try changing your Mail Notification setting in System Preferences from Alerts to Banners. They appear for a while, then fade away.
Optionally, I have all three check boxes and 5 Recent Items selected.
With these settings, I do not need to purposely delete mail related messages in the side Notification panel.

My audio levels are too low, what can I do about this?

I'm recording my voice, and using an external mic.
I plan on rerecording once all edits are done, but what can I do about this? I''m as close to the mic as possible. Whats my issue!?

Check the Audio settings in Captivate. You may need to increase the gain value.

from dualAs you can see that, the sql calculate a field value from another views (view1, view2, view3, view4).
It return the difference between 2 years.
In this sql, you can see it will request the views for 2x4=8 times to get the result table.
Each sql (select statement) query return a result within 5 seconds, so...for total = 8X5=40secs...
40 secs is not so big problem...but in fact, I have at least 5 sets queries (select statements) with other parameters are not input for calculation from this query........
It is a huge amount of time consuming in resulting SQL: (8X5secs) x 5 sets = 200secs.....
I would like to know is there any better solution if we face this kind of problems??

(Ps on iMac 20 inch (it's almost full - 320 GB) when I enter time machine, a tab comes up on finder which reads "Time Machine backups" it's able to be ejected like a disc or a connected device. On the iMac 20 inch, I dragged some files onto there as if using it like a hard drive. Is this the correct method? Then I went to my 27inch iMac and saw the "Time Machine Backups" hoping to see the files I dragged from the 20inch iMac. But the files were not there except a folder that said "Backups.backupdb". Can someone help me?

It's not a good idea to use a network disk for both Time Machine backups and other things. By design Time Machine will eventually consume all the space on its output disk, which will then cause problem for your other files. I'd store those other files on an external disk connected to the Time Capsule. The problem with that is that Time Machine will only back up files that are local to your Mac. That means that you'll only have one copy of the files on or attached to your Time Capsule.
By the way, you've been misled by poor field labeling on this forum into typing a large part of your message into the field intended for the subject. In the future just type a short summary of your post into that field and type the whole message into the field below that.

There is almost no chance it can be recovered, except at a cost far greater than a new keyboard. Once wet, spraying with a cleaner will not do any good and most likely will make the situation worse.
Best thing at this point is go to your Apple store, or the on-line store, and buy a new keyboard. Water damage is not covered by the warranty or AppleCare.

I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.

WHAT ABOUT LEAVING PASTED CLIPS SELECTED after a Paste operation in the Timeline?!? Like every other app in the world?
What about leaving a complex selection of clips intact after an UNDO operation? (This costs me hundreds of minutes a week.) Like every other app in the world?
What about allowing "." as an abbreviation for "00" when entering timecode?
What about letting the renaming of a clip in a bin be reflected in timelines?
What about a "reduce project" option? (To remove all items not used by selected sequences, like Ae.)
What about actually useful clip labels (colors) which link between timeline items and their respective clips in the bin? (Like Avid & FCP) So we can mark certain clips a certain color in a bin and have that color be reflected in timelines?
What about being able to close the title tool with a shortcut, not just a tiny 4x4 button?
What about fixing the title tool so it's kerning/leading shortcuts are NOT the exact opposite of EVERY OTHER CC application?
What about a simple "Select Media Relatives" command, like in FCP and Avid?
What about fixing the audio scrub toggle shortcut so that it works without having to play or use the mouse?
What about a shortcut for "Reveal in Finder" from the Timeline? It's in the context menu -- why no shortcut?

I am curious about the time you waste ...and wonder what and why you are doing it... that causes this loss of efficiency.

Depending on the configuration of the computer hardware and software
you may need to consider upgrade the RAM by installing more capacity.
Also, in the same vane, choose to consider upgrade the hard drive to
one of faster transfer, such as SSD, hybrid, or fusion; if not already at
least 7200-RPM and not too full of saved content.
Since no information is given about the model build configuration of Mac
there may be other suggestions to make it work better. Usually an OS X
upgrade requires one to look at the hardware resources available to it.
The OS X works best with more memory: new higher capacity chips.
This may be possible, and they should be high quality from reputable
vender who has tested them on Apple in OS X, such as OWC or Crucial.
