People Recognition - stops working

Hi,
I have this problem with PSE8 bugging me. I have been dealing with support but no success to date. The People Recognition started working perfectly for me. You select a group of photos - start the recognitions & it would find for example 30 photos of me & suggest they are me - you just accept that whole screen then it gives another screen of me or someone else.
However after tagging for a while it stopped recognising me (& my wife & son, etc). Seems that once a person is 'auto recognised' about 100-200 times then it stops. So now any photos of me when I enter the People Recognition it finds the face OK but does not recognise it as me. So I therefore have to type in my name on every photo.
Now if those first tags of me were called say "Adam". If I now recognise some of the new ones as "AdamF" then it merely goes on auto recognising in batches again under this new tag for another 100 or so photos. Problem then is no easy way to combine them + it should just work without having to do this.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas?
Things I have tried.
* New install on different PC - same issue
* New catalog on same PC - same issue

Yeh Adobe don't beleive me either - they have stopped replying to my job on the issue - with no resolution or acceptance of the problem.
The other unfortunate thing is that the only possible work around don't work . We thought by giving a person a new name "Adam 2" would mean you could quickly tag another 200 or so (which you can) & then combine the tags. This is where to problem lies though. When you move the photos from Adam 2 into Adam all it does is tag the 'photo' with Adam not the face. So when you then delete 'Adam 2' you end up with all the photos of Adam in the Adam folder OK - but these new ones are not tagged by the face - just photo tagged (if that makes sense).
So no solution, no patch & no workaround at all possible (other than name them 1 by 1 which is not what I spent my $$$ on).
Disappointing that this was the 'big sell' for PSE8 (in my view) & it is a big flop for anyone with more than a few hundred photos in total.

IOS6 is complete failure in INDIA,Pune.

1. DO NOT DISTURB is pathetic as people will hear a small ringing before getting busy tone.
So finally its gone spoil your relation to the person directly, far better is working in Samsung galaxy SIII.
2. Passbook gives error can't connect to iTunes.
3. App store - Gives error can't connect to app store.
4. Maps - Doesn't work in navigation mode gives error "directions not available" "directions could not be found between these locations"..
So the whole idea is IOS6 is big flop show...
What they tested after keep on posting ads like IOS6 coming this fall...now I got they want to say its gone to be big fall actualy " Ha Ha Ha".

You know Siri has got every other third language but not hindi so INDIANs are still backward in every sense....

Pearl 8110 will not sync with Outlook Calendar

I have a Blackberry Pearl 8110, and I upgraded the Desktop Manager, then it quit syncing with outlook calendar. It does sync with noes, memos, addresses, but no calendar. when the sync is getting to the calendar it says "please wait" then just kicks me out. No error message in the log, nothing. I even retrograded back to 4.7.0.17, but no changed. Here is what else I have:

Blackberry 4.5.0 System Software Properties
Blackberry MDS runtime Properties 4.5.0.20
The calendar is the big thing for me. Any Ideas??

I just wanted to let you know that I'm having the same problem with my 8120 and it started on the 18th. I spent 3 hours, 39 minutes, and 42 seconds on the phone with BB support yesterday with no luck and we tried every trick they could think of. I'll certainly let you know if I find any information since I too can't live without my calendar.

Trouble sending files via bluetooth from my powerbook to Blackberry Pearl

I didn't know who else to check first. So I'm taking a chance here. Over the weekend I made the big step of purchasing a Blackberry Pearl 8100. I was looking forward to trying the bluetooth feature. So I paired my phone with my Powerbook G4. Everything good there. I did a test by sending a photo from the phone to the computer. No problem there. Then I wanted to send a backdrop from my pb to my Blackberry. Problem: the computer displays" Device does not have the necessary services." I'm trying to figure out if this a Blackberry or an apple problem. At this point I'm stumped. Before I check with Blackberry I would love to find out if anyone who has a Blackberry Pearl is or had this problem.

8220 Pearl Smart? Phone Major Device Issue

Ok, my turn... Here's my request for assistance then...
Blackberry 8220 Pearl Flip. Y'all know the story... the (expletitive of your choice) thing keeps shutting off then takes it's sweet time turning back on. Does this in the middle of calls, in the middle of sending text, in the middle of doing it's most useful job - as a paperweight.
It even does this if I shut off cell myself... A few minutes later I will look over and see it going through that startup sequence that takes about 5 minutes.
I have tried EVERYTHING on this forum. I spent about 6 hours reading and trying everything. Updated software - made it reset more often. Tried the business card between battery and cover, no help. Tried wiping the phone, no help. Tried leaving memory card out, no help. Thought of throwing it out of my truck at 80 mph, *probably* wouldnt help. Tried everything. No help no help no help.
HELP!!!
Auto on/off is disabled
Software update seems to be default answer on here... Kinda like Pilot Error anytime there's a plane-crash.
Battery drains completely in about 5 hours from resetting so much. Tried new battery. Drains just as quick.
Tried new SIM - no help
I realize this forum is staffed by volunteers - big surprise to me I must admit... But what can be done? Obviously by now, RIM must be aware of this problem... If they were into any kind of customer service, they'd offer a solution by now - replacement? Cheaper upgrade to phone that actually works? SOME kind of exchange or recall program?
I got my 8220 as a gift, so no receipts... Does this mean I'm screwed?
Provider is Rogers Canada and they are pretty much as useless as my 8220 right now, so please dont suggest going to provider - I have done that too. All they suggest is update software even when you tell them you just did 30 minutes previously. Plus, Rogers employees are definitely not the smartest peanut in the third. Paraphrasing here
I work for AT&T Customer Care and Tech Support, so I'm not a complete idgit when it comes to troubleshooting... I even tried the troubleshooting that is on my computer here. No help. Actually, the 8220 isn't listen in our computers.
I agree, there should be less bitching in the forums, understandable we are frustrated, but there should also be solutions. This is not a slam against the volunteers cuz I can see you guys are trying... But this many people complaining about the same problem, shouldnt that be a wake-up call for RIM???
So, after trying everything listen in the forums here, what else is there to try??? I am willing to try just about anything...

There are some great people on this forum but because the 8220 is a LEMON it cannot be fixed. You would think out of the countless web sites that have 8220 talked about as defective that this offical blackberry site could help. The worst thing is that they still sell these phones every day wthout any warning. We reading this have a computer and internet access. What if someone cannot try the installing OS **bleep** the carriers tell you. How many people cannot call their carrier because their phone don't work. How about an emergency call that needs to be made. RIM looks like it pumps a new model phone out every month, so nice of them!

Have a Pearl but not sure if I love it... Should I get the Curve?

Hi everyone! I've got a dilemma I was wondering if anyone could help me out with. Two weeks ago I bought my very first Smart Phone - a pink Blackberry Pearl 8130. There are SO many things I really do love about this phone, such as the size of the phone overall. It fits perfectly in my hand while holding it to talk, text, etc., and also while just carrying it. It isn't big and bulky. I actually love SureType. It makes texting and IMing quicker for me, though it can take extra time when it doesn't choose the word you're trying to type but I always used T9 before so I'm used to dealing with that. I've even gotten pretty used to the strange layout of the keys, and I'm sure I'd only get better with it as time went on so that's not a problem either. The main problem I'm facing is that the keys are just too close together. While I know where each letter or number key is, a lot of the time I end up hitting the wrong button because they're so small and close. I'm a very small person and have very tiny fingers and I still struggle with it. I don't know how the men out there use these phones!! I also love the color of this one... I'm not usually into the typical black or grey or silver phones. The pink is great.
I have 30 days (now 18) to return the phone and exchange for a different one if I'm not liking mine. My sister and niece just got the Curve 8330 and they really love them. I'm trying to decide whether or not I should exchange mine for the Curve. The thing is, I'm not really all that great with the full QWERTY keyboard. I don't think my texting would necessarily go any faster with it, but I'm sure it'd be a whole lot more accurate! And of course I wouldn't mind having the bigger screen. I'm just a little wary because it's a bigger phone. I'm afraid I wouldn't like it for that reason.
So basically I'm just wondering if anyone out there has had the Pearl and the Curve and can compare? Has anyone been in my situation and found they like the Curve better?

Thanks so much for your reply! You've definitely got me leaning more toward the Curve now. I'm sooooo bummed out that our Alltel doesn't have the pink Curve. They're in the process of switching over to Verizon but said it'll be around late summer before they really start getting their phones in. All I have to choose from is red and black! If they had the silver one, I'd go for that even. But as you mentioned, you can buy all sorts of skins and covers for them so I guess I can always give that a try! If they'd had the pink Curve I would have exchanged in a heartbeat! haha I'm such a girl sometimes.
I really do a lot of emailing, texting, IMing, etc., so the Curve may be better for me. My last phone was a Scoop (though I only had it for a few months because it was a replacement phone) and toward the end, I started to get used to the full QWERTY keyboard more. I really like that the Curve has buttons that you can really depress... Not just the flat keys that you can't even really feel as you're pushing!

Sorry Mozilla, but Firefox 4 sucks big time. I uninstalled and downloaded 3.6.17. I've turned off automatic updates. V4 breaks JQuery and who knows what else, so I'll be a lifelong customer of my v3.6.17 version, coz I'm just not going to have established, clean, awesome code killed by the browser! Only I build web apps so I've got to get all my clients to stop upgrading, too. I've been a Firefox guy for years now, but this is the end of my rope. Chrome is pretty good, as is Safari. I guess one of these is going to be my browser going forward.

I got back from Firefox 9 to my older 3.6.8 version. Despite of the really ugly new look there are silly annoyances like the trasposed right click pop up menu "open in new window - open in new tab" I cant tell you how many times ive right clicked and hit open in new window instead of open in new tab
However, the great flop are the disabled add-ons I was accustomed to (PoxySel and Auto shut down among others )
Many years ago I choose Firefox because the add-ons power but if you take them off and destroy the UI I was comfortable with you are inviting me to try ANY other new browser...like the so-talked Chrome.
Seriously, you should be careful with retro-compatibility. At least, give the user the chance to keep the old look, layout and utilities.

Pearl 9105 - Unable to connect to BIS

Dear all,
I have big troubles with my Pearl 9105.
I used it with H3G Italy operator, and now switched to Vodafone Italy.
I can connect to the Internet via the browser, but I cannot configure/receive emails or use the app world applications.
I wiped the phone and installed the latest Vodafone Italy firmware (using BBSAK), but nothing changed.
I cannot configure email from the device; from the Vodafone internet site (http://mobileemail.vodafone.it/), I configured my email account, but nothing happened on my phone.
Of course, the Blackberry option is activated by Vodafone.
The old operator (H3G Italy) already deleted my account.
This is driving me crazy. Someone can help me?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Batt Pull Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

Better music player for pearl? & app sites

is there a better and free music player for the pearl than the one that comes installed? theres really nothing wrong with it, but would be nice to have options, like an equalizer for instance! also while im at it, Im new to the BB scene. would someone mind posting a couple websites that offers free and decently priced apps/games? Im not a big fan of just googling stuff like that, Id prefer word of mouth sites from ppl that have used them and are reliable. thanx!

Well. I bought the BB Pearl 3180 yesterday. And already thinking about bringing it back.
For one. The main reason I wanted this was because I have videos of my daughter on my laptop that I wanted to put on my phone. Well... After spending a nasty 14 hours trying to get it working, I give up
That Roxio Meida Manager is junk!!!! It won't even install off the disk or when I download it. It just hangs on the install at "gathering required information" Will not go past that.
Also. Not big fan of the keyboard layout. I just can't seem to get the hang of it.
Also. Not a big fan of how when you set your email up and recieve a new message it shows up in both text message folder and email folder. and vise virsa, text messages and email messages show up in both folders.
Also. Not a big fan of how, when you have a missed call. Nothing pops up on the screen except a little tiny 1 at the top of the screen.

Also. Not a big fan of when you go into a menu then hit the end key to go to your homepage. Then back into a menu that you were already into and have to hit the back button to go back to the main page on that menu (read it again, it will make sense lol)

I'm sure in time I will come to figure all of this out. But for now. How can I get videos on my Pearl? I have spent hours and hours, trying converters after converters. I even tried that command line one and all I keep getting is some error about a font?.

I just bought blackberry pearl and i have spent hours and hours for help. I don't know how to use it as a modem for one thing.Alltel said just install the disk. Right. So far there is nothing to like . Wish I could get my money back

Design flaw in blackberry pearl 8220 audio (voice) - does every phone shipped have this problem?

have a new blackberry 8820 pearl that I am happy with.
The phone does have one big problem. hearing a person over the phone (i.e.. The top speaker embedded in the flip not the microphone in the phone case proper).
When someone raises their voice a little during conversation the phone distorts the incoming audio (it makes a tinny sound like when a speaker distorts when it is overloaded and yes I am using default volume and have tried it on all volume levels... The phone speaker still distorts incoming voice).
Also called a few numbers and got several people's voicemail announcement... Because people raise their voice just a little bit when they put in their voice mail announcement the phone always distorts the voicemail greeting.
Moved my sim card to a Motorola razor v8. everything is crystal clear hearing and speaking. your blackberry pearl flip has a hardware or firmware design flaw... It distorts incoming conversation based on how the person is speaking not just when they are talking with a strong clear voice... But when the incoming speech volume is raised slightly!.
I asked tmobile to send me a new phone. they did and the new phone does the same thing (i.e.. The handset speaker). the speaker phone function works just fine and does not distort conversation.
Is this a problem with a certain production run on the phone or does it happen with every blackberry pearl flip 8220?
since the Motorola razor works fine under the same conditions with <no> distortion figured it may be design flaw going to production on the phone. But thought I would ask anyway.. In case this problem has been solved by development in-house.
Please pass this message to engineering and the product line manager responsible for the blackberry flip 8220. I know if I was a product manager I wouldn't want to go to market with a phone that distorts audio. you guys should have checked the competition (Motorola and other windows CE phones to make sure the audio on the blackberry pearl is as good or better than the competition).
Hope this helps. please pass this forward and see what engineering and product management says. if its a general design flaw it would be good to know. just wanted my new blackberry (which I like) to work just as good as my Motorola razor. both are good phones but the audio handset speaker distortion is somewhat of a pain.

HT1420 HOW do i get Apple to understand that i have a big family and my kids do not have credit cards or their own apple id so i have more than 5 computers?

$2000 on the new iPhone 5 for myself and my wife, we sitll use the other iphone4's that we have with other numbers and as we have a big family we have 7 computers that all need to work with itunes. We also have 5 ipads and i was thinking of getting another one but because of this problem the two new iphones and my macbook pro are usles devices when it comes to music and syncing is impossable... My kids do not have there own apple id as it needs a credit card, which they do NOT have. They are kids. so how can i get iTunes to allow me to get more computers online. I just bought an new/ refurbushed 17" mackbookpro as my old one was dropped and still works but do not want to take a chance for my work... anyway iTunes will not let me use this computer with iTunes either... AAAHHHHH I do not want to authorize and de-authorize computers as i use them and it looks like that is not possible anyway based on their statment that htis can only be done twice a year... The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ...
