A blue highlighted line in Finder...

I have at least one application that is "highlighted" in blue in Finder. If it matters, its "StarPlayr". Is this a feature of Finder/OS X or something built into this application that causes Finder to highlight it?

Hi Macaby,
I think what you're seeing might be a colour-label. It probably came pre-labelled when you installed it, i.e. dragged and dropped. If you right/ctrl+click on the application, or on any file/folder for that matter, you'll be able to change its colour-label.

    Hi jkjuarez2012,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your iPod nano is only showing the Apple logo with a white background, and you've tried many good steps including resetting and restoring the device. I know I'd miss my music in this situation.
Make sure that you followed the steps in this article when restoring your iPod:

  • How to remove the Blue Fuzzy Line in Spry Collapsible Panels

Do anyone know exactly how to remove the blue fuzzy line that appears when a tab is focussed on in the Collapsible Panels feature?
I heard there was some code that could be implemented into one of the style sheets which could solve this but I am yet to find a solution
    Thanks

    .CollapsiblePanelTab { outline:none; }
    Try that.

This happens no matter where I am browsing, yahoo, google, mail or news. Clearing the console seems to help with the speed of FF after an hour or so of browsing, it slows down terribly and if not cleared and or shut down and relaunching FF, both actually, it is painfully slow, like dial-up.

  • How to disable the blue highlight boxes around links?

I've created a document in InDesign CS5, and when viewed on Adobe Reader 10.2 (on an iPad) all the table of contents links within the document, and all links to external websites have a blue highlight field around them. While I appreciate the fact that it makes it obvious where links are, it looks remarkably ugly to have huge blue highlights all over the document. There must be a way to turn these highlights off, right? Either from the source document within InDesign before the PDF is created, or from within Adobe Reader or Acrobat after the PDF is made? I have all the links within InDesign set to "Invisible Rectangle", and it looks great when viewed on older versions of Adobe Reader or in iBooks. Unfortunately, older versions of Adobe Reader don't support hyperlinks on tablets. So somebody using Reader 10.2, however, is now forced to view this document with ugly blue highlights. Is the only option to avoid the highlights to recommend everyone use iBooks to view the document, or is there a way in Reader 10.2 to disable these?

Thanks, but I already have all the hyperlinks set to "Invisible Rectangle", and there are still blue highlight fields around the links in Reader 10.2. If I view the PDF in other programs (iBooks, older versions of Reader) the links appear without the blue highlights. All the research I've done on this seems to point to the blue highlight fields being a "feature" of Reader 10.2, but I can't imagine that Adobe would create a feature with such a visual impact on documents without offering the option to turn that feature off? In a lot of print, online, and interactive docs both text and images are used as links (icons, buttons, etc) and having an automatic blue highlight around them really takes away from the visual impact that graphics provide. There must be an option somewhere to disable or turn these off, but I haven't been able to find it yet. Any other suggestions/ideas?

  • Audio keyframe levels affected by automatically added blue level lines on CS6

    Hi,
I seem to have selected something that has caused blue level lines that dip/rise the audio levels on my audio clips whenever I add a keyframe to the audio (see screenshot below).
Pretty sure I have accidentally clicked on something but I can't find any similar questions on these forums. I desperately want to turn these off, please help :-)

  • Horizontal Blue/White lines

I have read lots about Vertical lines on G5s but little about my newly discovered problem
I have a G5 fully updated 10.5.6- 1.9 GHz 1.5 GB mem. Horizontal Blue/White lines have appeared in columns about 25mm wide, all over the screen.
As I type they seem to go all fuzzy and change to a darker blue - I find this very distracting but so far I am able to use my machine with not too much difficulty, except that the fault doesn't help when I need to use my Photoshop software, inasmuch that the blue/white lines seem to dominate the background of the photos.
    Has anyone got any ideas?

    Same problem, different orientation.
This happens if your inverter cable gets damaged, or your inverter board gets shorted. Take it in for service.

  • Blue squre line in the middle of my screan

i do have a blue squre line in the middle of my screan when i turn my mac pro on today can some one please tell me what is going on and how to can fix it thank you.

this is one of those "oh crud" moments. shut your mac down, do an SMC reset (remove power cord, wait about 30 seconds)put power cord back and reboot. you could try repairing disk permissions, but by all indications it's probably your graphics card. I'm assuming your monitor was okay before, and this is a recent problem, as in, it just happened. what graphics card do you have? you can find this out under About this mac, then more info
if it's an ATI X2600 or 1900, those are known for clogging up with crud, and using some compressed air after your Mac Pro has been shut down and side panel removed may fix the problem. ifl however you don't have one of these, then your graphics card is history.  I am assuming here that you have a Mac pro, eg the tower, and not a Macbook Pro (the portable). The only fix is to go out and get a new graphics card. I don't know what version of Mac Pro you have (1,1--2,1--3,1--4,1--5,1) or anything else, other than the symptoms you have mentioned here
Currently, the ATI 5770 is around $250 and shouldn't be too hard to install. As to why it happens, I don't know.
My graphics card went one day, and I took it in to my local Apple store to be fixed. In hindsight,  I should have just gone out and gotten a new Mac-Pro friendly graphics card myself.  Lesson remembered
if you do, however, have a Macbook pro, then you'll have to take it in. Period

  • Strange Blue Vertical Lines All Over Anything that White on the Screen

My screen always showed blue vertical lines on anything that is white on my Macbook Pro screen, but when I moved the screen back and forth a few times the blue lines just gone. It always happens when I took the Macbook Pro from a bag and waked it up and once and a while during normal usage. I took picture when the blue lines happen but I couldn't post it on the forum.
I sent my Macbook Pro to local Apple Center but they couldn't find the problem. They has checked the screen connector for me but the problem still exist.
Anyone, any idea what causing this?

Don't get me wrong and I don't think anyone like to have dead pixel, do you?
I understand the LCD screen could come with dead pixel. I can live with a few dead pixels and I have no problem except any dead pixel from USAGE. With the new notebook or LCD screen I have a choice to check for the dead pixel and other false before I take any of them back home and if there any dead pixel happen after I am start using them I can accept it.
The thing that difficult for me to accept is the replaced LCD came with the dead pixel (my previous screen didn't have any dead pixel) and I don't have any other choice but to accept it. I feel like I have been forced to accept it.
My perception on Apple product quality still good. I will continue buy Apple product. But I disappoint in Apple service policy (not quality as I mention before, sorry) because I expect they would be better or different from others.
ps. They changed my screen because they don't have a replacement only for screen cable so they replace the whole screen.

  • Laserjet 2605dn color printing problem, Blue/green line on page.

I have an HP color laserjet 2605dn that has started to print a faint, thin  blue/green line from top to bottom about 3 inches in from the entire right edge of every page. I ran the cleaning cycle with no change. Any suggestions on how to correct this?

I have very similar problem on my 2600n which is printing 2 vertical green lines very close together about 1.5 inches from left edge. All toners are in supply override mode with black toner reading: Estimated Pages Remaining 0
Color cartridges contain toner with 329 pp remaining according to supply status page.
Is this problem likely to disappear when toner cartridge(s) are replaced?

Hello, I downloaded an ntfs systemfile from tuxera and used it to convert a usb stick so I could put more than the fat32 4gb on, my Imac froze a while after so I turned it off the on and now I have blue vertical lines on boot up and the a white screen with lots of tine blue symbols after, mouse pointer moves but thats about it.
Have used R and cmd to get a menu up but once I choose one of the four options my mouse is rendered useless and I cant get any further, have downloaded, to another usb stick recovery disk assisstant and am trying to use that in conjunction with the lion option on the previously mentioned screen, computer was responding really slowly and has now frozen on the terms of software license agreement (maybe the last hurdle!) can anyone pleeeeeease help!!!!!??????

It's likely that the boot drive is failing, or that there's some other hardware fault. Run the Apple Hardware Test.
Intel-based Macs: Using Apple Hardware Test
Even if the test is negative, you should make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested more thoroughly.

  • Blue thin line on the lower left iMac G4 Flat Panel

Hi, since yesterday there is a blue thin line (0,039 inches (1 mm) thin; 35 inches (9 cm) long on the panel of my iMac G4 Flat Panel. It looks like drawing with a ruler, so straight and so fine.
The line is on the left lower corner in a vertical position. At first I thought these are dead pixels, but I checked this. No dead pixels. I have changed the desktop picture etc., but it`s all the same. I run the apple hardware-test cd - no problems found. Is there someone with any idea? Is it possible to have a damaged graphics- chip although the hardware-test is o.k.?
Does it make sense to open the iMac and look for dust and dirt on the motherboard?
Thank you for any help, Matse

What happens if you change the
display resolution? (Apple Menu > System
    Preferences... > Displays > Display tab >
Resolutions) If the line stays in exactly the same
place despite the resolution change this points to an
LCD rather than graphics card issue.
    mrtotes
thank you Adam for that hint. The line stays exactly in the same place. That means it is an LCD issue? That´s your opinion? Do you have any idea if it is possible to repair it, or is the only possibility to change the panel?
    Thank you, Matse
