A box pops up and says the url is not valid and will not open. What do I do?

I'm trying to enter the billpayer section of my credit union website and a box pops up saying the url is not valid and will not open. What do I do?

  • I recently set up multiple accounts and when I was trying to figure out how to share files I messed up something in my documents. Everytime I open a doc from the ADMIN account, a box pops up that says "The file is not in the correct format" how to fix?

I recently set up multiple accounts on my imac, When I was trying to figure out how to share the documents I must have done something wrong. When logged into the Admin account, I open up any document and I get a message box that says, "The Document could not be opened. The file isn't in the correct format. The file might be corrupted, truncated, or in an unexpected format." What did I do and how do I fix it?

Without knowing what you did it is impossible to give advice on how to correct it.
If these were files you copied over from some other system then just Re-Copy them replacing the ones that are corrupted.
Other then that I suggest you Wipe the drive and start over with a clean reinstall of the OS and programs. Then if you want to share files to All Accounts place those files in a folder in the ROOT of the drive.

    Hello, cgtyoder.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Try resetting the iPod and power cycling your Mac to see if this message disappears.  If the issue persists you may need to restore the device to factory settings.  The article below will walk you through both these steps.

  • I keep getting the alert window that says, "the url is not valid and cannot be loaded"

My computer is "online" but whenever I try to get on a website, the "Alert" box pops up in the middle of my screen saying, "the URL is not valid and cannot be loaded". This is only happening on Mozilla Firefox, I am able to use Internet Explorer without any problems. I do prefer to use Mozilla Firefox as my browser though.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Surfing the web I constantly get a dialog box popping up that says "The connection was rest" or " Server not found" or "The connection has timed out"

Surfing the web I constantly get a dialog box popping up that says "The connection was rest" or " Server not found" or "The connection has timed out". The panel gives me three possible causes, none of which are correct and tells me to "Try again". Sometimes when I try again the site appears, sometimes it does after several tries and sometimes it never does. I called my IP, Cox and they told me it is a result of something Microsoft put out in their updates to IE (presumably to discourage people from using Firefox). Can you help me get rid of this problem?

  • My internet is on and I keep getting an alert window popping up saying the URL is not valid and can not be loaded?

I don't know what more details I can give you except for what I indicated. I am online and a window will pop up indicating the URL is not valid and can not be loaded. Make it stop! That's all! Furthermore you should not limit people on the length of their question. How can they explain it ?

Thats the annoying part! I have enough space and I'm putting things on a external hard drive and I keep deleting it off the computer.

  • When I click on the Home button, I get a message saying "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded????????"

When I first turn on Firefox, I only get a blank "new tab". It does not go to the Firefox Home Page. When I click on the Home button in the top right, I get the message "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded." How can I fix this so when I open Firefox it goes right to the Firefox Home Page (or a home page of my own choosing)??

[[How to set the home page]] has detailed instructions.
To get back to the default home page:
    # At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Options.
    # Select the General panel.
    # In the Startup box, click Restore to Default.
If this isn't "sticking", you may have malware or an extension that is preventing you from making the change.

  • I am getting an Alert, that says, "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.

Can't think of anything else to say.

i get the same message, "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.".
i've narrowed it down a bit more.
i've got a freshly installed firefox US 9.0.1 on a freshly installed windows xp pro sp3 US (fully patched). a freshly installed separate firefox 3 install is on this machine too, but that does not seem relevant.
the problem only occurs when i load https-urls with invalid certificates (eg self-signed) in the case that i use a firefox with a non-default profile.
so the "default" profile displays a "this page cannot be trusted" screen as expected, i can open the url. but in a different firefox instance/profile, when going to the same https url, i get the error popup. the firefox profile/instance is started like this: firefox.exe -P dev -no-remote.
i have reinstalled firefox 9 & 3 because of this issue. the problem stayed. i didn't remember whether i could load the https url with the default before the reinstall. perhaps i couldn't...

  • When we connect to the internet or visit a new web page, a new tab opens and an alert pops up as follows: "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded"

When we start the internet or navigate to a new page, a new tab opens with the following alert: "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded." We "x" out of it, but a new tab, with the same alert appears. The problem occurs again when we try to navigate to another web page. A real nuisance. We've scanned the computer but found nothing but Adware cookies.

I must press 'ok' before I can proceed. This happened after I clicked 'deactivate' when I got a new screen when I opened a new tab, which was also a hassle. Previously, I opened a new tab and life was good...no new screens, no messages....

  • I restored my iphone 2 to factory settings and now it says the carrier is not supported. what can I do? I bought it from the us years ago and used it in romania and uk.

I have a Iphone 2 bought several years ago from the us, and used it in romania with a romanian number and in the uk. I think it was unlocked in the us by iphone. I did a stupid thing and I reset the phone to the factory settings and now I inserted a lyca sim and it says that The sim card inserted does not seem to be supported. please help me!!!

I'm assuming you're referring to the original iPhone.
More than likely, it was jailbroken or hacked to unlock it.
In the US, all of the original iPhones sold were locked to AT&T. AT&T did not offer unlocking at the time.
The best case scenario is that it has now re-locked to AT&T. Luckily, AT&T now offers unlocking. All original iPhones were sold at full retail. They were not subsidized.
Submit a request here and see if they will unlock it. https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/#/
