A BRIDGE question

I was just wondering if there was a way to Blur the edges in camera raw (adiobe bridge)? It would seem like there would be but I can't seem to find it????

Yes, it can be done in ACR 5.3 hosted by Bridge 3.x (CS4), sort of.
But understand that Bridge is just a file browser, nor an editor of any kind. It does not open, save, adjust or manipulate images. It simply hands the file to the appropriate editor, whether that be ACR, Photoshop, Illustrator, MS Word, whatever.
In ACR, look for Post-Crop Vignetting, where everything can be adjusted, including the roundness or squareness of the vignette.
You should know that there are dedicated Bridge and Camera Raw forums. You posted in the wrong forum if you want an ACR solution.

Mac OS10.8.3 and CS6 Bridge question

In CS 6, when I go to "File" > "Browse in Bridge" on the drop down menu, "Browse in Mini Bridge" is always highlighted in blue, along with "Import" and "Automate" and "Scripts". Other options including "Browse in Bridge" are available, but not highlighted in blue.
I have no clue why these options are highlighted as I never have used any of them in the other versions of PSCS I've used, as I much prefer just "Browse in Bridge". . Is there any way to remove the highlight on these options, (but NOT remove the options) ? It isn't a BIG deal, just annoying.
Hope someone can enlighten me ~

Yes, you are right. This is more of a Photoshop question, and I appreciate your calling it to my attention. I did do as you suggested, but was unable to uncheck "What's New" in PS6. I tried a dozen times, and no matter what I do, it just won't uncheck.
I have actually posted this qustion on the dpreview.com Retouching Forum and Mac Forum, but yours is the first answe I've received in several days. So I appreciate your trying to help, and give you a "yes" for alerting me to my error in thinking it was a Bridge question.
Like I mentinoed, this is not a critical problem, just an annoying one. There are a LOT of options that are highlighted, but the one on "Mini Bridge' just hits me in the face everytime I get on PS and want to just "Browse in Bridge". It's like someone trying to make you buy something you don't want ! :-) I guess I'll just have to get used to it !

When I make changes to a Photoshop image’s description, under File info, Adobe Bridge will not recognize the changes and the new words do not come up in a search. Why is that?

Weblogic Messaging Bridge Question

          I am using the Weblogic Messaging Bridge and I have a question regarding Transactions.
          I am using the bridge to integrate MQ Series with Weblogic JMS.
          If I want to send messages over the the bridge and have it wrapped in a transaction
          do I wrap my code where I send the message across on the Queue within a User Transaction
          or do I wrap it in a Global Transaction?

          In your situation, if I remember correctly, use a JTA transaction to post
          the message to WL queue. Make sure that the bridge is configured with XA
          connection factory to move the message to MQ. The bridge will start an
          internal transaction and synchronously move messages to MQ and then it's
          upto your adapter code to dequue the message from MQ within transaction.
          On the receiving side, the adapter would put the message in MQ
          (transationally if you prefer), the bridge would move the message to WL
          destination within a transaction (assuming it is configured correctly). You
          could then use a MDB with container transaction to dequeue the message and
          invoke your business logic.
          Feel free to send me an email if you have further questions. You can also
          contact Helen. I am on the road, so I would not have access to my emails
          until I get back to the hotel.
          Once you are ready to move to 7.0 we could come back and see what hop can we
          remove.

Async sync bridge question

Hello,
I need expert advice regarding what is the best way to remove Async sync Bridge.
I am using the bridge from SAP to java application get message back. But I am not using to get any data, just to confirm that my message reached my java application.
Since I am not using to get data back in Sync call, i am planning to remove it since this is ver y resource consuming. On the other hand, i am palnning to use Async call and ackonowledgement.
If i use Async call, I have to depend on Xi queue for data synchronization. is there any other way that I can make sure my data is synchronised in SAP and java appl.

By default SOAP adapter gives u a acknowledgement back in the form of a HTTP code(irrespective of you explicitly asking for it or not)HTTP 200 response code means success,you will see this in sxmb_moni.
if you don't get HTTP 200 in sxmb_moni then you will see and error there(HTTP 400 i guess).

Alerts can be configured for any interface,it need not be Integration process.
You can configure alerts for your scenario and if u get HTTP 400 back you will see error in sxmb_moni and alert mechanism will trigger a e-mail to your account.

For Complete data synchronization you need a actual response from receiver system(not just HTTP return code)
but if you are concerned only with data delivery to the receiver system and are not concerned with how he/she handles it after it has been received,then HTTP response code will do.

Bridge question

I just upgraded to Creative Cloud. I have been using PS6 and Bridge. I used to be able to click on the image, in Bridge, and it would open in Photoshop. This is not happening in Bridge CC. What can I do to make this work in CC?

Do you have Bridge CC? It is a separate download.

CS6 Bridge question

Bridge has begun giving me problems. After Bridge opens it takes 3 minutes or so to display the location selected. Then it takes another three minutes to open a folder, another three minutes to open a file, etc. etc. With my current setup it is taking 15 min to open a photo. I have deactivated the program on this computer, uninstalled, and reinstalled it. No change in behavior. There are several available updates for CS6 but they will not install. I get error message D44M1I200. Can anyone help?

We can't know. You have not provided any system information or other details. Standard procedure would be to simply reinstall the software after running the cleaner tool.

Photoshop/Bridge Question

I notice that when I double click on a photo in the new version of Bridge, it is not automatically opened in Photoshop. How can I make PS the default processor? -Allison

Hi there,
You can change what application a specific file type opens in through Bridge in the Preferences panel. To open the Preferences panel in Bridge, click CTRL + K on a PC or Command + K on a Mac.
In the Preferences panel, choose "File Type Associations"
Then, choose the dropdown next to your filetype that you're having trouble with. In this example I used JPEG. Then, choose the program (Photoshop) that you would like the file to open in.
Then hit "Ok" and close and reopen Bridge.

ACE Implementation Bridging Question

My customer is looking to undertake ACE Module implementation in favour of legacy installed products.
One of the requirements of the current environment is that some applications have VIPs and servers in the same IP Subnet and same Layer 2 vlan.
I assumed using Bridge Mode (BVI) would be the way to go - but now I am not so sure. The examples of bridge group config I have seen reference the VIP in a separate Layer 2 Vlan to the Servers.
My requirement is to have all in the same Layer 2 Vlan. Is this possible ?

yes it is possible.
You need two Vlans. clients & Vip will be on one Vlan and the servers on the other Vlan then you will bridge them using ACE.
For e.g
Lets say currently you have VLANX with all users & Servers.
You can create a new Vlan "VLAN Y" , assign all servers to VLAN Y, assign VLAN X & VLAN Y to ACE and bridge VLANY (new vlan) & VLANX (Old VLAN) using ACE.
Now your VIPs & clients will belong the old vlanX (same Ip subnet) & Servers will be on a new VlanY (again same Ip subnet.
If you donot want to use two Vlans
then you will have to use ACE in one arm mode. Simply extend the current vlan to the ACE module and configure SRC NAT/PBR.
Reason behind using SrcNat/PBR is to make sure that return traffic from the servers should not bypass ACE module
(which is not possible in case of bridge mode).

WRT54GS router to WET54G bridge question, bridge connect to a wired router?

Hello Everyone,
I have a Wireless-G LAN set up using a WRT54GS router. The existing wireless devices on the LAN are 2 PCs, a TiVo unit (using the TiVo wireless adapter), and 2 WET54G wireless bridges. One bridge connects by ethernet wire to a LAN printer. The other bridge connects by ethernet wire to a Sony BDP-S550 Blu-Ray player.
The security is WPA2-AES. so far all of that works OK, believe it or not, though I grew a lot older making it happen.
Now here's what I'd like to do: I'd like to add another wired LAN device where the second WET54G bridge connects to the Blu-Ray player. The bridge only has one ethernet wire connection, so I have to come up with some other way to get the two devices connected to the wireless LAN.
I have two other LinkSys devices kicking around here that I can use. One is a BEFSR41 wired Router. The other is a WAP54G wireless Access Point. If I can use one or both of those somehow, I won't have to buy another device. That's the agenda so far.
Right now it looks like this:
WRT54GS Router wireless to WET54G Bridge wire to WAN input of BEFSR41 Router wires to the two LAN devices.
I'm having trouble making this work, assuming it can even be done. Can I get this config to work, or do I have to add the Access Point where the bridge is now, or.... ?

You already have a network working with your existing devices. What you are trying to include in your network is possible and can be done. Instead of connecting the cable from the WET54G to the WAN port on the router, connect the cable the LAN port on the router. Disable the DHCP and change the lan ip in the range of your existing network. It should work.

Wireless bridge question....?

I have a wireless bridge between two buildings with 54 Mbps link. However theres around 90% packet loss between the two sites. What would be the best way to take care of packet loss.Any wireless experts..?

First, what have you tried so far?
Have you checked the wireless environment with something like NetStumbler (www.netstumbler.com - free)?
Have you tried other channels?
What is your signal strength, and what is your signal quality?
Do you have a good line-of-sight? (like, between trees would be bad ... when the wind blows the trees eat your signal). In that same ballpark, did you make sure you had a clear Freznel zone?
Have you checked the WIRED connection to your bridges? It's certainly possible that your cabling is causng the high failure rate.
Is it bad all the time, or just some week days, nights, weekends, etc? Over what period of time was the 90% measurement recorded? Did you try resetting the counters to see what *rate* the failures occurred? (i.e., under heavy traffic loads, was the rate higher than under normal / low traffic loads)?

310N Bridge question - extensive hook-up

OK, I have a really extensive question(s) - and I will start with listing the equipment I am working with and my final goal.
I have the 310N Router
I added a Net Gear fast Ethernet switch
I have attempted to go from the Net Gear (via wire) to a Sherwood audio/video receiver, Seagate Home theater + , Samsung Blu-Ray BD4600, Dish Network VIP 612 DVR, Seagate Free Agent 1.2 TB (plugged into the DVR). To deal with the limited HDMI ports on the Sherwood I added a Rocket Switch (adds 2 HDMI ports) and then had to add a four (4) port HDMI switch.
I have Network magic to try and keep track of everything so I think I have the bases covered.
Now the following are the "problems" I'm having with the whole project.
My entire network is running under Windows Professional - opening Explorer I can see the two laptops, desktop, and printer when I view the Network section. All of the other equipment hanging off from the Net Gear switch is nowhere to be seen. Not seeing the Blu-Ray, DVR, Home Theater+ or Sherwood leaves me without being able to manage the equipment.
When I enter Network Magic I can see the laptops, desktop, printer attached to the desktop, Seagate Home Theater+, Dish Network VIP 612, and Samsung Blu-Ray BD4600. Clicking on the items attached to the Net Gear I can see the IP addresses and if the equipment is turned on or off BUT so far I can't access the DVR hard drive or the 1.2 TB on it, the Blu-Ray hard drive, or configure the Home Theater+ system via my network.
According to Dish Network the system is correctly attached and they are telling me I should be able to address both hard drives on the VIP 612. Samsung says I have the ethernet cable hooked up correctly and should be able to access the hard drive on it. The Seagate Home Theater+ works fine when accessing it through the TV remote control but even though Network magic sees the unit I can't access this either through my network.
So there it is, I did a ton of reading before adding the accessories to my entertainment system and it appeared that I could integrate all of these items but it's not working out very well.
Does anyone have any advise on how I can figure out why I can see the equipment but not able to control it through my 310N?
I'm open to any advise or suggestions.

Starting at the bottom of your advise from the bottom moving to the top here is what I have done:
I have searched the Windows setting from top to bottom and haven't found any setting that are blocking the display of attached devices. Maybe I am looking for something that isn't there but I expected when opening Explorer - Network, I would see all of the devices attached to the Network. I can see and attach to the other laptops, desktop, and printer within my network. I may have it all wrong but each of the devices I spoke of have their own IP address (except the NETGEAR hub) so I thought I would see it on Explorer.
As far as the Dish Network - I'm not 100% convinced that it does have a web browser built into the system as I understand a browser. When I think browser I think I can surf the web through the browser. With the DVR you are connected to Disk Network and ony them. DN (Dish Network) connects to there online site where you can add/delete program recordings, order pay-per-view, etc. The Segate Home Theater+ allows you to go to their proprietary site which offers a limited number of viewing options you can connect to i.e. uTube, etc.
Thank you for the information - I can see that I need to do a lot more reading as to how and harness the power (or lack of) of the devices I curently have within my home entertainment system.
