Here it is: I run F-Secure Firewall and Anti-virus s/w. When you use the LR Upload in the Web Module and the F-Secure is running, the photos and other files get truncated [at least some of them, not consistent]. I was turning off my F-Secure to upload and for a while, I shut down F-secure and then started LR. Once I started LR and then shut down F-S and the problem occurred again.
I then experimented by shutting down F-S, starting LR, and then restarting F-S. The uploads worked fine. It seems that LR is checking something at startup and storing something used in the upload when FS is running before starting LR.
Now I make sure LR is off, shutdown F-S and then start LR followed by starting LR.
I don't know if any other firewall systems exhibit this behavior of LR or not. Has anyone seen it with other s/w?

I have noticed this same problem. I only started noticing this since I upgraded to Snow Leopard. I don't recall seeing this problem on Leopard.
It also happens for me 100% of the time. An item sent as an attachment, when that item is later dragged to the trash, the trash won't empty until you quit Mail.
Drafts folder is empty.

I'm not sure if it is prefixing the lock statement or some sort of AOP on the method. Does anyone know what this "RestartFlushAlgorithim:" is doing?

See if the Disk is issuing any S.M.A.R.T errors in Disk Utility...

Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
In the Memory tab of Activity Monitor, are there a lot of Pageouts?

I can't restore my iPod: Haven't seen this on any of the forums!!

I will try to make this brief to save time.
I connected my 4G iPod Photo.
iTunes started up.
Got the "corrupt iPod" message.
Clicked "Restore".
Connected to charger to complete the restore.
Restore completed fine.
Connected the iPod again.
iTunes started up.
Got the "corrupt iPod" message again.
I have done every possible troubleshooting step, both here on the Apple site and on the wonderful WWW.
NOW, here is the issue I have, that I haven't seen anywhere else...please read and understand this part!
- When I plug the iPod into the computer, I hear the USB connection sound.
- I check My Computer and there it is; Drive E: IPOD
- I go to iTunes Help > Diagnostics > iPod, and the green dot is there.
- I check the Diagnostics report, it shows my iPod is "truly mounted", has the correct serial number, correct iPod software version etc etc
- Here's the kicker: After all this, the iPod does NOT show up in the pane on the left side of iTunes!! I have uninstalled then reinstalled iTunes, I have version 7.1
- I cannot restore it again, because it doesn't show up for me to restore! But the Diagnostics in iTunes say it is there and mounted. I also cannot format it in My Computer...I click 'Format' and nothing happens. So I am stuck in a loop.

The new one has to be same or newer model than the old iPod
First just set the iPod up as new.
Then update the iPod by going to Settings>General>Software Update
After upodated go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting. \When done setup by restoring from iCloud backup

As I understood from AppStore reviews it's not a solely my problem.
On launching ibooks I can see only empty bookshelved approximately for 1 second and then application quits and I see a desktop. It has happened just after upgrade.

It's stuck on a yellow question marked "multimedia audio controller." It doesn't like the CD drivers or the drivers snarfed from the aborted "you don't have an sb controller installed" pull from windows\temp\CF whatever it was. It's 3am and I've been trying to get this stupid thing running for 7 hours now. I'm going to bed. I will see if it is any smarter tomorrow morning.
It was running great until I did an "update from the web." If I hadn't have done that I'd have no complaints. Now it's hosed and I can't even get back to where I was before. I'm not impressed with creative's installation procedure.
However, there are many people complaining about the "you don't have an SB installed" problem. Creative needs a "delete everything" button, and an "install all new drivers" button. Take a page out of ATI's book in the number of headaches created by windows installer and come up with a way to fix them yourself. ATI did. This would at least get me back to the BSOD, which right now I'm longing for.
This is on a shuttle st6g4 with a disable ac97 sound nonsense with those drivers removed.

I am loosing about 1% every 2 min as well. not very tech savy but I did turn off the LTE. I did originally let phone die all the way then charge all the way.
Have only had for 3 days should I start with taking it back and replacing? or does everyone think this is a software fix we are all gonna have to wait for ?

I do not see my iPhone 5s behaving in this manner, so there has to be some settings that you are using that are giving you problems. Did you restore this phone from an older iPhone backup? If so, you might want to restore the device as new and start over and sync over individual parts to see what might be bad.

Copy/Paste/Edit menu bug. Anybody else seen this?

I have a project with an imported stereo wav file on track one. It is about 8 minutes long, 44.1k. I am trying to copy small regions of this track and then paste those into track two and make these little pieces real audio clips. (Thanks again to Bee Jay and Jim Frazier for the help with that!) In this example I use the Marquee tool to highlight a 2 measure section of track one and from the Edit menu I select COPY. Then I select track two and move the playhead to the location I want to paste the copied clip.
Now, when I click on the Edit menu to select PASTE the drop-down menu is gone! However, to restore it I found a way. Minimize Logic, then maximize it again and the Edit drop-down menu has returned ! Very strange.
This has got to be a bug although not too serious. But it is very annoying having to minimize/maximize Logic just to get the drop-down menu back especially since I am using this copy/paste function a LOT. So it makes it very time consuming to have to do this. And it happens every time for me.
I sent this in to the feedback of Logic but wondered if anyone else has seen this?

Yes - I had this today for the first time in fact!
The Edit menu title was still in the bar, by when you clicked on it, the edit menu was completely gone and didn't drop down (the rest of the menus were fine). A weird one. I found it amusing for a couple of minutes until I got it back again (I've no idea how I did it) and it hasn't happened since.
Another one for the buglet files, methinks...

HELP !! Trying to video chat with a friend I haven't seen in 23 years.

I'm getting the "insufficient bandwidth" error when trying video or audio chat. PowerMac on my end, new iMac on the other end. My friend has successfully done video chat with a friend overseas so it seems that her end is fine. I do have a Linksys WRT54GS (ver 2.0) router and have read a lot about the issues there.
Here's my situation. First of all, when I video conf from my PowerMac to my iMac over our home network (Linksys router), no problems at all. Video and audio are great. I know it's different when going outside my home, but at least that is working. What I'm trying first is just disconnecting the router altogether and running my cable modem direct to the PowerMac. I have not had the chance to test this with a "live" chat partner. I've used "[email protected]" and the video works but no audio (does this mean anything?). In fact, I get the same result whether I go through the Linksys router or direct to the cable modem using this test.
I've done the following so far:
1. Bypassed the Linksys and going direct to the cable modem (I'm going to keep it this way until I get it to work, then I'll mess around with the router).
2. Set streaming preference for Quicktime to 1.5Mbps.
3. Tested my bandwidth at Speakeasy (6.8Mpbs down; 480kbps up)
4. Verified under iChat Preferences that bandwidth limit is set to NONE, microphone is set to iSight, and sound output is set to Line Out (since I have external speakers.)
5. All software is updated to the latest versions.
6. Verified that the mac's firewall is off.
Granted, as I said, I haven't been able to do a test with a live chat partner yet, but as I described above, the test with appleu3test01 acts exactly the same with or without the router so I'm skeptical that my live chat is going to work even with the router gone.
Can anyone help? For now, I just want to get this working without the router.

In case it's helpful to anyone, my iChatAV video chat appears to work just fine going through my Linksys WRT54GS v2.0 (with latest firmware upgrade) with no special settings for port openings or the like. In addition, the Linksys firewall is enabled (but not the Mac's firewall). The only change I made was to set Quicktime streaming at 1.5Mbps versus Automatic. However, I was not able to do an adequte test before I made this change, only after, so I don't know if this setting was necessary.

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

1.3.1 bug with clock (easily seen)

Just more of a quirk but I was wondering if when the Pre is in the locked screen, the time no longer shows "AM" or "PM" as it did before. Not really a big issue just wondering if this was intentional or did it get overlooked/or a bug. In WebOS 1.2.1, the AM/PM font was displayed in the lock screens.

This feature didn't make it into preview, so rather than removing the field from the UI, it was decided to just disable the field. This has now been implemented in 10.1.3 Prodcution.

Strange sync error, haven't seen before

My Ipod had been working fine, but then it wouldn't sync, either manually or automatically. It says it's syncing, but none of the new songs would be added to my ipod. I also noted that it was showing the wrong album art....so I did the 5R's. Now I've got no music on my ipod, and I'm unable to sync anything on. If I look at songs under the ipod while it says it is syncing, it shows them grayed out for a second on the ipod, then they disappear.
I'm working on windows 2000 w/ newest software I can.
Anyone seen this before?

Itunes won't open and I haven't seen my problem on this board

When I go to open Itunes, what looks like an agreement box pops up (with the Agree and Disagree buttons). I try to click agree, but it disappears too quickly and Itunes never opens. Is there anything I can do? I've tried all the trouble shooting ideas on the site and I've reinstalled everything.

Hate to tell you, but it sounds like you have malware or other spyware on your machine. This is one of the symptoms reported by users who have had this problem.
Download and install the EWIDO anti-spyware program. Run it, and remove anything bad that it finds. You may need to reboot into Safe Mode and run it from there to be sure you get everything. Also run Spybot Search and Destroy as well as Microsoft Antispyware, just to be certain you don't miss anything.
