A bug in Adobe Suite 6

This hapenned in two computers using Windows 8 and 7. Adobe Pro, say, was working right but the next time that I launched, the icon acknowledges the click but nothing hapens after. I checked the Task Manager and it is not listed there. Re-installing the software does not work. The only way that I fixed it is by reformating the computer and installing everything from scratch. If I delete Suite 6 and re-install it does not work either. What else can I try?

Sorry for not making any sense. Maybe my local setup is at fault. That is, assuming that software cannot have bugs and therefore, has to be the local setup. The bug I am refering to it happens in a networked environment as well as a satand alone system. It hapenned in one computer with Windows 7. Then it happen in the same computer using the pre-release version of Windows 8, as well as the final release. Then it happened in the stand alone home computers where no other security has been installed, other that whatever comes with Windows 8 Pro. I use two different models of computers, one is a dell Workstation T3400 and the second is an Optiplex 780 by Dell. So, network is eliminated as a probable cause and probable hardware too, since it happens in two different models. Other than that I can pinpoint any problem since all other applications work fine.
More information. The documents associated with Adobe still show the association (by sharing the adobe acrobat logo) but the application does not start either by clicking adobe pro or the document which launchs the application. In the tast manager the adobe pro does not show. In the past, de-installing or re-installing adobe pro could not resolve the issue. If you need more information, please, let me know what pieces of the puzzle do you need.

Bug report: Adobe Media Encoder (CS5) has encountered an error (WinFile.cpp-759)

I have a 714 MB Xvid file that I want to split into smaller pieces. I have gone successfully through a similar process earlier with a larger Xvid file using the same version of Adobe Media Encoder (CS5). It appears that no matter which output video format I choose, the process crashes with the following error message shown in a new pop-up dialog:
"Adobe Media Encoder has encountered an error. [..\..\Src\Win\WinFile.cpp-759].
(Even the source program file line number 759 in the above error message is always the same, regardless of my chosen output file format.)
The only option available from this point onwards is the "Continue" button. When I click Continue the program terminates with the Windows program crash message "Adobe Media Encoder CS5 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. <Debug> / <Close program>"
My search for other similar problem reports revealed that some user(s) has/have experienced a very similar problem in CS4, but the source line number was slightly different in CS4. Both problems are probably caused by the same error in Adobe's software. The small difference in source line numbers is probably due to some (minor) and probably unrelated changes to this C++ source module (WinFile.cpp).
It might of course be the case that this particular input video file has some rare encoding or other embedded problem. However, the fact that I can view the video without problems using Windows Media Player does not support this theory.
Apart from this message board I could not find any other avenue to report this bug to Adobe (without paying for support - which I am obviously not going to do as this is clearly a programming bug in the software). Hopefully some Adobe developer responsible for Media Encoder maintenance will read this forum from time to time and would subsequently inspect the source module for any obvious defects. I could supply the source video file with which this problem can be reproduced at will.

OK, I've reported the bug in the linked location. However, I had to use "Creative Suite" as the application, because "Adobe Media Encoder" was not an available option.

Where do I go to report a BUG in Adobe Lightroom

I have installed a trial version of Adobe Lightroom and it accessed a networked drive from a shortcut on my desktop and over 200 images where removed. Typically a program will ignore shortcuts and limit their seach or actions to the named folder only. I need to report this bug and find out how I can restore the files to their source folders.
Can anyone point me to the right dept.
I spoke to someone on chat this morning and their 'helpful' reply was they only offer support 'BEFORE' you download the product. Once you download the product and you actually have some questions they will not assist you. Go figure!! Not great service for companies evalutating Adobes suite.

Are you saying you did a Move import with Subfolders on and/or did a Folder-drag movie in LR Library, and in either case started in or above a folder with a shortcut and the Subfolders option traversed the shortcut to an unexpected location, or something else?

Selling my old iMac but keep Adobe Suite

I'm selling my old iMac and I want to include the Adobe Suite and other applications. What I don't want to include are my files- such as pictures, documents, etc. How do I do this? Thanks!

This applies to a no longer used version of Adobe software or complete CS suites.
The person I bought CS3 from is currently using CS5. This was an item on Amazon.
As long as the sale complies to the EULA and the end user de-registers the older Adobe software, that user can resell the software as an unregistered copy of the software for sale.
I got the actual, official, Adobe DVD discs and storage case, minus the paper manuals, with the actual serial number for that purchased version.
This was the full retail design standard version, not an upgrade version.
Bought it for a real, reasonable cost.
It was cheaper than purchasing a version of CS4.
Adobe has seemed to work out the previous bugs that CS3 had when Apple released 10.6 Snow Leopard.
So far, everything works.
Photoshop CS3 opens lightning fast compared to CS version I had running on OS X 10.5.
Haven't yet tested on any real projects, as yet though.
Just finished installing and re-registering and updating all of the software, today.

Aperture is Apples version of Lightroom. This has nothing to do with Adobe. Ask on a Apple forum. You won't find many people here using this program.

Java Embedding bug in SOA Suite 11g BPEL??

I am beginning to wonder if there is a 'bug' in the SOA Suite 11g, BPEL, Java Embedding activity? Need some help as soon as possible – does the Java Embedding activity work in SOA Suite 11g?
Have tried the following on Jdev 11.1.1.1 and Jdev 11.1.1.3 – get the same error message (see below for error message).

I created a simple composite app by:
1.     Created a Composite with BPEL Process
2.     Created a BPEL variable by the name of Variable and a Simple Type of string      ({http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema}string)
3.     Added an Assign activity (Assign_1) and assigned the value of “Test Var” to the variable Variable using a Copy operation.
4.     Then, after the assign activity, added a Java Embedding activity (Java_Embedding_1) with Java Version set to 1.5 and the following code:

Java Embedding bug in SOA Suite 11g BPEL??

Adobe Suite will not run with most recent Java after I have installed Yosemite

I have updated to Yosemite for my Mac, when trying to open Adobe Photoshop it prompted me to install Java 6, which I installed, then Java said to update to 8, which I did. My photoshop and other adobe suite programs still will not open (except Bridge) and keeps coming up with the error message to open the webpage to download DL1572.

This is a strange error. I had the same problem but my CC is running.

Eduardo Alejandro Lazo what specific error do you receive when trying to apply the update?
I would also recommend checking the installation logs for the updates you are attempting to apply for errors. I am afraid the only (legal) way is to buy it second hand with a licence transfer through Adobe, from someone that has not used CS5.5 for any kind of upgrading (including a discount on CC).

Bug in Adobe Reader when opening PDF's in a sharepoint library

I can consistently reproduce this problem.
A document library containing pdf's where the number of items exceeds the list view threshold.
The documents are locked and checked out to another user.
When a non-admin user clicks the pdf link, the following CAML query is sent to the server (presumably to see which user has the document checked out) - *However this CAML query fails because the list view threshold is exceeded*
Here is an example of the caml query adobe generates

HTTP 500 - List view threshold exceeeded.
This is a bug in adobe and needs to be fixed.
The final error is "The URL you have provided cannot be reached".
Expected behavior - the document opens in read only mode because it is locked (and also because we are using reader and can't edit it)
I see no reason for Reader to send a query to determine who has the document checked out.

You will not get a response from the bug report but they DO read the reports and use them to make future updates.
I notice a lot of the other issues reported here have not been responded to either.
Is that the normal process?
I haven't noticed that at all. In fact, most posts here get results as long as the poster gives enough details. Keep in mind that the answers are coming from fellow users and it is not an official avenue to contact Adobe personnel.
