Copy/Paste functionlity is not working in oracle forms 11g
Hi All,
We are using custom built big application (oracle 11g/forms 11g).
1. And few user are not able to copy/paste from oracle forms 11g to winword.And its random sometime they can ,sometime they can't .
2. If they have problem means they have copy/paste issue and (When we close application and run it again it is working fine)
3.it's random we are not able to re-produce in development environment.
What i noticed both user have problem and both are using left hand mouse ,generally we use left/right they are using right/left.
Here the Environment Detail:
Java runtime :1.6.0_26
Weblogic server
oracle forms 11g
So just wondering is there any changes required. Seniors/Guru please advise.
Thanks!It is very important to make clear which direction you are going. If you are not able to copy from Forms and paste to an external application, this could be any one or more of the following:
1. There is a problem with the JRE. Consider uninstalling ALL currentlly installed JREs and install the latest supported version 1.6.0_33
2. There may have been an issue with the Forms version you are using. Be sure you are using 11.1.1.6 or 11.1.2.0. If not, install the latest patch.
3. The JRE was unable to properly identify or store the digitial signature in the Forms jar file or one which you included (custom code). If you are using any customer jar files, ensure that they have been properly signed. Also be sure that JRE cache is being stored on the local client machine and not a remote location as this is not supported. If you have not altered the default, the cache is stored in the user's home directory under Application Data (AppData for Win7)
4. Could be a mouse driver issue. Go to the mouse vendor's web site and get the latest driver for that mouse. Do not use the MS drivers.
Example:
C:\Users\<USER NAME>\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache
So, recommendations:
1. Uninstall all JRE versions currently installed. Install 1.6.0_33
2. Ensure that you are using 11.1.1.6 or 11.1.2.0
3. Clear the JRE cache. To do this close ALL open browsers and open the Java Control Panel. Look on the General tab for Temporary Internet Files > Settings > Delete Files > Ok
4. Install the latest mouse driver.
5. Retest

Pooled Connection not supported in oracle forms 11g
Dear all,
I am using oracle from builder (11.1.1.4) and oracle database 11g Release 2. I can connect to the database from oracle forms 11g, when I use a dedicated or shared server connection mentioned in the tnsnames.ora file . But I want to use the oracle database 11g's new feature DRCP (Database Resident Connection Polling).
To do this a made a another POOLED connection (SERVER=POOLED) in the tnsnames.ora.I can connect to the 11g r2 database server from sqlplus using POOLED connection. But when I try it from form builder (11.1.1.1.4) it gives error with some unknown characters.
Then I tried it in linux frmcmp the message i got in terminal is can not *"Cannot obtain ORACLE version number"*
I have googled and also checked in metalink. But I got nothing.Thanks in advance for your help.I don't think this feature is feasible for forms.
Quoting the documentation from
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28310/manproc002.htm
Database Resident Connection Pooling (DRCP) provides a connection pool in the database server for typical Web application usage scenarios where the application acquires a database connection, works on it for a relatively short duration, and then releases it.
Forms keeps a permanent connection to the database, so a connection pool isn't gonna help you in any way.

Headstart forms - down key does not work in Oracle Forms 11g
Just moved forms from 10g to 11g.
But when run the down key does not work. The .res file looks OK.
I have included the hst65.jar in the search path for jar-files in formsweb.cfg.
Anybody had this isssue?It was an erroneous .res-file! So problem solved. :-)

VenkatThank you all for answering.
Just found the cause of the problem:
The page I am forwarding to has a DataForwardAction underneath.
The problem is: When I forward from my binding filter's doFilter() method, I never call super.doFilter() (how could I ?!) which puts the binding context into the DataActionContext.
No super.doFilter() -> no binding context in action context -> exception.
Why didn't this happen in 9.0.5.2?
In 9.0.5.2, in DataAction.execute(), the call to initialize the action context was wrapped in a try-catch block. The exception did occur in 9.0.5.2, but no one noticed (because the catch block caught it and sent it down the drain somehow).
This try-catch block no longer exists in DataAction, version 10.1.2.1.
One solution was to use a standard Struts ForwardAction for this page.
Sascha -
We're migrating from 9.0.5.2 to 10.1.2.1. The UIX application supports dynamic JDBC credentials through our own binding filter. This ran fine in 9.0.5.2. Now, when the app starts, I get:

Our pages have bindings, so bug 4222054 is probably not involved.
Has someone else encountered this?

Best Regards,

The answer lies in the error message you got, namely:
please use a valid jdkAccording to your post, you don't have a JDK, you only have a JRE. The javac compiler is part of the JDK, it is not part of the JRE.
You can download the JDK from the J2SE Download Web page. Look for the Download J2SE SDK link -- do not choose the Download J2SE JRE link!

Help with Connections Manipulator not initialized exception
Hi,
I have an Enterprise Java Bean that provides an interface to SAP connectors for C++ clients via RMI-IIOP. There is a 'close' method which closes the connection, but when this method is called by the client I am seeing the following exceptions on the J2ee engine: I know that the Connections Manipulator is a J2ee kernel component, and its parameters can be viewed/modified via Visual Administrator, but is there something I need to be doing programmatically to initialize it? Thanks, Colm.
Cannot get input and output streams from socket. ConnectionsManipulator is not initialized.

"Cipher not initialized" when trying to invoke CRM On Demand web service
Hi,
I'm try to invoke CRM On Demand web service for which there is a pre-req to get a session ID by making an https request. I've the below java embedded code which does that. It works fine if I run the below code in my desktop as a java program, but when I deploy it on SOA 11g I get "Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cipher not initialized" error (find below the stack trace). Please let me know what's going wrong here?
String sessionString = "FAIL";
String wsLocation =

String headerName;

Thanks!Same question...did you ever got this resolved...for me, even the simple java program, when run on JDev 11g is ALSO not working. I am getting this.
Using JDev 10g on the same machine (or for that matter SOA 10g) works perfectly.
Have posted this thread too - Getting SSLHandshakeException when trying to login to OCOD using Jdev 11g

JDBC adapter - not initialized after error
Hi,
While doing maintenance on the DB2 server we get the following error:
com.sap.aii.af.service.util.concurrent.ResourcePoolException: Unable to create new pooled resource: DriverManagerException: Cannot establish connection to URL 'XXXXXXXXXXXX': com.ibm.db2.jcc.b.SQLException: IO Exception opening socket to server XXXXX on port XXXXX. The DB2 Server may be down.
This is expected. But, after this error occurs the JDBC receiver adapter becomes unknown or not registered. Even after the DB2 server is brought back up when we process a mesasge through the adapter we get the following error:
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: JDBC Adapter configuration not initialized: null
Doing a cache refresh resolves the issue, but is this expected? Should a DB2 connection issue cause the JDBC adapter to no longer be registered?
Thanks.
Best Regards,
DukeHi Duke,
Doing a cache refresh resolves the issue, but is this expected? Should a DB2 connection issue cause the JDBC adapter to no longer be registered?
-->yes, adapter framework is designed like that.
based on your cache refresh settings Adapter engine will update the details and register the service again. i think the cache refresh settings were not defined properly for your server that is the reason it gave you that error and manually refresh is required.

Hi all,
I use Weblogic 6.1 SOAP
If any body know what does this mean and how this may be resolved please
help me
I try to send JavaBean class "A" which includes an array of JavaBean class
"B" which includes an array of string objects
from server side to the client.
class A {
B[] aBeans
setABeans(B[] aBeans) {}
getABeans() {}
class B {
String[] props;
setProps(String[] props) {}
getProps() {}
And only half of the method invocation is ok - data is transmitted by soap
and is displayed
at the client side in "verbose=true" mode and i see that data is received
completely but the client side JavaBean class "A"
was not initialized because the exception was thrown when soap trying to
instantiate JavaBean class "B":
SAXException: Could not instantiate bean: B
I looked at jdk API and the InstantiationException is thrown only if class
is an interface or an abstract class,
but class "B" is not abstract or interface, it is simple JavaBean class.
What is the trouble?
Help me plsHi, Pieter!
Thanks in advance, this solve a problem.

Hi!
I think I know the problem.
Does your JavaBean has a default constructor (a parameterlessconstructor).

Try it!
greetings
