A Calendar Synchronization Failed problem

Yes, I searched and read the related threads with solutions.
I installed DBFixIt and ran it, it now scans with no errors and no deleted records,
still calendar synchronization fails. (Both EZ and Advanced were tried.)
I installed DateBk6 (Thank you! I had heard of it, and love what Pimlico has done!)
It reads and uses the data just fine, still calendar synchronization fails.
I tried renaming the user tree on my computer, forcing it to create all new files on the synch,
still calendar synchronization fails.
In fact, the entire datebook subdirectory was empty after it was created.
I am at my wits end, there has to be something I can do ... something that I am overlooking.
Thank you in advance for whatever help can be had.

Are you trying to sync to Outlook?  If so, try to sync to Palm desktop for a given hotsync.  What is the hotsync log doccumenting for the Calendar sync specifically.  A copy & paste of that would be nice.

I hope someone can help. When I sync, the hotsync log gives me the following info. Everything syncs fine except the calendar won't sync. The message doesn't give me any info on why it won't sync (except maybe the words "Recovery sync" - not sure why it says that). I have had a Palm for years and never had this problem. It just started about a week ago. I have a Tungsten E and am using Windows XP. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

I was brave and just ran the Detect and Repair. I was very lucky and was never asked for the installation disk :-). It ran succesfully. I restarted my computer, just in case that would help, and ran another sync. I got the same error as you can see below. What other ideas do you (or anyone) have? I so appreciate the help and am confident I can get this resolved.

  • Outlook Calendar Synchronization Failed

I'm a desktop tech at my local hospital and I have a doctor that cannot sync his Palm Treo 680 with his outlook calendar anymore after his profile was rebuilt..
I've been trying to get this syncronization to work for over a week now =(.. to no avail.. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, tried installing it on another PC and I've tried almost every fix I can find.

for awhile I was getting one of those EASNotify8009) errors and I renamed the EASNotify.dll file but after doing that it wouldn't sync email at all =(
I've really been through everything with this and I am at wits end. Even if you could recommend me another 3rd party sync software that would be AMAZING.

I saw this solution and he doesn't have any events that span overnight but he does have reoccuring events with no end date.. his defense was that it was working before and these reoccuring events with no date were there..
could an update have come out that changed this issue for outlook?

  • Calendar Synchronization Fails 0x80040fb3

Ok I just purchased the BB Bold and so far I've spent a considerable amount of time trying to debug why the calendar items will not synchronize.  I'm getting the same generic error that appears when contact information is incomplete.  My contacts synchronize with no problems.
    Here's my config:
    DM 4.7
    Outlook 2007 all patched
    USB connection
    Two Way Sync
Transfer only future items (turns out to be about 21)
Remove past alerts (tried all options)
Conflict resolution: Add all conflicting items (tried all options)
Error encountered.  Error code - 0x80040fb3.  Check Documenation
    I've tried the DM uninstall.
I've tried 4.6 (came on cd)
I've removed all attachemnts from my calendar appointments
I've tried to get a single calendar item to synchronize with no success
I performed a hard reboot on the BB
I cleared all calendar items from the BB
    I reset the phone completely
I'm sure there have been other tests, but I am open to suggestions before I give the gravity test a try from a high story building.
    Thanks!

  • After two years w/o problems, T610 Synchronization Failed ...

For about two years, I've had no problem syncing my SE T610 with Address Book and iCal.
Yesterday, I synced with no problem.
Today, I've been trying to sync and continually get the message:
An unexpected exception occured while synchronizing the device. Device "T610" synchronization failed.
I repaired the permissions and reset the device. Nothing.
Here's what I see in console, but I have no idea what it means:
2006-04-02 12:26:41.179 iSync[1076] SyncServices precondition failure in [ISyncConcreteSession setClientInfo:forRecordWithIdentifier:]: no such record with identifier com.apple.syncservices:23D9D4AE-26C4-42F6-87F2-EA7ADB0C7947

[iSync] we receive the end of our sync plan our sync plan
    Please help.

The easiest way to attempt a fix for your error condition is to launch iSync, open the Preferences… dialog and press the Reset Sync History… button.
Executing that process will not remove any data from your devices, servers or applications, but it will reintialize the truth database which is the central repository for data in the SyncServices framework, and will effectively force a first-time synchronization the next time you initiate an event.
To protect your data, you should use the built-in backup feature available under the File menu of both iCal and the Address Book to back up your calendaring, task and contact records before initiating that next 'first' synchronization event.

  • System synchronization failed--Protocol Error: Handheld file could not be opened. (4004)

I have reviewed Palm Support Page and the forums and recognize this is an old story but the solutions offered haven't worked for me.  I have had my Tungsten 2E for over a year and an earlier version before that.  It has been working well for me until I had a problem (out of the blue) with the HotSync.  I reinstalled the Palm software after checking cables, etc.  I was able to relink and get updated info from my handheld to the desktop but with a few blips in DocstoGo where I had to delete documents and add them back to the desktop and resync with the handheld.  All the info is on the handheld but see the log below to see the message "System synchronization failed".  A suggestion by other users is to delete the "PmTraceDatabase" to file C:\Program Files\Palm\N\Backup\PmTraceDatabase.PDB but I cannot find the named file on my desktop program files for Palm.
Does anyone have an explanation other than "live with it" since I believe I'm getting all my info synced?

  • Synchronization Failed from isync Conduit iCal

I'm having difficulty syncing iCal and a Palm Z22. First, I export my calendar in iCal format from Sungard/SCT which is used at my school. While importing into iCal I get the following message:

Got it. That's very clearly a problem you're going to have to address at the source - the export stage - rather than from iCal after import.
Have you spoken with the campus technology staff familiar with SCT Banner or SCT Campus Pipeline about the issue? Surely, they must be familiar with 'standards-based' calender export.
The problem here is that there are SO many component parts: the SCT program, the exported files, iCal, iSync and Sync Services. It could be that Apple has failed to properly account for and handle something produced by the SCT programs, but it seems far more likely that the export files are non-standard. The exported records are essentially considered 'mal-formed' by Sync Services, and there is no way that you can diagnose and correct the issue on a hit-or-miss basis.
The whole push-pull or put-get technology behind Sync Services is complex and at times mysterious, and made infinitely more complex when you cross platforms, despite the existence of widely touted 'standards' for data interchange.
I would start by hunting down the local Banner or Campus Pipeline expert, and asking that individual why the data is not 'synchronizable' in its current form.

  • Synchronization fails @ end of sync cycle sonyE w800 usb & bluetooth HELP!

I have tried everything I know to sort this problem . The phone still works fine for file transfer via bluetooth or usb i.e photos or mp3 etc . and there is no other problem with the phone .
I have made a master reset of the phone and deleted and rerergistered the phone as a bluetooth and bluetooth device several times .This also works fine Everything appears normal but isync fails . the problem first started about a week ago perhaps after a crash . I have also attempted to sync the phone via usb and receive the exact same error which leads me to think the problem is with isync rather than any of the protocols .
I deleted the isync and bluetooth prefs but didn't make any difference .
when I try to syncronize the phone , via isync , it runs fine but right at the end of the sync it returns the error" An unexpected error occured.
Device "W800i:-)" synchronization failed" . this is with usb or bluetooth synchronization .
opening console I can see the following type of dialogue over and over " 14:15:02.498 [iSync:2471] ERROR (.sync.SyncConduitManager): Exception catch: [ISyncConcreteSession clientRefusedChangesForRecordWithIdentifier:]: I know nothing about a record with identifier A6DF4542-842F-462C-B8CF-9EDA75DFF821. This doesn't mean much to me but maybe can help someone help me .
btw the sE gives me the error message "session failed/communication interuptted" .
    any help appreciated .

Have you tried resetting the iSync history in iSync prefs?
Or syncing just contacts, or just calendars, to see if one will allow a full sync.
Or syncing just a small group of contacts.
There may be some corrupted data in either Address Book or iCal that is tripping iSync up.

  • Calendar synchronization does not work anymore

    Hello all,
I am trying to fix a problem with my calendar synchronization.
I had been synchronizing with Lotus Notes for several months and recently ran into some problems that seemed to originate from a specific note in Lotus. I attempted to fix the problem by identifying the last note encountered and removing it. This only moved the error to the previous note in the log.
I then tried to see if resetting the synchronization options in Desktop Manager would help kick start the process again. This did not change the outcome.
The next step was to reset the Blackberry calendar database and options from the desktop manager and try and start from scratch again. This time there was no error but there was no synchronization either. Further digging showed that there was no rim.log file and no Notes log file created. I know the Desktop was communicating with the Blackberry because the desktop logo was showing on the device.
I then tried restoring my calendar so I could get back to the original problem. After the restore I was still getting the new scenario of no synchronization not the original problem.
I set up synchronization for memos from the device to the desktop using the ASCII export just to see if any synchronization would work. Memos came down fine and I now had a rim.log file produced but still no calendar synchronization.
All of the above was done using Desktop Manager 4.3.(?).  I have since updated the desktop manager to 4.7 and I am getting the same results. The last thing that I have tried was resting the calendar again and resending my service books, still no synchronization. This is a wired synchronization and all of the calendar options say wireless synchronization = no (I don't have a wireless option that I am aware of on this phone).
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
    Phone - BlackBerry® 8130 smartphone (CDMA) v4.5.0.77 (Platform 3.2.0.51)
    Carrier - Verizon
    Desktop Manager version 4.7.0.32

You may try rebooting the device to check if it works. If this did not help, you will have to re-setup outlook account on your device to get it worked.
Hope, this can resolve your issue.

Re Patrick's suggestion above, I was able to get Xmarks working again on both my Win 7 laptop and desktop today by uninstalling my Aurora browser completely and then installing the regular release version of Firefox, 20.0.1.
When I uninstalled Aurora, it asked me if I wanted to keep my customizations and personal data, and even though it meant a bit more restoration work later, I decided to try erasing all my Aurora settings and data and starting fresh. (But before doing so, I backed up all my bookmarks by exporting to an html file and my add-on settings via Firefox Sync.
After that, I installed and started with a clean slate version of regular Firefox, and proceeded to then reinstall my various add-ons and import my saved bookmarks from the html file. As soon as I re-installed Xmarks and re-logged into my Xmarks account, the automatic syncing process went fine and no more error messages or failures.
I had been using Aurora for months prior with Xmarks and never had any syncing problem until the first week of April. And at that point, the syncing function broke on both my laptop and desktop, which were both running the daily updated versions of Aurora. So I'm believing that something was changed in Aurora that caused this problem.

  • Outlook '07 Calendar Sync fails, please help!

I have an unusual problem with a brand new Blackberry Curve and Desktop Manager 4.3.
Initially, phone and computer (Outlook) synched perfectly. After a week of use, the Outlook Calendar stopped synching. It failed at record 17 with an Application Error. Forcing the user to quit desktop manager and restart it to access anything to do with synching. If I removed Calendar synching from the synch tasks--everything else synched normally.
I thought there must be a bad record on the phone or computer--so I started deleting recent events, synching only events within a range of dates, etc.. Nothing worked. Next step was clearing the database on the phone. Didn't help. Finally called my provider---they couldn't help so they forwarded me to Blackberry support. While talking with Blackberry support I was modifying settings, changing settings back and forth--and suddenly it started synching the calendar again--oddly enough without any kind of special setting.
For a week the phone & computer synched perfectly. Yesterday, the same error returned. Nothing I have done so far has fixed it this time. I've gone back through everything I did previously (I think)--and still, the Outlook 2007 Calendar synch fails at record 17?!?
I'm at a loss. The only clue from the end-user is that just prior to the problem recurring he had updated the Calendar on the Curve--all other Calendar updates were entered in Outlook. But I have cleared the Calendar database on the phone and the problem persists.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks very much in advance.

    (4) When iPad was recongized, RESET SYNC HISTORY
-- In iTunes select "Edit", then "Preferences", then select the "Devices" tab
-- click the "Reset Sync History" button
    -- click "OK".
    (5) Sync the iPad replacing the exiting Calendars on the iPAD

  • Nokia 5800 v31 calendar alarm fail

    HI!
I have upgraded my 5800 xm to v31.
Now i have the clock bug, the alarm always goes off 3 or 4 minutes after the hour i expected.
Worst than that is that every time i set a calendar alarm it doesn't do anything! When i go to calendar it says:
"1 or more calendar alarms failed due to hour change"
Does anyone have the same problem? Is there a way out?
    Best regards
    Sandgrain

There has also been cases of users changing snooze time from 5 to 10 min ( just the changing, whatever time you set it to) and solves the alarm for a little while. The bug is totally random.
My first 5800 on v30 had this issue - did a reset and it fixed the alarm for about 4 days before it continued to go off a couple of mins late. My second 5800 on 31 did not have it the first 3 weeks untill one night... You might be lucky or you might not be. It's totally random so chanchans advice getting a 3rd party alarm would be the thing. V40 solves it.
