Use comparison tool in SCU0.
Select SAP Reference IMG and ssay compare.
This will show the differences if any.
You can also compare at component level.
cross system visibility should be maintained in SCC4 settings for the client

What is the difference between Lync and Sharepoint?

Both lync and sharepoint seem to serve the same purpose,then why do they both exist? and another question is,is the sharepoint hosted by onedrive or

Analysis for Office and Sharepoint Integration

Hi everyone,
we're looking for a possibility to open Analysis for Office Excel documents directly within SharePoint.
The BO Integration kit doesn't seem to support Analysis for Office documents.
Is it possible to use the Excel Services within SharePoint?
Is there any other way to open the Analysis document directly within SharePoint as this is possible for "standard" Excel-Documents?

the problem I am facing is not the generation of an OpenDocument link, I was already able to build one, but the passing of parameters to the Analysis workbook.
For example, I have an Analysis workbook based on a SAP query with a mandatory BEx variable. With the OpenDocument link I want to set the value of the variable dynamically.

SSO between BW and Sharepoint

Hi,
We have a situation where we want to establish SSO between SAP BW (3.5 with out java stack running on UNIX machine) and MS Sharepoint server.
Can you kindly let me know what could be the best solution and any documentation?
I've looked at various docs and mostly all are boiling down to have a Java Stack. I'm unable to figure out a correct solution for the above scenario.

Sharing data between CRM and Sharepoint

Does anyone have an easy way to share dynamic lists in CRM with Sharepoint? We basically have a client list/view in accounts in CRM (all are online services with Microsoft 2013) and want to have it or a variation of it in sharepoint, but we want the data
to be dynamic. Wondering about BCS or using dynamic spreadsheets. Thanks.

Yes, this is what EPMA is meant for. You can create and share dimensions between applications of different type. In the property grid of any member at dimension library you can choose the category and edit the properties in selected category of the member (Planning, Consolidation (HFM), Essbase, etc.).

Gap analysis between current and future architecture in BPA suite?

We are developing a vision of our enterprise architecture for the next three years, using BPA suite. We do this by describing the current architecture (base) and the future architecture (goal).
Is it possible to somehow link the two (base and future) and generate a report about the differences?

Hello Lonneke,
yes there are a lot of point within the BPA suite that can be used to express exactly what you are planning. E.g. you can maintain installation status related attributes for application system types etc.
So most of the EA related information should be stored in object and model attributes.
But the most important point when building up a "as is" and (like in most cases when it comes to EA modeling) many "to be" scenarios is that you set up your repository right. This will protect you from much additional work later on (e.g. for cleaning up bad structures).
In general follow this structure:
a) clearly separate the different points in time
b) set up clear defined libraries for the static objects
c) define the levels of the EA you need for your specific situation (business architecture, application architecture, information architecture and infrastructure architecture). Keep this levels separated!
There are a few reports provided that could be used to evaluate the differences. Take a closer look at the "Analysis" section within the reports folder of the BPA suite. There are some useful evaluations as well. But never the less you would also have to write some specific reports for your use case(es).

What is the relationship between webcenter and Web 2.0?

Web 2.0 is not a specific software or standard or something like that. It is just a brand for a new level of providing and using web based services. The end user will more and more take control over information and data. Think of blogs, wikis, forums, and platforms like youtube or myspace (just to name some examples, there are lot more). The service provider will offer services but consuming these services is up to the end user (Mash ups). With WebCenter Suite you are able to provide these services since specific solutions like Wiki, Forums, Presence & Chat and so on are part of the suite.
The question for RT Editing should be connected with the service you want to provide. Usually Content editing is a part of web content Management. It depends on the requirements whether to integrate a content store or full blown Web CMS. The RTE Portlet is just a sample portlet implementation and doesn't have much to do with a content integration.

Elements and sharepoint

Has anybody tried to load photos along with element tags into Sharepoint? We can load the photos just fine but the tags are all MIA. Hundreds of photos have been tagged with Elements but Sharepoint won't retain the tags. Is there a solution or another Adobe product that can provide some kind of link between Elements and Sharepoint?

Hi Patrick, does the first page use the same ASPX file as the other pages? If not, you will need to add your jquery/jscript to the other page as well.

Reporting Services in SharePoint mode is a service for displaying, managing, and creating SSRS reports within SharePoint. The addin is a pre-req for SharePoint that is used to display reports and is required for Reporting Services in Native or SharePoint
mode, but does not by itself do anything.

Session variable filters in the integration between OBIEE and webcenter

Hello All,
I have a customer with the requirement to make sure that reports created in answers and containing sessions variables in filters definition will be correctly filtered once called from webcenter.
So if an OBI report is diplayed in webcenter and contains the same type of filters (based on session variable), will the results be filtered based on the specified variable?
In other words can we use session variables in the integration between OBIEE and webcenter?

Functional overlap between WebCenter Services and Beehive API

Hi,
I'm evaluating Beehive and have also just begun working with TP3 and WebCenter - and am curious about the rather substantial overlap between the new WebCenter Services and the Beehive API. Would anyone know if Beehive is utilizing the WebCenter Services internally, and just bundling them into that product and exposing them as Web Services through their API? Or are they just seperate and parallel efforts?

Steps in my Data Flow :

Data Conversion
OLE DB Destination
But I am getting the error of not converting between unicode and non-unicode string data types.
I am not sure what I am missing here.
In Data Conversion, what should be the Data Type for the Look up column?
Please suggest here.

You have a data conversion transformation. Now, in the destination are you assigning the results of the derived column transformation or the data conversion transformation. To avoid this error you need use the data conversion output.
You can eliminate the need for the data conversion with the following in the derived column (creating a new column):
(DT_STR,100,1252)(SUBSTRING([BusinessUnit],FINDSTRING([BusinessUnit],"#",1)+1,LEN([BusinessUnit])-FINDSTRING([BusinessUnit],"#",1)))
The 100 is the length and 1252 is the code page (I almost always use 1252) for interpreting the string.
