  • Conflicting or prerelease version of Adobe Flash Builder 4.6

    I am installing CS6 Master Collection. However, Flash Builder 4.6 can't be installed due to "A conflicting or prerelease version of Adobe Flash Builder 4.6 exists on this computer. The conflicting version must be removed before installing from the current media."
    First, I tried to uninstall, but Flash Builder was not listed. Then I deleted all flash builder related files, no help.
    Then I deleted all Flash Builder related registry entries, no success.
    Finally I downloaded and ran the cleaner tool (it does not have any Flash Builder related selection) and restarted, but nothing seems to help.

    I too have this problem. I have always installed a complete master collection without discarding the previous version as a 'fail-safe' incase some old files do not upgrade/translate properly. I currently have the full CS3, CS4, CS5 and CS5.5 on my computer. I have had to install CS6 but without Flash Builder 4.6 due to the error  "A conflicting or prerelease version of Adobe Flash Builder 4.6 exists on this computer. The conflicting version must be removed before installing from the current media.”
    I do not really want to have to uninstall past versions. I have never had to do this in the past?  I have also done a search and can't find anything that says Flash Builder 4.6 It seems that Flash Builder 4.5 is the most recent version on my computer that was installed with CS5.5. The only trial (or prerelease) software I have installed is Muse. This was installed months after installing Master Collection CS5.5.
    Going through the troubleshooting info at post 6. It seems like it Flash Builder 4.5 (ie the previous CS5.5 install) that is causing the conflict. See text as copied from the log "WARNING: DW020: {2FC6B122-6F1F-409C-8FF0-8F8369D7F30B} Adobe Flash Builder 4.6 4.6.1.0 conflicts with: {9D0088AD-BBB1-470B-B7B8-520EDEFAE5F3} Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 4.5.0.0 Please uninstall these products, restart your computer and then run this installer again."
    After uninstalling Flash Builder 4.5 (part of CS5.5 collection), I was then able to install Flash Builder 4.6. I then tried to reinstall the Flash Builder 4.5 using my CS5.5 installer but this came up as already installed; so it appears that you cannot have both Flash Builder 4.5 and Flash Builder 4.6 installed on the same computer. Is this what Adobe intended ? What is the reason for this?

    I am installing CS on my MAC and everything installed just fine with the exception of Flash Buiilder 4.6. The error message says, "A conflicting or prerelease version of Adobe Flash Builder 4.6 exists in this computer. The conflisting version must be removed before installing from the current media." I have tried everything! How can I find where the other version is that needs to be removed. And, yes, I have tried the Adobe cleanup tool.

    And you're sure you don't have any version of Flash Builder installed ? Could you provide logs of the installation as described in http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html

    We have a user who currently has a box (serial key) version of Adobe CS6 installed on his machine. We now have a number of cloud licenses available and I want to move hm to a cloud license so that we can install the apps available from the cloud.
    Do I need to uninstall the previous version of Adobe CS6 and then re-install from the cloud or can I just re-license the software using the creative cloud for desktops application?

    There is no need for it. You can run CS6 Perpetual and CC on the same machine without uninstalling CS6.

    CS6 perpetual Mac is version 13.0.6 Windows is version 13.0.1.3 Subscription cloud version is 13.1.2.  If you have a cloud subscription and a perpetual licence you would not be able to have both version install at the same time on same machine. What does your Creative Cloud desktop application show and if you start CS6 if the flash screen shows or you can get to menu Help>About Photoshop what version i shown 13.0.6  or 13.0.1.3 or 13.1.2?

    I tried to install Flash Catalyst from the Adobe Try It download.
    When I went to install I got an error:
    Your installation encountered errors.
    Please try restarting your system and installing again.
    Beta or prerelease versions of Adobe Flash Catalyst CS5.5 are installed on the machine, and must be uninstalled before this installation can proceed. Please uninstall these products, restart your computer, then run this installer again.
    I don't have other prerelease versions on my computer. I did try rebooting and got the same error again.

    I'm on a Mac with 10.6.7 and I exceed the minimum requirements.

    Ok will you can try running the uninstaller which is located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installer.  It may not function due to the method you utilized to remove the software.  If you still have problems then you can try running the CS5 Cleanup Script - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.

    Can Mountain Lion run the DISC version of Adobe CS6 Master Collection?
    I have a brand new to me, direct from Apple: June 2012 Refurbished 15.4-inch MacBook Pro 2.6GHz Quad-core Intel i7 with 8GB ram and Superdrive.
    Before I purchase the full Adobe Collection ON DISC I want to make sure I can run it on this great new machine.
    I have OS X 10.8.2 on the MBP right now. I will upgrade to 10.8.4 soon.
    Note: I am upgrading from a Powerbook G4, PowerPC, no intel chip, running OS X 10.4.11 Tiger;

    No problem. Never hurts to ask, and it's always nice to know software you depend on is going to work in a new OS before you go through the process of doing so.
    I do use it every day in Mountain Lion for our in home business and it actually works better than in Snow Leopard. Well, not better, but noticeably faster when a 64 bit version of CS6 is running on a completely 64 bit OS. You'll notice CS6 snapping open to a ready to use state faster than in previous versions of OS X. Processes and filters also complete faster.
    One thing to note though, if you have any third party plug-ins, they may also need to be updated in order to be used under Mountain Lion.

    I never had Presenter 10 installed previously in any form. I suspect something in the Registry is the problem. Anyone had this experience and know how to resolve it?

    You may need to remove the registry settings and manually delete Presenter folders from your system. Please follow the below steps (Make sure you take help of some technician before editing the registry):
    Make sure Presenter is not visible in "Control Panel". If presenter then uninstall it first. Make sure that you check " Remove Preferences" option from the uninstall window while uninstalling it.
    Go to Run>Type "Regedit" and click ok.
    Expand : "HKEY_CURRNT_USER" and go to Software>Adobe.
    Right Click "Adobe Presenter " Folder and Delete it.
    Now expand : "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" and go to Software>Adobe.
    Delete "Adobe Presenter Video Express" Folder.
    Go to : "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE">Software> "Wow6432Node" > Adobe > and delete "Adobe Presenter" folder.
    Go to : C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe and delete Adobe Presenter Folder.
    Go to : C:\Program Files\Adobe and delete Adobe Presenter folder.
    Restart Machine.
    Install Presnter 10 again.

  • Unable to install Flash Builder Premium: a beta version exists on this computer

    Hi,
    I'm a user of Flex since version 2 and i'm still currently using it everyday. Some days ago I uninstall Flash Builder Premium 4.7 because i did a mess installing some external packages so I dedided to uninstall it and install everything from scratch.
    The problem is that installing using Creating Cloud on my iMac, I always receive the same error: "a beta version exists on this computer".
    I have already used the "Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool" and I removed the "Adobe Flash Builder" having the same icon as the other applications installed by Creative Cloud and now I have another "Adobe Flash Builder" with a slightly different icon but I'm scared to use it because waiting to repair Flash Builder 4.7 I'm using Flash Builder 4.6 and I cannot think I cannot work because Flash Builder is not working (I use it every day !).
    I removed Flash Builder 4.7 using the uninstaller, so the uninstalled didn't completed its job.
    On the machine I have currently installed Flex Builder 3, Adobe Flash Builder 4.6, Adobe Gaming SDK 1.0 (no uninstaller for it !), Adobe Flash C++ Compiler (no uninstaller for it too!).
    So, the question is, where I can find the log file containing the reason of the error message ? I have already checked the followimg folders:
         \Library\Logs\Adobe\Installer: I cleaned the folder and the error happens before a file is created in this folder
         \Users\<my account>\Library\Logs: it seems that the error isn't logged here
    Please help me, I need to use Flash Builder 4.7 for a presentation I have to do next Wednsday (almost 2 years of working !!!)

    Please search for Flash Builder in Spotlight and if find simply uninstall it or delete the folders containing the software.

  • Trying to Serialize Trial version of Adobe Cs6 Design Standard on Mac

    We have created a Trial package of Adobe Cs6 Design Standard using  AAMEE 3.1 latest version. We followed the guidelines outlined in    
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/enterprisedeployment.html  to create a Serialization file. However when we try to Run the Command in terminal "AdobeSerialization --tool=VolumeSerialize --provfile=Absolute_Path_of_prov.xml" we get an error which states AdobeSerialization command not found.  Am I missing something here while running the command? Serialization  workflow creates a output folder containing AdobeSerialization executable file  and a prov.xml file. Can't we run the executable directly without using any command on Mac?  We are in the process of using this workflow in order to  streamline the licensing in enterprise. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi,
    If you are getting the "Adobeserialization command not found" error, it is not able to find the AdobeSerialization at the path you have mentioned. You should give the path of the folder where the AdobeSerialization is kept on your machine. Please retry it and let us know in case of any error. Return code of zero means success.
    If you are using AAMEE 3.1 and if you use imaging, you need got go through the route of creating the trial package, deploying the trial image and then serializaing the client machines using serialization executable after deploying the trial packages on client machines. The machine-to-license binding is removed in AAMEE 3.1, so you just need to create a serialized packge using AAMEE 3.1, take its image and deploy it on client machines. The licensing will not break on client machines and everything will work fine. So there is no need to create a serialization executable.
    If you have already created a master machine (the machine whoose image is created and deployed) with Adobe products installed in trial, create a serialization executable and run it on the master machine using the command line -
    AdobeSerialization --tool=VolumeSerialize--stream --provfile=Absolute_Path_of_prov.xml
    where
    --tool=VolumeSerialize specifies that the tool needs to process the prov.xml file to serialize.
    --provfile specifies the absolute file path to the prov.xml file,
    By default, the tool looks for the prov.xml file in the same directory as the executable file and so
    typically you do not need to specify this option. (Specify this option only if the prov.xml file is in some other location.) .
    This will serialize your trial products and you can take its image and deploy it on client machines. Again, the licensing will not break on client machines and there is no need to run the serialization executable on all client machines seperately.
    if you have already deployed Adobe products on client machines in trial mode, you need to serialize all the machines using the AdobeSerialization tool. Please run this tool with command line -
    AdobeSerialization --tool=VolumeSerialize --provfile=Absolute_Path_of_prov.xml.
    This will serialize the Adobe Products.
    While taking the above routes, make sure that the package is created using AAMEE 3.1 only. The machine-to-license binding of CS6 is removed only in AAMEE 3.1 release version. This will not work for packages created using AAMEE 3.0 or AAMEE 3.1 beta version.

    I don't think there are such things as business and non-business versions of software as far as Adobe is concerned.  How you manage the installations of the software you purchase from them is your call.  If there is some protocol for doing this that is defined by your workplace then you should inquire with whomever manages that protocol.

  • ITunes does not open.  Using latest version on a PC.  Windows 7 Professional.  64 bit.  8 week old laptop.  Earlier versions of iTunes did open on this computer.

    iTunes will not open anymore.  I'm using the latest cersion of iTines, Version 11 + downloaded Feb 26 2014.  Previous version did not open either.  I bought this computer about 8 weeks ago.  Since then previous versions of iTunes did open, although performance was iffy.  Somethimes the program owould open after a while (1 to 5 minutes),  sometimes I'd lose patience.  Whenever it did open, it seemed to work ok, sort of.
