A different iphone antenna problem

Sometimes when i transition from edge to 3g (aka going from inside where there is no 3g to the outside), the phone will stay on edge and continue to be on 1 to two bars despite my being in a 5 bar-3g area. Even when i make the phone go into airplane mode and then back, in order to restart the wireless connections, the phone continues to be stuck. So i have to restart it.
Other times, the phone will just freeze when in the middle of transitioning to 3g. And i would have to force shut down my phone with the sleep and home button.
What do you guys think the problem is? Should i go to the apple store? It happens like once a day. I dont know if i am able to replicate it.

There are several people having the same issue. Me included. Do a search for EDGE. I'm gonna wait to see if the next update does anything to fix it. If not, I will wait a couple of more months when there are iPhones in stock so I can get a replacement.

ok so you guys fix the problem with the iphone 4 bumper case , the problem is that my iphone 4 cost too much money to put it in a case that doesn't protect that much , i have my iphone 4 in a really protective case , and i have problems with the antenna , not to much , but i have them , so i suggest to make a really really protective iphone 4 case , that will fix the antenna problem , and i hope you guys do it , dont wait until the iphone 4g or 5

This is a user to user help forum ONLY. You are not addressing Apple here.
The only thing a case does in this regard is prevent you from bridging the small gap in the antenna at the lower left of the iPhone with skin. The only thing. If you have a problem when using any case that prevents this and there are a number of 3rd party cases to choose from - the case industry for the iPhone (all models) is a significant industry by itself, call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

IPhone 4 SIM Compatability/Antenna Problems

Basically, Im buying an iPhone 4 and wanting to use same contract on a Micro Sim, will everything work ok on iPhone 4?
Specificly, I currently have an iPhone 3GS on O2 with Unlimited Data, Unlimited Texts and 600 minutes. It is an iPhone Tarrif but i was wondering if i got O2 to send me a Micro SIM still on my same Tarrif (as i have about a year left on my contract) would everything still work on the iPhone 4 when i buy one? i tried to talk to O2 about it and they said it will work but i might not be able to use certain features (which was very unspecific and not very helpful). Anybody else tried to do the same thing?

Since you're running a seed version of iOS, you need to take this up in the forums to which you have access as an Apple developer program members. We can't help with issues involving iOS 5 in these public forums.

Yes, the problem has been completely solved since I bought the Body Glove iPhone 4 case at the AT&T store in my local mall yesterday, 6/29/10.
I am not an Apple Fanboy. Just reporting the facts of my experience.
I had the Antenna Problem big time before buying the Body Glove case.
No antenna signal problems now! No dropped calls for 24 hours!
New purchasers of iPhone 3:
I suggest you remain patient for another week; I bet this general problem will be solved. You can still return your phone within 14 days.
You can even go back to your iPhone 3GS or 3 for a week until there is a fix. Or, just buy an iPhone 4 Body Glove case from AT&T.

I do live in Pittsburgh, PA. Maybe AT&T signal is stronger here. But, I did have the problem before buying the case.

Can two people share the same Apple ID on two different iPhones and maintain different passwords? Yes, there is more to the story.

I have an iMac, and iPhone. I've had my Apple ID for a few years.
My wife got an iPhone 4S a few months back and the salesperson at Verizon set her Apple ID the same as mine, but gave her a different password. I don't know if this was ok, but that is what happened.
So, yesterday, we both upgraded to IOS6 and I had no problem logging in to my iPhone with my Apple ID. When my wife went to log in, she was told that she was entering the wrong password. We entered the password over and over again and still was wrong.
The question is... can two people share the same Apple ID on two different iPhones and maintain different passwords? (I have the feeling her iPhone is thinking that since it's my Apple ID, it wants my password.)
If not, can I still set up a new Apple ID for her even through she's had the iPhone for a few months?

You shold follow your feelings, its probably right most of the time.
You can have 5 different devices hucked upp to one Apple ID. What I have done is that my wife and I have one Apple ID, when I bye a new app on my phone, She gets it to. Thats nice.
You can allways set upp a new Apple ID for your wife.

Iphone 4 problem with car connection.

Hey, I have been using an xcarlink ipod adapter in my 2006 Mazda six since about December and up to a few days ago it was working perfectly fine.
Now whenever I plug my iphone 4 in I am no longer able to browse my songs on it, instead all it says now is "accessory connected" and has a white screen with a small outline of the ipod on it, I can go back to main menu but cannot select songs anymore.
I have tried restarted my iphone, I have checked the cables, It has nothing to do with the most recent iphone update because I used it and it worked fine after I updated it til a day later.
Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Since my last post, I have been to a Vodafone store to see whether they have come across this problem before.
They hadn't, but were very helpful, they tested my iPhone with a different sim card, and then my sim card on a different iPhone 4.
We have discovered that it is the operating software on the phone.
My iPhone has the latest 4.2.1 software, but the other iPhone 4 had ios 4.0.2.
Voicemail works absolutely fine with 4.0.2!!!
I now need to find out how I can get this version of software onto my phone - then all will be resolved.
Can anyone help?

Lumia series and antenna problems - true?

Just found a very odd recently made study of mobile phones antenna performance. It seems to be serious science, but the results are most definitely not in Lumia's favor. Actually Lumia 925 is rated as the phone with the worst results - which seems ludicrous to me. It's the first I've heard of antenna problems with the series. Can anyone confirm or deny problems with the antenna on recent Lumia models? What are your experiences?

It is normal for the signal bars on the phone to fluctuate as it jumps between different cell towers, and both the cell towers and the phone adjust their transmit power all the time. Different phones have different behaviour of the signal indicator. The actual antenna performance can only be measured in a controlled environment, like the nerds from Aalborg University do in the PDF link in the first post.
In real life the antenna performance of my Lumia 720 is on par with my N8. In poor coverage they both give up in the same places. The behaviour selecting 2G or 3G is different though, since the N8 favour 2G when talking while walking or driving, where the Lumia always want to hang on to 3G whenever possible.
Regarding the Aalborg University antenna test, these people are independent and serious about what they do.
Please read the whole PDF, so you'll see that the poor performance is only when held in a phantom hand towards a phantom head, in the right hand, as seen in the cover picture, and that it mainly affects the GSM900 (2G) frequency band, on the devices tested at the time.

IPhone camera problems.

Ok. I'm running 3.1.3 on iPhone 3G.
Recently my iPhone just decided that it wasn't going to let me take pictures anymore. All it allows me to do is open the camera app and it shows the camera shutter and that's all it shows and a restart of iPhone doesn't work and a restore of iPhone doesn't help. I don't know what the problem could be. It hasn't gotten any water damage or any physical damage to cause this to happen. I really wish someone could help ! I love to take pictures of funny things and show my friends. Now it used to be jailbroken but I unjailbroke it about a week after 3.1.3 came out and it hasn't been jailbroken since. This problem just started with my iPhone about two days ago.

Hello. I have just purchased a used Apple iphone (8GB)from a local salesmen that sells used items for a cheap price. (For example I purchased this phone for the low price of $200.00). After I purchased it I took it home and, with the instructions given by the salesperson, I jail broke my iphone to a Cincinnati Bell Network Plan with my current SIM card. I realized the iphone worked perfectly as if it was brand new, except for one thing, when I went to take a picture the camera didn't work correctly. While researching my iphone's problem on the internet I have not seen a problem quite like mine. I will explain: When you open the app for "camera" on my iphone by clicking on it the camera comes up, but instead of showing on the screen what a normal camera would show, it simply shows a screen that looks to me as what a closed lens of a digital camera would look like if the screen were to show you. It looks like a closed camera lens every time I open up the app with a small icon on the bottom which symbolizes a camera. When you click on the camera icon the iphone does nothing and acts as if you clicked on nothing. To solve this problem I have taken it back to the salesman to ask for help. He took it in for 2 days in which he said he would fix it. When he returned it he sated that he fixed the problem and all I would have to do is put a different camera app on my iphone. However after trying 3 different camera apps, which i wasted money on, I am still left with the same closed lens look on every camera app I have installed. All the camera apps on my phone, new and old, do not react to any touching of the screen after open to open the lens or take a picture. They just simply show the "closed lens" look on the screen, thus NOT fixing my problem. Thank you for any help you can address my problem with. It is much appreciated and if I can fix this problem I won't feel as if I have wasted $200.00 and counting on my iphone and the apps I have installed to fix the issue addressed above.

i have to administrate 3 iphones in our company. there will soon be some more of them. what's the best way to administrate all of them central?
can i do this with only one apple-id and one itunes-installation on my computer? i've seen, it's possible to get different iphones in itunes, but how about the apps? when i download them into itunes, they are avalaible for all iphones i connect with my pc. so i have to decide, which apps i will synchronize with the phone? that will be very difficult, when i get more of the iphones....

sorry, i am still not able to get the informations i need out if this document.
my problem is, that i should administrate all devices for the use in office. therefore we use the app ianywhere mobile office to sync with outlook. i have to install this app on all of out iphones and i have to do also the updates for this programs. if there is a firmware-update for iphone, i have to do this.
but the iphones are also used private, so that the users can also install apps.
so, how can i administrate these different devices with may itunes on my pc?
when i sync the different iphones, i have all apps in my itunes and i can't see the difference between the iphones, so i don't know which app is on which iphone?
sorry, i don't know how to describe the problem better, but i also can't find informations therefore on the net. i just find a lot of information, that iphone is not really a business-handy?!?

IPhone 3G Died, now detects as different iPhone, lost everything.

Hello Everyone,
My iPhone 3G had problems before, so i called T-Mobile for repair, however it wasn't covered by the warranty so i got a revised iPhone.
At that moment iTunes didn't see that iPhone as a different one.
Now it started having problems again, and after it died, en restarted again, iTunes now recognises this iPhone as a different iPhone.
This means, in short that i lost everything, all my paid apps, photo's and most importantly, all my contacts.
Is there any chance of me getting (some) of my stuff back?

No, it does not.
All of your media should be in the iTunes library on the computer.
Contacts should be synced with a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Relying on a single device, especially one as easily lost or stolen as an iPhone is simply dumb. Have you failed to regularly copy the pictures off the device to the computer?
Data is only lost if you have made the conscious decision to NOT sync and regularly backup the device as intended.

Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID

If so that is not the charger ,that is the cable
The charger is the device that plugs into the mains socket

How do I use three different Iphones on one computer?

I have three different iphones being used in one house. So far only one has ever been uploaded and saved to iTunes on the computer itself. I've been scared to do the other two devices in fear that somehow all of our apps will combine or be lost. None of us have the same apps or music. How do I go about adding the other two phones?
