A different uploading problem

I have read through the discussions and see that a lot of people are having an uploading problem. I am too, but my problem is a little different. When I upload my photos, everything seems to be fine, all the pages turn from blue to red, and it appears to be done. But, if I quit iWeb, it says it hasn't finished uploading. When I go to the site on the web, everything is there. So, it seems to not be finalizing the last little part where it marks the files as uploaded.
I am using iWeb 1.1.1.
I have tried deleting the files from my iDisk and uploading again.
I have repaired permissions.
I have deleted the file com.apple.iWeb.plist
It's not that I'm trying to quit too soon, I have left it for hours, even overnight, and it doesn't complete.
There's a small circle to the right of the word site that fills in to show progress as it's finishing, and that gets to the point where there's only a small sliver of white.
Any ideas? Thanks for the help!

  • Need a fix for Muse upload problems to GoDaddy????  I found one!

GoDaddy now has a new cpanel named "Plesk".  In that panel you will find File Manager.  (I use the Windows version).  In the left panel of File Manager, you will see the root directory and all of its subfolders.  When you click on any of these folders, you will see their contents in the right panel.  You will also see a folder labelled "httpdocs".  This is the default folder that is set up in GoDaddy to be your "home" folder.  So, to fix your upload problems, do these steps:
    1.  Click on the httpdocs folder to see it open in the right panel.  In the toolbar above the right panel, you will see a green plus sign with the word "New".  Click on this drop-down menu.
    2.  Choose "directory"
    3.  Type in the name of one of the folders that your site will need, e.g. images, css, assets, scripts, etc.  This basically creates a subfolder within the httpdocs folder, right?  (There is a way to see how your Muse site sets up these folders prior to publish or upload.  You do this by choosing "Export as HTML" in the File menu of Muse, creating a folder on your desktop (or wherever) for the HTML export, then inspecting its contents after your save it.)
    4.  Continue to create all the subfolders within httpdocs that you will need.  Unfortunately, you have to do this one folder at a time.
    5.  After you have them set up, begin the process of uploading your site, like this:
    6.  In the File menu in Muse, you'll of course see "Upload to FTP Host ...".  Click on it.
    7.  A dialog box will open.  In the top text field, type in your website name ... you must use www. with your entry
    8.  In the "FTP Host" field, type in your domain name again like this ... "ftp.yourdomain.com" ... NO FORWARD SLASHES!!! (even if you find instructions to the contrary, like in Filezilla)  (Also, your domain might be a .org or .net, instead of a .com)
    9.  In the "Host directory" field, YOU MUST ENTER "httpdocs"!!!!  Despite what you learn, DO NOT LEAVE THIS FIELD BLANK!!!
    10.  Then enter your GoDaddy username and password.  (If you set up a different username for your GoDaddy account and your Plesk account, like I did, then use your Plesk username and password.)
    11.  Click on "Upload:  All Files"
The next few steps are tedious, but necessary to keep your site organized on GoDaddy and to keep from confusing things.  You can probably get away with it, but, if your site doesn't load properly in a browser after doing the above steps, you'll need to click on each folder in the root directory that you copied as a subfolder in the "httpdocs" folder and delete the files.  For example, in the left panel of File Manager, you'll see the root directory.  Click on the "images" folder.  If there are any images that you need for your site in that folder, delete them.  Remember ... you've already copied them over to the images subfolder in httpdocs during your last upload described in the instructions above.  If you don't trust that you can delete them, click on the "httpdocs" folder, then click on the "images" folder and check the files.  Same files, right?  So, go ahead and delete the site files that you find in the appropriate folders in the root directory, making sure that you don't delete the ones that are NOT duplicated within the "httpdocs" folder.  Also remember that your .html pages will not require a subfolder to be set up in the "httpsdocs" folder.  They can just sit there, looking pretty.  But you will have to delete them from the root directory to keep things tidy.  Just click on the folder icon next to "root directory", and you'll see those html pages in the right panel.  Again, delete them.
REMEMBER:  To keep your Muse uploads to your GoDaddy site error free, you must ALWAYS make sure that "httpdocs" appears in the "Host directory" field in the "Upload to FTP Host ..." dialog box in Muse.  And all files and folders that your site needs MUST go in the "httpdocs" folder in the root directory of your site in GoDaddy's File Manager (now found in your Plesk Panel).
I hope this wasn't too confusing.  If so, call GoDaddy.  I called them with this fix and they are using it in their phone support.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was going out of my mind. And GoDaddy was no help (although they're usually really good.) I put all the folders in "httpdocs" and the website worked perfectly!

  • Foto upload problem to facebook, ipernity, flickr

I have a really strange problem when I try to upload fotos to Facebook, ipernity, flickr and other foto sites.
when I upload a Foto from my camera Sony DSC-HX5V, then the foto is destroying while uploading. After the upload I see a foto but only the upper half side is ok, the rest is grey or has some parts of the foto but on the wrong place. (see example)
This effect I have in ipernity and flickr.
on Facebook the upload process never ends, when I try it with the same foto 5-10 times, sometimes the upload is finnishing and then the foto on my facebook page is ok.
Here is the original Foto of this example:
I have tried a lot of things:
upload in different browsers with all the different uploaders from ipernity, flicker, facebook
upload with different upload tools from ipernity, flicker
upload direct from iphoto to ipernity or facebook
I have tried different formats: jpg, png, tiff
different resolutions, also with the original files from the camera
in google and apple support community I didn't find something like this
The problem must be on my Macbook Air, when I copy the fotos to a USB stick and upload it on my old windwos computer, everything work normally!
I have now OS X Mountain Lion an I thought that this upgrade possibly solve my problem but it isn't...
Is anybody outhere who knows such a strange problem?
    Thank you

I should be more specific.  If I take a picture with the mini and upload it to Facebook before saving it to the mini, the picture will upload.  If the picture gets put into the camera roll and I try to upload it to Facebook later, it will NOT upload.  Is there a setting that I need to change maybe?

  • Uploading problem with Ebay and Dreamweaver MX

I am unable to sync websites with Dreamweaver MX 6.01. When I connect to the remote server, it shuts down the program. I have reinstalled the program, but it still does it. Also, when I use Safari, Opera, and Firefox to upload photos on Ebay, the upload process fails completely, and blows me directly into My Ebay, as if I was not on the selling page at all. I have to go to my PC to do the photo uploads. Seems like it may be a related issue, some kind of uploading problem with Rosetta, or something. I am using a Macbook Pro with the 2.0Ghz processor, connected with ethernet cable, and firewall is set to off. Any ideas?

For E-Bay you might try the following:
Type the following command in Terminal (while Safari is NOT running):
    defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1
Then launch Safari, and you will be able to use the new Debug menu.
If you ever wish to disable it again, just repeat the command with a "0" instead of a "1".
Under the Debug menu, you'll see the User Agent sub-menu; select Windows MSIE 6.0 from the list and then try connecting to your web site
Dreamweaver you might need to update your version.

  • Uploading problems with Safari 4.1.3 -

Hello, I just thought this was a funny question to ask -
On my PowerPC G5 tower, running OS 10.4.11, and my question is in regards to Safari version 4.1.3 uploading problems for facebook and youtube... I always have to use FireFox version 3.6.13... and not without trouble either.
I get it.  I need a new computer, but I just thought it fascinating why one works 90% of the time and the other never works.

Firefox is way more upto date than Safari in 10.4.11, but TenFourFox is the most up to date browser for our PPCs, they even have G4 & G5 optimized versions...
    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
Also I think they Require Flash &/or Java, which may be a problem in 10.4

  • Is Safari the problem?  upload problems after Leopard install...

I installed maximum ram and leopard 10.5 on my old emac and it runs great. I had problems uploading photos to ebay, and attachments to emails, so I installed ilife hoping the upgrade would fix the problem. Nope, when I attempt to upload, the icon just spins and spins, on and on. Could this be a Safari problem? Very frustrated, totally stumped.

I'm not sure how to link to the iPhoto post thread that help me solve my upload problem. But it is solved. I had to resize the jpeg pic files to 640x320 because my files were way to big. Thanks Old Toad!

  • Cover design preview a different colour to what is uploaded problem?

Just wondered if anyone has had this problem and if anyone has any suggestions. Every time I upload the new cover, it has a horrible dark blue tint to it which isn't on the original pdf file. This is the second cover I've uploaded for my book and I don't recall having this problem originally.
Has anybody else experienced this problem? Does it affect the final product?
    Thanks,
    Hannah

It's a fairly common problem that has been discussed numerous times over the years.
Lulu converts the image used for the Preview , but not for the book, into a Flash rendition.
You have to redesign the cover image to meet both requirements of the cover and of theme preview. It may take a number of iterations to achieve what you want.

  • File upload problem in java servlets

    hello,
I want to upload my files.i have used Multipartrequest object. In my form i had included enctype="multipart/form-data".
I want to upload one or more files .
So, I made a file input box and then a select option box. With the help of java script i stored the values of the file input box to the select option drop down box.In this way i stored the name and path of the file in the select option drop down box also. Now when i tried to upload all the file in the select option box it is uploading only one file which is the last one selected from the file input box.
I hope that file name is also getting from the file input box, and that is the reason why it is uploading that file only.I write this code to execute it.
    MultipartRequest multi=new MultipartRequest(request,".",5*1024*1024);
I want to upload all the files, so what should i do,
Please help me to solve this problem
    puneet

    Hi,
First go through the Multipart code and try to study what it does.it does not upload all the fields u submit in a form.it will first parse the servletInputStream which seperates the normal form fields and the "File" field.when u say ENC-TYPE="multipart/form-data" the way in which it is sent is different for normal fields and the "File" field.there'll be boundaries for each field.also for "File" field the filename will be passed in the Content-disposition info(which contains the values of form fields, their names and filename(only for File input)in specific format) .so if u want to upload more files in the same submit use two or more "File" fields.
If any one else has a better option let me know

  • FTP upload problems in CS3

I'm using CS3 and have multiple sites w/ different servers,
so I know this is not a server issue, as the problem happens with
all of my sites. I know my FTP settings are correct as I've been
using them for ages and haven't changed them. Starting yesterday,
when I synchronize the local sites w/ the remote sites, everything
works fine. But when I try to put just the index files, I get this
    type of error message:
    index.html - Put operation successful
    mm_spacer.gif - same - not transferred
    FPlogo.jpg - same - not transferred

I can put each one of those image files individually or
during a site synchronization, but not as part of the index file.
What happened and how can I fix it?

I have just resolved my Dreamweaver FTP problem.
For me, it was because Eset (Nod32) was interfering with
uploading. If you have Nod32 protection, try this (if not, I'll
    have another method after):
To fix, open ESET Set-Up (via the full tree) and scroll down
to Personal Firewall > Protocol Filtering >
In Protocol Filtering, un-check the Enable application
    protocol content filtering option.
The other way to find out what might be interfering with your
Dreamweaver's ftp function is turn off all but criticle services
within your System Configuration (run> msconfig; or Ctrl R).
FIRST, however, make a note of what items are checked on and that
    are not. Now...
    Select the Services Tab.
    Click "Hide all Microsoft Services"
Click "Disable all" (but leave on FlexNet Licencing Service,
along with your fingerprint reader access--if you have it)
    Click OKAY.
    Restart your system.
If Dreamweaver FTP works, then you'll need to go back into
MSCONFIG and systematically re-apply services that are not messing
with your Dreamweaver. You should eventually isolate the problem
    this way.
Lastly, Adobe has a tech article on Dreamweaver. Go to
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15481&sliceId=1
That's all I know for now. Good luck.

  • Dashcode And iWeb(mobileme) upload problem

Long story, short, I'm trying to make my Mobile Me Blog RSS feed into an iphone web app. In Dashcode I have the rss template set up and in the Application attributes URL Feed I have : http://web.me.com/username/MyAnnouncesments.rss.xml.
I have already uploaded the site in iWeb.
When I try uploading (deploying) the webapp in DashCode I get this error:
The deploy domain “idisk.me.com” is different from “web.me.com” used by data source “feedDataSource”. This can cause the web application to not function properly.
What is wrong? They are both mobile me hosted so I don't see the problem.
    How Do I fix this?

For some reason, iWeb thinks I own the domain name www.katiehughes.com and tries to post the pages there.
It doesn't actually try to "post the pages there." The only place it can post your pages is web.me.com/username, even when it says otherwise down at the bottom. So it really doesn't matter as far as what is happening to your site.
But go to your MobileMe account settings/personal domain and delete anything which is in there. If nothing is there, you might put in a nonsense url and see if that will replace katiehughes, and then delete that later.

  • Css upload problem

I've just installed CS3 Design Premium and made changes to a
css file and uploaded it to the remote host using the put button.
The page did not find the stylesheet and displayed all over the
place. I then went to another pc and uploaded the same file to the
same place using Dreamweaver 8 and the page found the css and
displayed correctly. I then tried it on a different site with the
same result - CS3 went missing while the same file uploaded with
DW8 had no problems. View source on both pages showed the correct
    link to the stylesheet.
I'm a bit confused - has any body had a similar experience or
    know what's causing this?

IE uses different basic settings for margins, padding, etc. in fact no two browser are exactly the same, this is why so many css 'hack's' are around, and also why if your styles overwrite any other css styles in a css script, 'odd' behavior can occur.
One solution is to always start yor css with a css reset, and whenever you attach a css file or change your css you should always review it.
for info on css reset see: http://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/css/reset/
Another solution is to use IE conditional statments to change the css to IE specific settings
Format for IE conditional statment is:
    <!--[if IE]>
    <style type="text/css">
    enter your revised style here
    </style>
    <![endif]-->

  • IPhoto upload problem

When I try to upload a picture to email I keep getting a color wheel that keeps spinning and it takes forever to get iPhoto to load the pictures

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • Multiple Image upload problem in IOS

In my Application, I have to upload multiple pictures and I have used file upload control.  Application is working fine in IE Browser, Safari (on Windows) and other browsers, but getting problem with the Safari (IOS), After uploading the second pictures, first pictures gets replaced by the new one. This seems to problem only with mobile safari ( on IPAD, IPHONE with IOS 6.1). I have used the standard code <input type=file accept="image/*">.
The flow is like, user will upload 4 pictures and then will hit the save button, but as I upload the another pictures, the other pictures gets refreshed and latest uploaded image is shown in All fields. But on Server correct file is uploaded.  Can anyone help me on this Problem?

Apparently the problem is with the host. According to the
host I was trying to install this on, there is a security issue
with Flash upload programs and they don't allow them. So I tried a
different host (Jodohost) and it worked.
