A DNG Codec for Win7 64bit...Please?

Seriously, It's high time that Adobe
released a salient codec for Windows 7.
Yes...I do like to see pictures rather than some silly icon in Windows Explorer colorspace be damned.
But absent that...Anyone got a line on a free (non-trial) DNG codec for Windows 7 64-bit?
And, Adobe, Microsoft, Y'all play nice now.

Well I downloaded and installed the (latest?) 'dngcodec_r2_042711.exe' codec today ....and it didn't work.
Windows Explorer used to show a basic 'DNG' icon for each file ...Now it just shows generic 'picture' icons instead. Not a lot of help.
I have win7 64-bit, Lightroom 4 etc. and used the 'Make copy as dng' menu option to generate DNGs from Nikon NEF (raw) files, already present on the hard drive, as I wanted to get away from the cumbersome additional 'sidecar' files generated by the ACR engine but it seems I am stuck with them until someone (Adobe, can you hear this?) comes up with a suggested fix or something.
Anyone any ideas?

  • Is Wamp for Win7 64bit good quality?

I just finished migration to a new laptop which involved converting from WIN7 32bit to WIN7 64bit.  I went to download the 64bit version of Wamp but the user feedback wasn't very flattering.  There was only 1 user comment.
Have others used Wamp 64bit and are there any issues I should be aware of?
    Thanks
    Tom

Hi Nancy.  Glad to see your still active and involved in the forums.
My question was very specific to 64 bit WAMP. I've been very happy with my 32 bit WAMP version.  What I want to know is whether to use 64 bit on my new WIN 64 bit laptop?
In my original post I acknowleged that there was only one user comment on WAMP 64 and it wasn't very favorable.  One comment is questionable.
Does anyone have experience with WAMP 64 who can help determine whether I should upgrade to 64 it or download 32 bit on my new laptop?

  • G700 OSD-Driver for Win7 64bit

    Hello!
Today i have installed Win 7 Professional (64bit) on my G700.
It works, except for one thing.
I can't find a driver/utility for the OSD (multifunction buttons like WLAN and Bluetooth)
I've downloaded and installed the "Lenovo Energy Management" for the G770.
By this way the "OSD-Software" was installed and it works fine, except for two points:
    1. there is no option to disable the Wireless Lan Card
    2. the battery is not identified/supported
Is there another way to download a matching "OSD-Software" for the G700?
    Greetings

  • Where is Adobe Reader for Win7 64bit

I installed Adobe Reader XI in my system with Win7 64 bit,and it won't work because is a 32bit. I need to know where can I get the 64 bit. Thank you.

I was looking for the same thing. I'm running Win 7 64 bit OS but I'm using firefox 32 bit because most of the plugings I used are not 64 bit. One I need to find is the 64 bit win 7 adobe reader and flash plugin if you have it.
    Thanks Will M.

  • Bluescreen! Updating Lenovo's nVidia driver for Win7 64bit on my w520

No other messages were found that addressed this:
Audio out  disappeared for no obvious reason playing web content on a TV through the DisplayPort (DP->HDMI adapter) on discrete graphics settings (in BIOS.) Most important, clicking the nVidia icon in Control Panel didn't bring up any dialog or control box/tool. So I went to the Lenovo driver updates for my machine and there is offered a very recent package of drivers for all the machine's graphics: nVidia and integrated. I downloaded that and ran it. On the restart the w520 bluescreened and a repair routine started that took a while to get the w520 booted. Looking at the "System" log there are a series of kernel power Warnings.
    The event text says:
"The speed of processor 2 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report." This doesn't *seem* to be related to graphics...
When the machine was up and running I went to the Control Panel and the nVidia software didn't start from the icon there, so probably no change. Same as before trying to install the new drivers. I had made a Restore Point just before trying the driver upgrade.
The driver package was dated August 2012, I believe. Anyone successfully loaded this set of drivers?

4276-37U -- W520. Still have an X61t. First laptop in my house was an Osborne! Now that was a cool computer. (...for its time!)

Not getting completely solved. I installed the Lenovo driver with a driver file freshly downloaded. Process seemed to touch all bases... screen went to low resolution in the middle of the process. After two restarts needed to return the display to full resolution I see only one "nVidia 1000 Quadro" device under video adapters in Device Manager. I thought the integrated Lenovo device was going to be there, too. Further problem: there is no nVidia item in Control Panel.
My goal is to be able to have beter control over when the nVidia board is running, as I use Lightroom, Photoshop, etc. sometimes. I shoot tethered professionally. So I want to *know* when I have the boost from the nVidia hardware.
Will someone please confirm that I should be seeing the integrated graphics solution in Device Manager? ...and the nVidia control panel in current driver?
    Thanks!

  • VAP for Win7 64bit affects WLan speed - Satellite P300 PSPCCE

I managed to get windows 7 professional (64bit), windows update pretty much installed all the updates.
Without any problems, but there are a few things that it cannot find.
The hotkeys and mouse track pad drivers. I went onto the toshiba site, then downloaded and installed the value pack. All drivers worked fine, but I noticed the drivers provided by toshiba for the WiFi card has made it stick to 65mbps.
I left it for a few hours and the speeds did not fluctuate at all, when i did a system restore and used the original drivers found by windows update my WiFi connection was ranging between 117 mbps and 150mbps.
I dont want to use the toshiba value pack becuase it will ruin the wifi drivers, I tried updating the drivers but they wouldnt work.
Is there any way to have the drivers for the hot key functions and mouse/trackpad seperately?
I would like to use them, If not Toshiba admins can you split them from the value pack so I can install the 2 drivers.
I forgot to mention: I have the Satellite P300 PSPCCE

    Hi
    > Is there any way to have the drivers for the hot key functions and mouse/trackpad seperately?
I doubt this is possible. The VAP is a package which contains different tools and utilities and the whole package cannot be slivered.
To be honest Im not quite sure why the VAP should slow down the Wlan.
    But Ive got a idea;
The VAP contains the Toshiba power saver. It enables some options in Vista power management.
For example there is an option Wireless Adapter Settings -> Power Saving Mode
There are four power saving / performance settings. If your Wi-Fi connection is unstable or slow, try selecting a higher-performance setting.
You can also go to device manager -> Wlan card properties and there you could find some tabs.
In one tab called Advanced you could change the setting to get a higher speed.

  • Connecting to HP LaserJet 5100 printer on Win7, 32bit PC from a Win7, 64bit PC

I'm having a heck a time trying to add a printer that is on another machine. The printer is an HP LaserJet5100 and is connected to a Win7, 32bit pc using a pcl6 driver. The PC I want to add this other printer to is a Win7, 64bit. I went to HP Drivers and downloaded a HP LaserJet 5100 pcl6 driver for Win7, 64bit, and ran it, using traditional mode, on the PC that I'm trying to install a printer to. I chose "Add a network Printer..." and then pick the printer that I want to connect to.   I get a Windows Printer Installation pop up that says "Checking for Windows Update. This might take a while..." and then get another popup that says "No driver found". I then get another pop up to locate the driver. Browsing to the driver files that I just download, I find eleven files of the .inf file type, but none of them are the right file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Qosmio F50 - Need to update BIOS in order of installing Win7-64bit

    Dear community,
I plan to update to Windows 7 64 bit. My notebook is Toshiba Qosmio F50-10M with a preinstalled VISTA32bit.
Is there a need to update the BIOS prior installing the new OS? I read that there is a BIOS update f?¼r VISTA64bit available but none I discovered for Win7 64bit.
    Can you give a clue?
I am confident and glad to own such a powerful notebook but this not completed OS named VISTA is driving me nuts increasingly reading all those nice reports concerning the benefits of Windows7!
Eager to read your welcomed responses
    Yours,
    Starmind

    Thank you for anwering Paolo!
Do I understand the right way? I shouldn´t change BIOS if I don´t encounter any problems?
But I should change the BIOS from 32 to 64 bit if I install the 64bit version of Win7? I intend to do so as I plan to use the full memory of my machine (I use VISTA32 at the moment).
I should change the BIOS prior installing Win7 as I understood as posted earlier?
Thank your for your kind assistance!

  • I need drivers to install Win7 64bit on SSD mSATA

    Hi!
I need drivers to install WIN7 64x on SSD mSATA THNSNH256GMCT
Serial number on my product is 23NS10BFTABY
    Thank you!

This serial number doesn't help much. It will be better if you can post exact notebook model name and model number.
Anyway, visit Toshiba support and download page for your country and if your notebook model is supported for Win7 64bit you should be able to find all necessary drivers, tools and utilities.

  • ESATA over Expresscard W500/Win7 64Bit problem

I am using a W500-4061AK3 with Windows 7 (64bit) and am not able to get my external harddisk running over an eSATA expansioncard (Trust IF-3800p) in the Expresscard slot, although the whole is perfectly working under Ubuntu 9.1. This is already the second card I try, same issue with the DeLock 61748 (Silicon Image 3531 Chipset) ... I have installed all updates via ThinVantage System-Update and all Win7 Updates from Microsoft. I don't know whether there is maybe a driver missing for the W500 Expresscard-slot for Win7 64bit? The eSATA expansion cards are both listed as Win7 compatible. Has anybody successfully used the W500 with an eSATA Expresscard under Win7 64bit? Thanks for your help.

    Hi gryloo,
You can download all drivers for your notebook on this page:

As far as I know for Mass Storage Controller you have to install the card reader driver.
