A Doubt on Customization

Hi,
I read the following in OAF dev guide
Extension is extending the functionality of an aplication using
- Adding new functional flows.
- Extending or overriding existing functional flows.
- Extending or overriding existing business logic.
I understand that Extending or overriding existing business logic is editing eithet AM,VO or VO etc ..in short BC4J objects.
My questions is
What does functional flow mean? Does it mean page flow?
If yes Adding new functional flows OR Extending or overriding existing functional flows is nothing but creating a new Controller or editing the seeded ControllerImpl?
Can you please clarify me on this doubt.

Function Flow means Various real world entities completing a business cycle like
P2P Cycle (procure to pay).
Technically functional flow, a number of pages can be participate but this is always true.
So again "Adding new functional flows OR Extending or overriding functional flows " may required Development , customization, personalization , setups depending on business requirements.

If your customization let us say will using in Turkish language and your customization maden by english than if you want to see your customization in turkish yes you need to create customization for turkish too

Doubt in Form Template Customization Using VSTA

Hi All,
i have doubt in InfoPath form development using VSTA.
I have one form template, i want to auto fill(Using Hard coded) some of fields in that form like name,date and mobile number.

Hello,
No need to use VSTA if you just want to set hardcode values. You need to set rule on form load event. Refer this link to set field value on form load:

Anyway if you want to auto populate user detail from sharepoint then use userprofileservice.asmx service. (YOu will need to create user profile service in your farm to leverage this)

Doubt in infopath customization

Hi All,
i have a infopath form, in that i have one repeating table and one file attachment.
Now, my doubt is when i insert the file in file attchment control, i want add that file to repeating table

So what you want is to copy attachment from 1 item to another. hope below will help you:

Viewer customization doubt

Hai can anyone help me?
I have lengthy report containing 1000s of Records in it..
When i disply this report in viewer,i have to use horizontal scroll bar of IE to view the lengthy report,which will in turn display long page ofit.
But,My requirement is,i want to display the length report in singe page itself..
But plz somebody reply me for this query..its urgent.

because if i have 30columnes i cant compare the heading with column values..
I know the row adjustment setting for vertical extension..but dont know how to set for horizontal extension

Backup of NWDI webdynpro customizations

Is there a way to backup NWDI webdynpro customizations? I have a query.
The webdynpro objects were customized and assembled, thereby creating many 5 KB files of ESS, MSS, PCUI etc. Because of the webdynpro customization, there are hundreds of broken DCs. So I would like to backup all these customizations (i.e. the SCAs files in assemble directory) and the other webdynpro customizations into a seperate place and then proceed with installation of a new track right from scratch, then install the required SCAs and later re-apply those customizations. Is there any way to do it. Points will be rewarded for any kind of help.

I feel that i am in a right track, these are the steps i followed
1. Downloaded SAPLink 1.0.4 version
2. Created a report , activated and executed it
3. Used the downloaded Nugget file as import parameter and executed successfully
4. Downloaded SICF,Webdynpro Component,Application, plugins
5. Imported the .nugg / .slnk files and activated then in SE24,
6. Created a new NUGGET and added an object
a. webdynpro component
b. webdynpro application
my doubt here is it is showing all the classes which i used in my program, do i need to manually import all the classes one by one or it will automatically import all the files which i used,
if you have any idea which are the plugins to be used and which are all the objects need to be added to the Nugget.

How do I customize a Dialog Box theme for my macbook pro?

I am tired of the gray dialog boxes. If possible, I would like to use a picture. I also want a different color bar on the top of the screen. I also would like a different color scroll bars. I also want different options (as in colors) for cursors. Thank you!

I have no doubt that someone with too much time on his hands has written something you could use to customize your dock, cursors, dialog boxes, menu bar, and all manner of other things. What I'm suggesting is that that's a dumb thing for him and you to waste time and energy on, and a silly and completely unnecessary risk with little or no benefit. If you have things to get done with your computer, do them, and don't get bogged down fooling with the eye candy.
And by the way, no one owes you answers to your questions. Everyone here is a volunteer.

Customization in Production

Hi.
We know there is a way to do it because we did it long time ago, but we don't remeber how to do it again.
What we are looking for is a way to change Master-data in the Production system.
Instead of changing the Master-data through SPRO in the Development system and transport the change as a Request, there is a way to export this customization activity from the IMG to a regular Transaction, transport the Transaction to the Production system and there you can use this Transaction to update the Master-data.
What we don't know is how to export the SPRO activity to such a Transaction.
Any help will be appreciated.

It depends on what exactly you want to change
as a matter of fact you can change the master data using mass maintainance Tcode MASS, also you can upload the data through LSMW/BDC , BDC would be more effective as you can validate your uploaded data but through LSMW, this validation of data is kind of tough.

I have doubt on userexits

I have developed some code in standard SD userexit for VA01 tcode for my own functionality.In standard SD userits some zincludes are there in that include i wrote a code for my requirement.My requirement was successfully worked.But my doubt is if someone use same tcode va01.In this situation my requirement was globally imacted to others or not? Please clarify my doubt.Userexits means without modifying the SAP standard functionality we can add our own functionality.

Userxits allow us to add our own functionality to SAP standard program
without modifying it . These are implemented in the form of subroutines and hence are also known as FORM EXITs. The userexits are generally collected in includes and attached to the standard program by the SAP. Or
when there is a need for customization, then we require User Exits. This is ABAPer Job..he will find User Exits in SMOD Transaction and impliments it in CMOD Transaction. Customisation in the sense, changing the sap standard program.

Change of Lookup Codes shall amount to Customization?

Dear All,
We are going to Implement Withholding Tax as a Workaround for Retainage in Payables Module.
We would like to change Invoice Distribution Type Lookup code from 'Withholding Tax' to 'Retainage' so that anybody,who is having a look at Invoice can understand the amount adjusted as Retainage.
My first doubt is, Whether this will be treated as Customization? (Remember we are changing the Meaning of Lookup code and nothing else).
My Second doubt is, Whether Lookup Code Meaning change will have any affect on any Patch Application? (Some Patches will check the Lookup codes)
Please Clarify.

Changing meaning of lookup code is NOT customization.
And it will not cause any problems in patch application.

Customize local layout in PO create

Hi all,
I created a SAP transaction iView for PO create.
We have "Customize local layout"(It is the last one in the tool bar) option in ECC6.0. I couldn't able to get that option through iView.
Do we need to make any setting changes or won't we get it through iView?
Can any one help me in this regard?

BDC/LSMW Doubt!

Hi Friends!
1) Could u pls tell me when to use BDC & When to use LSMW I am a technical Person i want to load data using LSMW Then when to do that? apart from doent need programming effort.
2) My Second Doubt is From LSMW, Suppose i am doing lsmw in development system can i transport the lSMW to Production & upload data to prod server just like BDC
or
I ve to do lSMW in production System to upload data in prod server
Since I am saving i am nor getting development class & transport req, that why.
Could u pls help me to solve my issue.

BDC is for loading master data and LSMW for transaction data
BDC
BDC is basically for customized applications.
In bdc we have to give mapping concept explicitly.
It basically uses recording.
BDC is used by technical consultants , who do coding.
Coding can be done flexibly to customize applications.
LSMW
In lsmw mapping is take care by sap.
lsmw is basically for standard sap application.
LSMW offers different techniques for migrating data say : Direct input , Batch input recording , BAPI , IDOC
LSMW is basically designed for Functional consultants who do no coding .
Coding cannot be done flexibily as BDC.
Yes you can transport in LSMW! There is an import export option in extras of LSMW initial screen.

How to customize the iTunes storefront?

My issue with iTunes music store is that it pushes content I don't care for.
How can I customize the selection displayed upon entering the store so that it reflects my tastes and curiosities better. (A bit like Amazon keeps track of what I bought and makes suggestions. Not that I buy it, though.)
Basically I want to keep out all 'Top 10 lists', 'Most bought', etc and advertising related to what is deemed fashionable in pop where I live (Germany) and get instead more and better info on what I really like - jazz, world music, classsical.

Doubt in Solution Manager Workflow

I have created one workflow for support disk. I used BUS2000116 business object. Before that i created Z business object for BUS2000116. Bcos i need to include events and methods (Customization). So i created ZB2000116. After that i selected delegate.
My doubt is when i creating workflow (in Task) in SWDD, which business object i can use ZB2000116 or BUS2000116..
Can i use BUS2000116 ?

I always use the standard object. So if SAP changes any method or attribute I will have the latest version, and I don't have to do these changes myself.
Because you delegated the subtype you can use the standard object.

E-Rec 6.04 Doubts with transaction pa48.

Hi,
We are on E-Rec 604 with seperated standalone e-rec system.
When I run pa48 transaction y realized that I have two doubts.
First of them is that if there is a customizing table to change the action type wich propose for the two options, New hire and Internal movility.
I know that using the combo I can change if I need another action type, but I suppose that there must be one table to customize that so I can´t find it.
The other problem is that when I chosse a candidate for a New Hire in the secuence of infotipes in the action type 01 (New Hire) there is the 0006 infotipe in the secuence and in our client this infotipe should not be appear. When I go to see the infogroup that is used in this action type the infotype 0006 doesn´t in the list, so I imagine that there is any dynamic action which is the responsible of that... But I can´t find it... And we want to delete it...
Could someone guide me, please?.

Hello Esther,
The action type defaulted in PA48 is always the first one from table T572F.
IT0006 is a pre-requisite infotype in E-Recruiting, so we send the address from the external candidate to HR and request it also if the internal candidates are then transported to E-Recruiting back.
