A family member has Parkinson's disease so we bought an iPad. Any tips?

We bought our aunt an iPad the otherday and tought her how to use it for the first time.  24 hours later, she is expressing difficulty using it, especially with Siri and audio support.  She is in a care center and contributes the audio difficulty to the noise when she tries to give the iPad commends.  Does anyone have any tips for someone with Parkinson's disease and how to make it more simple and enjoyble?

Have you considered discussing with your national Parkinson's Society ,they probably have a wealth of data which may help

  • "A family member has already bought this item" error?

When I try to purchase the Minecraft- Pocket Edition app, I get the following message:
""A family member has already bought this item.
a family member has already purchased this item. To download it again for free, select OK."
(I press ok, then the error pops up)
"Could not purchase 'Minecraft- Pocket Edition'.
The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."
my devices can launch and go through iTunes without issue, so I know they are connected to iTunes, it just won't allow me to download this app. This issue is present across my iPad, iPhone, and MacBook Pro, which are all running the latest operating system they can.

You just purchase the app. Are you running into some sort of issue when trying to purchase it?

  • Hello.  I just bought my first Imac.  Each family member has created an account.  My question is: can each account/family member create their own imesssages, so that each family member can imessage privately?

Hello.  I just bought my first Imac.  Each family member has created an account.  My question is: can each person use imessages privately when logged into their account?  instead of everyone seeing everyones imessages?  is there a way to do this?

I believe the short answer tot that is "yes" however I recommend you contact AppleCare to find out You have 90 days of free AppleCare telephone support when you buy any new Mac. This is the ideal time to begin using it. I'd also recommend that you purchase AppleCare, it will extend your 1 year warranty to 3 years and offer you 3 years of telephone support in addition to other services. You can locate the correct phone number in your part of the planet (Calgary, Canada??) by clicking Contact Apple for support and service

  • A family member has given me her iPhone. How do I delete her Apple ID and replace it with my own

A family member has given me her iPhone. How do I delete her Apple ID and replace it with my own ?

Any Apps that have been downloaded with her Apple ID will remain Tied to that ID...
You should consider doing a Restore as New and start over with your ID...
Connect the Device to the iTunes library on your Computer, click on the Device tab that appears in iTunes and click Restore.

  • App store will not let me download the free Yosemite because a family member has already done so.  Can I get it under family share?

I went to download the free version of OS X Yosemite, and when I clicked the "free" button a message appears saying that a family member has already downloaded it and the only option I have is to buy it.  Can I access the free version through family share? If i leave family share can I download the free version?

We don't want you to leave your family!
I think that the best thing would be preparing an USB loader of the Yosemite installer and then use it for new installation process.

  • HT4528 A family member has iphone that she had disabled because not remembering the password... now it is locked and we were told by verizon to hold power and home button til it shut off .. now what come back on at all.. HELP

Any ideas here on how to reset without hooking a phone up to itunes when it has been disabled and it is now frozen in what was supposed to be a recovery mode. We have called the carrier with no help and I have searched the internet. Any help at this point would be great. I can't help the person because I am 1 hour away from them and do not have the phone in my hands.

they need to connect it to the computer/itunes they normally do and restore it as new.

  • My factory reset has taken over 2 hours and still isnt finished any tips?

P.s. it was jail broken and I did this to remove it

    Jailbreaking sometimes messes up the iPod;
Jailbreaking voids the Apple warranty and also means that you will not get any support from Apple, including from this Apple forum. Jailbreaking can't be discussed in this Apple forum.

  • If I want to add a family member who is not in my household and has their own itunes account and credit info...

If I want to add a family member who is not in my household and has their own itunes account and credit info...will all their purchases be charged to my credit card as the Organizer?

    Hi mbostick,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
The only way a family member can use their own funds and not the Organizer’s account for purchases would be with store credit, such as an iTunes gift card.
    Family purchases and payments
    Making purchases
After you set up your family, any time a family member initiates a new purchase it will be billed directly to your account unless that family member has gift or store credit. First, their store credit will be used to pay the partial or total bill. The remainder will bill to the family organizer. As the family organizer, any receipts generated by the transaction will be sent to you. Learn more about how iTunes Store purchases are billed.
    Have a great day,

  • How do I add iTunes gift card to just one family member?

I have 4 children under 13 and they're on the Family Sharing Plan, but when one gets an iTunes gift card, I want to add it to just his or her account so the siblings don't use it.  How do I do that?

You should be able to log into their account and redeem the gift card onto that account, it should then only be available for him/her to spend - if using your computer's iTunes then log out of our account via the Store > Sign Out menu option, that will then change to a Store > Sign In option

  • HT201382 Our family all bought each other gift cards for Christmas and set up our iPads to family sharing.  When any family member makes a purchase, it will only be charged to the credit card and NEVER the gift card amount! WHY? Is there a way to fix this

We just set up family sharing on our iPads and we all have$50 of iTunes cards that have been placed on our accounts.  Why can no one in the family redeem the money from their itunes cards... Instead being charge ONLY to the "organizers" credit card? This is driving us crazy? Now all our Christmas present have gone to waste? Can anyone help?

    Hello there ssyer,
Family Sharing purchases do all go to the Organizers credit card by default, that is unless there is an existing credit or balance on the account requesting the purchase according to this article:

  • Can my minor daughter have her own account as my family member and charge purchased to her own credit card?

Currently I family-share my iTunes with my minor daughter.  She purchases songs which are charged to my bank card.  l would like to set her up with her own apple id so she can purchase her own songs and use her own bank card, but still share so I know what she is purchasing and how much she is spending.  is this possible?

    Bank card - no.
    Gift cards - yes.

  • Contact I did not add using a family member's pict...

There is a contact on my account useing a family members picture that has been hacked from another family member's account.  I did not add this contact and my family member has deleted their account.  Why?  and what should I do

Thank you for your inquiry and the suggestions from our valued community members. Adding to what was stated, anyone who upgrades to the iPhone would need to activate it via iTunes. The upgrading line's voice mail box will be deleted and then needs to set up a new voice mail box.  The saving of the information of the voice mail prior to upgrading to the iPhone is suggested unless it is not needed. When doing an upgrade on a line, it will have the new 2 year agreement regardless of giving it away.
The one who wants the iPhone on their line will repeat the process with activating it via iTunes with their voice mail box being deleted and re set up just like the first line that upgraded performed. However, once the voice mail box process has been completed on both lines, one after the other during the activation process it does not need to be done again on either line. As far as the warranty, when giving selling your phone to another, the warranty is voided and is not able to be transferred.

  • Family wants to blog - is this possible?  Page per family member?

OK, I can create a blog and then entries through IWeb. But I want a page where my sister, Mom, son, etc. can also post blog entries. Does each of them have to have IWeb to do this? They aren't all Mac users - will my site support entries by different people? Or do you have to be in IWeb to post content to a blog? Thanks!

The new, free, web-based Posterous is as simple as blogging gets — it's all done via email:
Once each family member has set up their blog at Posterous, you could hyperlink to each one from a page on your iWeb site.
