A family of 5, have new iphone 4s phones.Because we shared an itunes account previously, now when installing the new phones, it does not allow us to update to individual itunes accounts. How do we change the accounts for each phone installation?

Because we shared the itunes account previously, on installation of the new devices, the computer does not recognise individual itunes accounts.
So all 5 devices are sharing the same itunes account!!!

The iTunes stores in different countries are entirely separate. You can only use an iTunes store credit in the country in with it was created and purchased content cannot be shared across countries. Family sharing groups must be country-specific, using iTunes store credits for purchases only within that country, and sharing purchases that were made in that country. I think it must be an IMAP account then, & in Mail>Preferences>Accounts>Advanced>Keep copies for Offline viewing:>Don't keep copies, then on the Server, or maybe it's just this one itself, but on the Server you have a setting to remove eMails after 30 days.
If it's a POP account we'd have to investigate that... but you didn't say so I'm guessing here. -
I have an iphone 4 that I recently upgraded to IOS 7, and now I cant drag music to it. It says "preparing to update" eternally. Weird thing is... I have an iphone 3s that is IOS 6, and it takes new music all day. arg.
I have tried direct connecting the iphone 4, via wifi, everything. I hate itunes with a passion, but it seems to be a necessary evil. I dont know why I would have no trouble with my iphone 3. I am using the same technique for both phones. Find the music I want in the library and drag it to the iphone. Works on IOS 6, not IOS 7.

If you are having issues dragging music to your iPhone 4 after a recent upgrade to iOS 7, you may want to verify that the phone is still set to "Manually manage music and videos." You may find the following article helpful:

I think i got ripped off by this verizon store , I got the 4 line $140.00 edge plan, which I had to pay for the phone in monthly payment, i did the math it was 268.00 total.. At check out this guy charge me $50.00 care package for each phone and sim card which was $10.00 , $25.00 set up with TCP and he said the rest was tax. I had to pay $474.36.. my brother went to costco and did the same verizon deal he didn't have to pay anything...

My computer was reimaged and iTunes was deleted, now when I try to sync my ipad it says it is synced with another library? How do I sync with the newly installed iTunes without losing all of my data on my ipad?
Copy all the content on your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes. Then go ahead and sync the iPod with your new library.

The ipad music app does not allow me to play certain tracks that i have synced via my itunes. The tracks are clearly visibly in the music app but when tap on them to play they wont play. what do i do?
Agree about the disaster part. I haven't found a fix within iTunes.
I gave up and switched to downcast 2 days ago. Even though it was a hassle to re-subscribe to all my podcasts, im so much happier.
To make switching easier, I found that in iTunes you can "get info" on the podcast and copy the RSS address to the clipboard. Put all of these in a message note. When iCloud syncs the note to your phone, you can copy and paste the urls into downcast one at a time to subscribe.
Downcast has crashed on me occassionally when I'm subscribing to feeds, but so far it has recovered gracefully each time and no data was lost. -
I got a new cord to charge my iPhone 5c. After a few weeks it stopped charging
sometimes when I do plug it it does not indicate thAt it's charging but the percentage goes up.

Honestly i cannot remember sorry, i got it like 5 maybe 6 yrs ago and just started downloading things to it as the memory on the computer started filling up and when i wanted to see photos/videos on my TV.
My wife did tell me after i had written this post that she did try and record TV to it as it was plugged in. I think by doing so somehow has deleted everything. It reads on my TV yet has no files in it but won't show up on my computer. hope this helps.
Starting to think it is going to cost more to retrieve files on it than it will be to buy a newer and larger one. -
Rejected by the server...does not allow relaying
I have 3 Verizon Email accounts, when I try to send an email from my iPhone, I get the following message: "The recipient "[email protected]" was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying. The "[email protected]" is the account I am trying to send the email FROM on my iPhone.
I was able to send and receive my Verizon email on my previous cellphone; Samsung Omnia.Okay, I solved my own problem with the help of a thread on another site. I am posting my findings here in the hope it may help someone else.
1. Go to Settings
2. Select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
3. Select the email account with the problem (being rejected by the server...does not allow relaying)
4. Scroll down to "Outgoing Mail Server"
5. Select SMTP (mine says "SMTP outgoing.verizon.net", because my email account is with verizon)
6. Under "Primary Server" select the server (again mine says "outgoing.verizon.net")
7. Make sure Server is ON
8. Make sure the User Name and Password are filled in (mine was Not filled in)
9. Click "Done" in the upper right corner of the screen
10. Now go back to the email account screen
11. Click "Done" in the upper right corner of the screen
That's it, it worked for me and my email went out right away. -
just bought a new I-Mac. At start up several updates were needed. The I-movie one stopped and shows an ERROR HAS Occurred. Howevr it does not allow me to update it again. In my purchases it shows as Installed with Error. What should I do?

My iPhone 4 does not allow me to update to ios5. There is no "software updates" listed under settings and general where this is usually found?
You will need to connect the iPhone to the computer and iTunes and update in that fashion. Since the OTA update ability was introduced in iOS 5, if your device has an iOS of less than iOS 5, you will have to do it that way. After updating, you will be able to do subsequent updates OTA.
Connect to iTunes, select the phone in the device pane and select update. Also, you will not be able to update to iOS 5, you can only update to the latest iOS, which for the iPhone 4 is iOS 6.1.3.
