I am a student studying in Korea, majoring in applied IT & engineering.
The reason why I an writing this e-mail is to ask a favor to your company.
Actually, my friends and I are applying for a contest which is about 'what can we learn from other foreign companies that can contribute to the development of our country?'.
And we have looked up for several companies regarding our topic, software, and we have decided our target which is one of the finest company in the world, Adobe.
It would be really appreciated if you give us a chance to visit, and learn about your company.
Our scheduled visit is around Feb.

Why I didn't invest in the AE ecosystem today

Hi!
So today I noticed that Video Copilot has 25% off from their products during a 5 day period. I have been drooling for the Element 3D plugin and I was pretty much sold. I actually put the product in the shopping cart and came very close to finalizing the deal.
Then I started thinking.
While Element 3D allows for amazing things, it's still limited by the lack of advanced 3D-features in AE. One of the biggest problem for me is the lack of a proper physics engine for AE (I don't think Newton works with 3D) and the limited 3D-compositing workflow (no nodes for example). There's no mesh editing, shape keys, rigging, uv-mapping, real simulations... Why would I actually want to take stuff from a real 3D program like Blender and bring it to AE only to have all these limitations? I admit for a moment I still felt tempted to do so and that's because I feel so comfortable in the AE interface. But if I use any program long enough, I will feel comfortable eventually.
So the question eventually became this: Which one will be a better use of my time, learning to use Element 3D with AE and trying to overcome all these limitations or learning more and more Blender? And when the question became that, also the answer was obvious: Blender is an amazing, rock solid program that gets loads of new features almost every 3 months. AE is a "mature" Adobe program, which Adobe has stated wont be seeing as much development efforts as totally new programs. This is also evident based on how little major new features AE has gotten during the past 3-4 years. I would say Blender develops in one year more than AE has in 3-4 years.
AE is dying in the hands of the current Adobe management (I do not refer to Todd Kopriva, but the higher management). The competition is just way ahead now. And with the cloud extortion scheme people everywhere are looking for other programs.
I do not want to place a bet in favor of Adobe's future. That means also AE is going to be in trouble with the competition. That's why I decided not to buy Element 3D. The decision made me kind of sad since the price of the plugin was not bad and I really love Andrew Kramer. I wanted to buy it and support Video Copilot. I just couldn't do it because of the direction Adobe is heading. I really hope Andrew will take his amazing skills and start looking for alternative ecosystems so that I can support them in the future.

I wouldn't write off AE so quickly, but as an AE and Blender user I do feel that people sometimes don't give Blender a chance because it's "free", and people have difficulty believing that something free can be powerful or valuable.
AE is in a very good position as the industry standard; I'm aware there are some high-end options out there as well but AE does a good job for what it is. Add to that the fact the most advertising agencies are built around an Adobe-based workflow ie. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc, and integration with AE is pretty good. I don't see it disappearing anytime soon.
Cloud subscription - yes it's expensive. I calculated over 3 years it's the same as paying outright for master collection. And then paying for it again the next 3 years, and so on. Ouch. I think maybe too expensive; I think Adobe will have to reconsider pricing as people are faced with realities of what is affordable. If I was comfortable that I could do everything that I needed to in Blender - I wouldn't hesitate cancelling my cloud subscription. I need to learn Blender quicker!
But the Element 3D question, it's a handy looking plugin (I have not used it), but yes ultimately you can do anything you want in 3D if you learn a 3D app, whereas using Element is a stylised workaround that has great initial results but limited flexibility.
I would personally say that Blender is at the point that it can fit well into most professional workflows

Converting magazine pdf to online pdf magazine viewer

I tried to search to look for this info but the search
feature has been throwing errors for me the last couple of days.
What I'm trying to do is see if CF has features or functions that
would allow me to use the pdf files used for print production of a
magazine to create an online magazine viewer on my web site. I'm
specifically looking for the forward and backward navigation,
search, links and so forth. I've seen plenty of sites using this
type of viewer/reader but wonder if this is something I could
create using Cold Fusion.

If you want to *create* an online reader, then you are
talking about
Windows|Mac|Linux desktop programming to create a client
plug-in for
browsers. ColdFusion does not really do this.

DW CC new document types limited?

I just installed DW CC, and the dialog for "File...New...Blank Page" is limited to 12 types, and the starter layouts are also few. (For example, just 2 layouts for a HTML page).
CFM and CFC are not even on the Page Type list.
I do see the starter files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CC\configuration\DocumentTypes\NewDocuments.
I'd assume there's an XML or index of these types -- is there a way to get it rebuilt?

You can add back some of the database functionality with the Legacy Extension http://blogs.adobe.com/dreamweaver/ but DWCC dropped ColdFusion support, along with pretty much everything else, in favor of Adobes ColdFusion Builder.
Many people are leaving their old version installed to work with data in their sites. Add your voice here, and maybe they'll add it back...

As for the base layouts being gone, that's another can of worms. I'm not sure if you can just edit a program file to add those back, but I'm sure if you can, someone will be along to explain how.

Fireworks CS4 Sucks

I installed Fireworks CS4 on my Mac.
The text engine is all kinds of screwed up, and after working
on a website layout for 5 hours (saving regularly), Fireworks
crashed, corrupting my file in the process.
I'm uninstalling Fireworks and reinstalling CS3.
This is just plain unacceptable from a company like Adobe. If
the product isn't ready, don't release it.

I gotta vote yea for fireworks cs4 as well.
I use it for quick bevels, alpha glows, buttons, textures, text, photo tweaking and alpha masking. Quick is the keyword.
I do not use it for layout design.
I come from a dreamweaver/fireworks history. I now am getting into after effects for animated banners.
I personally prefere fireworks over photoshop and illistrator, although a text extruder in fireworks would be nice as well as 3D rotation.
I have not had the struggle with crashes that i read about here.
I Have had a lot of problems with Microsoft's Expression suite.
In fact i have abandoned working with the microsoft product at all for now.
But!!!! I am about ready to upgrade my PC and laptop to win 7. If something goes wrong, I'll probably blame Microsoft and not Adobe. That tells me that i'm biased in favor of Adobe.

Layer appearance targets and overprint attributes glitch

When a layer appearance target has been assigned "multiply" and an object on that layer has been assigned "overprint" the file behaves abnormally. Please address this issue.

You're using circular reasoning. It's the classic PeeWee arguing technique "I know you are but what am I!".
You're assuming that I want this feature to work out of intentional reasons. Have you given it a second thought that I might want this feature to work in the advent of "accidental" overprint attributes that may come from other people/firms?
Of all people, I'm surprised you are in favor of Adobe NOT fixing a feature they have given us.

"Copy files on import" checked and greyed out in elements organizer 12

Elements organizer 12. Importing from hard-disk. Want to import without copying files, but the box "copy files on import" is checked and greyed out.
Remains so even when selecting a fresh jpg file. (Import with copying is not a good option: eventually more than 50.000 pictures and videos are to be imported -
I would have to delete my main media file structure in favor of adobes internal storage. Major hassle right at the start of using adobe's software..).
What can I do ?

If you are also using iPhoto; Elements will make copies to your hard drive to prevent corruption of the photo Library. The choice is Organizer or iPhoto to manage your images or you can use iPhoto together with the Elements Editor; in which case you need to set Elements as your external editor within the iPhoto settings.

Es uno de los "Efectos" de Photoshop. Ya no recuerdo gran cosa del arcaico CS, pero en el CS3 lo encuentras fácilmente en la paleta (o panel) de Effectos, si elijes la opción de mostrarte no sólo la ilustración sino tambien el nombre de cada efecto en dicha paleta.

New features in Adobe Muse 2.0

The following is a list of features now available in Adobe Muse:
Align Palette
We've added a new Align Palette, available from the Window menu, or by clicking on the new 'Align' control in the control strip.
You can use the new Align features to align or distribute selected objects relative to each other, or to the page content area (which is the area from the bottom of the header to the top of the footer).
Asset Upload
You can now link to any external file (i.e. PDF, .zip file, .dmg or .exe) and add a hyperlink to it to enable users to download the file from your web site.
All linked assets will be uploaded / exported along with the rest of the Adobe Muse site, in a new 'assets' folder.
Code Generation Improvements
We've improved the HTML code generation for Adobe Muse 2.0 in several areas. Shadows, Glows, and Gradients now use CSS instead of generating additional images.
We've eliminated many cases where we generated duplicated HTML nodes. We've also changed our JavaScript framework for our widgets from Spry to a smaller, faster framework called WebPro.
These changes make the export process faster, and Adobe Muse now generates less images and smaller HTML files.
Shadows and outer glows are represented using CSS box-shadows instead of rasterizing.
Fixed the naming of images exported by Adobe Muse which have been either resampled or cropped before exporting.
Background images that have been set to "Scale to Fit" or "Scale to Fill" are now exported with the 'contain' or 'cover' background-size CSS property, respectively.

We've added a new Form widget to the widget library.
You can easily configure the form to send the form submissions to multiple email addresses, and optionally redirect users to another page after submitting the form.
You can add and remove fields, and style the form as you would other Adobe Muse elements. You can independently style the various states of the form, and form fields to provide a compelling user experience, with visual cues for error states, empty states, and more.
Because Form processing requires server-side support, Adobe Muse forms are configured to work when published to Adobe Business Catalyst. If you make changes to your form and publish again, Adobe Muse will make the appropriate changes to your Adobe Business Catalyst forms.

Font Improvements

The font UI displays an automatically generated list of recently used fonts. The number of recently used fonts to display can be configured and list can be cleared.
The font list can be filtered by font family (e.g. “Myriad Pro”), weight or style (e.g. “Bold Italic”), a combination of these (e.g., “Myriad Pro Bold Italic”), including partial names in any order (e.g., “It Bold Myr Pro”).
Adobe Muse now uses platform-independent references to fonts, so Adobe Muse documents can be exchanged between Mac and Windows without failure to resolve font references.
Adobe Muse displays localized font names (if available) based on the application locale, rather than system locale. Adobe Muse documents can be exchanged between across application locales without failure to resolve font references.
FTP Upload
Adobe Muse now includes the ability to FTP to the host of your choice by selecting File > Upload to FTP Host in the Adobe Muse menu.
Adobe Muse's FTP upload dialog allows you to specify the host, subdirectory, and login information.
Adobe Edge Integration
If you publish an .oam file from Adobe Edge, you can place it into Adobe Muse. All required images, CSS and JavaScript content will be uploaded at Publish or Export time.
As with other placed content any changes made in the source Adobe Edge file and re-saved in .oam format will be detected within Adobe Muse, and you can use the Assets Palette to update the content in Adobe Muse.
Language Support
Japanese and Italian localizations have been added.
Specific Japanese features include the addition of Japanese web safe fonts on the font menu as well as support for Japanese IME, including text input and double-byte text.
Ruler Guides
Adobe Muse now includes the ability to drag guides onto a page from the Horizontal or Vertical ruler.
Page items snap to guides when moving, but guides are not exported.
Adobe Muse supports selecting multiple guides on a page.
Sitemap.xml
Adobe Muse now creates a sitemap.xml file for better search engine optimization when the site is hosted somewhere other than Adobe Business Catalyst. You can exclude a page from the sitemap.xml file (if you don't want search engines to find it) by setting an option in the Page Properties dialog.
Browser Fill Improvements
You can now set a gradient on the Browser Fill. (Note: Opacity, Focal point and Size are not available due to cross-browser compatibility and usability standards)
In addition, you can now set your browser background image to fit or to fill.
Control Strip Improvements
The Adobe Muse control strip now has collapsible control sets (similar to Illustrator). As you expand the width of the Adobe Muse application window more controls appear.
Additional controls have been added to the Control strip – States, Transform, and Align. Text controls are now available when text frames are selected, not just when you're using the text tool.
Drag and drop styles/swatches/colors
You can now drag and drop a Paragraph style or Character style onto a text frame to apply the style to the text.
You can also drag a Graphic style into a page item, or the page to apply it.
You can drag a Swatch onto a page item, page, or browser area of a page to apply background fill.
You can drag a Color (via dragging the color preview area just above the RGB edit boxes) onto a page item, page, or browser area of a page to apply background fill. You can also drag a color to the Swatches palette to create a swatch of it.
Hyperlinks
The Hyperlink control can now be resized so that users can see entire URL. We've changed the label of the hyperlink option “Title” to “Tooltip” to help clarify where user enters the hyperlink destination information.
New Selection Visuals
Hint labels now show when you hover over elements on the page. There is a new preference to turn this display off.
Groups and widgets are now indicated with dotted line containment rectangles.
When a page item cannot be resized in a specific direction we now show an “X” instead of a missing handle.
Widget Improvements
Slideshow and Composition widgets now include a numeric stepper for controlling the Auto Play speed in seconds rather than Off, Slow, Medium, Fast.
We've added Shuffle as an option to the Slideshow and Composition widgets so the slideshow or composition contents play in random order.
Changing a Menu widget from horizontal to vertical, or vice versa, now does a much better job of preserving size and spacing.
Changing the state of one part of a widget at design time now changes appropriate sibling parts to the same state to more closely mimic browser behavior.
Based upon customer feedback, we renamed the following:
"Fit Width" and "Fit Height" to "Uniform Spacing"
"Uniform Width" and "Uniform Height" to "Uniform Size"
Other assorted improvements
Shift + Return/Enter will create a soft return instead of a carriage return.
Control/Ctrl + Tab activates next tab.
Control/Ctrl + Shift + Tab activates previous tab.
Option/Alt + click a page tab will close all open page tabs.
Option/Alt + click a site tab will close all open sites.
Holding the Shift key down while resizing an image allows you to perform a non-proportional resize.
The X, Y, W, H, and Angle edit boxes support duplicating and transforming the selection if you hold down the Option/Alt key when you hit Return/Enter or Tab.
If you enter a value in an edit box you can do a Shift + Enter to apply the value AND keep focus in the edit box.
Select Same feature added which selects other objects on the page that are the same type as the object currently selected and can be used through Alt Control Shift A and the Context and Edit menus.
Added feedback to rotation tracker so you see the angle next to the cursor as you rotate.
Changed rotation display values to be between -180 and 180 to match other Adobe apps. Previously it was 0 to 360.
Publish dialog has a new FAQ link to help users understand the implications of publishing.
Upload to FTP and Export to HTML workflows now have a ‘Domain Name’ input field. This is used for generation of Sitemap.xml and for enabling Typekit web fonts.
The display of 100% width items on iOS devices is now enabled.
Adobe Muse now produces functional submenus on iOS devices.

Not all of the listed email recipients on my contact form are receiving the inquiries.    Muse allows me to add several email addresses separated by a semi-colon (see below from Corey Wrote) but only one of the three addresses are receiving the contact form inquiries.

A serious error occurred that requires adobe Premier pro to shut down

Por favor alguien ha solucionado este problema?. Me ocurre solo después de haber exportado el proyecto como AVI, si lo quiero volver a activar aparece el mensaje "a serious error occurred that requires adobe Premier pro to shut down".
la solución que aparece en un foro de eliminar ciertos softwares de sonido no funciona porque no tengo esos programas.

Wanting Photoshop CS2 or 3 for Mac can no longer trade my version thru Adobe

I currently have Adobe Photoshop CS2 for Windows, but I just recently got a iMac that I want to use Photoshop on. I called Adobe and they can no longer send me a Mac version in place of my windows since it is an older version. They said check on here and hopefully someone would be kind enough to upload to me or send me the Mac version.
Here is the system info on my iMac OS X....

Intel Core 2 duo
2 GHz processor speed
memory 1GB , 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
I would love any help I can get. I have a lots of photos I want to photoshop on my new (to me) Mac and I can't !! Thank you in advance for any help :)

You miss understood they meant perhaps you could find someone here who had an extra license they would be willing to sell you, even if they did not use those exact words.
If your iMac supports CS4 it would cost you the same thing more then likely.
BTW legal or illegal if you used someone else's cross grade install it would be a waste of time as your windows serial number will not work on the Mac version. The $20 fee for the cross grade is for the Mac serial number which you can only get from Adobe but they do not sell it anymore.
Illegal or not it would not work, the support meant perhaps you could buy a Mac license for CS2 or 3 if someone wanted to part with their license for some reason.
Do yourself a favor upgrade to CS 4 if your iMac supports it and if not upgrade your iMac as well. You will be much happier, much more productive and it will prove more profitable.

Adobe Staff pushing the Cloud

Why is that the Adobe Staff is pushing so hard we all get on the cloud. Here ya go Swing over to Yahoo and see that The baord voted to reinstate the 2003 Equity Incentive plan.
Equity Incentive is stock options that incease the amount of shares to by 17.5 mil so at a 45 dollar a share price we are talking about 18x45 810 milion on stock. I think the employes should get paid well. For sure but as for the cloud it is a profit beast set up to get 2x or 3x more money out of you a year.

The plan with the cloud is to "Funnel" you into the free or promo price then the price goes up.
Adobe said its Creative Cloud exceeded 500,000 paid individual members and free and trial memberships exceeded 2 million, which the company said could lead to more paid membership.
The company said it added about 153,000 net paid subscriptions during the first quarter and that it expects to reach 1.25 million paid subscriptions by the end of this year.
A Win Win for everyone the share holders see high earnings the staff see some stock options. The only looser is you the consumer. Sorry Adobe be truthfull with us without us you do not thrive!

Do yourselves a favor get off the cloud let Adobe come back down to earth. Watch the stock drop. Then upgrade as normal next year if you do there will an Adobe to buy from in ten years if not they may go away. If you own the stock sell ASAP the insiders are!

If I update to Lion from 10.6.8, will Adobe CS4 "upgrade" work?????

I have Adobe CS4 from an "upgrade". Will these adobe programs work if I upgrade to Lion? Please, need an answer ASAP, so I know whether to make my next computer a Mac or a PC!!!! It is absolutely ridiculous that my friend, who has at least 8 PC computers ( including business computers) is able to use all features of icloud using Win7(which is 16 months old), and I cannot use it on my "Apple" antique using 10.6.8(which is only 9 months old) (2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) for the same purpose.
I have never even had a PC, always an Apple product. Now I get slapped in the face, HARD. Apple just killed me for EVER buying another Apple computer, if I am unable to use ICloud with my computers which WILL run my adobe products. I also have an IMac Intel Core duo 3.06, two IPads and a new Iphone. and now I am done with Apple products I guess, if I have to update to Lion to use ICloud with a computer. Especially if Lion doesn't support my current expensive suite of CS4(UPGRADE), and other Apps. What on earth is Apple trying to do, phase out of computers totally? Have a relative who works for Apple, and no one can figure out why the company is so favoring the PC people. The only thing I can come up with is that Win7 is a far superior program to OS10.6.8, and is likely vastly superior to the current joke of "Lion", and the upcoming "Mountain Lion". At least Snow Leopards have some dignity, and honesty in their "live" form. "Lion" is aptly named after an animal widely known for killing and eating cubs of its own species. Mountain Lions are sneaky, creepy stalkers, who attack suddenly without notice, and kill animals off efficiently and quickly. Male Mt.Lions also are known to kill the young of their own species, even their own cubs. I guess these new OS's are aptly named, as they certainly are killing off those who have been faithful to Apple for so long.
I can buy a PC running Win 7, with the speed, programs, etc., that I need, for far less than a new, comparable Mac, which it seems will require me to purchase all new expensive Apps. (Adobe CS+), etc.
Why is Apple unable to either 1) offer its previously totally faithful adherants the ability to use its ICloud service using 10.6.8, which only came out 9 months ago (while Win 7 and Vista users can use the service easily), or at least make its new OS, work with expensive Apps owned by people, which work on 10.6.8, but will not work, so I hear, on "Lion" (and presumably not on "Mountain Lion" either).   Apple is/has turned into a predator of the worst sort, without a single thought or care about previously faithful customers.   WHY?
Also, off my wagon and back to my question; will an "UPGRADE" of Adobe CS4 work with the latest updated "Lion"? Thanks!

I went to that page. Basically, it didn't specifically answer my question, or I am too dense to find the answer. I understand that there are a few problems with Photoshop, which is the main use (of mine). I could live with what it says. I also found that there were problems with CS4, and using the brush tool, when I updated to 10.6.8. Found a fix to that by updating my Quicktime. Why that works, I have no idea. I am not a computer whiz, in fact at the other end of the spector, but read on a discussion that this updating of Quicktime worked, so tried it, and it did!
This community is a life saver for me. I live in rural Wyoming (I guess all of Wyoming is rural.....) and no one knows anything about Macs. All my problems have been solved by you great people! And I thank you !
My present concern is: I read somewhere else, that if my version of Photoshop, which is CS4, was purchased as an "upgrade", which it was, then maybe it will not upload to "Lion", as maybe the disk (upgrade), I have, may use Rosetta, which is NOT included in "Lion".   What I have read is that I would have to have a "new" (not an upgrade) version of CS4 in order for it to work with "Lion".   Anyone out there know the answer???? Photoshop users?????
Geniuses???? If you know, please help me out here. I love my Macs, but really am irritated that the friends I have tried to talk into buying Mac computers, but didn't, now can enjoy all the advantages of ICloud, with an older version of their computer program (Win 7 OR(!!!) VISTA, and I cannot !!!! Here I sit, with my 2 beloved Macs, both fairly new, 2 IPads, a new IPhone, and I am the one that cannot use ICloud?????? Was it in fact made for PC people, who have become Apple consumers through iPhone and iPad, and not made for the faithful, longtime Apple consumers???? HELP!!!!
