A few general agent questions

We've been asked some general questions by our agents that I have been unable to find answers for, (although 4 and 5 are likely working as designed). We are running IPCC Express 7.0(1)SR05_Build504 and these are all phone agents. We do not run the agent desktop client. Any assistance in answering these questions would be greatly appreciated.
1. TransfertoVM softkey "grayed out" while on a CSQ call. Can it be enabled?
2. While logged in to CSQ, is there a way to start dialing prior to
lifting the receiver?
3. Is it possible to handle more than one CSQ call at a time, e.g. put a call on hold and answer
another CSQ call.
4. Upon selecting Agent Login (single-button login), can the agent automatically be put into Ready?
5. Upon Logout, can the phone be returned to the main screen, rather than getting the manual agent login screen?
Again, any assistance in answering these questions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Roger

Hi
1) Isn't that an IPMA softkey? Never tried it, but whilst it's not in the 'unsupported' list, I wouldn't expect using any IPMA features in conjunction with CAD would get you good results. If it doesn't cause you stuck/ghost calls, I would expect erroneous reports...
2) Being logged into a CSQ doesn't affect the way the phone works.
- You can dial the number then either lift the handset or hit dial (for speakerphone)
- You can press speakerphone or headset then dial
I guess what you are referring to is if you are using the IP Phone Agent in conjunction with a headset? If you are, then the IPPA usually obscures the 'new call' and 'end call' softkeys that you might use if you leave the headset button lit. I guess this isn't the case, as you refer to lifting the receiver? Unless you have motorized lifters.. If that's what you have, you can try getting users to either :
- Manage their onhook/offhook state using the headset key as if it was the speakerphone key (i.e. press it to hang up or pickup)
- Use a headset/phone combination that supports HHC
- Switch to CAD, or CAD-BE if you can't install PC software for some reason.
3) No. The system is designed specifically so that this should never happen.
4) No.
5) Again, no... you can't customize the BIPPA service... If you use CAD or CAD-BE this wouldn't be an issue.

Aaron

  • General OIM questions

    Hi All,
    After reviewing the OIM Administrative and User Console, I have a few general questions below. Any answers or references to relevant documentation will appreciated.
    Regards,
    user10233157
    •     As far as constructing a delegated administration model is concerned, what functionality can be delegated? What is Oracle's rationale behind providing this capability?
    •     To what extent are bulk operations supported? Do bulk operations only apply to the search results for the simple and advanced user search?
    •     To what extent can the existing self-service functionality be customized based on the currently logged in user? Does it only depend on the "Menu Items" and authorization policy associated with a user's role?
    •     To what extent can the user interface be customized and enhanced with additional functionality? For example, can we easily add a password strength indicator or change the look-and-feel?
    •     How does OIM support/enforce segregation of duties (SoD)?
    •     Provide an overview of what can be achieved with custom approval workflows? Can the workflow be controlled by external configurations such as information stored in a role/resource catalogue?
    •     Can we leverage our current SOA infrastructure, i.e. can we use our existing Oracle Fusion Middleware solution to execute approval workflows?
    •     When it comes to resources, how are entitlements managed? Is it via roles? For example, a FTP server has two kinds of users: those that can only download files (read access) and those that can both download and upload files (read and write access). If this FTP server was added as a resource, how would entitlements be managed for the different kinds of users?
    •     Unpack the architecture of OIM to provide insight as to how various fusion components or capabilities are integrated/used.
    •     Can notifications be sent using external notification services, e.g. SMS? Can we create our own events to trigger notifications?
    •     Unpack the SPML webservice interface and format provider. What operations are supported? What are the limitations?
    •     How is the actual provisioning mechanism implemented? What if the provisioning process takes long to complete? How are many concurrent provisioning requests handled?
    •     By default, the OIM repository is a DB. Can it be a directory? Do we have other choices in this regard? To what extent can the existing schema be modified?
    •     Are all transactions (initiated via users, administrators, connectors, scheduled tasks, etc.) logged? If so, how can this information be accessed?

    It would be good if you attend some OIM training. ;-)
    • As far as constructing a delegated administration model is concerned, what functionality can be delegated? What is Oracle's rationale behind providing this capability?
    Attribute Level. Few user can modify only few attributes.
    • To what extent are bulk operations supported? Do bulk operations only apply to the search results for the simple and advanced user search?
    No. You should read about Bulk Orchestration. It may help.
    • To what extent can the existing self-service functionality be customized based on the currently logged in user? Does it only depend on the "Menu Items" and authorization policy associated with a user's role?
    You mean Self Registration ? There's no limit defined by oracle for Customization. If you know ADF then you can create a new UI for yourself.
    • To what extent can the user interface be customized and enhanced with additional functionality? For example, can we easily add a password strength indicator or change the look-and-feel?
    You mean Self Registration ? There's no limit defined by oracle for Customization. If you know ADF then you can create a new UI for yourself.
    • How does OIM support/enforce segregation of duties (SoD)?
    It is same as we have in OIM 10g
    • Provide an overview of what can be achieved with custom approval workflows? Can the workflow be controlled by external configurations such as information stored in a role/resource catalogue?
    Yes
    • Can we leverage our current SOA infrastructure, i.e. can we use our existing Oracle Fusion Middleware solution to execute approval workflows?
    Currently No

    It depends only upon the design which create for an Enterprise.
    • Unpack the architecture of OIM to provide insight as to how various fusion components or capabilities are integrated/used.
    • Can notifications be sent using external notification services, e.g. SMS? Can we create our own events to trigger notifications?
    Yes if you are capable of doing that then you can integrate those with OIM.
    • Unpack the SPML webservice interface and format provider. What operations are supported? What are the limitations?
    See the doc for operations supported. It is mentioned there
    • How is the actual provisioning mechanism implemented? What if the provisioning process takes long to complete? How are many concurrent provisioning requests handled?
    Ask Oracle and Need to wait or find the root cause
    • By default, the OIM repository is a DB. Can it be a directory? Do we have other choices in this regard? To what extent can the existing schema be modified?
    No DB is must. you can use OID
    • Are all transactions (initiated via users, administrators, connectors, scheduled tasks, etc.) logged? If so, how can this information be accessed?
    Yes. OIM is used for Audit so these things are mandatory. Not sure what kind of information you need.

  • General Upgrade Questions (Hardware/Leopard)

    Greetings:
    I have elected to forgo getting a new MBP, and have decided to do some upgrades to my current MBP. I have a few general questions:
    1. I am upgrading to 3GB of memory. I have read that some people are putting in 4GB, even though my model can only utilize 3.2 of it. To me, it seems like a waste of $$ to go the full 4GB. Any opinions?...
    2. I am also upgrading to Leopard. I am using Final Cut Studio 1, but am upgrading to V2 in the next week or so. I am constantly in the middle of some project or another. I have heard the war stories about upgrading software in the midst of things. If I go to Leopard and FCS 2, is there anything I need to be aware of? I will also be using Logic Studio in the near future...
    3. I have purchased a 7200 RPM 200GB Hitachi HD. I plan on pulling my old one out, and putting it in the Hitachi case as a backup drive. I know there are some things to look out for when replacing the drive. While I'm confident I can do it, is it best to spend the $$ to have an Apple Cert place do it? I'm aware of the warranty issues) Also, any preference between the Hitachi and the Seagate models?...
    4. Finally, given what I am doing, are there any tips on doing these upgrades? I do have a Bootcamp partition installed and am currently running Tiger 10.4.11. Do I need to upgrade Bootcamp? Can I install Leopard, without trashing my Bootcamp partition? Any suggestions on backing up and restoring from my current applications?
    Thank you in advance for your comments and suggestions. While I don't post very often, I follow the forums on a regular basis and hope to be able to learn and contribute more...
    Blessings,
    Craig

    A1 - People are upgrading to 4G namely for performance reasons. The chip-set requires matched-pairs of memory to enable the dual-channel memory addressing mode. This could boost the performance of the memory by up to 50%. Mind you, if you aren't doing something that is really hitting memory hard, then it won't make a difference. If you're doing something like running Adobe After Effects, you will notice a difference.
    A2. Not that I'm aware of. FCS2 ought to deal with FCS1 projects just fine. BUT, I wouldn't suggest you bet your livelihood on it. It'd suck to be that 1 in 1000 of users that encounters a problem.
    A3. You better than anyone have an idea of your skills with regard to purchasing the hard drive. I'm guessing that if the drive is a model other than one Apple sells, it would void the warranty even they installed it. Of course, if a technician forgets to ground himself you get a new computer. If you forget, you get a paperweight.
    I'd suggest getting an external firewire drive over upgrading the internal drive, though. For the following reasons: you can buy much larger 3.5" drives, you can buy firewire RAIDs, you can buy faster drives (up to 15K RPM), the cost-per-gigabyte is lower, and an internal 7200 RPM HD will adversely impact the battery performance on your laptop.
    A4. Leopard comes with BootCamp. The Beta version that worked with Tiger should have expired already and ceased operation. Leopard will install without mucking up BootCamp if you do an upgrade install. If you reformat the disk, clearly it would be wiped out. Best to back it up, regardless.
    Backing up is most simply done with apps like Carbon Copy Cloner and SuperDuper with an external HD. I would suggest a FireWire one for performance reasons and because you can boot of an external FW disk.

  • Some General iPhone Questions

    As I consider buying an iPhone, I have a few general questions.
    1. What are some possible improvements that can be done to the iPhone by Apple via software updates? When do you think we will see these updates?
    2. What are some of the possible improvements that can only come from purchasing a second generation iPhone?
    3. I want to make this my ONLY phone and ditch a land line for the first time. Is the clarity any better than your average cell phone?
    4. I'm not hard of hearing, but some reports have said that the volume is low (for phone conversations) and difficult to hear when used as a traditional phone without headphones. Are there settings on the phone to raise the volume? Can this be a software update from Apple if this is indeed a problem?
    5. This would be my first time switching carriers. If I want to keep my current number (from Verizon) would I cancel my service there first or would registering the iPhone via iTunes do that for me?
    Thanks,

    1. What are some possible improvements that can be
    done to the iPhone by Apple via software updates?
    When do you think we will see these updates?
    Since there have not yet been any updates, no one knows for sure. But any improvements in the apps and widgets would definitely be one possibility; also firmware upgrades
    2. What are some of the possible improvements that
    can only come from purchasing a second generation
    iPhone?
    Everything can be improved on an updated phone, particularly implementation of 3G.
    3. I want to make this my ONLY phone and ditch a land
    line for the first time. Is the clarity any better
    than your average cell phone?
    This is very subjective! I find it to be no worse nor no better then most phones I have owned.
    4. \Are there settings on the
    phone to raise the volume?
    Yes
    Can this be a software
    update from Apple if this is indeed a problem?
    Unknown, but should be possible.

    registering the iPhone via iTunes do that for me?
    If you cancel service with Verizon first - you will LOSE that number!
    I do not believe registering the old number with AT&T will automatically cancel your service although AT&T MAY do this.
    It would be best to talk to AT&T as to the proper method prior to or at time of purchase.

  • Some general C7 questions

    Hi all,
    Purchased a C7 recently and just wanted to ask a few general questions, rather than creating a thread for each one.
    Does anyone know if there is a way of deleting all messages at the same time. Seems it can only be done one by one?
    With regards to the battery, what are your experiences? I find it is running out before the end of each day. It's strange because I gave it the initial eight hour charge and then a couple of times more after to make sure. There is no excessive use at all, just normal.
    Also, where can I see what version software I have?
    Any responses would be greatly appreciated. Excuse my incompetence, still getting used to the phone and all, quite different from most other phones I've had.

    Also if you go into Optionsin Messaging, select other and set show messages in groups, and your messages will be grouped together by date, so you can do a mass clearout and still leave the messages from the last day or two if you wish
    It will not affect your battery however long you leave it on charge as the electronics in the phone will stop charging once fully charged, and also giving the phone a 'top up' during the day will cause no harm as modern batteries do not get any 'memory effect'
    Good Luck

  • A few post config questions on new setup

    Hi Group,
    Just a few post config questions.
    First, how can I confirm my controller is in fact associating properly with an NTP server?  On a typically cisco product, I could just do a 'show ntp associations' or a 'show ntp status'.  I cannot see a way to confirm this on the gui or command line.
    Second, on my guest network with web-auth, if one were to choose to not use https for web-auth and instead use unsecure http, would that be possible and if so where in the gui?
    Thanks.

    The third field is from a WLC running v7.4 not v7.2.  I usually would install a 3rd party certificate, but what eles you can try is issue this command on from the CLI.  It had issues working with certain code versions, but you might as well give it a try.
    config network web-auth secureweb disable
    Thanks,

  • I am in Thailand and the US version I downloaded has Thai script interface - how to change ? The preference for general agent locale is already set to US Enlish

    I downloaded the US version in Thai and the interface is in Thai script - I checked the general agent locale and it is set to English US. How do I get an interface I can read ?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == I downloaded the US version in Thailand

    See:
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/change-firefox-behavior-when-open-file
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/File_types_and_download_actions
    Current Firefox versions remember the download directory based upon the URL, so if the URL changes then the default folder may be chosen if there hasn't been selected a download folder before for that server.
    You can disable this feature to remember the download directory via the Boolean pref <b>browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite</b> on the <b>about:config</b> page.
    The browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite pref doesn't exist by default (it is a hidden pref), so you need to create it.
    Create a new <b>Boolean</b> pref with the name <b>browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite</b> and set the value to false.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/about:config
    You can delete the content-prefs.sqlite file in the Profile Folder to only remove settings stored in this file and keep the exceptions that are stored in permissions.sqlite that would be lost if you clear the "Site Preferences" via Clear Recent History.

  • General dreamwevaer question

    hello dreamweavers.
    im a newbie going to use dreamweaver from next week and beyond,so id like to ask the following:
    should i design the website in photoshop and then import it into dreamwevaer,in order to code it?
    is dreamwevaer flexible in design point of view,or is it mostly getting finished designs such as headers,footers,flash banners,
    and then building up the site where things so and such.
    thank you.

    Hello Nancy.
    seems like an informative website,i can see it is easy to understand the

  • A few general questions

    Hi there everyone
    I have a few questions i need a bit of help on
    1. I came to the realization yesterday that my cpu was not running at the correct speed, since i am a little slow at times. It is a Athlon 2000+ 1.6 Ghz, but the cpu was running at 1.2, so I pushed up the fsb from 100 to 133...Now my temps are running 5-8c higher (idle 44-47c and to 49-53c at load playing Neverwinter Nights).
    Is that normal?
    2. I bought some extra fans to see if this cools the case better. I have now 2 in front (intake) , one in back (out), and one on the left side vent...Question is on that vent is it better to put that one as intake or outake? It is directly horizontal to my CPU (where I have a volcano 9 cpu cooler).
    3. How often is it good to run the cooler xp on PC Alert? I was thinking I could run that quite often, especially when playing games cause it cuts the temp down to 28-30c!! Would that put too much stress on your fans? How often can I run that?
    4. I have the kt4-ultra 6590, I installed the IDE3 drive as a 13 gig IBM deskstar, I have read up a lot on RAID, but I do not know what I do with this drive....None of the faqs really tell you, except a lot of technical jargon. My question is thus: May I use this drive to install applications and games? Or should it be left empty or for backup or performance write booster? I have two 40 gig seagates as primary and slave on IDE1 so i am not really hurting for space i was just wanting to know if this thing can be useful.
    My Thanks to anyone who can answer these questions for me

    Well, Allied PSU's were once considered to fairly good for most systems. These days, they really lack the power output needed by modern systems.
    3.3v 24a +5v 35a +12v 0.8a Also, the 3.3V looks to be a little low, at 24A, and this could be the reason for the alarm by PC Alert. Gaming with a modern system will show any weakness in the PSU. You probably never had this happen before, due to the CPU drawing a little less power while running @100FSB.
    Keep an eye on this, and if it continues, a new PSU should be considered, but remember that "400W" means very little when it comes to most PSU's. High amp ratings are what matter. Most people here agree that Antec and Enermax PSU's are among the best brands.

  • A few general java.nio.* questions

    Hi,
    I've been reading up on selectors and channels for networking programming. During my reading I came across this website, http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-09-2001/jw-0907-merlin.html
    It's kind of dated (3 years ago) but the example they provide on non-blocking I/O still compiles.
    Further in the article (http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-09-2001/jw-0907-merlin-p4.html) they mention a few "gotcha's" with using selectors. One in particular that caught my attention was "a selector can have only 63 channels registered, which is probably not a big deal."
    So only 63 channels max can be registered to a selector ? I searched around the web and the java API looking to confirm this. Does anyone know this to be true or if the max 63 registered channels was dropped before java 1.4 beta became the stable release of java 1.4? The article was written when java 1.4 was in beta.
    Lastly, do selectors weed out dropped socket connections? For example. Say I have 500 socket (TCP/IP) connections to a server of mine. Of those 500 , 100 are now closed by the client by the time the server comes around to send them data. As the server loops through the 500 connections using a selector, will there be a delay because 100 connections are dropped and the server must wait for a timeout before proceeding to send the data to the next connection or does the selector detect these 100 dropped connections and only use the 400 still connected?
    I hope this last question makes sense.
    Thanks in advance,
    Nick

  • A few General Questions about Layouts

    Hey.
    I'm pretty new to Swing so I don't know much. My first question is do you have to use a Layout Manager to organize components on a JPanel? Is there no pixel way to do it? Secondly, for layouts, specifically for GridBagLayouts, is there any way to display the grid for developing purposes?
    Thanks in advance.

    I'm sorry but the above code did not work. Even though I added the components, they still did not show. Anything I missed? Thanks.
    My code is below:
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class SwingTest {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            // Create application frame.
            JFrame frame = new JFrame();
            frame.setSize(500,500);
            JPanel foo = new JPanel(null);
         This 1 arugment constructor takes the layout manager as the argument.
         You can alternatively do this:
         JPanel foo = new JPanel();
         foo.setLayout(null);
         JLabel label1 = new JLabel("Label 1");
         label1.setLocation(10, 10);
         JLabel label2 = new JLabel("Label 2");
         label2.setLocation(10, 50);
         foo.add(label1);
         foo.add(label2);
         frame.add(foo);
            // Show frame.
            frame.setVisible(true);
    }

  • A few general questions about sequences, framerates (fps), audio sources

    If I create a sequence in Pro that is 23.976fps, matching my audo from Canon T2i shot with 24fps... and an audio with 48hz... and then if I import an audio (music) with 44hz..
    does it affect my output settings?
    Another question. If i have 23.976fps sequence, and I output it for Vimeo (which they say should be 30fps) does it have ANY effect on video/audio synchronzation?

    PrPro can handle most common Audio Sample Rates, like 44.1KHz @ 16-bit, and will Conform those Assets to edit in a 48KHz 16-bit Project. Other than an extra moment of the Conforming process, should not be an issue. This ARTICLE will give you some background on Conforming and Indexing.
    Good luck,

  • A few general questions from a greenhorn

    Hello there,
    I have a project coming up that will require the ability to
    record live audio conversations. It sounds like I need FMS to
    accomplish this, but which version? I'm hoping we can get by with
    the $1500 version as this is the only functionality of FMS that I
    will be utlilzing.
    Nowthen, on to my extreme-newb questions:
    If we are currently running the site with a php/mysql
    backend, will FMS have the ability to just "ride on top" of what we
    already have going so that we can use the audio recorcing
    functionality without having to re-design our entire back-end? Will
    it have access to our pre-existing session variables?
    What are the pros and cons of licensing FMS vs purchasing
    hosting with FMS enabled?
    If a miracle occurs and I get my app working on a dev edition
    of FMS, would I be looking at any headaches for porting it over to
    an FMS host? (as far as configuration and other factors)
    Thank you very much for any help, it is much
    appreciated.

    "If we are currently running the site with a php/mysql

    already have going so that we can use the audio recorcing
    functionality without having to re-design our entire back-end?
    - Yes this is a drop in solution for you. Your flash audio
    recorder (embeded in your php application) will just communicate
    with the flash server. No retooling of your php is needed.
    "Will it have access to our pre-existing session variables?"
    - Since the recorder would be embeded in your php application
    I dont think you would need to pass session variables into it but
    it is possible.
    "What are the pros and cons of licensing FMS vs purchasing
    hosting with FMS enabled?"
    - Hosted solutions have a recurring cost compared to
    licensing and running it yourself.

    - There should be no headaches since your app is simple. The
    main factor I would see is just storage limits on a hosted server.
    Hope this helps.

  • Few general questions and j2sdk 5 questions

    Hello guys
    I hope the new java development kit have some way to deal with scanner's TWAIN. Does it?
    What is the new Each-for loop used for?
    I googled the internet and not find any site that provides me with final reports to Seniors presented by Computer Science Students, is there any?
    With Regards
    M. Tleis

    I hope the new java development kit have some way to
    deal with scanner's TWAIN. Does it?No. TWAIN is a Windows only standard, hence standard Java can't support it. There are third party libraries (such as Morena - http://www.gnome.sk/Twain/jtp.html) you can use to interface with TWAIN though.
    What is the new Each-for loop used for?Foreach loops are a syntactic sugar that simplify looping over collections. In Java before version 5, you might have written code like this:
    List things = new ArrayList();
    things.add("abc");
    things.add("def");
    things.add("123");
    for (Iterator i = things.iterator(); it.hasNext();)
      String thing = (String)it.next();
      System.out.println(thing.charAt(0));
    }Java 5.0 lets you do the following:
    List<String> things = new ArrayList<String>();
    things.add("abc");
    things.add("def");
    things.add("123");
    for (String thing: things)
      System.out.println(thing.charAt(0));
    }

  • Few general questions

    I was just wondering I downlaoded the mac version of msn and ClamxAv and both are on my desktop is there anyway to remove them from the desktop? also if anyone knows if it is possible to get photos off my ipod and put them onto my macbook thanx

    I used to wonder about that myself, but when i use my ipod in disk mode its not possible to get the photos synced onto it through itunes. the only way to get anything in and out of the ipod is both through disk mode, and having the files saved to the ipod straight onto the drive as you would an external hard drive, not loaded through the itunes interface.
