A few iTunes 6 & 5 visual bugs
I also noticed these glitches in iTunes 5, 5.01, and 6, they were not in 4.9 or previous that I can recall.
In the "Get Info" for any file, absolutely no album art shows up in the art section (see link 1) or in the summary tab (see link 2)
Then in the options Tab the ratings stars do not appear, I can change it but I won't know what rating I gave it until I hit OK and it changes the rating in the library. (see link 3)
Yes the windows may look like OSX but I have a visual skin over windows XP in the screen shots.

I've had this skin on for quite some time, longer than I've had iTunes on my computer.
There is a theme dll you swap out that allows unsigned windows themes and then you just install whatever skin you want and it will run as if it were just the XP skin instead of requring more ram hogging applications to run in the background.

Okay, the iTunes 8.2 bug that I had on my iPod Touch is back with my iPhone
I have new iPhone 3GS that I picked up this morning at 7 am. I love it, but the iTunes 8.2 bug that is being thoroughly discussed in the iPod Touch forum is back and affecting my iPhone 3GS. I did read one random post that a Apple Tech Support person said to unplug the internet (disconnect your internet) before plugging it in. I don't know why, but it worked and makes me wonder if this will also work for iPod Touch users. Weird, but it is definitely a nice work around for now!
I got it again. I plug in the iPhone into my computer and it is telling that it thinks it is a camera because it is trying to launch Canon CameraWindow, MS scanner, Picasa3, etc. Then iTunes says, "An iPhone has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please, disconnect and reconnect the iPhone, then try again." Yes, I tried again, and completely uninstalled iTunes and all things Apple to only re-install it. I am at my whits end again!

The apps can only be run on an iOS device. They will not run on your PC.

I'm running Leopard 10.5.3 on a 1Ghz iMac G4 which came with a GeForce4 MX graphics card. I've been using stacks from the beginning (and loving it) but every time I use it, a weird visual bug is triggered; basically white semi-transparent rectangles appear along the edges. You can find a screenshot of this at http://picasaweb.google.com/luis.beca/StacksBug/photo#5206710255993309346. Any clues as to why this is happening or how to solve it?
I should point out that I have been stuck with this problem from the very beginning, not just the latest Leopard version 10.5.3. I have an Intel MacBook Pro where this is not an issue.

MSI Radeon R9 280X - Visual bug squares
Hi,
Since I got my GPU in February of 2014 I've had multiple visual bugs. Flashing lines in flash video players (e.g. youtube)
and flashing squares in the screen. The flashing squares look something like this:
It can happen anywhere on the screen. It also happens with black squares instead of white.
Some people on the internet say that it can be due to the driver version or the GPU clock frequency. I've tried installing all the drivers I could find on amd.com and the one on msi.com. Both had this problem. I've also played with the GPU clock frequency, but that didn't matter at all.
I feel now as if I should have sent the card back when I got it as I had this problem within the first week. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this problem?
System specs:
GPU: MSI Radeon R9 280X GAMING 3G
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K

Current resolution: 2560x1440, 60Hz

Looking at the specs it seems that I'm running a resolution which is too high for a DVI connection. MSI card specs shows a maximum of 2048x1536 resolution for the DVI connection. Which seems wierd to me as I'm now running 2560x1440 resolution.
Could the resolution be the problem? And if so can this be fixed in anyway while still connecting to a DVI monitor? (e.g. GPU -->Mini DisplayPort --> convert --> DVI --> monitor)My PSU: Seasonic G-Serie 550 Watt
The specs say the card only has HDMI 1. Should I try to use the Mini DisplayPort?

There's been a lot of discussion about iTunes 7. Apple definitely need to fix a few bugs. Until then I've compiled a few fixes or should I say things you can try to get around the bugs of itunes 7.
1. Be aware of the fact that only older ipods can revert to 6x. If you have a new ipod (video/nano) your going to have stick with itunes 7 and hope for a fix if you have any problems. Movies can be played on Fifth Generation iPod (iPod with video). You need itunes 7 for movies.
2. From Bradley Price1: How to regress from iTunes 7 to iTunes 6.0.5
a) Make sure you have a copy of the iTunes 6.0.5 installer. If you no longer have one, download it here:

b) Shut down iTunes 7 if it is running
c) Uninstall iTunes 7 via the Add/Remove Programs control panel.

Make sure you restart your iTunes when making the changes in the QuickTime control panel. For XP users. Do the following; start>control panels>other control panels. Select the audio tab in quicktime preferences. Rate:41kHz Size:16 bit
More from gswilder: He kept playing around with the QuickTime settings under windows control panel. I had to increase the sound out rate to get it to work. 44.1 KHZ would not work. I went to 64KHZ and it worked. Then on to 192khz and it worked. I have a Creative Pro EMU1212M sound card. So it may be a sound card specific bug. Depending on soundcard and driver versions, you may have to play around with all the QuickTime settings to find one that works.
You may need to update DirectX. This did not work for me.
error code 2738 by whereswaldo: It turns out that 2738 means that Windows Installer can't read a VisualBasicScript. Simply install this capability on your pc, and voila- iTunes. This site says that this package isn't for xp, but it allowed my installation to work-

Solution to registering modules hang for windows users

I had the same problems as some others installing ITunes 7 -it would hang at registering modules and never complete.
The last time I tried it, I brought up the task manager (ctrl + alt + del) and listed everything in order by name. There were about 6 instances of msiexec.exe running. Clicking and ''end task'' one at a time, the third one clicked (in use by system) allowed the process to finish and iTunes is now up and running again.
Hope this helps someone else.

Since the last iTunes update (10.4), the bug REappears concerning artworks & covers in the finder, it's so annoying.
You corrected the bug in the last version of iTunes, all was perfect !!
But now with the new version (10.4) the bug reappears... You can't see the cover with the "preview SPACE fonction"
So please correct this bug once and for all.

I'm got also the same problem with covers in Finder, So i'm opening some Mp3 files it will automatic opens iTunes and add them to my iTunes Library, if i wanna edit some ID3 tags that works full but the coverillustration doesnt appears in iTunes or it takes a few seconds when it appears (i'm use BMP pictures), But since i have updated my iTunes to 10.4 it even never appears on the thumbnails in Finder and the strange things is, I have it only with iTunes 10.4 edited Mp3 files.
Not with with Mp3 files i'm edited at iTunes 10.3 10.2 10.1 10.0 or earlier they just have album-art thumbnails on iTunes and Finder.

I own an ipad2 and have loads of music and vids/photos etc on it from an old pc.
I just bought a new pc and wanted to transfer everything to the new pc
I've transferred purchases but this only transfers things bought in the itunes store like apps and a few songs
The rest of the content is still on my ipad.
When I press sync, it warns that it will delete all the content on my ipad and replace with the few things I've managed to import.
How do I transfer all the content to the new pc?Similar issues here.
I purchased five movies for download and having nothing but problems getting them downloaded. I keep receiving error messages and the download stops and I have to restart it, just to get another minute worth of download with each restart. Now Apple has my money and I have nothing. -
ITunes 11.4 bug when used with OS 10.6.8 - won't sync or backup iPhone
I actually just wanted to post this in case Apple monitors these boards. iTunes 11.4 says it's compatible with OS 10.6.8 or later, but there is a bug in it when you're running OS 10.6.8 that prevents you from backing up or synching your iPhone (in my case, a 5s). Doesn't matter what iOS you're running. If you attempt to backup in iTunes 11.4, it immediately ends the backup and only displays "Other" content being stored on your phone. Also, the "Sync" button is greyed out, so you can't even attempt to sync.
No amount of restoring (even a DFU restore) or reinstalling iTunes 11.4 will fix this. The solution is to delete iTunes 11.4 and its related files and to reinstall iTunes 11.3.1, at least until Apple gets the bug corrected. After hours of restores trying to resolve it, I followed this process and it completely solved my problem in about ten minutes. I found the solution with instructions in this thread:
Upgraded to iTunes 11.4 and now it won't sync my iPhone 5s-sync button is greyed out.
Thanks to cwa2, enee and Zak for supplying the solution. I've also summarized the steps here.
(1) Use this link to download a copy of iTunes 11.3.1:

(3) Some people have had trouble seeing the contents of the CoreTypes.bundle to get to the MobileDevices.bundle. You can access it this way:

Type in: /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Library/
The MobileDevices.bundle will be displayed; drag it to the Trash.
(4) Empty your Trash.
(5) Install iTunes 11.3.1, and go back to living your life. Remember, do not upgrade to iTunes 11.4 again until you're certain the bug has been resolved.In Reply to all fellow Apple fans: It is great that someone found a work-around to the iTunes 11.4 no syncing problem. I think that is fine for the short term. And I am really glad that we customers have a forum to share information and experiences regarding Apple's products. However, as someone here said, we are all customers; and posting a problem here "IN HOPES THAT APPLE READS THESE POSTS" is NOT a way to resolve this issue or any issue.
PLEASE CONTACT APPLE: Apple Service Center: 1-800-275-2273 - Once you get a ticket number then and only then is this documented and then Apple can follow-through and alert the engineers who will fix this.
The "CWA2" work-around band-aid does several things in addition to reverting back to iTunes 11.3.1. :
1) It ensures that Apple continues to know nothing of the problem.
2) It ensures that the faulty code that is within 11.4 remains there and is perpetuated into future versions.
3) It ensures that YOU can never upgrade to future versions. (If the resident faulty code remains and perpetuates)
So once you have reverted back to 11.3.1, the problem APPEARS to have gone away (FOR YOU) but you have not solved the problem.
Again, respectfully,
1) Sending feedback to apple (using the "Report Bugs To Apple" menu item in Safari will get the information to someone, somewhere and add it to the pile of issues, complaints, suggestions, etc.
2) CALLING the Apple service/support Center at 1-800-275-2273 will put you in touch with a real APPLE person who will begin the process of documenting and forwarding this issue on to those who will fix it.
and
3) emailing Apple directly will make sure that they get the information.

Burning Error 4000 - itunes 7.7 Bug???
I have never had any trouble burning with itunes until I updated my itunes from 7.6 to 7.7 . When I tried burning a CD with itunes 7.7 for the first time, I could not burn the CD and recieved the error 4000 message. Like I said, I have never had any problems before I updated my itunes. My drive is updated and I've been through the repair/uninstall-reinstall process and none helped with the situation. I see other people are having this problem but I'm thinking this problem is might concern the 7.7 update. Could this be a universal bug???????

I actually found it when I ran CD diagnostics....at the very bottom of the diagnostics page was a little comment saying something like "if you are having trouble burning try turning off write cd text option" and i was just like well why has no one else seen this!!

I was having the same problem as you and had tech support help me get the "old kingdom" back. I thought going from 7.6 to 8.0 would have helped but alas it was the exact same problem. Went through about 20 discs too. I have tech support working on this and have sent me a regedit that did not work. But this simple easy thing works! By the way I also saw another discussion that people were havinng the same problem at version 4.5...I wonder? -
ITunes desperately needs bug reporting tools
Since this is the closest I'm going to get, I'd like to say that for some reason, if iTunes is minimized, whenever I use my media keys for volume (V up/down or mute), it gets counted twice. Works fine if iTunes is closed or focused, but otherwise, it doesn't. I also only noticed this behavior in iTunes 7.1.1. Why do all of their .1 releases break the control interface? 7.0.1 didn't let external programs control iTunes. Stupid people.

Hello all,
I cannot thank the help and expertise from some of the members in the FCP X support community. Luis Sequeira and Tom Wolsky you guys are part of the reason why I am persevering with FCP X and am finding it to be the future of editing despite the many flaws it has. I was glad to find out I wasn't just one of a few who found some of the bugs and inconsistencies to be slightly more than an annoyance. Here are a few more that i've noticed and am wondering if anyone has found out why these issues exist and would care to add upon:
This one is for Macbook FCP X users. I don't have this problem on my tower or my 27" iMac so I am led to believe this is a deliberate (althrough strange and unwise) GUI design change from Apple. When I open up my color board on my 13" Macpro, I see my color board, exposure and saturation control just like I do on my desktops. I do not however, see the percentage change view/controls underneath. I cannot scroll down further, all I have to play with is the respective color, saturation and exposure "board" leaving me to use my eyes as my only trusted gauge for correction/change. Here's another issue I have not been able to find a workaround for despite trying usual and predictable avenues in my attempts. It's not a huge deal, but being a keyboard shortcut junky, I find it annoying that I cannot press Command + E to export with my default settings on my macbook. The shortcut is not visible in the menu or when I hover my curser over the icon. Naturally, I went into my command editor to see whether i'd have to edit or completely create this shortcut on my own. The shortcut is definately still the same in the comman editor, but still no avail. I've input the keys to manually create this shortcut, still the same.
Here is what I see:
No matter what I do, when I press Command + E (I make sure i'm in the timeline) the shortcut doesn't work and I hear the sound that occurs when an incorrect or unvailable command/action occurs. Not a huge deal but still need to know if this is a legit bug or if it was intentional for laptop owners for some strange unidentifiable reason. I'm wondering if any other Macbook users are encountering the same problem.
I am about to mention these issues as well as a few others in hopes they can address them in future updates but wanted other peoples take on them. These aren't bugs as much as things I think would make more sense if corrected or improved upon:
Pressing CMD + 6 to open AND CLOSE the color board to make color adjustments. Once i am done making my necessary color/exposure adjustments, why can't i close this window with the same shortcut i used to open it? I can open the color board with CMD+ 6 but cannot close it with the same keyboard shortcut command. Same with CMD + 8 for audio enhancements, I can open the audio enhancements window with this shortcut but cannot close it with this shortcut. I have to close the entire inspector with the keyboard shortcut cmd 4 to close the window. Seems very counter intuitive and for short term projects isn't that big of an issue (like I mentioned i'm a keyboard shortcut fanatic), but becomes very annoying for paid, commercial work (which i've become accustomed to using CS6 for). When i work on my laptop I keep the inspector open when I need to maximize viewer space and would like to be able to have the color board close as conveniently as it opens without having to press cmd 4 to close inspector. Not that big of a deal but would like to see this fixed, wanted other people's thoughts?

AnthonyPull down the separator bar at the bottom of the color board to create more space for the percentages.
The color board and audio enhancements are parts of the inspector. You close the inspector with Cmd-4.
Cmd-E is the default export setting. It's assignable to any preset or custom export setting. Open Destination preferences, right-click on the setting you want and select make default. -
ITunes 12 UI bug: Missing repeat button
I already submitted a bug report to Apple about this but I wanted to confirm with others that in iTunes 12, the repeat control button is missing from next to the shuffle control button at the top.
See this screenshot:I'm afraid it's not a bug but a bad choice of changing the interface. If you right-click on the shuffle icon, you open a menu you can activate repeat.
The blue repeat sign just gives you info you are in repeat-mode.
So they have made "repeat" a sort of hidden feature you might, or might not, stumble upon (who thinks of right clicking a shuffle-button FCOL) -

I found a bug in the latest iTunes 8.0.2.
I would like to describe my steps:
I've just imported an Audio CD. At this this time i deleted some songs out of my Library and selected to delete it from the Harddisk as well.
After this click it shows up a window that said me "Delete this song" or something. In this window was a Progress Bar which has the same status as the progress from the importing Audio File. It confused me a little. But iTunes has done the Job correctly.You're welcome. However, that isn't a bug; it's designed that way. When you click Back Up Now in iTunes it will still backup your device to your computer. This allows you to back up to both iCloud and to your computer at the same time. The only difference when you are backing up to iCloud is that you devce will no longer automatically back up to your computer when you sync with iTunes. It automatically backs up to iCloud instead (by connecting your device to wifi and your charger, and locking your screen). You can still, however, manually back up to your computer at any time by clicking Back Up Now on the Summary tab.

ADRMAS03 update subset of fields
I'm using ADRMAS03 IDoc to update the customer address. The Idoc is sent from XI. However, there is a requirement that only a subset of fields are allowed to modify. I found that the ADRMAS will update the fields with empty if I do not specify value.
