A few suggestions for the next version of Acrobat.

Every time I use a portfolio in Acrobat, I have to click through a large number of folders
Although many of them have no content.
It would be good if there would be a number of the documents on the folder .So I would not have to open the folder, if there would be no document at all.

1) Drag&Drop. A simple drag&drop in Pages: select a text, drag&drop it somewhere else.
I've been doing this for years in AppleWorks & Pages (1, 2 & 3) & Mail, etc. The trick is to hold the cursor on the selected text for a second or so until the cursor changes to an arrow, then move the text.
2) Option-left or right arrow, bring us to the next word. How about Command-left or right key, to take us to the end or beginning of the line (like in Word).
Again, this has been in AppleWorks & Pages & Mail, etc. for years. Also, Command + up arrow goes to the top of the document, Command + down arrow goes to the end. Option + up or down arrow goes to the beginning of the previous or next paragraph.
I don't know why these wouldn't work for you.
#3, I'm not sure. Why don't you ask in the Numbers forum?

  • Suggestion for the next version of Safari

Hi folks, hope some programmer read this topic
I think that Safari should have some function that allows the user to manage a webpage like if it was an editable text.
From long time ago, Internet is *The Source of Knowledge*, it's a huge library where we can study but we cannot highlight the text on the webpages and save it like we can do with a text file. So, if we take a webpage as a page of some study book, we should be able to highlight text and why not, converting normal fonts to bold, italic, underlined or changing text size and color in the selected text in order to pop up certain parts of the text. Just like when we're writing into a text file or like when we're writing in forums using HTML codes to modify how the text will look. And also, why not adding the ability to add some notes in order to write some commentaries we may have about the lecture?
I find pretty useful saving to my favs certain webpages that I usually consult when I need it, and I also do it in categories, thanks to the amazing folder structure that Safari has, but I also need to highlight some part of the text found in the webpages in order to make it easy to find that part of text that I need in a particular moment. Due that any Internet Browser allows these kind of things, I'm forced to copy the content of the website to a text document and there, doing the modifications but by doing it that way, it creates too much text files that I have to browse through folders and sub-folders while inside Safari, browsing webpages is much easier, faster and comfortable.
I think this maybe possible by adding some kind of layout over the webpage (like a virtual copy of the webpage), because the webpage isn't editable itself, that allows the pertinent editions.
Something like CopyWrite but without leaving Safari and specially for webpages.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ø3

Agree, would be nice to have this built-in to the product. In the meantime, in case you're not already aware - there's a very nice LR plugin (donation-ware) that does this and more:

    Not true at all.
I listen to music on my iphone all the time.
It is your position that anyone who does not agree with you does not listen to music?
    Really?
    What a leap.

  • Any news for the next version of Data Protection Manager - DPM?

May be DPM 2015 is incoming? New features or something?
    Thanks.

Since DPM is now bundled in as part of the larger System Center then I imagine the bigger question is when the next version of System Center will be released.
    As discussed here
http://blogs.technet.com/b/server-cloud/archive/2014/10/01/announcing-availability-of-windows-server-technical-preview-and-system-center-technical-preview.aspx alongside the release of Windows 10 technical preview, there have also been releases for the
server version of Windows 10 and its corresponding System Center into technical preview, so there is a new version in the pipeline.
As far as I can find online it's far too early to know when they'll be getting released, but it's suspected that it will be sometime in the second half of next year, so potentially (if all goes well) sometime between 9 to 15 months from now.

  • A suggestion for the next upgrade.

When I want to separate my iPod I of course select the "eject" on the screen. However there are times when I just want to eject and keep the iPod connected (recharging, seeing what's on the iPod since the new upgrade took that away, listen to my tunes that won't skip). If I want to reconnect though I have to physically remove the cable and reattach. For the next upgrade couldn’t you have an icon at the top that shows the status of the iPod, say a pair of plugs connected and in blue, then when disconnected they’re separate and in yellow, so that if I wanted to reconnect I can just press the icon and it reconnects through software? Thanks.
    meagain.

  • Is there a way to up forward a suggestion for the next software update?

I had my iphone stolen the other night and I was just wondering if we can put forward a suggestion towards the next software update.
I've been thinking that you should only be able to turn the phone off if the phone is unlocked (if there is a passcode lock then you should have to enter this before being able to turn the phone off)
If a phone is stolen the first thing people do is turn the phone off, but if this isn't so easy to do then people may still be able to find their phone using the find my iphone app which can only be used when phone is on
    Hop someone can help, thanks

  • A Few Suggestions for The i3-wm

I've been a user of i3 wm some time. Now that am new at using (only) a wm for my everyday work, I can say that am quite satisfied the way it significantly speeds up switching between different windows and workspaces. i3 has been so far quite nice with its well writ documentations (albeit a few glitches here and there).
From my experience using it, there are some recommendations to be considered for change/add in future releases of i3. I'll list them below one by one.
    1. As the documentation at i3's home site describes, i3 mentains the list of windows as a tree, hence the windows obviously have a parent-child relation. And the implementation happends to be that when a parent window is terminated, the child window is also terminated. This is at most cases undesireable. For e.g. suppose you open a pdf document from your terminal and put the process to background like $ evince file.pdf & and then you close the terminal window. You'd of course like the window in which evince is running to remain open, wont you? But as per i3's default behaviour the evince window'd also be closed. Of course you can use a menu program (like dmenu) to launch such a program, but AFAI think most wm only people 'd prefer using the terminal to launch stuff. These sort of wm s are probably called non-reparenting wms. I'd like to see i3 as a reparenting one. After all, that seems logical to a wm only environment..isnt it?
    2. When i3 is restarted for some reason, the processes that are start up with i3 (i'm reffering to only those added in the i3 config file, not .xinitrc) are not restarted, but rather another instance of that process is run. For e.g. suppose conky is piped to dzen or something else to be displayed in i3bar. The first time you start up i3 after boot up, they are naturally started as child processes to i3. When you restart i3, those two processes aren't killed, instead new instances of conky and dzen 'd be run ; even the bash shell created to run the command isnt terminated(obviously) . You can use pstree -p to display current process trees and restart i3 to check this. This seems to be the case even if you exit i3. Does it feel natural?
    3. This one's more of a feature request(if its already not available, aint sure). Is it possible to define a different backgrounds for a perticular app? Like, I'd like to have all my focused terminal windows with a yellowish background for the border. and a blueish bg for all other apps (by bg I mean the colour of the..what should I call it.. title bars(?)'s background colour)
I tried putting this in my i3 config:
    for_window [class="(G|g)nome-terminal"] client.focused #ECC806 #00B0B9 #ffffff
and then defining common colour codes separetely for all other windows. But seemed not to work. Is it actually possible?
It 'd be nice to have that in i3.
One more question. Can I encapsulate the rules for a specific 'for_window' section with braces?
Well that was it. Corrent me if am wrong anywhere. And tell me what you think on no. 1 and 2.
Of course it all upto the devs, untill am apt enough with C to adapt the source code to my liking.  Lets see.

Yup. More precisely, I have this piece of code in my config:
    bar {
    status_command /home/archman/.i3/myi3status.sh
    font -*-terminus-medium-r-normal-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
After restarting i3 inplace, old myi3status.sh is left alive, while another one is being started, which makes piping information to fail.
    myi3config:
    #!/bin/bash
    i3status -c /home/archman/.i3/i3status.conf | while :
    do
    read line
    echo "Gm `cat /home/archman/.i3/gmailstatus` | $line `setxkbmap -query | awk '/layout/ { print $2 }'`"
    done
Now when I think of it, I could include 'pkill myi3status.sh' in it to make the job, haha!

  • Suggestion for the next update

WebOS 1.4.0 had some great improvements...but there is one other improvement I would love to see. If you receive a text message or email with an address, it would be nice to be able to tap and hold the address and have the ability to use that address with Sprint Navigator. This way Sprint Navigator would open automatically and the desired address is already populated. I really hope Palm can add this type of feature.

Good idea. Suggest using the official palm Feature Request page here. www.palm.com/feedback

  • When is the next version of Acrobat due out?

    Thanks in advance guys :-)

Hi all, today is Acrobat 9's second birthday, it came out exactly two years ago today...
And coincidentally, we finally have some further clues on when Acrobat 10 is being released and what will be in it.
    Hope this helps!

  • [Suggestion]Ideas for the next MacMini

Several suggestions for the next MacMini:
    1. AMD Fusion "Llano" 32nm. I think you could use this APU that AMD gonna launch very soon. Why? Because it's supposed to be very power efficient, it includes the GPU inside the silicon die, it supports DX11/OGL4/OpenCL 1.1 and it can reduce the production costs a lot.
    2. Add a Bluray option. I personally would like to see a Mini with a Bluray instead of using a DVD. Why? Because I own a lot of Bluray movies like Avatar, Matrix, Inception, etc... and I want to use the Mini as HTPC. On the other hand, my backups are becoming bigger and bigger so I would need to burn 5 DVDs which is very tedious... Please, add an option to buy the Mini with an internal Bluray optical drive!
    3. Please, put the connectors on the front. Currently they're on the back side which is not really practical... If you don't want to ruin the aesthetics just place a cover which could open when you touch it, showing the connectors.
    4. USB 3.0, please... ( and keep the Firewire connector too because it's still useful! ).
    5. Please, add an option to get a SSD instead of the traditional HDD. I personally would keep the HDD option because the SSD can make the product much more expensive.
    6. Price. I think the Mini should be always in range 399-599$, specially because we're in the middle of an economical crisis and you should moderate its price.
    Thanks.

Yes! I like the clean front -- one of the main selling features.

  • Dual Sim for the NEXT Iphone Please

    Hello, Everyone
This is a suggestion for the next iPhone. Please make DUAL Sim built into the phone. I know in America its not all that but in Europe multiple SIMs is very common and popular. You can distinguish work and personal with one phone.

  • In the next version of ITunes

Just a thought for the next version of ITunes. It would be nice to be able to use my "scroll wheel" on my mouse in the Ipod Preferences Playlist Selection. It seems to be the only place on the Mac that the wheel doesn't work at the moment.
    thanks,
