A Form --- .PDF

I've looked through a lot of the info here, on this group, and it really seems to be over my head! Please excuse me but, I have, what I think, is a 'simple' question.
Can someone tell me how to take a printed form, and turn it into a .pdf document that the user can type information into, then print it out?
If this is the wrong forum, please point me to the right one, and excuse me please!

Purchase a copy of Adobe Acrobat and a scanner - and you'll be all set!

We are facing issue to open a static form PDF in Chrome Browser

Able to open in other browsers but not able to open the static
forms in chrome with LC 11.0 version
    Below error message:
The document you are trying to load
requires Adobe Reader 8 or higher. You may not have the Adobe Reader installed
or your viewing environment may not be properly configured to use Adobe Reader.
For information on how to install Adobe Reader and configure your viewing

Please let us know do we have any option for disabling
<NoXFA/> tag by calling formService. RenderPDF() method on adobe service
For dynamic forms its working by adding <NOXFA/> in
DDX xml . only for static forms its not working because we are not using
    assembler service for this forms.
Please let us know how we can disable XFA in static forms??????????????????

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

This is the dialog that I keep getting:
    Any tips greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.
Yes, it is created by Adobe LCD ES 8.2.
I don't see the type of document. Probably staring at me. Sorry.

  • Form PDF Save/Export so no longer a form?

I am working to create a layout, exported to a PDF, form fields added that will be sent to a company's department as like a master document. They would then take that, fill in the info and either save it out or export it so they can email it to another department. I would like for what that receiver gets to look like a NON-form pdf so that one they can't change what had been customized nor see where the forms even were.
How would I go about doing this?

Gilad (and all the rest of you Acrobat JavaScripters) –
Two days ago built a new pdf using the above steps as I had before to flatten the pages but I noticed something that was wrong (and may or may not, have been there back in August with the first batch I did. I need to editable text fields to flatten, but I need any interactive nav elements like buttons that jump to another page, or buttons that launch a website. These are all transparent objects on top of my pdf layout.
So I started messing around with the nNonPrint and got Adobe on the phone who are looking in to it. Here is where I am at on my own:
    this.flattenPages({nStart: 0, nEnd: 5, nNonPrint: 1});
This works with flattening the text fields and keeps the nav points as long as the properties > General > Common Properties are changed from “visible” to “visible but doesn’t print”
BUT its not obeying the start and stop functions. Its flattening the entire document.
    SO where:
    this.flattenPages(0,5);
worked perfectly to flatten just the pages I want it to, is there a way to keep that code and add the nNonPrint in there?
    THANKS!

  • 1099 Forms : PDF Template

    Hi,
We want to use the oracle seeded report and create a custom template. In the template form I cannot delete the seeded template. Has anyone run into this issue? I do not want to have the seeded template as the default but I cannot modify it or create a new data definition with the same name. Any help would be great because I do not want to customize the concurrent program to have a different short name.
    Thank you,
    CC

    Hi,
You will need to end date the seeded template (1099 Forms). You will then create a new template. Use anything you want for the template name (Custom 1099 Forms) and template code (CUSTAPXT7F99P). The data definition must be the same data definition name used with the seeded template (1099 Forms PDF Format). Add your custom .pdf file to associate it with your new template. This custom template will now be the default template that is used when the user runs the seeded 1099 Forms PDF Format concurrent request.

I have to make inaccessible the Javascript code embedded in a form pdf. How can I do?

You can secure the file and prevent access to the code, but it's very easy
to overcome that. Alternatively you can use a code obfuscator to make the
    code less legible.

  • Heavy performance issues using Adobe Interactive Form PDFs generated by SAP BPM

    Dear experts,
we use Adobe Interactive Form PDFs (generated with LiveCycle Designer) as Human Tasks within SAP BPM processes. The PDFs are generated and transmitted correctly, but when they are opened at the receivers PC, Windows freezes for 2-3 minutes, then the PDF opens and can be filled out and sent back. The next PDFs can be opened much faster, but when the PC is restarted, we get the same problem again. We use Adobe Reader XI (11.0.2) on our clients; is their any know performance issue?
Please note, that we have this problem with EVERY Adobe Interactive Form PDF... I created a simple PDF containing just a field and the client PC still freezes. So it can't be in the form or the scripting. Normal static PDFs can be opend without any problems.
    Best regards,
    David

They haven't really announced it, because there is no product to announce. Rather the opposite.
There are no conversion tools, so far as I know.
XFA forms are a non-starter if you want portability.
AcroForms are a nightmare in themselves, because the functionality is limited in Adobe Reader and varies between absent and weird in other products. No idea about Blackberry support.
You will not find a simple recommendation. Rather, you need to use Acroforms and carefully test everything (EVERYTHING: no assumptions) on every platform you intend to support.
Yes, rather unsatisfactory, but until Adobe realise that the future is platform equivalence or irrelevance, this is where we are.

  • Unable to edit a fill form PDF on my andriod

Why can I edit a PDF fill in form on my laptop but cannot edit the sync file on my mobile device? Certain blank fill in form PDF's will allow edits on both devices, but any PDF fill in form that I have partially completed will not allow me to then edit them on my mobile device. I have not purposely restricted editing, so I don't understand why some forms allow editing and some wont.

    Hi Ckenlan,
Please check in the document properties whether you have set some restrictions for editing.

  • Can you download the Form pdf?

Hi.... just taking a look at FormsCentral and wondering if you can use this to create a form pdf and download for offline use. If you can, is the format XFA or standard PDF?
    Thanx in advance.

Just realized that these are not online PDF forms... these are HTML forms. Does anyone know of a tool that can create XFA docs or is it just LiveCycle? Thx

  • Issues regarding form pdf?

    Hello There,
I recently downloaded Adobe Pro to test and create a form pdf. I performed the following:
    1. Included a few fields, including mandatory ones which showed * sign while designing. When I saved as pdf, on my local drive. When I opened the pdf file the mandatory * sign just didn't showed up.
How can I force the user to enter all the mandatory fields before he saves the file?
The other problem I faced is when I try to distribute and would like to save the pdf in my local drive, it wouldn't allow me to do so, but asks to save in share point or network drive
    Could you please advise?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Thanks & regards
    Don

The required size and resolution depend entirely on the size the image will be printed, and the printing method. You can check the "Effective Resolution" for the image in either the Links Panel or the Info Panel. That's the one that counts.
For typical offset litho printing, you want something in the range of 300 ppi effective resolution (but as low as 244 will probably be ok with screen frequency of 150 lpi or less). For digital printing my rule of thumb is 180 -200 ppi effective resolution.
These numbers presume the work will be viewed at arm's length or less. For large prints made to be viewed from a longer distance you need less resolution. Are you printing these images at 100% scale?

  • Why does my Adobe Dynamic XML Form (*.pdf)  submit as data.xml

Hi, I have created a form and saved it as Adobe Dynamic XML Form (*.pdf)  the form used to submit perfectly via email but today it keeps attaching  to the email as in a data.xml format.  What would cause this and how do I fix it.
    P.S. I am a novice with Livecycle

Check the properties on your submit button.  That is where you define the submission format.
