A huge disappointment of ics upadte for LWW is the camera picture quality!!

HELLO SONY TEAM,
After having updated my lww with ICS 10 days ago, the most disappointment that i could find is the quality of the pics taken by the rear camera. Its a big loss for me updating my GB to ICS. The probelm with GB was to be the pics taken using the rear camera had a small size, but it had a good overall clarity. Whereas in ICS the size of the pics taken using the rear camera has increased, but the loss comes with the picture quality which if u compare with a 2mp camera would give a better result then this.
I have proof for it do compare both the pics.(both the pics are untouched)
Above picture taken with GB runing in the phone.....(size- 1.01mb)
Above picture taken with ICS runing in the phone.....(size- 1.63mb)
So, i would like to know from the SONY TEAM, that would u guys help us sorting out the image quality issue ???
Thank You..

saptarshi.dey, please post the same scene like no 1 photo but on ICS so we can do a better evaluation .
i cant do comparison because the two photos are of totally different scene

  • Adjust for Brightness Corrections the Camera made

I have some video clips where I am trying to make two types of corrections.
I am using Warp Stabilize to correct for movement in the way I handled the camera during the filming process.  Warp Stabilize seems to do a fair job of fixing this, I can accept this for now.
Then I am trying to repair/ adjust where the camera made some auto brightness corrections when the focus was made/moved to a darker object in the scene.  It causes intermittent bright and dark lighting in the clip.
I realize both of these situations are my own fault, but I am still trying to learn how to adjust for them.
I tried using the Effect /Color Correction / Brightness and Contrast tool because this seems logical, but the results are not  smooth.  I set a key-frame on both sides of the problem point on the clip so I can stop/ lock in the effect from making changes to an area  that is good/ acceptable.  Then I move to the center point between the two key-frames I am holding as correct and make a brightness adjustment (creating a new key-frame).  This sounds like it should compensate, but I end up with even more intermittent flashes of bright and dark.
Can anyone tell me if this logic is correct and is this the correct tool I should be using to make this sort of adjustment to a clip   The adjustments are not  smooth as I would expect from key-frame.  And it appears the key-frames I set to hold what is correct are being auto adjusted.
I think there should be a metering tool  that I could use to measure/meter Brightness (ie; 1-100) throughout the clip so when I see the brightness is  varying away form my desire meter reading I could make an adjustment at that point where brightness varies to bring it back to the metered level I want to hold
Thanks for your help in advance

I've never used the Brightness/ Contrast adjustment. Curves and Levels work much better. Beyond that - if the aperture change is immediate, then split the clip on the respective point and correct each segment separately. otherwise it seems you do not quite understand how AE keyframes work. You don't "encircle" a problem, you just animate the respective parameters. In your example the only keyframe that actually holds anything useful is the one in the middle, the other two hold neutral default values. It's inevitable that you get additional brightness jumps because you are telling AE to revert to those defaults on the third keyframe, but the exposure is still wrong. Simply makes no sense. The rule of thumb is always to use as few keys as possible, especially on something as tricky as color corrections.

  • Just got an iPad, really disappointed in the quality of the camera pictures. Is there something you can do to improve the pic quality?

Just got iPad 2, really disappointed in pic quality of camera. Can anything be done to improve? How many megapixels is it?

The iPad cameras are designed primarily for use with FaceTime. Increasing the amount of ambient lighting will improve the quality of still but they will still never match those taken with a "real" camera.

  • How can I use my TV as a display for FaceTime and the camera of my MacBook when connecting it to the TV via HDMI?

I can connect my MacBook to my TV via HDMI and when I FaceTime everything works normally except I would like the display for the MacBook to be turned off so I can see video only on my TV. Closing the lid is not an option since I am using the MacBook's camera to FaceTime. Is there any way to achieve this?

    Not that I could find.
The easiest workaround that I could find is a trimmed piece of Black Construction Paper taped over the Mac's display.
Alternatively, you could use an external Mac Compatible Web Cameras and then close the lid, but that is a higher cost option.

  • What is the best app for giving for flash to the camera

I love to take pictures when im out but at nite it obviously majorly *** what is the best app for flash i just bought the tripod app i do like some features but doesnt seem to give me better pic with no light

There is no flash in the iPhone, and no app can create light when there is no light source. The iPhone camera is rather basic; you need to get a REAL camera for low light situations.

  • Need suggestion for small USB/FW camera for chat

I have an old (Tiger, PPC) laptop. My wife has an old (Panther, PPC) mini. I'm going on a trip and want to use Skype or iChat to be able to see the kids when we talk. Can someone suggest a camera USB/firewire camera which would be good for this purpose? I don't need too many fancy features but it would be nice if it weren't big and heavy (since I'll be traveling with mine). If it's on a flexible stick or mounts to the top of the monitor/laptop screen, that would be great. I see a bunch on Amazon but it's not clear which work with Panther/Tiger, which have Mac drivers, etc. Thank you!

    Hi,
    Yes and no (Again)
Any Camera is going to have to suit your Mac and it's input ports.
iUSBCam Utility only works for iChat.
It was originally designed to get the External iSight working on G3 computer less that 600Mghz.
Very quickly they added in the USB 1.1 camera option (At a push you could get a USB 1.1 camera to work n a G3/450Mghz processor as well)
It only works for iChat though. Or rather it is need for iChat as it manipulates the video from the camera into something iChat will accept.
I am not that sure if the current version of Skype will work with an older Camera.
If it does it will still need a Mac Driver for it if you only have USB 1.1 port on your computer.
There are two main Third Party Drivers out there for this (If the camera Manufacturer does not supply a Mac Driver)
    Macam
    and IOXperts
The IOXperts site does list a Firewire Driver for earlier OS versions (As it was not included originally) the OS has Firewire driver form about OS 10.2
They also state on their Site some restriction and workaround are needed for certain apps.
    Summary.
The same info about camera types and Drivers still applies in the broadest sense.
You will not need the iSUBCam thing for Skype.
However I have not used Skype in some while and don't know if they still support USB 1.1 cameras.
    NOTES
In theory as Skype does not produce such good a Video Pic as iChat it uses less processor power to create the Video stream.
However strangely this can have positive effects in lower Spec Machines as they can then produce a coherent Stream rather than something that breaks up due to their Processor not keeping up.
You seem to mention that you have Laptop running Tiger and the specs suggest this is a G4
What is the Mac Mini's processor.
Panther itself is not the limiting factor.
It is Input ports and availability of cameras to suit that.
Any G4 processor is going to let you have one to one chats - subject to the Internet Access at each end (Hotels can be a nightmare).
    For the points

  • Is there a fix for the lousy (grainy) camera pictures on the 4s after iOS7?

Is there a fix for the lousy (grainy) camera pictures on the 4s after iOS7?

Rudegar, thanks for responding. The camera (front and rear facing) were both fine in poor lighting prior to the iOS7 upgrade. Now, the pictures in poor lighting are very grainy. I am wondering if this is because the new OS was designed for retina display and maynot be backward compatible for iPhone 4S.

  • Looking for a monitor that will match the picture quality on my Macbook Pro.

Today i bought a 27" LED Monitor w/ 2560 X 1440 resolution. The specs on the box seemed to match that of a thunderbolt display yet when connected (via HDMI) the picture quality was significantly lower than that of my Macbook Pro (13.3" 2.9 Ghz July 2012). Im likely to return this monitor due to the poor quality. What i want to know is what kind of monitor is out there that will match the color and quality of my macbook pro. I am willing to lose monitor size in return for this quality but i dont want to spend $1,000 on a thunderbolt display (i spent $400 on this monitor). Any one out the with monitor knowledge to help me out in my purchasing decision?

For anyone out there with a similar problem, after a few days of researching the issue i've found a solution. The problem being that HDMI cables wont support resolution higher than 1080p (1920 x 1080) therefore using an HDMI connection, your monitor wont output to its full potential (that is ofcourse if it can support higher than 1920 x 1080). The solution is to use a DisplayPort connection. DisplayPort is the best connection for computer monitors because it can output higher resolutions than hdmi and in most cases DVI. Today it seems like everyone is using HDMI to connect everything and it has become the standard. In the case of TV/Cable HDMI is probably your best choice because it is more properly formatted for that type of display but if you want the best picture quality for computer monitors, i'd stick with a DisplayPort cable. For compatibility with your Macbook Pro/Air/iMac, you do need to buy a MiniDisplayPort to DisplayPort converter cable to make the connection.
Again this is just how to output a non-apple display to your apple computer. If you can afford them, the ThunderBolt and Apple Cinema displays are both great monitors that can output some really high quality picture as well.

  • Stratosphere Cracked and Huge Disappointment with Verizon

So I just joined the slew of customers who were cheated out of 200.00 for buying a stratosphere that the screen cracked within two months of me buying it. The insurance is a rip off so I never have bought it. Samsung is chargin 119.00 to fix the screen. Other retailers are charging almost as much if not more to purchase a new screen I have to replace myself. What a crappy product. Under two months I haven't even finished paying for it and the screen cracked in 50 places. I did drop it about a foot but are you kidding me that there is nothing that can be done for customers?? What a rip off Verizon. I have been a customer since 2005 and before smart phones I thought Verizon was a quality customer care organization. Since I started the droid with a cracked screen and now a stratosphere with the same problem, I think I will find a company who is willing to give actual customer care when a screen cracks in two months. This is a rip off and a scam. Verizon should really look into a recall or something. The phone was actually cool and worked great until the crack. Huge disappointment. If verizon can't start having better customer service I think when my 22 month contract ends I will definitely look elsewhere. Oh ya, and funny thing too, Verizon service is terrible in the D.C. VERIZON CENTER when you go to see a sporting event. Maybe that is just representative of customer service now.

Just in case you missed it
Dave in Decatur  - Considering how many people have either had their phones cracked without doing anything, and Im pretty sure Im not the first person of the millions of owners to drop a phone one time and have it break. Im clumsy and happy to admit it. But the fact that 100s of other people are having problems with their screens after one month or two and they didn't even drop it makes it look like a poorly produced product. I don't expect to have to get new phones. I expect Verizon to sell better products for the price they are charging so they don't break with a tap.
    Notarep
Yep, I expect a new phone when a 500.00 phone cracks the first time I or anyone else drops it. Im pretty sure if I go to buy other products from elsewhere they usually don't break after a month or one use. Anyone out there have kids that used and broke their phone? Hmm... ya, Im the only one. Are you guys Verizon reps or something?
Commonsense101... nice tag... do you know how to read other blogs or just mine because Im apparently the only one to ever complain about a verizon smartphone being too cheap to stand up to simple damage?

I am a long-term user of Lightroom as a standalone product with a perpetual licence. As a retired person on limited income, it is very disappointing to me that Adobe have introduced the 'Creative Cloud' (CC) subscription service in order for me to be able to continue upgrading this excellent product. It will be for me too expensive at the minimum cost of £9 per month. The additional services that CC brings are personally of no relevance or usefulness. Adobe should be prepared to support existing users who are, like myself, non commercial, amateur photographers by giving them the simple opportunity to upgrade to Lightroom 6 as a standalone, perpetual licence product. As a member of a camera club I know my co-members who use Lightroom are equally disappointed by this move to a subscription-only service.

That is possible, John, but it is only speculation on your part. Might, not will.

There is a "Lightroom 6" upgrade available for US $79 if you have a valid license for any of the earlier versions. From what I can tell, the only difference between Lightroom 6 Full, Lightroom 6 Upgrade and LightroomCC is in the license. The download file is the same.
Other differences - with CC you get LrMobile/LrWeb and they throw in a free copy of Photoshop too.
Yes, but when I bought my standalone license and clicked on the "Download" button it took me to the LightroomCC page. The downloaded file is named Lightroom 6, but in the CC app the installed program is LightroomCC (2015).

I ran a Mini Display to HDMI lead to the TV but the picture quality was disappointing. I also tried a Mini Display to VGA lead and that wasn't much better. I tried all variations of resolutions in System prefs - Displays but nothing helped. Am I getting something wrong? Thanks all.

In addition to pixel density, you are up against the translation driver card in the TV.
If you read the fine print of computer-resolution-capability in the TV user guide, you will see a chart as tall as the manual page.  At the top is the smallest resolution capable, at the bottom is the full use of the 1080p in the TV.
Mac falls into the top 25% of the page, maxing out at 1366x768 often.  This is because the TV control card is expected to do too much of the work, but is not designed for computer-monitor processing.
I looked at the resolution charts on 2 TVs before deciding to buy a 1080p LCD monitor that has a TV interface/connector.  Computer monitor first, TV second.  But the thing is only 27 in.  Good thing TV is not as important to me as it is to others.

  • How do I find my ics files for iCal calendars in Lion?

The migration from mobileme to iCloud destroyed my home calendar.  I'm trying to restore.
The files in /library/calendar have funny names that don't map to home.ics or work.ics.
Where are the local copies of .ics files and how can I restore them in iCal?

    Hi
The .ics files for the different calendars are in "/Users/<username>/Library/Calendars/<ID>.calendar"
In every "<ID>.calendar" directory you find a "Info.plist" file that contains the name of the calendar. You can quick look the Info.plist file to see the name of the calendar.

  • AT1S0 - ICS Update for Australian users - When?

Hi, do we have any estimate for ICS update for Toshiba Thrive mini AT1S0 7"???
USA users already got it, what is about Australia? Thanks in advance.

What build number do you have installed?
Also what PDAxxx-xxxxxx model number do you see in Service Station?
I needed to install the small Honeycomb update to build number v3.2.1.33.5.0002 through Service Station, then the ICS update appeared afterwards after checking for Service Station updates again.
Make sure you have a direct internet connection, I don't think service station works through a proxy.
